If we still import toothpick in this decade with all our trees and you are shouting dollar is high then you are not 4 naija. |
I like the fact that you've discouraged the use of chemicals and fertilizer as it ultimately harms humans. I read a report that slurry is used and it has one of the best nutrient for soil and plant life. Its also natural and safe. Its green and recycles waste. All round win win. |
Nigerians themselves don't know they are rich. A wise foreign designer will buy this leather put a name on it and will resell to us and we will be feeling fly that we can afford millions of naira worth of a single bag or shoe. (Wisdom) Recently I heard a Nigerian Oba got raw gold and designed it at a goldsmith at a very affordable price. He refused foreign gold as he was aware that he could get his own designs locally using purer gold. We need to leave complaints and find solutions. Nigeria is blessed. |
Exporters are enjoying. Importers are complaining. Exports helps your economy, imports does not. We discourage imports so we can produce locally. Look to the wise: people are going into farming, production. But some are here complaining- stop buying latest phones (imports) and start producing - real leather is in kano - make world class shoes, sugar cane in north make refined sugar. Create opportunities from Nigeria's blessings. |
Employees have rights too. Even multinationals are paying ridiculous sums for transport employees while making ridiculous profit. Senate should legislate and protect employee rights. Employees too : there is strength in unity, stand together and fight for your right. |
This is possible though rare. i heard some centers are collecting about N30k for GCE (including EXPO). Please WAEC/education minister should do their jobs. Students are not reading but rather are seriously depending on EXPO. |
Since Buhari came to power, it has become obvious that the only thing wrong with Nigeria are its people (me and you) There is nothing the human mind cannot achieve when determined, What has changed, no extra investment - nothing yet more light, more fuel @ good price (without subsidy), more food, Let everyone be accountable. Things are working because people have become accountable. DO YOUR JOB WELL. DO THE RIGHT THING. |
@ Hajji Please where did you get your bag which area. |
is it economical for large scale work . I intend using for little wall plastering but would like to know how many bags would be required to large concrete mixes. Please I really need all the professional opinions we can get. Is there a best brand or are they all the same |
Thank you Hajji. I am new to this but I believe that is it. I would like to know if its safe for use in deckings, plaster, german floors ? Where can we source it from (open market sources please) prices, which is better, the liquid or powder types. How do we use it : do we just mix with concrete mixture or does it require special concrete mixes. if the decking or walls are always leaking will this curb it. |
Builders and professionals in the house. Please can you provide steps on how best to water proof cement/ concrete. Which is best the liquid or powder chemicals. Is this good for decking and pillars. I've been seeing some nice constructions around town that seems to use waterproofed concrete. |
Someone said 'we listen to reply and not to understand' The topic was quite clear enough yet the responses range from uneducated to plain ignorant. Everybody just has ideas and must give opinion. The CEO of Nigeria has given a directive- some are even querying his authority. What's the point of a control (auditor's query) that can be circumvent . The directive will ensure due process is followed and controls are not neglected. |
Please can activists, lawyers and those in the know educate us on how to ensure we protect our rights as employees. How do we promote local content Functions of the industrial court. Labour unions- how do you join and what are the benefits. |
We need to pass laws where the private and public entities are paid a % of the lowest earning people. Have u ever opened the annual accounts of any company. The whole company(2800 staff) will earn N200m. The directors and execs(20staff) will earn N300m. Some call it capitalism .... The billionaires are all people who have fed off people's sweat without adequate compensation. Multinationals use contract staff to avoid compensation yet make vision statements of how they value their staff. The worst part- who monitors the execs. They pass all their costs (housing, feeding, cars etc) to the company. Even PLC companys shareholders get leftovers. |
I'm interested in how many local and expatriate staff are affected. Expatriates costs more and usually are not required (eg accountants, HR, etc) when local content are available. The NLC has to be proactive and ensure staff rights throughout Nigeria. Ensure local content is promoted. So many expatriates taking up local content job. We have so many laws to protect local content but they are not be followed. |
Nigerians are really funny. Do you go unprepared for a meeting. Even to a recruitment exercise you still bring a copy of your cv and credentials. And I can assure you that you won't spend two hours during the meeting. Be prepared. Come prepared. |
This one no be favour everybody loses when fuel runs out. Na to go find donkey horse and bicycles. Resume our market days (every 2 weeks). Lagos go return 1909. |
Oil marketers thought they were all in all. Banks will close, no communications we all go back to the village. Gets to a point we see car on the road we burn it cos it can only belong to a oil marketer. Everyone loses in the long run. |
Companies are determined to post unverifiable high profits at the expense of staff. The CEO will be paid an amount that the company cannot afford but will want to save cost from your peanut salary. (CEO -N400m, all other staff-N350m) Companies bring in expatriates and pay exorbitant salaries and yet are trying to save costs. (Imagine even recruiting expatriate school principal) Till date the workforce still does not know the magnitude of its power. We have immigration laws and quotas (no recruiting of expatriates for qualifications available in Nigeria), Labour laws etc yet no enforcement. THE NIGERIAN WORKFORCE WILL ENVENTUALLY NEED TO COME TOGETHER AND FIGHT TO GAIN ITS RIGHTS. |
The high court decision seems wrong negating the power of the CBN over banks and current money laundering legislations both nationally and internationally. At most for not notifying customer, GTB could pay damages but even GTB might not be liable where it waives confidentiality if said money was under investigation. GTB should counter sue jointly all Accountant General, CBN and said customer for trying to implicate it in money laundering fraud and should bring this to international media, taskforces with disclaimers showing they do not wish to be associated with fraud. On a lighter note: Nigerians na computer de calculate bank charges and like tax una must pay. Just carry calculator and confirm. Any overcharge go to ur bank and shout. |
I so love Solutions: Solution is easy: Nigeria is for all or not. Either Lagos assembly passes law binding non indigent from soliciting for political office or the Senate passes law that all Nigerians can hold office anywhere in Nigeria. Meaning: We must all act equally. The funny thing though is everyone will be vying for positions in Lagos mainly. Una mouth sweet after Tinubu and Fashola Don make Lagos to small London. Lagos is hard but people wan die for there. LOL. Patrotism is when you fight to develop your own state. We really need to work on civic duties. Nigeria can only be great when we work hard to develop individual states. |

I just recently watched Chinamanda's film and was so moved that I researched the Biafran war. This finally took me to the origin of the matter - the first Nigeria coup. Chinamanda is obviously biased and may be prejudiced by her people's ordeal during the war but she did not fully represent the matter in its true light in her movie. Please feel free to research this. I feel the Oba said a prayer which I say regularly " the people who do not want me to succeed will not succeed". Any inconvenience is deeply regretted. |
abdulwastecx: sister what are you talking about?I was using simple examples to show how we love to criticized and point fingers. The private sector needs to be more developed than the public sector for a country to develop. Who employs the most (even over employs) . We have youths who have set up farms on their own ( accolades). Are you sure agriculture is not developed by the government?? The tax system that we have do we not all try to evade it. Good schools cost money. If you pay more will you not get more value ( case in point private universities??) . Law enforcement officers who lay their lives on the line for you for paltry sums and do not ever get your respect?? When your salary does not cater to all your needs do you not set priorities? No government has limitless funds and too much borrowing is not good for the economy. Ok give us a plan/budget about income and expenditure which you would undertake if you were a public official stating what sectors you would focus on. ( present it and let's critic). There are so many laws(e.g road, taxes sanitation, customs, bribery) to guide us which we flaunt and the manners which we all refuse to show at home are compelled on us abroad. My point is still when we point figures the other four points back to us. Let's start giving positive feedback in our words and actions if we truly expect change. |
Nigerians will never take ownership for Nigeria. Criticism is so easy. Anybody who wants to be enslaved we dash you to the white man. Who drops dirts on the streets of Lagos. When last did you do sanitation( if not for ebola) All of you waka come Lagos- putting strain on limited resources ( imagine Lagos with 5m people and lagos with 35m people and still counting) People live in sheds use the streets as latrines and blame the government when they are prohibited from such. Is it the government that builds collapsed building or convert one Storey to five because of greed? How much taxes have you paid and when last did you pay ( nothing good comes cheap) Lagos is not dirty, the people in Lagos are dirty Nigeria is not a thief, some people are deliberately stealing and spoiling their own names. (Can you absolutely vouch for yourself) Change your thinking. Be responsible for Nigeria I hail the people that have done their best through actions for Nigeria and Nigerians. |
Nigerians are too sure of themselves. Always wanting to win. Someone wins and others lose in every facets of life. appreciate the game effort. But ma people sha |
Congratulobia. She's the best of the best. |
All he hopes to gain is that we suspect each other. Boko Haram is the number enemy here and their sponsors. Because bombs do not know tribe religion or names. we appreciate The Nigerian soldiers for their dedication and hard work. They are definitely not cowards. If you think they are volunteer to go and fight |
Very fishy smelly story. Reeks of deceit. In the crowded Lagos airport, Nobody saw, heard nothing. |
Nigeria has so much history and we have pics to prove it too. Our sculptures, bronze works, clay art all tell our history. Proudly Nigerian. Diverse people Diverse Cultures. Learnt a lot from the pics. War is HELL. Lets strive for Peace always. Bombs destroy lives, destroys families, Destroys Hope. |
