With the current rate of purchasing a Tokunbo vehicle and people opting for a Nigerian used vehicles, here are some important things to note before making that purchase.

1. Make sure the seller you're buying from has an identity, you don't just buy from a random person with no link to anyone or anywhere so you won't be buying a stolen vehicle. Do your due diligence before buying a Nigerian used car.

2. When inspecting, take your "trusted" mechanic along, don't depend on your own little knowledge about cars to make a purchase, look under the vehicle for any rust make you no go buy "panda or" lowe" (that word is for the street for useless or fake stuff grin).

3. Check the vehicle papers very well, ask for the custom papers, make sure all documents are intact. From the vehicle papers, check the VIN/Chassis Number written or inscribed on the windshield, engine hood and door sides if they correlate with the one on the documents, most people register vehicles with a lot discrepancies, if they don't correlate na wahala be that oo(though I can help you rectify that but e go cost you some money).

4. Try and negotiate the cost of processing your change of ownership and registration fees along when you're dealing and negotiating with the seller, the cost of changing ownership with due process is on the high side now as you know the FG has increased the price of number plates across the nation.

5. After making payment, make sure you both sign an agreement for and purchase receipt to legally show your transaction and the amount you bought it.

6. After doing the 5 above, you can now contact oga VD for your proper vehicle registration grin. Thank you

Check my signature for your vehicle documents needs, fast, reliable and hassle free. May your vehicle never be your coffin, may the Good God keep you safe as you cruise around with your ride from known and unknown danger.

I just laugh at the negative comments on this thread, meanwhile lots of people are applying for this job. Police job is a noble one, forget the fact that we have a lot of corrupt individuals in the force, it's still better and commendable compared to involving in illegal activities.

Normally, his restlessness is not your concern. Assuming he's starving then it's your concern to help him out. Don't borrow or give him any amount of money until you clear your own debt. I wonder how you people are confident about paying back debt in a later date, what if unforseen circumstances happen? Death? Job loss? Sickness? Theft?.... Besides, he hasn't paid back what he borrowed from you in the first place. Lending out money has ruined me to an extent, I'm a ridiculous giver before, now I've learnt my lessons.

FamilyRe: Help!!! How Do I Change My Father's Mode Of Dressing. by ospreywin(m): 6:02pm On Nov 20, 2021
Perez99:
Good day nairalanders.
I will make it very brief. Please I need your advice.
I've been a nairalander since 2016 but this is my first official post.

My father is a good, noble and humble man. A successful business man. He's very proud of us (his children), we're also proud of him. We're 3. I'm 29 years of age, the eldest and only son. He make sure we don't lack anything. We all went to one of the prestigious Private University in Nigeria. I and my immediate baby sis are graduate, while last born still in 300l.

The problem is that, my father don't know how to dress, he prefer to wear faded and worn out clothes. My dad drive highlander 2014 model. If my Dad comes down from his car, you will think he's a driver to an imaginary Boss because of the way he dressed.
Blessed memories of my beloved mom May her soul R.I.P. She was always complaining and sometimes my Dad won't listen to her.

I'm a good fashion designer, my love for fashion is topnotch. I also own a laundry store and a barbing store. I've been privileged to sew some clothes for comedian Buchi which he loves so much and he promised to patronize me again.

GOD in heaven knows how many lovely, mature and soft dress I've sew and bought for my father with my money. He only wears it once and won't wear it again, there are some he haven't put on at all. He celebrated his birthday August, I bought this nice shirt 18k for him as a gift. Till today he hasn't put it on.

Please note: money is not his problem. The other day he stopped by at my store, I and my boys were working. He noticed nobody was using one of my industrial machines. He asked and I said it was faulty. He said how much? I said 170k but I'll change it soon before January....(because I just wrapped my car from corolla to ES Lexus)....Before I could say Jack... Baba don send me 200k. I ordered the machine instantly.

See what happened this morning, He got an invitation to attend a meeting. The smartest way to dress for a highly regarded man like him is native wear.
So he gave me this faded black trouser turning white to brush for him, that he wanted to wear it for the meeting...See eh, It was so annoying. I went to his room gathered the nice, starched and ironed native I could gather and I told him to select one, that I won't brush that faded trouser. He started saying ... " I'm proving stubborn and all manner things"... I'm sure our tenants could hear our argument.

Please Nairalanders. What can I do to make my Dad dress well. I plan to set fire on those faded and worn out clothes but it will look so disrespectful. I'm sure his friends have accepted his mode of dressing.
My siblings and I are tired of complaining.

Please I need an advice!!!
Dear perez99, don't ever think of burning his clothes again. You better thank God for your family, what you see as an issue is nothing compared to what God has given you. As a fashionista you are, you should be able to understand perspectives and preferences, you can't wish for someone what they don't like and you can't force it, that's the truth. You should rather see something positive about his sense of dressing, he has experienced a lot that you can't even understand why he prefers to dress that way, it might be the comfortability, it might be for security reasons, it might be some lucky charm(honestly), even it might be because of a vow he has made with himself to be humble and see life differently. You don't have any issue at all, you're just creating them by seeing his mode of dressing as whack. Be positive

Are You Traveling to the Eastern states from Lagos for this Christmas . ADVICE: It's a horrible nightmare travelling from Lagos to Onitsha, Benin and other parts by road. It's even worse if you are using your personal vehicle, especially with the rate of insecurity in the country at the moment. If you leave Lagos for Onitsha by 6am, the earliest you should expect to be there is 8pm. Here are the things you need to be able to finish your trip in one piece and with your vehicle:
1. A large dose of PATIENCE and TOLERANCE. No frowing, ABSOLUTELY NO BIG GRAMMAR.
2. Vehicle Customs Documents. Ensure that Custom duty was paid on your vehicle.
3. Current and Valid vehicle Registration Papers and Valid driver's license. Just make before you leave home that you personally check these documents. Ensure that the VIN/Chassis numbers , engine numbers on the documents match what you have stamped in the vehicle.
4. Vehicle CMR, ROAD Worthiness Certificate. Make sure what you are carrying is not fake. Confirm before leaving Lagos.(you can also message or call me to get your vehicle documents done 100% legit)
5. Tinted Glass Permit. Make sure it is from source and has your photograph or your driver's photograph on it.
6. Ensure your journey isn't scheduled to late night, make sure you hit the road as early as possible.
7. Fire extinguisher - right size and not expired, C - Caution. First Aid Kit, Good Spare tyre, Jack and Wheel Spanner, Waste basket ,Valid Local Government Stickers for Pickups.
8. Do not carry any bag of RICE please unless you have a receipt from an Abakaliki rice farm.
9. If you are just coming in from 'ABROAD' I beg you in the name of all that is PRECIOUS to you - No 'Forming'. Hide your dollars, Sterlings and Euros. Never show anyone your foreign Passport or Driver's License as a means of identification. Just show your Nigerian Passport on demand. Trust me you won't need to do that if you just 'fit in'.
10. Go back to 1. Be nice to them. Give them that Air Hostess Plastic Smile and Yes 'Dash dem something' for being on the road and protecting you from kidnappers(sarcasm)
So ensure that you Carry A Lot of N100 and N200 notes.
11. I personally will advice you to move in convoy if you know people who are traveling the same route as yours or you come from the same village.
Finally if this is too much for you to handle, simply apply and pay for Armed Mobile Police Escort or just stay where you are now.
Am a regular traveler.
