The so-called electricity distribution companies haven't invested anything in distribution infrastructure. They have only come to collect rent while delivering epileptic power to the people. Can we begin to share pictures of the crooks behind all these frauds called electricity distribution and generation companies?
Always apologizing after every senseless act/talk. When will Obi grow up and begin to cultivate leadership qualities? The only thing the obidients can flaunt is his age, nothing more
AsomughaChuks05: He will campaign in the state. No one is chasing him away, we know he will lose. He will likely use the Catholic church field in Onitsha to campaign like he usually does because of his stinginess he won't want to pay for Ekwueme square in Awka.
With the ongoing verbal attacks between professor Soludo (the governor of Anambra) and Obi, LP/Obi may not be able to effectively campaign for votes in Anambra state. While Obi doesn't seem to see his rejection by political bigwigs from his region as an obstacle, anybody who understands how elections work in Nigeria will have no doubt that Obi is in for big trouble even in SE. How do you win a ward in Nigeria without the support of the grassroot politicians? The young Obi's supporters won't be seen anywhere on the day of the election as most of them don't even have voter's cards. Most of them will turn our roads into foot fields on the day of the election.
By and large, LP/Obi may end up losing most of the states in SE.
NigeriaIsGreat: Lol. How many of the mansions in your Village were paid for with drug money? You people are the biggest drug dealers in Africa, and one of the biggest worldwide along the Colombians and Mexicans.
Yet you have mouth to be attacking Tinubu who has never been convicted of drug dealing?
You lot have no shame, no focus and lil sense of self-awareness.
Don't mind them... the first set of people to be killed by firing squared for drug trafficking were from his tribe and probably his close brothers... the same ode is here calling a man who has worked diligently abroad and at home, a drug baron.
abc115: Peter Obi threw women under the bus in Rivers state today. Beatrice Itubo is the Labour Party Gubernatorial candidate in the state, yet he told his supporters to vote Wike's candidate. Such utterances are unfair and discouraging.
It was an interesting scene today in Rivers when Gov Wike descended on Obidients who were shouting "Obi Keke renke...". He asked them to keep their mouths shut, saying he invited Obi to commission a flyover project which the obidients (who are mostly igbos) opposed - now you're singing Obi keke renke... He said they called him names and tagged him anti-igbos, that he wanted to chase the Igbos away from Rivers. He lambasted them and admonished Nigerians, in general, to stop bringing ethnicity and religion into the issues of governance. He asked if the place with the new bridge doesn't look a lot better than it was before.
Atiku told us again how poor Nigeria is. According to him, Nigeria doesn't have money for anything (e.g. rail, etc) that can make life meaningful and revive our economy. Atiku believes the only way out is the continuation of the privatization he started when he was VP. Unfortunately, Nigeria and Nigerians haven't benefited anything from the previous privatization efforts. Even the Lagos-Ibadan express road that was to be reconstructed through a private-public partnership arrangement (during the same PDP/Atiku's government), failed to deliver. The few enterprises that were sold like PHCN, etc for peanuts to themselves, all turned out to be big disappointments and shameful failures.
The only thing we can see from all these is our politicians getting richer and richer. Atiku for example is one of the movers and shakers in Dubai, owing skyscrapers and many other interests. So, the question we should be asking is why is Nigeria this poor? Who made Nigeria this poor? The country is getting poorer and our politicians are getting richer including Atiku. Atiku is probably the richest politician in Nigeria today because I don't know anybody who could contest for the presidency four consecutive times with his own personal resources and he is still very financially buoyant. Where did Atiku make all his money from? It can't be this same Nigeria that is so poor to the extent of not being able to construct rail lines for her people.
Hopefully, Nigeria won't turn to the likes of Atiku to borrow money for salary payments, etc. This happened under Mubutu Sese Seko (former president of the democratic republic of Congo), who was richer than his country.
Mynd44: Former Central Bank Of Nigeria and Present Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Soludo in an article titled "History beckons and I will not be silent " wrote about the poverty level of Anambra state from 2006 to 2010 while the present Presidential Candidate of the Labor Party, Peter Obi was in his first term as governor of Anambra state.
In an article which many described as either very needless as they claimed Charles Soludo is merely bitter and angry, others praised it as they said it brought into public light numerous false misconceptions by Peter Obi's supporters.
Either way, his comment on the statistics of the poverty level in Anambra, got tongues wagging and fingers typing (mine included) and a lot of people have said the former CBN governor simply lied (but did he?)
Claim: Charles Soludo wrote that "…poverty in Anambra actually grew (from less than 25% in 2005) to about 53% under Peter Obi in 2010/2011 but fell under Willie Obiano to 14.78% in 2020. Yes, poverty more than doubled under Peter Obi and more than 50% of Ndi Anambra were in poverty under him. Go and verify"
This isn't all as he had wrote something similar in 2015 in an article titled "Buhari vs Jonathan: Beyond the Election" where he wrote that "According to the National Bureau of Statistics, poverty rose under his watch in Anambra from 20% in 2004 (lowest in Nigeria then) to 68% in 2010 (a 238% deterioration!)."
These two quotes seem similar but can also be be different as the numbers dont match but if we look closely, in the 2022 letter, he mentioned 2010/2011 which was mostly measured in 2011 and in the 2015 letter, he was specific about the year 2010.
Verification: According to a press briefing By then Statistician General of the federation and lead of the National Bureau of Statistics, Yemi Kale in a press briefing titled "Press Briefing By The Statistician-General Of The Federation/Chief Executive Officer, National Bureau Of Statictics Dr. Yemi Kale" delivered in February 2012.
Now since the NBS does not release poverty levels per years, we can only judge with the 2010 report
It is seen that the poverty level of Anambra state as at 2010 was at 68% (see image below) which matches the value quoted by Professor Charles Soludo in his 2015 article.
Verdict: The statement by the Anambra state governor, Professor Soludo claiming that the poverty level in Anambra while Peter Obi was governor rose to 68% in 2010 and 53% in 2010/2011 can be said to be true and not an exaggeration.
Also notable is that when Peter Obi responded to Professor Soludo in 2015, he did not refute the poverty percentage.
Obi should stand down... A man under whose watch poverty doubled is not qualified to aspire to be president of Nigeria. You don't compensate a failure with the presidency.
vastolord4: I don't think these old men are the only crooks. OP and so many youths are more stupid as they sound.. so your old bread winner supports APC Nd PDP? But in your house, you wish and pray to succeed your father abi? Such a F L you are
Changing location doesnt turn a prostitute into a virgin. Obi was a PDP member untill a few weeks ago.
ogododo: The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, has said the dollar might drop to ₦200 after the redesigning of naira.…
By Muawiya Shuaibu Wed, 16 Nov 2022 10:45:43 WAT The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, has said the dollar might drop to ₦200 after the redesigning of naira.
Bawa stated this in an interview with Deutsche Welle (DW) Hausa service, saying President Muhammadu Buhari did well to approve the redesigning.

He said, “The law says the redesigning of Naira notes should be done every eight years but we spent 20 years without any changes on them. And that resulted to 85 per cent of money are in circulation not in banks, when CBN came up with this redesigning, dollar moved to 880 and later dropped to 680 or thereabouts.
“So you see with this redesigning dollar may massively fall, who knows probably to ₦200.”
The EFCC chair also said there is no any political motive behind the idea and called on Nigerians to report any person with siphoned monies.
“There is no political motive in this; some people siphoned and hid public funds that is why we want them to bring them out and nobody says they should not bring them, what government says is let them deposit such money in banks.
“We assure Nigerians that we are always ready to receive reports of any person with suspicious hidden money and if investigated to be true, we will give 5 per cent of the money to them,” he added.
The rebuttal of Soludo's response to Obi by mostly Igbo youths came to many of us as a surprise. I read the piece from Soludo, and I want to say any objective analyst would agree with him on all the points discussed. His views on Obi's investment of state's funds in private businesses, his performance in office, etc... none of these can be disputed even by Obi himself. Obi also agreed with him when he said in his response to Soludo that he (Obi) is a mere trader. What miracle do you expect a trader to perform in an office that requires competence, capacity, and experience? However, the internet-based youths supporting Obi have been abusing and raining curses on professor Charles Soludo. To them, Soludo was wrong and Obi was right. Even when Soludo gave them the statistics of unemployment before and during the reign of Obi as governor of Anambra, which shows that unemployment actually doubled under Obi, Obi's internet crowd dismissed it and even called for an end to Soludo's political leadership in Anambra and SE in general.
Where did we get it wrong my people? The youths that should be the future of the country don't seem to like the truth. To them, Soludo is the villain while Obi is the hero.
Peter Obi dropped another bomb today when he said $1 is now N1000 naira. Is obi praying for things to get worse or he just like making things appear worse than they are?
