Entchidodo:
With Ibeto,Guo,Innoson and very numerous businness tycoons already domiciled there it would be bad idea for Dangote to start there(he will be chewed raw by the stiff competition).....tis like asking GM to go fight for market dominance in Japan, the hometown of Honda,Toyota,KIA,Mitsubish etc....Tis good thinking to fight for dominance in the neutral grounds of Southwest and the rest of the country....You know how those slaves enjoy paid employment and pean nuts....no businness acumen, industry or competition.South West is every industrialist wet dream.
Are you kidding me? Dangote that produces cement, flour, sugar, salt etc will be competing with Ibeto and Innoson?cheesy What will be the basis of their competition?
Which hole did you craw out from?grin
To start with, Ogun state alone is more industrialized than the whole SE combine, so I don't get your point.

Hey, hey!! Just zip it there! Did the high unemployment rate start under GEJ'S watch? And wasn't it under the same GMB that the VERY BASIC commodities needed were scarce causing queues at shops across the country? Yet you have the audacity to spew rubbish here? Imagine this blockhead. If you dont have a clue about a subject matter, just STFU before you put your ignorance on display here. Now go face your books before you fail your WAEC exams again.
You're very daft!
If you've not been watching too much NTA and AIT before March 28, you should know that Naira was #0.8 to $1 and Buhari refused to devalue our currency despite the pressure from the West. Now go and find out why there were scarcity of basic commodities most of which are imported goods.
If you're looking for the person who really destroyed Nigeria, go and meet IBB- GEJ's Father.

I will not descend to your level as to be throwing infantile tantrums with you.

There is a difference between handing over and swearing in.

the swearing in is taking place on May 29. I wonder why people can't understand the difference? the handover is just the night before which has to do with welcoming and ushering in the new government to be sworn in the morning after and briefing them all other information needed. which is OK to take place before swearing than after immediately upon swearing in, the government can kick into action.

I understand now that it's all bout hate. Nigerians hate Jonathan so much that it is generally accepted that nothing good can come from him abi,

very unfair. if that man can concede defeat for the greater good of our country, it's sad to know that Nigerians can't trust him on a simple handover.
This won't be the first time transition is taking place in Nigeria. Handing over and swearing in has always been on May 29. The change of power to the opposition party won't change that. The constitution is clear about this.

Amen. We want that too.

shhhh! Anambra state has the best rural road network in the entire federation. FACT! I have said it countless times, you youbas shouldn't just sit in ogbomosho, odogbo, iragbiji or atakunmosa slums and think igboland is like that cheesy
And you're comparing these places to your SE villages I know like the palm of my hands? SMH. Many communities in the SE do not qualify to be farm settlements in Yorubaland. I'm telling you there are places in the SE where the access roads are footpaths. Streams still remain their source of water. No electricity, no school, and no healthcare centre. And you want to compare these places to Iragbiji where they have tarred roads at their doorsteps? If you call Ogbomoso and Osogbo slums, what do want us to call Aba and Onitsha? Hell? Don't deceive yourself, more than half of the small landmass that makes up the SE is still grossly under-developed. What we have away from the urban centres are compounds scattered around forests, far away from each other.

Not until you show me one non-igbo that has been discriminated against in Igbo land, I can't take you serious and the assumption continues.
I'm a witness.

what statistics? The average Igbo man is faring better than the average Yoruba man
Available data show that a bulk of expenditures on food and non-food items in Nigeria is from Yorubaland. Even if we assume Ibos make up 50% of SW population (which is not), the SE wont still catch up with it. You will agree with me that expenditure is a function of income, ain't it? That's the fact. In reality, I don't see how an average Igboman is faring better than his Yoruba counterpart. I've travelled to most parts of this country with the exception of Taraba State. There is poverty everywhere. An Igbo girl in Ihiala who dropped out of school because she lost her mother and the father wouldn't give a damn(a real situation) is no better than a girl in Ede with the same problem. Each tribe in Nigeria has almost equal share of poor people. I know this.
;Dlmao! says a Yoruba man whose tribe is notorious to promoting tribalism, sectionalism, ethnicity and nepotism in Nigeria.... laffing in awori cheesygrin
How are we promoting all that you mentioned above. The fastest way to gain the favor of an Igbo person in a position of authority is just to say "kedu" and you're there. Try the same template with a Yorubaman and you'd need a miracle to get what you want. This is not because we hate ourselves, it is because to us, business is not personal.

The article says sabotage, no where did it say 'beg'. Please the me when igbos have begged Yoruba for anything. Igbo take full responsibilities for its actions Fyi.
This topic reads: HELP !! Yoruba Plot To KILL Ibaka Deep Sea Port". One way or the other, you're begging for help.
Now that we know the solution to your problems, we'll ensure that the Sea Port becomes a reality within the next 8 years, but promise us y'all will go back to the East so that all our efforts will not be for nothing. Boycott Lagos Ports entirely and lets feel your absence.

Btw please name one yoruba state that is not as backward as the stone age minus lagos which the yorubas has very little contribution to its development. Is it osun, ekiti, oyo, where? please just zip ya mouth.
What's your definition of backwardness?
It's only in the East that I've seen a community so far without motorable road, potable water, electricity, school, and healthcare facility. The only semblance of government presence is a polling unit. Tell me what's more backward than that?

Igbos hate yoruba and yoruba love igbos right? clap for yourself
Yes we love you. An Igbo family (not Ibo like yougrin), is occupying a part of my Grandpa's house in my Hometown free of charge, just to keep Grandma company. A free plot of land to build their own house- not that land is so cheap there. If that's not love, I wonder what it is. However, somewhere accross the Niger, I, a Yorubaman can never own a land, talkless of a house. Now can you see the difference?

That the SE does not have much federal presence does not men it backward. It is even more progressive than the SW region despite its political advantage and presence. Our destiny does not lie in political offices....ask the hausas.
The SE is not more progressive than the SW. At least, statistical data and the reality on ground don't point to that direction. Yes, your destiny lie not in occupying political offices, but in vissionary Leaders, which you people don't have.

Your seeming greater influence will come to nought if you try to mis-use it. 2015 isn't 1967, the odds are not in your favour this time around. Keep blabbing as to turning to destitute, your delusions will turn out to be your major nightmare.
We're not known to use our offices to favor only our people. My fellow Yorubas can attest to that. We don't engage in favoritism and nepotism. We believe in merit and result.
Just watch and take notes ok?grin

Please where is it stated that we want yorhba to help us construct the port? Why do you fools like to give yourselves over bloated self worth? Imagine this goat saying yorubas are superior and Igbos fear them...I laff in ijebu. Wonders shall never end!

Listen, you can only try but you cant thwart our progress much as you try. Worst comes go worst, the whole country and everyone will suffer for it, and do not expect us to stop getting on your nerves anytime soon. You can continue fanning your ego and revel in self praise, but any attempt to over-use your political advantage at the center will cripple the whole country.
So what's the essence of this topic if not begging the Yorubas to come to the rescue? What business have the Yorubas with Ibaka Port? Did we stop revenue flow from the FG to the East, or you just like blaming the Yorubas for your backwardness?
When was the last time we ever blame the Ibos for anything? If that's not a sign of superiority, then what's it? We have no point to prove to you, it's you Ibos who have been trying to prove superiority all these while, but turn around and accuse us of sabotaging you economically and politically. How is that posible for the weaker group to do? It's you people who have been blowing the ember of our ego by blaming us for your woes and even begging for help against Yoruba oppression and sabotage, as evident in this thread.
We know all your chest beating and obsession with us point to a fact; you're afraid of us. I've spent too much time with you people to be mistaken.
Since you've been exhibiting this unreciprocated hatred towards us and it's not working for you, isn't it time you try something else...something like worshipping us as your gods, may be, just may be, things we start working for you?grin

As for the last part of your post, if we've succeeded in ensuring your region remains backward( as you'd make us believe) without Federal might, what makes you think you stand a chance of crippling the country now that we have greater influence?
Isn't that giving us an excuse to turn you all to destitutes once and for all knowing fully well that we have an history of using economic and political weapons to win wars without firing a shot?
You better come back to your senses, you're not our match.

The Yorubas have been kept aside since 2010, can't you see how much Nigeria have grown?
The Ibaka Sea Port, 2nd Niger Bridge have been completed. All our Federal roads are now 8-lane expressway and we now enjoy 24 hours power supply...Erm...yes! We've built 4 new refineries so we no longer have to import petroleun products and no more paying subsidy to dubious oil marketers. This happened because we kept the Yorubas aside in the last 6 years.

I can see you're suffering from Orubebean syndrome. What you need is Jegamycin. Nonsense!!!

If the Yorubas are so capable of frustrating anything good in the SS and the SE and you guys are helpless about it, isn't it obvious that we're superior to you?
Now that you know that we can thwart your progress, isn't it wise that you stop getting on our nerves by calling us names?
I know an average Easterner deep inside, fears and holds the Yorubas in high esteem, but I never knew you've elevated us to the level of your deities.

Dangling bribes to corrupt lazy northerners who naturally will be glad Tinubu is only interested for now in securing assests and not prime appointments.
So far Tinubu will pay hansomely for these assets as you've mentioned earlier, it's ok. These facilities are lying fallow and any move to put them into productive use is welcome.
Even if he's going to be the most likely to win the bid, there're going to be other bidders anyway. Nobody will sell those assets discretely.

The PDP was and still is divided because PDP reflected the true National character via its members.

The ACN had one outlook only and which was to serve the interests of Tinubu.

I have to hand it to Tinubu, he really knows how to pick his puppets.

Knowing that Tinubu prefers to lurk in the shadows, I expect him to sit back and ask for what other greedy lazy northern politicians do not want other than juicy appointments.

Tinubu will ask to pay handsomely for these assests and bribe every legislator in the land, retired service men, traditional rulers in the north to prevail on Buhari to see this as the right move. This will serve to remove Tinubu from the helms of govt which the north may not be comfortable with but at the end of the day Tinubu will legitimately to an extent acquire more wealth and property.

If Tinubu isn't thinking in this direction , then call me a liar!
@bolded, what's then your point when you know he's going to pay a good price for the assets? Oh! It should be given to other people for free, instead of Tinubu? Where were you when GEJ gave NITEL to one of his proxies at a give away price even when there were better bidders? Do you know how much Jona sold PHCN? Do you know the FG still finance these private companies with state funds? So you would rather Buhari gave these assets to you for free and even give you money to develop it? You're daft!
Those facilities are going to be auctioned and sold to the highest bidders, so do something meaningful with your life and stop hating on the success of others. Your family members need to watch you closely, coz at this rate, you will soon attempt suicide.

I don't see the SS making an headway even if 100% oil revenue is allocated to that region. The combined revenue allocation to the SS since 1999 is nothing less than N15 Trillion yet the region is still as backward as ever without any meaningful development.
You people will not get an increment in revenue allocation until you can prove to us that you can handle the one you're receiving now.
Instead of them to hold their Leaders accountable, they're busy crying for more money. And this simple building is still like this even with GEJ- their son and god- as President since 2010? SMH.
