But the people with those intimidating scores should have been cleared by this draw.

Note: that was the CRS distribution as at 7th December.

Either ways we still keep on hoping and praying for the best.

It will end in praise.

wasseynewest:
Quite a good analysis here while it further shows we still have some people with intimidating CRS in dt pool(smiles). Though, I think it's a slim miss for those on 443/444. Either ways, one can only PRAY because the number of people entering d pool daily cannot be quantified. We hope & await next wks draw.

Congrats to all those who clinched ITA today, wishing you all a smooth and speedy process all the way to PPR , COPR et.al

While those of us on 440 like my self , as well as our brethren like say 438-439 (got a couple of my hommies who have maxed out and have been in the pool since first quarter of the year), lets continue to pray and hope for the best that our Christmas gift will surely hit us in next draws.

CRS distribution as at 7 December below looking hopeful.

*clears throat* PRAAAAAIIISSSSEEEE THE LORD!!!! *full on praise and worship session*

Hello my dear Nairalanders, you will kindly forgive the lack of specific dates in my story as I started this journey October 2017.

IELTS: 28th October 2017: LRWS: 8.5,9,7.5,7.5
ECA (WES): middle of December 2017- Masters.
CRS: 481
NOC: 4151
Experience: over 3 years
Single applicant.
ITA: 9th January 2018
AOR: 26th January 2018

ADR for schedule A and travel history: early February
Meds passed: day after ADR
IP1: same day

*so much silence*

Notification that I will be doing an interview: middle of July
Notification of interview date: beginning of August
Interview: September 18. Check page 1 for details
IP2 and ‘interview completed’: September 18

*more silence*

Emailed Ralph, LVO and AVO almost everyday for 2 weeks but I doubt it helped speed up my processing.
Got second GCMS notes that showed everything was awesome end of November.

PPR: December 11! My year is complete and beautiful. I praise God for making everything perfect in His time.
Passport submitted: 12/12/18. (I pray. VFS has network issues. A child of God has been waiting for over 4 hours).

I’m not going to go into application details cos everything you need is on page 1 or on this thread.

I would say though that I almost didn’t submit any supporting document, only the mandatory ones (first item on the list) and this may be what led to my interview. At the end of the day, I had to take all those supporting documents to Accra.
I thought bombarding a visa officer with documents would not be great but I’d advise anyone that’s applying now, submit EVERYTHING. Let them be confused with your overflowing evidence haha.

Almost 11 months post AOR, there was nothing easy at all about this process but if I had to, I’d do it over again and I recommend it to every Nigerian I meet. I pray Canada favours us all. Amen.

Thank you for all your help Nairaland! The wealth of information here is ridiculous and I can’t stand when people ask some basic questions sometimes. Read. Read. Read!

@raphrulz don’t undermark me oh. I’m trying to encourage people to go to page 1 hehe.

Well, who knows that might prompt draws to even fall earlier say 24th, Monday and therefore favour people.

Lets keep fingers crossed and hope for the best. wink

Congratulations to all on their various milestones

So, considering that the last Invitation round was on the 28th of November, do we think there will be 2 invitation rounds in December
If there is one tomorrow, 2 weeks after will be 26th of December...I am assuming there will be a holiday na... just wondering...

Dear brother/ sister,

Why do you want to migrate to canny as a student first of all?

If i were you, i would migrate to canada through the FSW program since you would have completed your masters degree.

All things being equal with your masters degree, you should score enough points to receive ITA after scaling IELTS and evaluating your masters.

As for the job thingy, follow your passion and you should be fine wink
pyha:
Hi all!
I am currently residing in Europe and I want to emigrate to Canada, hopefully by fall (September) next year. I want to emigrate as a student and my current option is a year long graduate certificate. I have already completed a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Information Technology) and I am now rounding off a Master's degree in Technology innovation and management. I have a few questions and I'll need informed advice or guidance.

Job Prospects
Due to the nature of my previous studies I think I have two options for future career advancement - the IT sector (Software development, Computer/Web application designer, IT business Analyst, etc.) or Business administration (Business Analyst, Project Management, Research Analyst, etc.). I want to know (Based on your experiences (either personal or vicarious)) if you were compelled to advice me, which of these two sectors you think will lead to high-earning good job offers at entry-level position after a one-year graduate certificate program. E.g. Computer Application Developer vs. IT Business Analyst, IT Business Analyst vs. Business Analyst.

Getting a Permanent Residence
I want to settle in Canada after my studies. I want to know what you think is the surest process for student integration.

Which of the provinces allow students to become residents with minimum conditions?
Is a year long graduate certificate with it's accompanying one year post graduate work permit too risky (due to time constraints) to allow me successfully transition into a permanent resident?

Cost of living/quality of life

I am in the process of saving the required amount of funds needed for one year's tuition fees (e.g. 17,000 cad$) and 15,000 cad$ for living expenses for a year. Which cit(ies) can offer affordable cost of living (accommodation, amenities, transportation, etc.) and also easy to get casual or entry level part-time jobs that require little or no qualifications? (I am currently focused on Ontario, for some reasons it has the most colleges that offer the type of education I'm interested in, unless I haven't been searching well enough.)

Well, that's it for now smiley. I hope I haven't asked too much?

Please house, seniors, anyone with relevant advice or guidance related to my questions feel free to share.

Thanks a lot!

That's their standard procedure.

They would send you an email with an attachment containing what you need to respond back to the email. i.e when you inted to take the test, account to make payments to, etc

You should receive it soon, if not you can place a call through again.

Very important advise here for the IELTS folks

My advise is pls just be urself tomoro, wake up with zeal, determination and just smile with believe to the test venue.
Don't be pressured in any way and pls save urself from any distractive discussions as it is often common at the venues. Remember ur mission there is to achieve atleast 8777 or even more. So, u can just be glancing tru the major points u've read on ur phones or, if u feel that's not necessary, then just sit, relax and guide ur tots towards ur success from dt moment.

oh! so sorry about that and thanks for educating the house. but you can have 1 yr 6 months and be eligible for EE na?

Topsmamen:
Hi folks. For those of us in the pre-ITA stage, please let us be careful when editing our EE profiles after we have already submitted.

I just made a huge mistake on my EE account!

So i had the intention of using my previous employer where i worked for 4 years, for reference letter. I guessed it wouldn't be easy but still decided to use them anyway. Just today, i realized that it might not be possible because the Executive Director is being a hard ass.....long story actually. Today, i prematurely entered an unnecessary vex mode and decided "you know what, screw that guy, i will use my current employer". Just a few minutes ago, i logged in to my profile and modified the work history section to include my current place of work where i have worked for 1 year and 6 months.......blunder! Dumbass! You can't have a 1 year/6-month experience and expect to be eligible for EE . I totally forgot! By the time i realized this, it was too late, i had already clicked the "Transmit" button. All i had to do was put my hands on my head and wait for the "Profile Ineligible" message to slide in.

Now i am pained because i had to create a new account. My previous account was created in March 2018 so i could have taken advantage of the tie-breaking rule when the draw hopefully comes down to 442 (which is my new CRS score when i claim sibling points). Now all i have to do is pray the draw comes down to 441 in December or wait it out till next year. Damn!

So please, let us exercise serious patience and caution when editing our profiles. Wrongly modifying your NOC or POF could cause your profile to be ineligible.

Moral of my story - Anger no good o, patience is key and of course, look before you leap.

Dear All,

Please, I need some clarification on work reference letter.

1.) At what point is the reference letter required, is it to assessing body for ECA or during application after ITA?. I have always thought that the reference is sent to education assessing body along with educational credentials for assessment.
reference letter is needed post ITA while submitting your application
2.) I have 3 years experience as Admin/HR officer in company A, but due to low activities the company downsized. My immediate boss and HOD are no longer with the company. How can I get reference since my bosses are no longer with the company, though I still have my employment letter and JD? I believe I can get my payslip from accounts department as some staff are still working there.
contact HR of company A requesting for reference letter,as this can be done without your HOD or immediate boss

3.) I currently work for company B for which I can get reference letter, but no evidence of tax payment as I am being paid as contract staff. What can be done in this case?
Again, just ask for reference letter from your HR. and i believe you can also get payslip too from them. Note, you only need max of 3yrs job experience to claim maximum point for job experience

Seniors in the house, please help.

Just get your reference indicating that you are software tester and you are good to fly. then evaluate your MSC

Goodskills:
Hello Good morning @ here, Just a quick question and help for a confused somebody(me). I work as a web development tester but not a web developer but I have the skills to develop a website (HTML; CSS; Javascript) but have a management background ( BSc economies and MSC innovations) . is it ok for me to pick that as my NOC if I can get my employer to include it in my work description as it was started in my offer letter that I work in the web development department.
Thanks am open to your comments..

Well, in this case if withdrawing your application will give you peace of mind and ensure you sleep peacefully at night.

Then by all means please do. After all, only you know the grey areas in your application.

No need to develop high blood pressure cos of canny waka o smiley
Zutlin:

I can only assume you don't know about AVO. If you belonged to a VO where many people are about 1year post AOR and interview dates takes 4 months to receive, you would understand why I feel the need to withdraw and try again before my IELTS expires. If you belong to a VO where even after one has done both interview and DNA testing and passed all since 3 months ago yet there's nothing but deafening silence from Accra, you would understand how serious the matter is.

If you belonged to AVO and you're over 6 months yet your file has not being touched and those with AOR before you have being told by the VO to look forward to early 2019, you will definitely become as restless as I am.

From my tone it's clear that I'm down at the moment. If you can't be helpful or comforting, please just let me be rather that make annoying assertions.

What is the solution to what you have described?

cocococo:
Must everybody go to Canada? The craze is becoming too much. Canada, Canada, Canada! Some people will be writing IELTS up to 10 times all in the name of I must leave this country! The ones that manage to pass will run here and be saying, ‘Thank God I finally made it!’. While those that finally get the PPR will not let us hear word, be quoting different dates of the stages, like I care!
You guys are the ones making these developed countries look down on us! IELTS is making the standard of exam more difficult day be day, WES is adding WAEC for ECA, IRCC is increasing minimum POF and cost of application fee! But we are still patronizing them, pumping the money into their economy! But the time you reach there with all the funds you are taking into Canada, you have pumped so much money into a foreign country, money that you cannot generate and send back into your own country Nigeria from where the funds came out from, thus depleting our country of resources.

What has happened to you is simply history and come to think of it your result is fine but didnt get you the desired scores.

As long as cash is available, i will suggest to re-register with MOD and give it another try. As they say here, it will surely end in praise.

By the way, what materials are you making use of?

The aim was to max out which will put me at 441 but my crs scores just moved from 432 to 435. *sigh.. i don't know what to do.

Or rather i know EOR should be the next step for Speaking and Writing.. but i just want someone to tell me all will be fine.

i saw a response to some tweet from IRCC not too long ago and this is accepted.
Fyorgyn:

One thing this move can achieve is that IRCC may allow people submit their applications pending when they do Medicals.

Just like what they do for countries that don't issue PCCs without a request from IRCC.

One may have to upload proof that you are booked for medicals but your appointment is way after the 60 days deadline.

Maybe we should specifically ask for this?
