Those kinda professional certifications wont add nada to your CRS scores. Academic certificates of one year and above can do the trick.

But i do believe that no matter how high CRS wants to go this year, it must surely comedown to your 447 range.

IF no time to wait cos of birthdays, then confirm if you have maxed IELTS?
daRealest:
Hello house, my CRS is 447, been waiting for ITA.
I want to ask the possibility of using a certification like PMP or any of the Microsoft certifications (MCP) to boost my CRS score.
Has anybody tried that before? Kindly advise.

Thanks plenty

Full story below grin

Decision to Travel: November 2017, after proper analysis of the inherent benefits.

Family composition: 2

POF composition: 25 % from pension fund and 75% fixed deposit

Post AOR:

- Provided reference letter of PA in desired IRCC formats.(no payslip provided)
- Thought it wise to provide reference letter for supporting applicant since majority of funds came from supporting applicant, just for 2 previous jobs though. Reference letter for current job was not included. Also no payslips. Wanted to keep application as simple and straight forward as possible.

A wise woman once told us that there is always something that needs an explanation, hence we included LOE to explain change of name, travel history and police certificate.

A separate LOE was included in the POF placeholder to properly explain composition of funds.

This implies the document is in PDF format.

Therefore, inform your friend to download and install a pdf reader on that system to view the document.

If you can get the reference letter in the desired format. that should not be a problem
However, for peace of mind it can be included in the letter that payment was made by cash.
thomyladey:
Hey Guys! I need advice...The employer I intend to use ( A secondary school) as proof of work experience paid by hand (cash). As a result, I dont have payslips so all I can get is a reference letter. Will this be a problem?

Just play around with the CRS tool to determine your scores. But you should be the PA since you are younger. For sure there is hope

Very detailed points here i must say.

Now for someone like myself(Techno-Functional consultant) in the ERP implementation space (SAP, oracle) , any advice that will be of help to me, considering i'm heading to ottawa. I have researched and confirmed availability of jobs in my specialty in Ottawa.

canadaman18:

Sauga is definitely a solid location for Software related jobs and youre close to Toronto so good pick smiley

Depends what your background is and what your area of interest is. Software development is pretty broad and I personally think its much better to become a master of one specific area and some knowledge of others than just knowing a bit of everything with no expertise in one(other developers will argue with me on this i'm sure).

In general there is Back End Development which usually involves very strong knowledge of C++, Python or Java.

And there is Front End development which nowadays involves knowledge of Frameworks such as Angular / React / Vue / Rails

There is also Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning but this is fairly advanced and while it doesnt hurt to pick up as a side interest, most jobs only hire very experienced AI engineers or PHD holders. (ofcourse there are exceptions)

There is also the dev ops / build tools route which usually involves a lot of scripting in Bash or PErl. I personally find this boring but some love it.

There is also the Database route although with noSQL technologies becoming more dominant and a lot of scaling and balancing all done automatically and cloud storage , this route I believe is a dying one.

Finally there is Full Stack Development which involves a bit of everything.

Note : the questions asked in interviews at top software companies and the ones youll see in the material I mentioned are usually language independent. Theyll focus more on complex problem solving using any language of your choice although most places from what I hear frown at using JavaScript

To finally answer your question I dont know any bridging programs per say but my advice is once you have an area of interest , use udemy or udacity to learn more about the tool stack for that area, and then work n a personal project which will look good on your resume and get you more comfortable with development. Do this alongside leetcode for optimal result .

MOD usually conduct thier speaking test at Ikeja, if you select Mainland

nelronaldo:
Please who knows the venue of MOD ielts speaking test? I know people that choose to write on the island do their speaking test at Lekki. Is it the same venue for those who choose to write on the mainland? I want to choose the mainland for my writing test but I work on the island, so it will be more convenient to get to the speaking venue from work if it's on the island.

So sorry about your IELTS result. As per your credentials evaluation, if speed is important to you, then go for WES (meaning you can quickly sort out your waec and transcript), but if speed is not important then you can use ICES.

georgeehis:
Hello all i finally took the ielt exam oooo. Here are the scores....speaking 7.5 reading 9.0 listening 8.5 then the foolish writing 6.5. I really felt bad..... calculated crs score presently is 393 but if writing is upgraded to 7 my score will be 439.(imagine the difference 0.5 can make) Peeps advised me to go get a remark. I opted for it and still waiting for the outcome.... do you think i have a chance?...and while waiting would u advice me to start up my evaluation(ECA).....because of the stress of waec and all for WES can i use ICES instead? Your tots pplllsssssss

Some deep Analytical musings here. Though there seems to be some element of truth based on current trends.

Wishing us all a speedy PPR,COPR processing.

joo2018:
Some more musings.

When I started this Canada PR journey, I heard a lot about applications of married PAs with children getting PPRs faster than single applicants. I remember @Osazee007 then always complaining about it. I also remember noticing in the PPR timelines that single applicants in Ottawa don't get it before 3 months.

For the sake of this analysis, lets say the effort involved in processing the PA and spouse is 1 unit each and children dependant is 0. In real terms, the effort to process a spouse should be like 2/3 or 3/4 unit while that of a child should be like 1/4 unit. But we will go with 1 and 0 for the sake of mathematical simplicity.

For a single PA, the effort is 1 unit and the return is 1 permanent resident. The efficiency is then 1.
For a family of 2 (PA and spouse), the effort is 2 units and the return is 2 permanent residents. The efficiency is then 1.
For a family of 3 (PA, spouse and 1 child), the effort is 2 units and the return is 3 permanent residents. The efficiency is then 3/2 = 1.5.
For a family of 4 (PA, spouse and 2 children), the effort is 2 units and the return is 4 permanent residents. The efficiency is then 4/2 = 2.
For a family of 5 (PA, spouse and 3 children), the effort is 2 units and the return is 5 permanent residents. The efficiency is then 5/2 = 2.5.

So from a logistic point of view, it makes sense for such a target driven organization to prioritize applications that will bring the best returns.

Our schedule is up to date and we have 2moro all free for this activity.

But for real, do they actually keep to their timing of 7:30 am? I guess you were also able to schedule some other convenient date.

cheers!!

Please call to reconfirm your appointment. I went to their office in December to book mine and to my surprise, i was told yesterday that my name was not on the system.

Keeping on pushing through, there will surely be a way. The good thing is that which such determination, you are more likely to conquer POF hurdle way earlier that your set time/date. Miracles still happen and a just one breakthrough is all that will change your story. I'm pretty sure you will testify soonest.
MyCheta:
It's always wonderful coming here each day to read the testimonials and insights from others.

I'm hoping on starting mine by October/November this year after I have conquered proof of funds.

You see, Proof of funds has been my setback in many opportunities I have gotten for abroad. I'm from a family where no one is rich enough to give you anything. I'm determined to conquer this POF and gift myself, my wife and my unborn kids a better future.

Conquering POF is my new year resolution. I hope I come back to share my testimony when the deed is done.
