The upper legislative chamber also, in its resolutions, called on NEMA and relevant agencies to quickly mobilize resources to rehabilitate and relieve the communities affected by the rainstorm. In presenting the motion, Senator Moro recalled that, “on April 8, 2021, over ten communities in Ogbadibo and Okpokwu Local Government Areas of Benue South Senatorial District were badly hit by a natural disaster, a devastating windstorm which left scores of people injured, hundreds of them homeless and led to a wanton destruction of properties, valuables and several means of livelihood worth millions of Naira”. Moro stressed that, “the said windstorm brought down all the blocks of classrooms of the LGEA primary school, Epeilo, the roofs of LGEA primary school Obu 1, three church Buildings and all the blocks of classrooms of LGEA primary school Odoba-Ehaje, all in Ogbadibo Local Government Area, residential buildings at Ojigo, residential buildings in Olaidu, some church Buildings, four clinics, a police station, masts, electric poles and many residential buildings in Ajide and Okpale-Otah in Okpokwu Local Government Area”. It will be recalled that, Senator Moro, had in a motion on May 12, 2020, drew the attention of the Senate to a devastating rain/windstorm disaster that swept through Aifam Community of Ogbadibo Local Government Area, wherein One Hundred and Fifty buildings and other valuables were blown off with the storm, including the roofs of 1000 Capacity St. Michael The AchAngel Catholic church, the Ahor Market and the LGEA primary School Aifam. The Chairman of Ado Local Government Area of Benue State, James Oche has said the people of Agila have no hand in the Monday morning attack on Ngbo communities of Ebonyi State. The Chairman has also described as fallacy of hasty conclusion, the reports in the media credited to the Ebonyi State Government alleging that the people of Agila are behind the attack. In a statement, the Chairman said, the victims themselves had said the attack was from herders and wondered why the Ebonyi State Government was bent on accusing his people even in the face of rumours making the rounds that the attack was a reprisal for the alleged killing of their cows. The Chairman who spoke in Igumale the Headquarters of Ado Local Government yesterday said he was dismayed by the report in the Vanguard Newsonline where the Ebonyi State Government fingered the people of Agila as being responsible for the attack. Oche said the people of Agila were peace loving and have since embraced the recommendations of the Otse Otokpa/Cyril Obazi Agila/Ngbo Intercommunity Peace and Security Committee formed by the governments of Ebonyi and Benue States and have been cooperating with the National Boundary Commission on the planned delimitation and rebeaconing exercise scheduled to hold within the axis. He further noted that falsehood was not the solution to the problem as it would deteriorate the already tensed situation. He urged the warring factions to sheath their swords & fully embrace the ongoing inter-community peace initiative of Benue & Ebonyi States Government in the interest of peace, security and development of the area. Finally, he sympathized with the the victims of the unfortunate attack and prayed Almighty God to comfort them in this very trying times. source>>>>>https://www.idomavoice.com/2021/04/attack-on-ebonyi-communities-benue-chairman-refutes-allegation-of-complicity-against-the-agila-people-of-benue-state.html

The Dunamis International Gospel Centre is set to construct another road in Abuja, the nation’s capital. IDOMA VOICE reports that the Karu/Jikwoyi branch of the church under the leadership of Pastor Usman Yakubu, on Wednesday, flagged off the project. The road, which is located between Karu and Jikwoyi communities, is expected to cost the church millions of naira. Speaking during the flag off ceremony attended by royal fathers and community leaders, Pastor Yakubu said the decision to embark on the project was part of the Dunamis vision to blanket the earth with the evidence of God’s saving, healing, delivering and lifting power everywhere people live, work or play. IDOMA VOICE observed that the road has been a nightmare for motorists and commuters in the area, especially during rainy and dry seasons. Pastor Yakubu said, “This was not done to prove any point but to show that this is what the church is all about. “This is part of the Dunamis guiding mantra, which is to blanket the earth with the evidence of God’s saving, healing, delivering and lifting power everywhere people live, work or play “This is not the first time the church would be embarking on a similar project. “Our father in the Lord, Dr. Paul Enenche and his wife, Dr.(Mrs) Becky-Enenche had in the past commissioned many projects financed by the church within and outside Abuja. “Like our father in the Lord, Dr. Paul Enenche would say, “Making meaning is superior to making money; because there are many who make money but they make no meaning. We should also note that impact is better than income. Generosity is the meaning of prosperity because prosperity without generosity equals adversity. Riches without outreach equals wretchedness.” According to the cleric, “the church of Christ would continue to be a shinning light.” Some of the royal fathers who spoke during the event hailed the church for always setting the pace. Recall that in February and March 2020, Dr. Paul Enenche commissioned road projects financed by the church in Mararaba (Nasarawa) and Kubwa (Abuja). Here are pictures and video from the flag off ceremony. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giYO9fi6OSg https://www.idomavoice.com/2021/04/dunamis-church-set-to-construct-another-road-in-abuja.html
