samistry:Ryan Murphy a top shelf showrunner, i mean, this man gave me "Monsters", but he is a crazy nutter for putting Kim K, at the front of this.... she's like 90% the total complaints about the show, the other 10% being the chat-gpty plot...A successful divorce female lawyer lead a firm of all women fighting divorce for women who want to leave thier marriage at the slightest ick?...there isn't a more cringe, rage baity, desperately trying to belong with the times plot than this piece of pretentious shït. Not saying i am happy it is failing spectacularly but that RT score is hilarious as hell and well deserved 👏🏿👏🏿 |
DieRich5:El Bomba special 💣🔥🙌🏿. Except she is a producer or something, who genuinely makes a TV show, and thinks let me Cast Fking Kim Kardashian?? 😭😭 she tried acting sometime ago, and it was a blubbering mess...she can't act to save her life, even on her on family scripted reality show fgs. The number of slops that makes it out as "Tv shows" these days is alarming...dire state we are in 😩 |
The King’s birthday was this week, and I was just thinking out loud , is there even a more relatable “Bollywood” face than this legend? At least outside of India, here in Nigeria, he is Mr. Bollywood, that much I know. My formative years of getting into Bollywood lore and falling in love with it had so much to do with him. A genre-bending actor, he could be anything! a perfect testament to how good he truly is. From Deewana (1992) to Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa (1994), Don (2006), Om Shanti Om (2007), and Jawan (2023), we’ve witnessed a master at his absolute peak. I remember a fond memory from the early 2000s in my family home (Bollywood freaks, these lot 😭). We had just rented Duplicate (1998) on VHS back when VHS rental clubs were a thing and we were still a high-trust society 😭. We all gathered around the one singular 12inch barely coloured JVC telly in the house to watch the King play two versions of himself, Bablu, an aspiring chef, and Manu, a gang*ter. He played both roles with such delicate dexterity that it got the whole house divided on who to side with, and let’s be honest, Manu was looking really appealing 👀😩. A memory I’ll cherish forever. Maybe Amitabh Bachchan rivals his popularity, but it’s negligible, in my opinion. I remember tweeting about Jawan and the King back in 2023 and Indians camped in my mentions for weeks. The King is 60 this week, and perhaps in the twilight of his illustrious career, but he remains an absolute legend. I’m just grateful to have witnessed his greatness over the years. Happy Belated Birthday, King Shah Rukh Khan!! 🥳🎉

Task (2025) Kinda meh, tbh... This promised a gritty crime drama but ultimately delivered an unnecessary family drama for 90% of the time. The plot, which was illogical, btw just meanders into various subplots and turns into a bit of a mess as the show goes on. They had this mid-season shootout showdown, which quite frankly should have been the end. After that, they had nothing of note left to show, just unnecessary, over-the-top, sloppy drama under the guise of tying up loose ends, which I frankly had zero care for. So I just fast-forwarded till the end. Worse still, the 1-hour runtime per episode was overkill, as the plot simply didn’t have the juice to justify it. They threw in a “good guy working with the bad guys” twist for shock value, but it had very little effect on me, I was already tapped out by then. The casting choice was also questionable. I like Mark Ruffalo, but I don’t think he can lead a Boy Scouts troop, let alone an FBI task force aiming to solve a crime like this. He just lacks the poise and demeanor to pull it off. The shot was solid, and the score was nice and that’s pretty much all I enjoyed. A difficult recommend if you’re expecting something in the ranks of other HBO crime dramas before it. 5/10

Yemike:Top 5 fr in that genre and it's neither 4th nor 5th.....just too good 💥 |
samistry:first 30 seconds of that trailer lèsan, I folded faster than a late bloomer seeing his first pair of milkers* 🍒😩🤭. Them too sabi this thing i swr, i see why them dey always mouth off 👍🏿
|
Beorn:Maaannn.... wahala punish nonchalant 😩🥳....i dey on board wella! Plus i get why they have basically scattered the episodes over 2 months, as against Netflix's mo of releasing everything once...i mean this is basically their most prized asset, and looking at how long it took to make, dropping everything once, might negate against a sustained hype, since it's the final season...i think they did same with "Arcane S2" or so...anyway, i am seated! |
abduleez1:🫣🫣🤭.....
|
lool....I tried the nonchalant gimmick ever since they announced this S5, because of the sheer number years it took to make, but seeing the trailer, i am so so moved! 😩😩..The Duffer Brothers are too good with this thing, imagine me not getting pumped by this, basically one of the best shows in the last 10 years or so! Bismillah.....I will be there 👍🏿 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PssKpzB0Ah0
|
abduleez1:lol..Yeah, decided i was actually going to see it, i am way too invested now to jump ship. |
Kaycee7:likee i didn't see that gutter quality trailer they released...it has to be a paid review, but i am low-key tempted 👀, but make una here put body first 🤭 |
Omooo... Who is onto this yet? Are we back? or is Variety baiting me with gimmick because Wallahi, I don't remotely trust this Liam fella to pull off a convincing "Geralt" 😩😩😩
|
Kaczynski:I did a re-run of the entire 3 seasons last year and this is genuinely one of the best shows ever made. So so intriguing and one of the best time travel paradox scripts ever written...does your head in but the most believable in the set of media trying to demystify time travel. Easily one of Netflix's best catalogue ✨💥⏳ |
Kaycee7:Mannnn. I have studied the conflict and the psyche behind it, to always be peaceful confrontation, when that fails before full blown conflict, but in Nigeria, as with all things, it is remarkably the opposite. People here will rather soon come to fisticuffs, then a peaceful confrontation to resolve the conflict at hand. I don't know if it's the poverty, diverse ethno religious interests or the extremely low HDI, or quite possibly the combination of all these...but our fuse is so so short, and so any law that freely out guns in the hands of any rabid on the street here shouldn't even be up for debate. |
abduleez1:I thought WB were doing well financially? Aren't they the owners of successful brands like WB movies, DC comics, CNN, HBO max, and Warner Music. Quite Baffling. |
The Long Walk (2025) Great premise, almost zero bite For all the monotony and mundanity I've complained about in movies these days, dystopian films might actually be the most jaded. I mean, they can only go one way, a band of rag-tags trying to topple a totalitarian regime. This rehashes and reheats what countless others have done before, but falls flat, despite having everything it needed to be a really great movie. Adapted from Stephen King’s very first book, they decided to rip it apart and change all the key elements including the ending only to end up in the same clichéd dystopian pitfall. A group of young men in a supposedly economically bedridden America enter a marathon-long Walk to inspire “hope,” with slackers shot along the way. I couldn’t root for this weak a** premise!. America is supposedly suffering a world-ending economic crisis, but you can’t see it in the faces of these boys, they look well-fed as hell and almost happy to join a certain death, one winner race. They were just jovial about it, so the seriousness is out the window from the jump. In Stephen King’s book, you can feel the dread, crowds lining both sides of the road, making side bets on who would die first. But in the movie? These guys look like they’re on some Man O’ War drill. One idiot even joins the race just to write a book about it. And the ending? predictable AF. From minute one, you know exactly what they’re building toward. The cast performances elevate it a bit. Some strong dialogue actually pulled some emote out of me. I was particularly pleased with David Jonsson. Him and Damson Idris might genuinely be the most bankable young Black actor right now. I’ve seen him play an investment banker (Industry, 2020), a loverboy (Rye Lane, 2023), even an android (Alien: Romulus, 2024), and now this!. This is impeccable range if you ask me in such a short filmography. He’s definitely headed to the top. The praise this got from film festivals earlier in the year is baffling in hindsight. It barely scrapes pasts “bang average.” Still watchable tho, but not because it is of particularly high quality, far from it. It’s just that there have been so much garbage movies out this year, that we’re in a kingdom of the blind situation.... the one-eyed man is the f**king king! We’re almost in November, and I still can’t string together five truly high quality movies from this year. I’m holding out hope for "Hamnet" (2025) and "No Other Choice" (2025) to save the year for me. If not, what an absolutely torrid year for movies it has been! 6/10

OhBritannia:Spot on!. At first, i thought the story was a bit superficial and way over the top, but as it unfolded, i began to realise, it was pretty well written and so so enjoyable. Yeah, good film, niche tho, but good 👍🏿. |
"The Perfect Neighbor" (2025) "When everyone is allowed a hammer, everything in sight starts to look like a nail..." True crime docu are one of my favourite genres, especially those that use actual footage from the crime rather than just reenactments, and that’s why this one was so, so good. Though the subject matter was sad af, the execution critically highlights the dangers of unfettered access to guns. It follows, through actual body cam footage, the altercations between Mrs. Ajike Owens (Black) and Mrs. Susan Lorincz (White) from 2022 to 2023, culminating in the tragic moment when Mrs. Owens went over to Lorincz’s house to demand why she had apparently seized her kid’s iPad. Lorincz fired a single shot through her door, claiming trespassing and allegedly “fearing for her life,” fatally wounding Mrs. Owens. All this happened in Florida, a state with a strict “Stand Your Ground” law that allows the use of deadly force if one feels even slightly threatened, especially on one’s own property. That was Mrs. Lorincz’s defence in court, but the state was able to prove she was just a whack job, a proper nutcase! who deliberately shot Mrs. Owens out of pure, unbridled hatred, possibly with racial undertones. It’s no coincidence that the U.S. ranks among the highest in gun violence globally. When everyone has the legal right to carry “heat,” it becomes open season for every whack job, crackhead, racist, and the mentally unstable. That’s why I’ll always be against gun ownership in Nigeria. The benefits might seem worthwhile, but I’ve never seen a people so angry as us!. Two nut jobs driving on Third Mainland Bridge on a bright morning could get into an argument over the slightest, most irrelevant thing, now imagine if they both had the right to pack “heat” 😩. Anyway, if you love true crime docu, this is an easy, easy recommend, like it is so well done....It’s such a shame that an avoidable situation left children without their mother’s love forever, and a woman behind bars for a long time for manslaughter , all because she couldn’t control her anger. 8/10

abduleez1:Hmmmm this has a strong potential to be a classic 2/10 💥 because what am i even supposed to be looking at?? 😭😭 |
pu7pl3:The story could actually go on and on, but my own rift is that, the scriptwriters would want to infuse thier own element deviating from the Bible for dramatic purposes, which they were already doing in S1. |
deltateam:This was a classic one off/one season show tbh. They ended S1 with some silly set up for a S2, and i was like what the hell are these guys doing?? The script writers were already veering too much from the Holy Book, by the end of that S1, so i had all but given up on an S2 personally, cuz what were they gonna try to show me in S2? How David rizzed up, Uria's wife? ![]() |
The scene!!!....it really doesn't get better than this....peak acting 💥💥 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDFdroN7d0w |
RE: Marriage Story (2019) Marriage is 2019 was the last truly great year for movies for me. It’s not the least bit ironic that it was the last year when we had it all, then Covid came, and the world has gone to sh*t ever since. I’ve been doing a little revisit of films from that year this past week, and it was finally the turn of this gem. Charlie Barber and Nicole Barber are on the brink of divorce. They think they can go through it amicably, forgetting that it’s conflict itself that brought them there in the first place. They soon realize divorces are messy, like it’s literally a battle. The leads are what make this film so special. I’ve always thought Adam Driver is an exceptional actor, there’s this poise and quiet intensity in his performances. Sure, he’ll always be known as Kylo Ren, but it’s his work in indie films that really shows his range. His portrayal of Charlie Barber is perhaps the most believable, nuanced depiction of a man on the verge, losing his marriage, his child, his career, and really, his life in the sense of it. The only reason he didn’t win Best Actor that year was because Joaquin Phoenix decided 2019 was also his year to do a total madness! Scarlett Johansson as Nicole Barber was equally brilliant, like i am talking "Lost in Translation" (2003) and Her (2013) top form. One could clearly see, she was almost contractually free from the MCU by then, rent was due and then she needed to act out her heart!, and not just the robotic acting needed to play The "Black Widow". Noah Baumbach and Greta Gerwig are probably my favourite filmmaker power couple, and they were going band for band that year, Noah with this and Greta with Little Women (2019). There’s this one scene between Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson that I honestly think might be the best dialogue scene in my recent memory. It starts out calm and conversational, then snowballs into a full-blown confrontation, ending in this gut-wrenching moment where Driver’s character explodes and says “I wish you’d get an illness and just die, dead in a way, if I could guarantee our son would be okay.”! The instant he realizes what he’s said, to the mother of his child, to someone he once loved or most likely still loved, he collapses to the floor, sobbing, whispering, “I’m sorry"!😩 Mann!… it’s like the director yelled “cut,” and they both just refused to stop. So raw, so real. An absolute acting masterclass! This is the kind of film i can see over and over again.... Top shelf stuff, really! 🔝 8/10

Matt Reeves is on the this table too fgs. This brother gave me peak in 2022, promised a sequel immediately, and he is only just completing the script in 2025!, some 3 years after...Yeah the state of television and movies is so bottom barrel now, so much so AI should actually take over film making, maybe things would get done faster fgs.! |
BlackManta:These brothers ruined Tv tbh. Other Tv show now think, it is cool to take long breaks between seasons. Worse still, it's not for any major creative reasons, Stranger Things for eg., is like 70% CGI, which normally shouldn't take that long, but they keep stalling to increase perceived buzz and economic value, of which if your show is really top tier, it will have an everlasting buzz and people will keep going back to it, thus earning more money. So doesn't the script and the premise look stupid to them now? They casted preteen kids in junior high, and now said kids, are all but Adults and we should just run along with it ba? Sickening. Every studio was running a tight ship that year, you should return with a new season every year, or loose your contract. Vampire Diaries was fantasy to a bit, but returned every year for 7 years unbroken, and now i am scanning YouTube for recaps of new seasons of shows now, because i can't basically remember the last season. Seee, i am the least bit excited about this "Stranger Things" final run tbh, i just want to get it over with and be done.... nonsense upon ingredients 😩😩 |
abduleez1:This show started in 2016 and this is the fifth season!! I have all but forgotten what even happened in the last season, which was 3 whole years ago! 😭😭. This show is all that is wrong about TV shows these days, because there wasn't a logical reason it has taken this long. Millie Bobby Brown was 12 years old when this show started, now she is married with a kid!! Yeah, the show should come and go abeg...i have zero anticipation for it, infact, i am having an inkling this final season sucks balls. |
abduleez1:This is site is even long overdue for a dedicated app and real time notifications delivery...but i guess the vision of the owner isn't as big i thought or he has made so much bread from here and he is simply satisfied the way things are. |
abduleez1:Wallahi is it me or those the CC and grading looking like that of LOTR?!😩😩...but i am there shaa ✌🏿👉🏿👉🏿👉🏿 |
Baddestguyp:It did above 600m greens globally, and smashed it domestically, so it just about broke even, and no, it wasn't a box office bomb. |
abduleez1:This bot thing has always been an issue, but it has never been thus bad. If you are going to censor this much, leave it to the mods, and not just a bot with no filter. It makes engaging on here tiring tbh. They made all those silly visual changes that we don't really need, and left the core UX out. See i don tire sef 😩😩 |
abduleez1:The worse thing, there is no list of censored words, so you basically don't know what to say, and what not to say each time you post!. A constant battle with the useless bot, banning you 5 times a day, for trying to just have a convo here... annoying really. |
RE: Parasite (2019) Ki-taek: They are rich but still nice. Chung-sook: They are nice because they are rich.! It might sound cliché at this point to call this a masterpiece, but watching it again, it’s hard to argue otherwise. This is, ironically, my first rewatch since 2020 and like a fine wine that gets better with age, I found myself noticing new angles and shifting perspectives, hence this review. The title itself is ambiguous in contrast to the narrative, throwing off the scent of who exactly the “Parasite” in the film really is. It follows the Kim family, a poor household living almost underground to depict their low status , who cunningly infiltrate the lives of the ultra-wealthy Park family. However, just as they begin to enjoy the spoils of their con, they uncover secrets buried literally beneath them, realizing that no matter how low they thought they were, there’s always someone lower. What follows is an explosive third act that exposes the fragile boundary between the rich and the poor. Back to the ambiguity of the title, from the three-family arc, there are really only two “Parasites.” The Kim Family — “The Original Parasite.” I’m most pissed at this lot because they were parasites out of laziness and a desire to experience comfort and luxury with minimal hard work. All the members of this family were skilled and intelligent enough to climb their way up legitimately, but they deliberately chose deception instead. Moon-gwang and Geun-sae — “The Original Original Parasite.” I’m not as pissed at this pair because they were parasites out of necessity, escaping loan sharks and simply trying to survive. Moon-gwang had a decent job and was cohabiting peacefully with her host until the Kim family barged in and ruined everything. The Park Family — “The Host.” After my first watch, I thought this family were parasites too, leeching off free labor from the other two families. But seeing it again, I think they’re actually blameless. They provided employment to those families, allowing them to escape the mundanity of daily struggles like cooking, tutoring, or driving. They worked hard to earn that life, and honestly, anyone aspiring to be wealthy desires the same comfort. There’s a lesson in how tragically these three families ended. The disparity between the rich and the poor has never been wider, and there’s a pressing need to close that gap. Nobody owes anyone anything, but I do feel the rich and the government can do more to create an environment where "collective wealth" thrives. Not everyone will be an Elon Musk or a Dangote, but with shared prosperity, everyone can afford a decent living and the poor shouldn’t just settle for being “parasites.” The cinematography is top-tier and perfectly complements the narrative: the Park family’s hilltop, well-lit home contrasts sharply with the Kim family’s dim, semi-basement dwelling , a visual metaphor for the class divide. There’s one scene , my absolute favourite, that encapsulates the film’s entire message. After a heavy rainstorm, Mr. Kim drives Mrs. Park home from shopping for a garden party, and she calls the downpour a blessing! She even decides to host a party to celebrate, while Mr. Kim looks straight ahead in silent disgust, because that same downpour has just rendered him and his family homeless. That’s what the film is about! Bong Joon-ho crafted an all-timer, ngl and this remains one of my favourite films ever. Easy, easy recommend! 💐 9/10
