abduleez1:Omooo..i don tire sef 😩😩. I was trying to give a a review and i don't even know the exact words that set Antyspamy off... annoying stuff tbh |
abduleez1:Broooo...My folks might be wondering why Netflix is recommending anime and Kpop related content to them for the next few weeks, but i dey on "plausible deniability" mode 👀😊. But truth be told, shii was low key fire! ngl 😩, with a very decent soundtrack too, and the streets are saying it is one of Netflix's highest streamed media ever!, i just had to dig in fgs |
Baddestguyp:They brought it here?? Omdsssss 😩😩😩....I have been seeing people stories on how ridiculously nice a watch it was on the big screen, particularly on IMAX. I am so vexed, i am just starting the show , so i can't see it now fgsss 😭😭 |
Kaycee7:Henry Cavill must have the most rotten luck ever in this industry.... He's the archetype profile for roles like this, and somehow something will just go wrong and the project will go astray 😩😩. Liam Hemsworth una, I have absolutely zero reasons why i should be seeing this filth tbh. |
DieRich5:AOT is like ground zero for anime fandom..No? The absolute GOAT of this meduim 💥💥. Naruto, AOT and One Piece, are perhaps the holy trinity of Anime...the Ultimate starter pack... Honourable mentions are "Bleach, Death Note and Dragon Ball Z. |
Bro was a demon and a misogynist...like what the hell was that terrible combo fgs 😬😩😩....My man Tanjiro wasn't having it and gladly smite this Mf tongue 😅

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba S1 (2019). Yeah, it’s pretty decent. I had been holding off on this while trying to find a good English dub, but in the end I went with the Japanese dub, because hearing it in the native language feels far more grounded, more authentic. The modern format of “non-filler” seasonal batches that post-2010 anime embraced really works here. No wasted time, no side quests that drag the story, just straight to the point. From the very first episode, Tanjiro returns home to find his family massacred by a demon, and that single moment carves the path that leads him into the Demon Slayer Corps. The character development arc is excellent, watching Tanjiro grow not just as a fighter, but as someone who carries empathy even for the monsters he faces. I am not particularly sold on the Zenitsu guy yet, but let's see what happens so we go on. By the end of S1, you feel like you’ve only just stepped into a much larger world, and I can’t wait to see where S2 takes it.. 7/10

Calibrator:It's probably the worst one in the franchise imo. it lacked any proper cohesive story telling and they thought they could just pepper over it with one ridiculous stunt after another, and that runtime of almost 3 hours? Totally ridiculous and uncalled for, i basically had a migraine by the end of it, and these Mfs were going on about some "Key" and in a bid to tie it to the other movies in the franchise, ran into avoidable plot holes. For the so called final film in the franchise, the ending felt nothing like it, flat and unremarkable, it surprisingly looked more like a setup for another one, should incase OG Tom Cruise run into money problems sometime in the future, i could easily seeing him doing one more fgs 😩. This franchise should have ended like 3 movies ago, and this slop epitomizes that fact. |
Kaycee7:I'm hinging my argument on it been a Musical + Kpop maann 😬, Run a poll here and am so sure, more than half of the guys here would hate it, because of those 2 traits 👀 |
Kaycee7:Lmaoooo...Bruhhh...I have avoided it for so long, but i just had to give in and i quite enjoyed myself 🙈🙈. But you'd have to admit, that it is such a niche peice of media 👀 |
Weapons (2025). Matthew 2:17. Now, a typical horror flick almost always has two layers: “How it happened” and “Why it happened.” But Weapons is no ordinary horror film. It leans heavily into “How it happened” something that was even splattered across the trailers while the “Why” is never spoon-fed. You have to work it out yourself. And that’s why I think this is such a technically brilliant film. How It Happened From the trailers alone, most people could already grasp the central premise. As I mentioned earlier: 17 kids from the same class suddenly wake up at exactly 2:17 a.m. and run into the night in the same strange, synchronized fashion. This chilling event is the very first scene, the film doesn’t waste time getting to the core mystery. Why It Happened What followed was simply brilliant filmmaking. As the small-town community tries to unravel the mystery, the film dives into a non-chronological style of storytelling. Each thread is told through the POV of different central characters. A dramatic or shocking moment is shown first, then the film rewinds to reveal the events leading up to it, filling in the blanks while also building character depth. The narrative explores how such a traumatic event can tear apart the fabric of a town, exposing secrets, scapegoating, and rising accusations as tensions boil higher each day the kids remain missing. By the time the story moves toward its final act, I was initially worried, the filmmaker seemed to be withholding too much context after such an excellent buildup. But the deeper the act unfolded, the more clarity it offered, and by the end, I was left deeply satisfied. One thing I especially loved, something rare in horror films, was the dramatic, almost theatrical tone. It allowed for stronger character arcs and made the main cast more compelling. Julia Garner, who I honestly couldn’t stand in Ozark, truly surprised me here; she delivered a weighty, nuanced performance. Josh Brolin was solid as always. The cinematography deserves special praise too. The recurring use of dark frames with a single lit element in the center created an unsettling, beautiful visual style that I absolutely loved. I see why, Jordan Peele reportedly fired his team when they lost rights to this. It is such a technically brilliant and well scripted film with a lot to unpack and a lot of symbolism to unravel, hence the many pieces and explanations online, trying to decipher what the film was truly about, and that's what a good film does to you, and i probably believe the hype now, not that this year has been littered with good films, this is one of the very good ones. A special.... special....film 8/10

NeoWanZaeed:Not really my kinda genre tbh, but at the end, i found myself extremely well entertained....i mean decent enough plot, decent enough animation, kinda like that of "Arcane", and decent OST too. But i think only a selected crowd would enjoy it tho, has a certain K-pop infused sugary pop feel. |
Depsite the obvious "Oscar baity" ambience, this really looks promising plus it is a Benny Safdie x A24 collabo, and for once, DW looks like he is actually "acting" 😬 So..i am totally psyched! 💨 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJuS4baeaxU |

When Life Gives You Tangerines (2025) “Thanks to you I was never lonely for a day. Not even for a day. Where could you ever find a life like this?” – Oh Ae Sun About a month ago, I was bored out of my mind. Work felt uninspiring, my few guilty pleasures had lost their spark, and I was desperately in need of something to rekindle a sense of purpose. Then I stumbled upon this show and one month later, I can confidently say this is perhaps the best K-Drama I have ever seen. Wait… it might actually be one of the best TV drama I have ever seen, period!. This isn’t the kind of K-Drama that screams for attention. It moves at a brutally slow pace, unfolding in bits over 16 long, deliberate episodes. What emerges is a decades-spanning love story between two star-crossed lovers, set against the changing tides of Jeju Island, South Korea. Ae-Sun and Gwan-Sik carry us from their tumultuous childhood in the 1960s to bittersweet reflections in the 2000s. The show’s strength doesn’t lie in adrenaline or spectacle, but in a stillness, sunlit mornings, divers at sea, runaway lovers, petulant children, and dialogues heavy with what’s left unsaid. It’s a full buffet of emotions: tears, joy, despair, laughter, happiness, the whole lot. The pacing drifts like the tide and might feel tedious to some, but its time-hopping structure is part of its charm. One moment you’re in the 1960s, the next in the 2000s, yet there’s always a seamless connection. It emphasizes that memory is not linear, and there’s never really a “wrong” time. Rather than drowning us in tragedy, as the premise might suggest, the show offers a softer, more sustaining melancholy. It reminds us that love can be ordinary yet profound, fleeting yet eternal. The casting is simply top-tier. The actors who played Ae-Sun and Gwan-Sik across different ages gave such convincing performances that every stage of their lives felt genuine and alive. I now realize why it took me a whole month to finish it, it’s not a show to be rushed. It’s best savoured slowly, like peeling a tangerine in the actual sense. After finishing the final episode last night, I found myself wanting to believe again in all the beauty this life has to offer. An unforgettable show and quite simply unforgettable K-Drama!. 9/10.

I’ve been following the Venice Film Festival all week, and it seems as though RT is hell-bent on giving every screening a 100% score. But two films with perfect ratings have especially caught my eye both of which I’ve been anticipating for a while. It is often said that little is known about the personal life of perhaps the greatest playwright the world has ever known. William Shakespeare suffered a loss so heartbreaking, so devastating, that it inspired him to write the greatest play in literary history: Hamlet X And then remember Oldboy? Remember Decision to Leave? Well, Park Chan-wook is back with another black comedy. This time, a proper career man suddenly finds himself out of a job and, in order to keep up the façade of a good life, there’s no telling what he’ll do. The film has already been selected as South Korea’s entry for the next Oscars’ Best International Feature category, ahead of its wider public premiere. I honestly cannot wait to see these two films. And even though their premiere dates are still months away, like my Niger Delta sister Ayo Edebiri would say...."I am so, so deeply seated! 😩

"pigeonholed" indeed fgs...This brother is so funny. Like he and his team vetted, and accepted roles and the massive paychecks that came with them, that actually made him one of the highest paid actors, to ever touch this industry, did he think filmmakers doling that much cash didn't know what they were doing?. They quite knew bro, had the acting range of a snail, but they knew the had a certain "aura" that was a massive BO draw, till unfortunately it wasn't, so coupled with other self destructing factors, the industry quietly eased him back into a premature oblivion...Nobody "pigeonholed" you, Big man...They quite knew, yous was only good as a "brawler" and were happy to give you that role over and over again, and any other role that required any sort of technical acting was reserved for actors with actual talent...I mean this MF, might actually be the least talented, of all the actors that pivoted from the WWE. Now i seem to be engaging more of "The Critical Drinker's" post these days , and he did a fantastic piece on him last week or so, that succinctly encapsulates the whole thing. "The Smashing Machine" (2025) is actually one of my most anticipated movies, the trailer looks decent, and easily looks like a script that a good actor can flex plus Benny Safdie is such an underrated indie gem filmmaker, that knows how to bring the best in actors, I mean look at what Robert Pattison did in "Good Time" (2017) and Adams Sandler in "Uncut Gems" (2019)...norm bending all timer performances from both actors in both so if DJ can't smash this, then he might be actually cooked in this industry 😩😩

abduleez1:Broo...i know you are trying to be as patriotic as possible and sound optimistic, but the stark reality is that Nigeria is light years behind organising something on a the scale of an F1 race, if i was a proper betting man, i would put money down, that is not happening in the next 50 years!. You are looking at it from a very "narrow lens", focusing on organising the race itself, which infact is more than that. By hosting an F1 Race, you are not just hosting the race, but the "economy" behind it, I don't know if you catch my drift. It will bring a large volume of people, that comprises of fans, television crews, celebrities, sponsors franchises which you have to cater for their logistics, security etc. Countries that haven't conquered industrialization to the latter, can't even begin to dream of this.... Even some circuits in some well developed countries, have lost F1 hosting status, just because of a little lapse. You are saying, "20MW" will be dedicated to the race 😂😂... like how many MW do you think the whole country is sharing? 😂. Check all the countries that currently host a "Formula 1", they have one particular thing in common... massive industrialization!, they have widespread constant electricity, good roads everywhere, mono rails that isn't just located in one place!, and most importantly, more than 90% of thier population aren't living in bone crushing poverty, which this is the case with this hellhole. The founding fathers of America and the likes, knew this, conquered industrialization early, and that's why those nations thrive now, and can be able to host F1 races, without doing mental gymnastics on where to find 20MW to dedicate to it 😩. There are some F1 races that happens at night with artificial lighting and the likes, and you genuinely think 20MW will cut it?? All what you have suggested, is just using a small plaster to cover a very large wound, and that's how the government of the day thinks...They think they can just "palliative" thier way to a great economy, which i am very sure will always end in futility. If the FIA are considering countries to host a Formula One Race, i am pretty sure, this hellhole, doesn't even remotely cross their minds, reason being and my point being, it takes "proper" country to host a Formula one Race, and Nigeria is as at the very north infinity opposite of proper... |
abduleez1:I saw "Materialist" for a potential best picture and i just burst out laughing, i mean they can't actually be serious if it eventually gets nominated. It was a little above meh, and they are probably gonna nominate it, because it's a Celine Song flick fgs. Well if they do, i might actually start another hate campaign, till it fails at the Oscars, like the successful one i ran for that dirtbag of a film, "Emilia Perez", last year 🤭 |
cao:Because "40 Characters and more" minimum has you and the other guy on a headlock 😩🤭 |
F1: The Movie (2025) “Hope is not a strategy… drive fast.” When Apple and WB team up on a movie, you don’t need a prophet to tell you the production value is going to be top-tier and that’s exactly what this was. The visuals were stunning, the sound design was superb, and overall it made for a very enjoyable viewing experience. The plot, however, was largely predictable. It borrowed heavily from previous motor-racing films, the classic old head vs. young head, stubborn rivals pushing each other to the limits trope, seen in Rush (2013) and Ford v Ferrari (2019). The difference is, those films were based on historical events, while this was purely fictional. That should have given the creators enough room to try something new and make it truly stand out in the racing genre, but they played it safe. Brad Pitt shines, as always, carrying much of the film's finest moments almost single-handedly. The rest of the cast also delivered solid performances, but Pitt’s presence is what really elevates the whole thing Now, on the production side, I can’t overstate how impressive it was. They went above and beyond to make it feel authentic shooting on actual F1 circuits, incorporating real F1 drivers into the footage, and blending it all seamlessly into the narrative. That said, there is a reason why F1 nerds are eating it up (which I am), you’ll notice plenty of continuity errors and technical details that just wouldn’t hold up in a real race. But here’s the thing, I didn’t come to see an actual Formula One race!. I came to see a movie, one that just happens to be about Formula One. And on that front, it delivered. Factually accurate? Absolutely not. Entertaining? 101%. 7/10

samistry:Critics have seen the whole thing, and hence the comparisons with TDK and Penguin and it's not just based on this one episode. |
I saw Peacemaker S2 E1 and you could easily tell why this sub-genre is perhaps James Gunn's bread and better. It is just so so stellar... it's a superhero show, but it encompasses everything else, comedy, crime, drama, you just name it....I don't want to jump the Gunn, but this has a strong potential of being this year's "Penguin". I can't wait to see it all unfold... special special show 💐

Kaycee7:I wasn't even vexed that the relationship arc been over or not, my issue was that the relationship "blossoming from the scratch" element wasn't even there to begin with, and for the supposed first movie in an extended universe, this would have been an important piece. "Beaten by every random goon Lex Luthor threw at him" How many goons did Lex throw at him and how many beat him? The only character Supes had trouble beating was Ultraman, his own clone. The beaten by every random goon that Lex Luthor could throw at him" is clearly a hyperbole because said goons were few, but let's not act like the Engineer wasn't having the time of her life against Supes in that Baseball field fight scene, btw, this was one of the best shot scene in the entire thing, i will give it that. As much as this is a Superman movie, it is also consciously and deliberately kicking off a shared cinematic universe with a premise that multiple characters already know each other and have some sort of relationship. Which is why it makes sense for the Justice Gang to get a decent amount of screentime. The end of the second arc and almost the entirety of the third arc definitely takes the attention away from "Superman". The Captain America: Civil War you cited, was like the third film in that franchise, the first one way back in 2011, already established why he was infact "Captain America", so anything they were doing in Winter Soldier(2014) and Civil War (2016), came as no suprise, and so i stand firmly on the point that "The Justice Gang" had an unhealthy dose of screen time, in a supes movie, if they are plans of them to be in a shared universe with 'Superman", then imo, it would have been best to ease them in lightly, This is where I'm going to have to flat out disagree. This definitely feels like launch of a meaningful universe. Why? Because if you want a long running series/franchise, you want characters that your audience want to see more of.I haven't hidden my admiration for David Corenswet's portrayal of "Superman", he totally embodies the character 100%, and i would definitely loved to see him more, but i might have been too harsh on my final assesment that it builds or leads to nowhere, but Bruh, in all honesty, It felt like a "One off", at the end for me, felt like James Gunn, wanting to impress so bad, dealt all his cards in this, so if he is able to spawn a successful universe and franchise from this, i will be the happiest tbh. And in conclusion, It might just be a case of "standing too close to Elephant" for me, as initial reactions are not always a finality. You know how adulting gets really really busy these days, so i had to squeeze out time to see it, almost immediately it dropped on VOD, with an overbearing weight of expectations. But since then, certain contexts and nuances have come to light, so of which you have stated, so i may have to give it a second look, at least, for all it's perceived flaws, nobody can deny that it is, very very pretty to look at and extremely well shot, so a second watch might give me a much better perspective. |
Baddestguyp:I am so open to a "Justice Gang" movie ngl, chief among the reasons being it will be James Gunn's wheelshouse and i was totally moved by their cameo in the Supes movie.👀👀. Btw, we don mention James Gunn name tire for these threads this week....what a man...Baba go don sneeze tire 🤧🤭🤭 |
GloriousGbola:Exactly, it is not even morally wrong, infact it is the most normal thing to do. Like the film in question, Imagine 3 time best oscar actor winner, coming out of hiatus to star in a film, i will definitely want to see it, and also be interested in the film maker who pulled this move, that is already a great career headstart!, now who wouldn't want this for their flesh and blood?. I have been seeing some recent trends of "Old money" not wanting their kids to follow in their footsteps, and some going as far as cutting their kids from their will, to teach them a "lesson about the world" and i just think it is utter woke garbage crap...like this is your actual flesh and blood, like the actual seeds from your loins? How is giving them the best headstart in their careers and lives, a bad thing??😭😭 |
Kaycee7:Bruhhhh.😩😩.... not saying people don't blow up out of thin air, but nepotism is the oldest trick in the book not only in showbiz, but in corporate world as well... nothing says, this fella is a 100% fit for this job like a nepo glazed reference on one's CV. I know it's a long stretch, but i dare say nepotism might be a greater career needle mover than actual talent and hard work ngl, and if one has all three, oh the unprecedented doors it will open. Still in early development and data gathering, but i am currently working on a paper, roughly titled, ""How Nepotism is the Greatest Talent, there is", ooh i just know i will make some interesting finds 🙈 |
pu7pl3:😬. I just saw a sneak peak of what looks like the opening scene of S2 on X, so it seems the animation is done, maybe they are in post prod. now, so it shouldn't be long before it's out 🤭 |
Palehair:Nepotism has always been a thing in Hollywood for a very long time, No? Heck, Francis Copolla inserted his daughter in The Godfather lore way back in the 70s, basically catapulting her career. M. Night Shyamalan includes his Daughters in his project even when it's clear other people could do a better job, even one of the daughters had to admit, she got the chance to adapt one of Ireland's biggest books, simply because of her last name. My point is, nepotism exists everywhere, and i am not even mad about it. No parent who can certainly soft lunch thier kid's career, will fold their hands and not do it, because that kid being successful in any field, tells on great on their own parenting too. DDL has always insisted on the gimmick that he his retired after bagging an unprecedented 3 Oscars, it was always gonna take, some sweet savoring nepotism to bring him back...so fairs i guess |
Baddestguyp:Not everyone needs to give you an essay why they call any media they like a masterpiece, they owe you nothing.... especially in a forum like this when literally nothing it's at stake...it borders on self entitlement and silly narcissm....If Ohbrizztaxx rates every slops he sees 10/10...make i go break him phone? Ontop wentin? 😩😩. If someone is ready to give you reasons why they think a particular media is a masterpiece, fine, if they don't, it's also fine, this is not the place to be looking for standards....just try dey rest, it's not that deep really |
abduleez1:Special.... Special.... Masterpiece of a show... 💐💐.... We are unbelievably so back....but this one that Netflix didn't put a return date, make them no go give am the "Arcane" treatment, whereby the show debuts in freaking 2029! 😭😭 |
