The audience rating is what truly matters. Critics ratings of Jurassic franchise have always not been so great, yet the audience end up making it gross highly.
I am speaking from the perspective of a casual watcher, who has no plan of making this filth gross high, that critics score worries me. i leave that to the faithful fans who still think this franchise still has something to offer and trope to cinemas to see it.

The last one was pretty shite but made bank, so i can see why they are still banging on with it, but mannn, this franchise ran out of juice like way back in 2015.

But, hold up! not saying am not seeing it tho 😬, I mean, i am never gonna pass up the chance to see SJ in tigthies in a blockbuster 👀😩, but that will be in a 2 or 3 months time, when it sails 👀💀.

Here's the full list for those curious of the TOP 100 21st Century movies:

I've watched 38/100..... 😭😭

Basically that's about 38 movies I've watched so far in a possible 76 I would have watched.

More Chris Nolan movies gets in but farther down the list in the top 100: Memento, Inception, Oppenheimer, Interstellar.
Lmaoo... like 90% of the films here are so niche... Though i have seen a great number of them, but I can't genuinely recommend many of them, to a casual cinephile, make the person no go naked, swear for me 😩😩.

Again, these lists are always flawed like i would always say, our perceptions of what a really good movie is, is so so wild to be tied down to any list.

I saw "Citizen Kane" (1941) one time, basically to aura farm and say i am into classics, and bro, i almost vomited at the rubbish this movie was serving 😭, i don't remember even finishing it and this is supposed to be one of the greatest movies of all time o...oh please please please!

lol These list would always be subjective. They came up with it, from the entry of various ballot. I don't even believe there is any "true list" of best movies ever as it will always be flawed and swayed by personal preference and bias.

That been said. You are absolutely right about CN having more than TDK on that list, considering the films getting shouts...he literally has no bad movie in his catalogue.

RE:

Hollywood totally hate this brother for some reason i can't fathom 😂😂😂. "Oppenheimer" was too far too good to overlook especially when the competition was "Barbie" that year, if not Christopher Nolan was never smelling an oscar, meanwhile, all this brother does is to make banger movies... absolutely no mids in his filmography 😔

No Interstellar on the list? Very shocking.
lol There is a well publicize hate for "Interstellar" among quite a number of critics and fans as well for what they termed, been too emotionally manipulative, convoluted and the science not checking out concluding that beyond the stunning visuals, it had a pretty weak screenplay. That's why you might never see it widespread, on most list of the best film of this century.

To me, "People hate what they don't understand", and anything that makes them really think in a movie's screenplay, it's never a good watch for them. Christopher Nolan is not one to do basic films, and the science of "Interstellar" was even checked out by an actual Astrophysicist, so much so that it spurn into an actual book.

That's the same way they hate "Tenet" because they simply couldn't get it. He should have oscar since, but the minute he makes an autobiography that is seemingly straightforward, he immediately bags it lol..... generational film maker, that man!

Matt Reeves must have an all timer script for "The Batman" script because there is no logical reason why this sequel it taking this long, to put things in perspective...The "DUNE" Trilogy would have been made, before this sequel comes out, mind you, the first one was in 2022 😭.

I guess we can say the state of Cinema in the past 5 years isn't as dire as we make it seem.... 👀

At least 3 in the top 10 of the 100 BEST is from this decade. With one being an Original and two adaptations (one being technically a Biopic), the quality seems pretty much as strong as yesteryears. Especially with all THREE being nominated Best movies of the year and one clinching the prestigious award. 🌚🌚
Brooo...I think the deep in quality is mainly from 2020 down, but pre 2020 was a total blast. The only issue these days is how far apart quality films drop unlike before when each month of the year was stacked.

Final Destination: Bloodlines (2025)

Prepared or unprepared... it comes for all 💀

I casually picked this up late last night, planning to watch just the first 30 minutes before heading to bed. But I ended up getting totally hooked and finished it in the wee hours of the morning.

Not that the storyline was The Matrix-level intricate, far from it. It was a simple plot, much like the others before it, but I found it thoroughly entertaining and, surprisingly, profound.

The gore? Definitely present. And there was an interesting backstory to boot. I didn’t even know whether to laugh or feel pity for all the seemingly avoidable deaths that kept happening. You do feel for the characters, but the deaths were done in such a darkly comedic way that I couldn’t help but burst out laughing every now and then. Still, there’s nothing funny about dying, this was serious stuff.

What I liked most was the moral thread running through it all: no one, and no amount of preparation, can truly escape that dreaded eternal abyss. The main character thought she had it all figured out: maps, backstory, journal entries... but she knew nothing, as she brutally found out.

Now for the profound part..
You can’t really be prepared. You can’t be careful enough. When it comes, it comes. So maybe send that risky text today. Apply for that high-paying job you don’t feel qualified for. Learn a new skill. Pick up a new language. Try a new recipe. Go out and hug someone for no reason. Do good. Be kind. And every once in a while, go out and touch grass. Feel the breeze on your skin. Take it all in.

Because our sojourn on this planet is short and random.
So be it all. Feel it all. Do it all.
Nothing is promised and every day is a gift.

Loved it. Easy, easy recommend.

Entanglement:
redmi note 10 pro is by far better than redmi note 11!

But both of this phone has been decommissioned and no further security update and the rest unless you want it custom rom the phone
General question...with security patches and major OS updates for most midrange devices limited to just about 2 to 3 years. Do OEM expect one to just dump the phone (even though it's in perfectly good condition) after security patches stop and just get a new one?.

Like me, i carefully and judiciously use my devices, I still have my Nokia E5 i got in 2011 in near pristine condition ( though the battery has degraded over time), my Tecno C8 from 2015 is still one of my tertiary device, and one of my daily driver is a Redmi device i got in 2022, and even though i got it in 2022 and updates for it ended this year, it could easily still pass off for a new one, today.

I know OEM usually plan long term longevity for flagship devices, but my point is, that same grace should be extended to mid range devices, even if major OS updates won't be possible due to hardware capabilities, at least send security patches and offer basic support...not everyone change their devices every year.

I think Samsung has started offering long term support for mid range and low end devices... I sincerely hope, other OEM follow suite.

so basically AI tools like VEO can be used to create basic successes, but in the grand scheme of things, making actual movies and doing the hard work is something still unreachable by an Ai machine. It doesn't mean AI cannot be used to help film making. That seems like a viable explanation and education. Thank you for responding.
In essence yes...AI can be used to do very very basic stuff, that won't suffice for a straight to VOD release not to talk of a blockbuster. You still need the big guns for this kind of work.

Funny enough, even without the dawn of AI, pre puberty kids on YT have be churning out incredible VFX with just a PC running Core I5!, there is a young lad i follow, that recreated the sands in "DUNE" with 100% quality with just Blender, AE and Da Vinci resolve...AI can't touch these levels and point being, there are really really talented people out there, and it will take a whole lot of for AI to replace them, might happen, but it's still very very far off.
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by oyaskii(m): 9:33am On Jun 19, 2025
ValeeLove:
Any movie prod expert should please attempt this question. I'm seeing a lot of videos being generated from common apps like VEO and the quality looks so good, it's crazy. If AI can make it look so real and good, why are million dollar movies struggling with CGI and VFX?
There is a reason why people with an eye for quality can easily spot A.I generated video with like 85% accuracy and so the short answer is, current A.I models lack the refinement of large scale CGI and VFX that modern blockbusters demand....

The long of it
Filmmaking is not just about visuals, there are symbolism and emotions that brings the storytelling alive and so directors and filmmakers need the precise control of humans to craft it...A.I models currently lack these depth of layers.

Proper Filmmaking is about consistency in elements such as lightning, textures etc...matching environment and lighting between scenes, this requires deft touch that AI would struggle with it.
And then, there is the technical aspect of Filmmaking where CGI and VFX is in full force., to integrate live action with CGI requires a pixel perfect accuracy, using current A.I models with this, will look like a slob job. Simulating complex physics like water, fire, hair etc at high resolution needs human input sorry, you'd even waste more time trying to prompt AI to do this. I do a lot of motion graphics, and i tell you, if i am to simulate snow fall, on Adobe AE, i need to precisely control CC particle world, and it's element such as, velocity, radius, resistance, and still maintaining a very high resolution of 1080p or 4K, doing this with A.I will not only waste my time, i wouldn't get anywhere near the quality, if i just do it myself.
There is still the copyrights issues grey area to sort out, who is to say OpenAI wouldn't want a piece of cake with WB, if Sora was used in making the Superman CGI and VFX.

AI models continue to improve as LLMs are constantly undergoing training, through patterns and prompt, and further than the line, they might attain an acceptable level of standard, but it's still far off, and so VFX and CGI artists are still the go to, for big budget Hollywood flicks, they bring a level of intentionality and finesse that AI simply can't replicate now, but AI models are already helping in so many other aspects of Filmmaking.

Pretty top notch sexy drama. Jon Hamm is an impeccable actor. Wildly underrated. Olivia Munn is pretty damn hot...🥵

One of the best offerings 2025 has to offer.
The score would have been higher, but that ending leaves much to be desired. Solid TV show overall.
Bro just got his life back, and suddenly he now has a knack for the crime life?? I believe the ambiguous ending was to scrap a S2, as the morality compass can't possibly let him go scott free.

Exterritorial is a solid 3/10 for me.

A movie with a very nice plot, perfect setting or location but very mild to below per acting from literally everyone.
The perfect casts would have sold this movie to trend world wide but it is what it is.

Even with the below par casts, they could have added more thrill, actions and gun battles to the movie but the whole movie was just blank.

They really missed out.

don't forget she's going to be taken to court after the whole brouhaha.. envidence like that might vindicate her situation, heck might be released on bail or given a really short jail time ...

If she took the whole money, then how would defend herself from not being part of the mastermind of the robbery in which her boss has already told the police ..

Same thing applies to when she was in the bank...

It wasn't about unrealistic but being smart ..

You got caught up in a robbery , then you're being accused of being the mastermind and you went on to take the whole Cash.. if you eventually get caught and charged to court, how do you defend yourself from not being involved in the robbery...
You missed the whole part, where she shot her boss at point blank range? That's a solid 1st degree murder charge right there, and that carries 25 to life or a death sentence even, from the time she entered the boss's office to collect her paycheck to the time she entered the bank to cash that paycheck, no decision she made had any semblance of logic in it. You go to cash a check, and they asked for an ID, and you pull up a gun, and say "please you know me, just cash it for me whilst waving a gun in a public space? 😩😩😩.

The writing of the movie leaned heavily on emotions, to espunge her of any wrong doings, and clearly it worked, she's was been hailed as a some kind of saint, when she committed like 2 to 3 crimes in that run, that could see her locked up for a very long time, because in the real world, the law doesn't judge with emotions, it judges with fact and logic.

The only thing that could save her, was the reveal of her mental state at the end, she can plead insanity.

Straw (2025)

Clichéd, illogical, nonsensical...

I bought into the hype this movie has been getting over the past few days, and after seeing it, I just wish I hadn’t.

The writing was atrocious, even a pre-KG kid wouldn’t believe what they showed. Nothing made sense. They didn’t even put in the effort to make anything remotely believable. The dialogue was so amateurish, it felt like the actors met on set for the first time and just started winging it, blurting out anything with little care for coherence.

The casting choice was mediocre. Apart from Taraji P. Henson, the rest of the cast weren’t pulling their weight. It felt like they expected her to carry the whole film , but instead, they dragged her into mediocrity with them. There's a reason Teyana Taylor is better known for her singing than her acting , she had no business being in this, let alone being a co-lead. Her portrayal of Detective Raymond was so abysmal; her amateurish behind wasn’t detecting sht*. 😩

There was one scene where the Chief of Police asked her how she knew Taraji’s character wasn’t involved in the grocery store robbery. Instead of presenting logical proof or security footage, this heifer said, "I have a feeling." 😭

Now, I totally get the story they were trying to tell and I was actually invested in the emotional weight of it all. Like... man, poverty is a disease; it can destroy the mind 😔. But like most of Tyler Perry's films, the execution was just too flat for me to take the movie seriously. He's still chasing sensationalism instead of logic. He can tell nuanced stories about Black people in a way that leaves a lasting impression, but instead, he keeps recycling old formulas.

And maybe Taraji P. Henson needs to stop picking up his calls...

A very special... special 4/10. 💥

She and Ana de Armas are in the same category. Overrated actress who made it in Hollywood because of their sex appeal.

Common Side Effects" S1 (2025)

"You're a medicine salesman , cure everybody, and you're out of business!"

In times like these, when it's rare to find shows that reach beyond the surface and tap into something deeper than life itself, I stumbled upon this rare gem.

A hipster discovers some rare mushrooms with seemingly miraculous healing abilities, capable of curing every disease known to man. His mission? To share it freely with the world. But of course, not without consequences...

It was such an easy binge, one that left me yearning for more. The show throws up a host of moral dilemmas that made it hard to take a firm stance. On one hand, discovering a universal cure might be the noblest act since the evolution of our species. But on the other hand, the chaos it could unleash in our already hyper-capitalist world is unimaginable. Big Pharma would likely seize control, pricing it beyond the reach of the downtrodden , literally weaponizing life itself.

Struggle, mortality, and vulnerability are part of what shapes the human condition. Removing all suffering could flatten our experience entirely. Would people still be motivated to live healthy lifestyles if they knew a miracle cure existed? While it seems like an incredible solution on the surface, it could break the very fabric of biology, society, and ethics.

I love shows like this, ones that make me think. And to think, I had it sitting on my device for months.

An easy, easy recommendation.

Top shelf show, tbh.

Well, I said it before. The movie could have been special if they had ebb down on the From Dusk Till Dawn Vibe. I mean, they already created a story, bit decided to silently copy themes from From Dusk Till Dawn.

They should have just focused on the brothers, and their sojourn in Chicago with Al Capone and his mafia. Would have been nicer to see this...
A beautifully shot movie, i would give it that, every frame was louvre worthy, and those IMAX cameras did wonders.

But maan, at the core of a good movie, is a good story, and this sadly tried to cramp so many stories, without success, and eventually landing no where. I was genuinely fed up by the third act.

The film didn't know whether to take a serious tone, or a comedic one. I don't even know what genre this movie falls, under, was it a musical? can't really remember any memorable track tbh? was it a horror flick? If that's what Ryan was going for, than it will be parody horror at best, because of the silly jokes they were cracking. Was it a racially charged drama?, they served a very little emotional back story, to be properly vested in this plot line.

They had me thinking Hailee Steinfeld was the poster girl for the flick? Meanwhile this babe was on screen for like 5 minutes,😭

The only good take away is, how beautifully shot it was , and that's the only reason, i may want to see it again.

Black peoples won’t rate this movie as it is, yes it’s can be 5,6 or 7 but not 8 like others hyping it

What’s great about the movie?
I really enjoyed the musical mostly the lil cousin voice and the beautiful black casts also I’m in love with who plays Grace character

What’s bad about the movie?
I see black people not talking about the white vampire and it’s always the same message besides that, making the recycled plot movie 2hrs without any supernatural context till almost the end. No bloody or horrific scenes, more like a gangster film you can feel comfortable watching it at midnight, let me end it here I don’t wanna talk the Unnecessary scenes.

The final scene Is so Stupid and laughable for a supernatural movie that was supposed to be a serious one.
100% spot on with this take 👀👍🏿.

I remember when "Black Panther" (2018) came out and Black folks were going to cinemas wearing trad, and hyping the movie to the highest heavens, because it was supposedly the first "black superhero movie" on a major slate, only for me to actually see it, and see that it was just your normal run on the mill flick, that has enjoyed a magnanimous hype, that the film, in reality, came nowhere to matching.

That is the exact same feeling i had, after seeing this...and in a funny irony, both movies were made by the same film maker.

Now on a good day, was this a good movie? Yes, but boy the things they have said about this movie for the past 2 months or so, i genuinely struggled to see tbh...

A glorified "From Dusk till Dawn" (1996), with a little racial war on the side, was all it was...and the replay value for me at the very least, is at it's lowest ebb.
