Zack Snyder mined a vast array of comic book history to build his vision of this character that transcends science, myth, religion, physical and philosophical reasoning. This version has never been depicted elsewhere before, as the character has always been grounded in the mist of Sci-Fi, but here he's enacted in the most relatable way ever, with a brilliant first contact story whilst not losing any of it's rich flavor that has made the character the darling of CB and CBM fandom. This was the first of a 5 film arc that Snyder was contracted to make, and oh boy what a start it was!

The Superman story have the highest morality meter in the DC universe and stories about it are the strongest to show the complexity of this morality. The title "Man of Steel" is deliberate, to show the Steel of the Character, As he is near infallible and impenetrable but also living out the human experience with "Steel" in the context of been tried and tested on the human emotions and physical strength cleverly depicting Clark Kent/Kal El going through it all and coming out a Blacksmith steel after going through the fire and coming out the outside a finished product.

Henry Cavill shines as Superman, a top tier casting and probably one of the best in CBM history, he embodied the role to the smallest details, He refused to take steroids to get "buff" for the role, and instead went the Natural way. It's such a shame how it all went after the movie. Micheal Shannon as Zod is a match made in Krypton, totally killed the role. The other supporting cast also gave a good account of themselves.

The writing is near perfect. The critics were on about it been "too dark" and no character development which i totally disagree with. The darker tone was a concept to properly tell the narrative, i mean how is Kal El supposed to bring Hope if the world ain't dark? and there was a character development for Kal El and Zod. My major criticism was probably what Supes did to General Zod at the end, so so off brand.

The cinematography was top notch, there was an overuse of CGI at some point but it's forgivable.

I probably have Zack Snyder bias but all things considered, this is peak CBM, and this man deserves his chance once again to tell his story and share his vision.

Yeah, it is. A solid plot helmed by a solid cast of early 2000s players. Amazing action sequences, tension that would spike up your adrenaline and have you biting down aggressively.

Kaycee7 has already said it all. If i may add, asides all he mentioned, the cinematography for me was mind blowing, the attention to details was top notch. What makes it remarkable was that it's was a biopics or historical war movie.

It's one of those cult classic you'd be very sure you've seen, but deeping it you'd realise you have probably missed it. I got it in the era of "20 in 1 DVD" circa era, started it but i didn't finish, but i somehow never got around to completing it.

I totally agree. The attention to the very minute details in both movies is top notch. For modern war movies, I think Black Hawk Down has one of the best cinematography I've seen so far.

Funny thing is that i have completely blanked on "Black Hawk Down", started it one time but i couldn't finish it. Is it good overall?

There are some chatters that CN might try to over complicate things like he did with Tenet, with what looks like a straightforward biopic story, hence might deter early movie goers and so hence the low projections but i am confident he would seriously cook with this and it might turn out to be one of the best movies of the year. Daamn i miss his movie shots man...with MI7 on the offering this month as well, e b like na Lapo go borrow me money to see all these feastings 😋🤩🤩

All Quiet on The Western Front:8/10
Genre: War Drama .

This and Sam Mendes's "1917" had some of the best war cinematography i have seen in a while. The warfront shots were too clean mann.

Tamara Jenkins 3rd feature after long wait from the brilliant Savages (2007), is a brutally honest, emotionally wrenching but hilarious take on the struggles of fertility and child bearing.
Starring Paul Giamatti from Billions and the comedienne Kathryn Hanh stars as Richard and Rachel a suburban middle aged couple having fertility difficulties, throwing up thier life savings at any solution just to be parents, they are seemly thrown a life line when Richard's brother's step daughter decided to gift them an egg, the emotional weight of this decision sent things spiralling out of control.

The writing and directing is top notch, presenting infertility struggles and marriage troubles that accompanies it in a way that never feels cliché. I myself am a close friend to a couple for years who underwent the same problem but thankfully became Parents this year, so the story resonate close to home.

The ending is one of the best i have seen in a motion picture, cold, bleak but oddly satisfying. This is one of the gem Indies Netflix drops once in a while that i really like, the other been "Marriage Story" (2019).
Recommended if you can stomach the subject matter.

LMAO... The price of the cooling system alone can buy one a good basic laptop. 8k resolution, damn! the graphics would be insanely out of this world. After playing games, especially AAA titles on such Rig( Horizon Zero Dawn comes to mind), the image and graphics literally lives on with you in your mind and even your subconscious.

Imho in the long run a gaming rig is better. Preferably a custom one. You can upgrade and swap out everything. Much more difficult and frustrating if something in your laptop breaks. There is a limit to how far you can fix your laptop.

The only benefit of a laptop - portability is shit as far as gaming is concerned. Your battery will not run 45 minutes if you are gaming

I did a rough estimate of my desired gaming rig one time after seeing Marques Brownlee's rig which is capable of 8K res with real to life ray tracing max and i was coming up with over 1M... instant cold and fear catch me , The cooling system alone was in the region of 200k 😩😩.

The Witcher S3 Part 1

Henry Cavill's Back must hurt from carrying this!

Maan. This season is kind off. It's season 3 and it still look like a preamble, i mean there are eight books of rich material to explore, except they are planning to to stretch this to six seasons, i don't see the need for the big tease.

The part with Henry Cavill/Geralt are the best parts as these mfs haven't given me enough reason to care about other characters, like at this point I don't care about ciri and Yen talk less of other minor characters. I don't even know what they are smoking in the writers room, it's like everybody is just throwing everything to see which one sticks, each episode looks like a different show. They are misused the creative liberties given to them by the source material. They just veered off and change little details that defined each character like Jaskier been Queer, like where did that come from, because him be heterosexual is central to his character narrative in the books. People think Geralt and him killing monsters is the entire facet of the book and it's wrong, if fact there are many chapters where he's not the POV, and the book gives enough armour to other characters to make things interesting, infact, my memory of the books are foggy at this point, but i think the Human Species are the dominant and the monsters are even going extinct, so not much for Geralt to do.

In all this, it's Henry Cavill i pity, He's the very bane holding this show together, Netflix not doing enough to keep him is beyond me. This man has the craziest talent ID/built that is so in sync with CBM and fantasy lead i have seen in years and yet he's been kicked out of being  Geralt of Rivia and Clark Kent due to circumstances out of his direct making within a year?? common on!. These two roles are so primed for his Talent ID, so either he has charlatans representing him or he has the dumbest luck ever... it's so so uncanny.

I will see the part 2 to conclude his chapter as Geralt of Rivia, but I won't be showing up for whatever Netflix is cooking with Liam Hemsworth because if Henry Cavill who is actually a fan of the books and game and totally gets it, is leaving for "creative differences", then that tells you all you need to know.

i don't want to sound demeaning, but when last was Liam in anything worthwhile? He's basically riding on the tax of being Chris Hemsworth little bro and been married to Miley Cyrus Husband at one time.... Caustic!

I watched season one of Breaking Bad. I hated it but I hung on to it because of it glowing reviews from critics and friends.
I watched season two but still didn't like it. I proceeded to season three because many people regarded it as one of the greatest TV show ever made. That was how I watched it till the end hoping I will eventually like it; I never did. Today, if a series fails to fascinate me early, I quit without hesitation.

My mantra has always been "I can't see everything" and that has helped me alot. No matter how a show gets hyped, I don't even bother with it if it's not my thing. I actually have a 2 episodes policy for shows and 30 minutes for movies. That's ample time for any supposed good show or movies to get going or show proper intent to, if not i drop it.

YouTube has been making money for itself and creators for years without the platform been broken or unrecognizable. Musk takeover is barely a year, and he has fired actual project designers and UI/UX guys that actually know how to make the app work, and he's tinkered with just about everything. Today's move will be the straw that breaks the camel's back if he doesn't revert it. There are ways he can make money off the app and not these nonsense he his doing currently.

If you own a laptop, just download the PPSSPP emulator for Windows, (I think it's just 20mb) Max all the settings and run the game through the emulator, i promise you, you'd enjoy the game to bits. Chain of Olympus is also enjoyable.

If you game on the PC platform, I'd recommend Ryse Son of Rome. It's just like GOW(although GOW remains the goat of hack and slash), Roman hack and slash at it's finest. With a powerful PC, with all the settings all maxed out, to the highest, the graphics is jaw dropping, an eye candy, and the realism is next to none. Story is simple but yet holds your attention till the very end.

I have been on the emulator for Android , moving to the the windows version too.

Mannn you just reminded me of Ryse Son of Rome. Shame it was on Xbox exclusive title, till i discovered the PC version. I keep telling people, PC gaming is where is at, not those console nonsense. Consoles are too restricted. Make better money enter end first, I'm planning to build a proper PC gaming rig from scratch

You know Ball. It used to be my best title on the PSP, i downloaded a PSP emulator last week, and it was the very first game i grabbed .. I couldn't get far tho cuz it's been long so i just loaded the Cheat for Infinite Health, Orb, and Magic and powered all my blades to the maximum and now I'm almost at the end

Asides the awesome storyline, there's a whole lot of things involved in making this adaptation to perfection, and I pray Amazon is up to the task. For one, the VFX, CGI and the cast has to be perfect......... They would spend a whole lot of money oo, an episode of the series would literally gulp millions of dollars. If care is not taken, i see it overtaking The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power as the most expensive Amazon series per episode.

But if they can make it happen and make it to perfection, i see it becoming one of the best game adaptations ever and a huge money spinner for the streaming platform, because it'd be backed by the nostalgia.

The VFX replication is my only fear, but the game was 2010 i think, and i think exists now to fully replicate it and perhaps it should be easy if they align with the game creators and designers. The funds shouldn't be an issue cuz Amazon is fully up to. We deserve to see this story on the big screen with a proper adaption. Like you said, It will be up there among the very best if done well.

Same. I was barely able to finish S1. I have basically lost interest in seeing S2. Anyways, they have unlimited funds for the kind of budget it needs to be really top tier, like you said, they just need to get good show runners.

I was waiting for the S2 to debut before I join this, somehow missed it that all episodes are out even tho I knew it'd premiere this summer.

The PR for S1 wasn't great and i was surprised. Disney will rather promote shows on the more premium Disney plus. The show is so so good, and both seasons are a light binge with 30 mins episodes.

I have been re: playing God of War: Ghost Of Sparta this week cuz it's one of my fav in the series, and it just clocked that Kratos is one of the best written game characters ever. The infusion of his character with the Greek Mythology is insanely good. The character development from this to Ragnarok is so so good. It will be a great disservice if it isn't adapted into a movie or a show one day. I have never seen a game character so prime for this!.
