If "The Flash" can't beat miserables like "Uncharted" and "Eternals", then what was the point of making this movie?. Ironically I don't think Ezra Miller extracurricular activities even contributed to this seemly catastrophic fail.

Baddestguyp:That's why i was asking for context. If i understand you,you are saying the multiversal concept is not consistent? Well it isn't a consistent science, so i don't expect CBM to do it perfectly 100%. So each media tries to mess with it to fit thier narrative. In the real world science, "Multiverse" is purely speculative theory existing within the science of time and space, so what hasn't been figured out in the real world, i doubt it will in fiction. |
Apparently Disney's "Elemental" is doing nonsense too at the BO. What the hell is happening to cinema culture? 😭😭 |
phr0nesis:Yeah.The Same Micheal Shannon said he didn't enjoy BvS lol. |
Baddestguyp:They don't care about consistency? In what context? And the nostalgia cameo issh really became a thing like 2 years ago. |
phr0nesis:I have no doubt Snyder will totally cook with that Movie.. can't wait...i just hope the man finds his way back to DC/WB.
|
NaijaMemes:At bolded, you listen to that Guy? I can't stand his style of review tbh. Makes me wanna pluck my ears out. For me tho, i am not really bothered about the multiverse been stereotyped in CBM, as i think it is part and parcel of it. It will take a really good writer and serious maneuver to avoid the multiverse concept entirely, i can't even think of one CBM of the top of my head in the last 5 years that has done it successfully. |
phr0nesis:No. Just a behind the scene look in yesterday's event. But new footage is upcoming and there was a teaser trailer not too long ago. |

Baddestguyp:I still put it to you that the HBO max simulcast had a big hand, WW 84 released on the same day with the VOD i think, the first part was actually really good, no way people wasn't anticipating the sequel, with a proper run, it could have made buck. Projections are opaque as they come, let the Blue Bettle debut first. |
Baddestguyp:Exactly..na the Zuko vex me pass, it looked nothing like the animation, but make we dey observe sha. It's either going to be very good or very bad...no middle ground. |
Baddestguyp:These are *pandemic DCEU* uno, coupled with almost simu HBO max release, it would definitely hurt the numbers. Most movies struggled in that time frame tbh. |
Kaycee7:Oh lucky you then cuz you about to have a double meal with the sequel out now. It was a decent watch. |
Baddestguyp:Netflix too dey gbà, that's the problem. I saw the One Piece teaser and i almost threw up. |
MJBOLT:Oh really, if so, it would make sense, bloggers just spinned the story that he's in the actual movie, and 9ja Twitter were on about "9ja to the World" last Wednesday 🤦🏿♂️ |
majesticguy: pu7pl3:Unreal Fooling 😂😂 Nigeria too funny abeg...Be like that Funke Akindele joining the Dora Milaje in Infinity war gist that year, i take eyes find sis tire that time 😂😂 |
pu7pl3: Ok so what movie set was Baba on in that Viral Tik Tok video? 😀 |
The Netflix "Avatar: The Last Airbender" project first renders looks just as awful as the 2010 live action movie. I have faint confidence it will turn out good. I starting to think perhaps this isn't destined for a live action adaptation. |
Kaycee7:Re watch Big man? or you need a refresher? |
Passport 2022. Kopiko! Kopiko!! Kopiko!!! Reeling from the "The Flash Hangover" yesterday, My plan was to see Extraction 2 but i didn't have the mental focus to see it, i was looking for something light hearted and this popped up on Netflix, and i was genuinely surprised how good it was. I was letting out burst of laughs but seeing it's a Nollywood flick, i was expecting it to go sour at some point, but to my shock they it didn't, they were actually able to stick a very good landing in the end. It tells a Story of a Guy who lost his passport whilst hurrying to catch a flight, the passport fell into the hands of "Area Boys" and what ensued was a very funny sequence of unfortunate events. Perfect casting but special praise to Mercy Johnson as "Kopiko", she was the true star of the show. If you want something fun and light hearted this weekend i highly recommend this. A solid B and by the way it's 7.7/10 on IMBD, for people into that 👀😀

NaijaMemes:If you can decipher like an adult, you would see that i barely even insulted you, i mainly gave you a piece of advice to stop acting like a man child, You actually cowered and accepted with that smelly emoji reply because you know it's the truth. But so on brand, somebody baited and egged you on to reply, and you went back to reply the same post to spew this rubbish just to massage your bruised childish ego. Nothing i have said here, that hasn't been said all over movie spaces since yesterday, both the good and the bad. If my review hurt you so much, then I'm not sorry so feel free to wallow in your misery. I truly appreciate the art of movie and i understand it can't all be perfect, you watch movies to see who holds a contrary opinion and go on a meaningless rant. It's so sad we have to tolerate you here because 80% of your post, you are always waging pointless wars, no meaningful contributions or meaningful reviews, always with a match to start a fire when nothing is cooking. This is like your 4th or 5th moniker now, with zero changes to the unsavoury way you have been acting, don't you ever sit down to evaluate and see you have some deep rooted issues? Go out and touch grass sometimes, whilst i hope you find the help you so desperately need. |
NaijaMemes:Calm your tits. Everybody on here know, i am as objective as they come. I highly doubt you love the DC lore more than me or you are even as versed in it as i am. It is a personal review, key word been "Personal", what will be the use for not telling the truth and misleading people? Moreover the good and the bad i mentioned about the movie are almost on par. So mentioning the bad part makes me an enemy? I should only say good things to please your ego? On a faceless forum?? Come on, get a grip! I really want to believe you are a grown man, but your actions lately are like a toddler, lashing out at every inconvenience without any room for any form of cognitive thinking.... seriously grow up. I can't be going back and forth with you on the points you raised without entering into spoiler territory, simple courtesy demands I don't. But if grown ups see it, they will see my concerns are valid. Lastly.... It's important you always think before you rant, and never let your unpolished tendencies cloud your already warped judgement because B- is basically 80-82% which is around 8/10 your dumb ass rated the movie. |
The Flash (2023). "Alternate title: Michael Keaton's Batman 2023: The flash paradox" . CBM are in a multiverse and "special guest" parade loop recently for fan service and I think WB and DC casually tank the appeal of these nostalgic casting here because it overshadowed the main meal. The marketing team tried to deflect the Ezra Miller shenanigans by putting scenes that showed Micheal Keaton's Batman turning up, in the forefront of the promos. It made the entire first act of this, feel not like a Barry Allen story but a big prelude, because the said scenes were the focus of the promos, all of the ticklish pauses left for we the crowd to go nuts on the reveal were pointless because the element of surprise was gone. This coming right after Across the Spider verse did this movie a great disservice, as that took the multiverse, time space continuum and reminiscing trope in the most stunning visual and fulfilling way that makes this look like a Child's Play, attempting it. The plot was not consistent, they were trying too many angles and sticking a proper landing was hard because of that. The writing was aloof, trying to accommodate various plot lines whilst losing the focus that this is in fact a "Flash" Movie. There's was a point were Keaton's explained the time space jargon to Barry that a change in a time line doesn't change things linearly but somewhat create a "perpendicular fulcrum" ( How a 90 year old Batman is vastly versed in the finer details of the logic of time space continuum is beyond me btw, but i will allow it), "The Flash 2023" exist in this fulcrum, a mid point between the Ridiculously and seriously good Snyder Cut JL and the not so good, CGI goof 2017 version. They were strong points. A good CBM must have a strong opening scene, and this was good. Some great comedic moments, Whilst i had a problem with Michael Keaton almost overshadowing the entire flick, His cameo (saying cameo lightly because he had ample screen time) was a good one , and an ode is paid to the Superman and Batman movies from before with good references and cameos. There's also a strong Jason Momoa/Arthur Curry/Aquaman arc link which firmly grounds the notion that this is in fact a DCEU movie, a run they are planning to continue under the new DC helm, most likely in "Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom" on Christmas day. Whilst the following careers in the DCEU are a pipe dream now,Ben Affleck on his Batmobile did a fine bridge chase with a charisma that made his Batman Era slightly good, and i screamed a little when i heard the "Wonder Woman" theme score, and Gal Gadot appeared!. This is a direct backdoor to "Man of Steel" (2013) and so Micheal Shannon reprises his role as General Zod, good then, good now!.Ezra Miller is a good "Barry Allen" and i believe in a good story and a properly written script for "him" and with his own "villain" , he would shine because despite what the title says, this was 70% not his movie, and it felt more like a "Justice League" Offshoot. The CGI was botch work to be honest especially in the opening scene, it was like Justice League 2017 weird level, not really bad, but weird, but this kind of had a comedic relief to the narrative so maybe it was deliberate but considering the budget, i expected better and there were some weird VFX going on as well. Not the recent CGI and VFX MCU bad tho, but maan, i think they had enough time to work on it and still goofed. The AI and Deepfake to bring Christopher Reeve from the Superman of 78 and 87, and Helen Slater from Supergirl 84, and other versions of the Superman and Batman from various variations of both media, was well below standard but i appreciated the effort, basically Nostalgia heroin high!. There are some sparks in this (pun intended ⚡) that are genuinely good but it becomes anonymous quickly in the third act, cascading to a semi forgettable CBM that you just have to see to the end but that's it, as the perks may or may not be strong enough to earn it a meaningful replay value. It's not the best CBM this year but it's certainly not the worst by a far stretch, not when Ant-man and the Wasp:Qauntumlxx exists. I'm at a crossroad with this as this is so much touch and go. See it on the biggest screen if you are a fan of the DC lore over the years, the nostalgic trip is worth it and Ezra Miller as Barry Allen has a little reward but if you are not a fan of this lore, then the good parts of the movie with all the references will do you no good , and if you are stretched for cash, you can skip a cinema visit for this and wait for it to sail in a month or two. "Beau is Afraid" 2023 Ari Aster's Magnum Opus or Career ending flick. This psychedelic, psychotic, weird and brazenly bizarre 3hrs Ari Aster's trip is wrongly morphed by A24 officially as a "comedy, adventure and fantasy". Ari Aster's third feature is even more convoluted, warped and unearthly than Hereditary (2018) and Midsommar (2019). Our central character is Beau, A man who is riddled by morbid anxiety having a conversation with his therapist about his relationship with his mother and this forms the central motif of the movie. He gets a call from her to make a trip home for the anniversary of her husband and Beau's father's death anniversary, in a twisted irony of fate, he locks himself out of his apartment, with his key and flight ticket inside his apartment and misses the flight. Then On brand Ari Aster, the movie spiralled into a bizarre, intricate and complex fever dream. All types of weirdness were having a field day ...A Giant Phallus, Old men running stark naked, Stage play in the forest that seems out of nowhere, Old people ciotus and the fear of dying from a literal heart attack from an orgasm!. The plot goes here and there to try to understand Beau's relationship with his mother and try to repair it. The runtime of 3hours did more harm than good, you could easily get distracted with this one. Beau is played by Joaquin Phoenix and what a performance! He's becoming a method maniac, it was like he hadn't snapped out of his role from "Joker" (2019). His demeanor was so sad and depressing, fits the narrative perfectly but i am beginning to suspect this man has no joy or happiness in real life and i am genuinely concerned for his mental health. I need to look up Ari Aster's relationship with his mother because no way he's cooking something like this without real life experiences and if true, that relationship is truly truly disturbing. A very hard sell this movie is, I can't really recommend it except you are an Ari Aster hipster and an A24 aficionado. B-.

abduleez1:Happy Birthday Big man... Blessings 💐 |
ShaqFu:lol My weekly russian roulette with spam bot 😂 |
abduleez1:First of...I thought the casting of Sydney Sweeney as Reality Winner was an A class casting!. Secondly...I feel it was a tad unfair that she had to do time in a federal prison for providing evidence for something that was obviously true, and the public getting wind of such info is most likely for the better and help guide against it in future elections. Democrats were really clutching at straws in the 2016 Election cycle, They never really took Trump serious till like 6 months to the election. They enacted and unearthed every smear campaign against him, and yet his stock continued to rise but Dems, still couldn't believe he could win, infact Hillary Clinton's Victory party had almost started on Election Night before they sent cold down her spine lol, I could remember Lady Gaga and Katy Perry crying backstage at the said victory party . Funny enough, I don't think the Russia Intervention even did so much, Hillary Clinton still won the popular votes by a gap of almost 2.6 million, and were it not for the warped electoral college votes system that the US uses, she could have been the first female POTUS. Even the Trump administration didn't improve relations with Russia, if for anything strained it, because one would have thought, that would be the logical thing to happen, hence the Russia Intervention.A good flick in end, but alas one could easily get bored and lose focus. I think the moral of it all is that, the American Intelligence hate leaks as it undermines thier perceived strength in the eyes of the international community, not minding if "said leaks" were in the greater interest of the American Public". |
The Lincoln Lawyer (2011) There's no client as scary as an innocent man' I was about to see "The Lincoln Lawyer" series by Netflix and i said I should see the movie which it was adapted from. This noir court crime drama which itself was adapted from Micheal Connelly's 2005 novel of the same name about a defence lawyer who operated out of his Lincoln hence the titular name. Mathew McConaughey takes the lead here as a sketchy defense lawyer, doing the dirtiest tricks in the book, to keep his clients who are mostly criminals on the streets, i mean, his plate number reads "Nt Guilty", apt af!. He showed absolute class and top form in the role, marking his exit from the poster boy of Rom Coms prior to, to a more clinical dexterity and range that his talents is capable of, serving as a stepping stone for his much more celebrated roles in "The Dallas Buyers Club(2013)and"Interstellar" (2014). The movie itself was crafted in a smart and sleeky cat and mouse set up whichs holds the core of the film. A man seemly accused of battering a woman of the night, hires a street lawyer to prove his innocence but as things starts to unravel, there was so much more than meets the eye, throwing personal conscience out of whack, which was proving to much to bear, even for a dodgy lawyer. The cinematography and sound editing wasn't of the finest quality but with a great co - cast such as the ever beautiful Marisa Tomei, Ryan Phillipe who just refused to age!, William H. Macy from "Shameless" and Bryan Cranston from "BB" made for a good mix. I had so so much more fun than i bargained for. On to the series now! B+

Baddestguyp:You weren't trolling, i called out your BS and you were trying to spin it as usual. |
Baddestguyp:I'm almost sure you have sense, pls try to use it sometimes because you do realize it's not about how long the text is, but if it contains certain words it will get banned, be it a long text or not. I only use the "epistle analogy" to show how much time it took me to type it only for it to be banned cuz of probably one word, no better censorship can save you from that. Besides your so called long text 2 days ago was probably your usual nonsensical ramblings on here that the Spambot felt it too dumb to ban. Man said "You Problem", if not for constant ban, why do you have your "itprehxx" moniker running around whilst you have this one? 😑
|
ShaqFu:It's becomes so tiring jumping through these hoops just to drop a few line of comment. Most of these words censored are normal in everyday discourse. |
