The S/West leaders in the APC sold the party to their electorates on the premisses that it will deliver certain issues garmane to the interests of the zone and they got substantial parts of it.

The Jonathan/PDP had no signature project in the S/West at a time that the country made Billions of Petro-dollars.
The busiest road in Nigeria, the Lagos-Ibadan Express, Ibada-Oyo-Ogbomosho, Oshodi-Apapa road, Lagos-Abeokuta road were in deplorable conditions under the Jonathan/PDP administration.
The APC promised to attend to these issues and also re-construct the Lagos-Abeokuta-Ibadan-Oshogbo-ilorin standard guage railways.


Apart from appointments of few office holders into juicy positions, the Jonathan/PDP didn't even do much for the S/East.

PDP members and their sympathizers will support Atiku.


APC members/supporters will support APC/Tinubu or Osinbajo

No political party willingly set itself up to be easily defeated.

In as much as i understand the feelings of alienation of the Igbos (especially since 2015) in the political heirrachy of the country and I condemn it, the APC will be plotting it's own defeat if they hand over their presidential ticket to S/east in 2023.

Such a move will require imposition of an unpopular Dave Umahi or Okorocha on the party and it may cause too many cracks in the party that will make it easier for the PDP to defeat it.

The inability of the Igbo candidates to win is NOT caused by the Yorubas or any other tribe. The Igbo candidates just need to look inward and find ways to overcome this problem.

However you can't win if you aren't contesting on the platform of the major political parties.

Igbo candidates need to get over the tag of the civil war and win. I hope for such a day.

Look at the registered and the actual votes from the S/East in 2015 and 2019. They showed that the S/East have the least voting strength.

Campaigning for no referendum,no election in the S/East will further reduce their voting strength and dwindle their capacity for political negotiations.
Gradually the S-south is taking over the position of the S-East in the political equation of Nigeria.

It's amusing seeing people who are not members of any political party, who don't attend the meetings, rallies, Congress or primaries and some who don't even have voters card insisting on dictating how a political party should chose it's flag bearer.


People that think like you need to come together, register with a political party and try to effect the changes you want as members and stakeholders of the party.

For instance, Boko Haram and the Killer Herdsmen crisis result from decades of poor economic decisions.

Most Boko Haram members are young men between 18-40years (age of productivity) who are channelling their youthful energies in the negative direction.

What do Boko Haramists really want? What do the Killer Herdsmen really want? ...They both want to make their lives better!

Make no mistakes about it, Boko Haramism is not really about getting close to God or avoiding sins.
Many of the Boko Haram fighters can't read the Qur'an and they watch blue films, use drugs, rape and commit all kinds of sins/crimes like the rest of the people.

They have been brainwashed to believe that the 'corrupt' political system is the reason for their POVERTY and that if they fight to replace it with Islamic Gov'ts, their lives will be rossy and if they die in the process, they will be rewarded with great things in heaven including 72 virgins.
IPOB also use similar system to convince their members, supporters and sympathizers that a new country devoid of certain 'negative' tribes we have in Nigeria will solve their present predicaments.


Nigeria, like other African countries is poor because we are unable to dominate our environment (use what are available around us to make our lives better).

Most enemies of Tinubu on this forum approach political issues from emotional points of views.

To defeat people like Tinubu, you need to coalesce into a movement that is physically campaigning for a strong opposition contender like Atiku, Tambuwa etc.
The major challenge with this however is that you will need to market these candidates and convince the electorates that they are better alternatives to Tinubu.

In life, most things are really never black or white but there are often spectrum of grey in-between and everything comes with both positives and negatives.

If a sizeable portion of the population leave to other State, it will have both positives and negatives but the State will most likely be better off for it.

There are many ways that the State can generate revenues that hasn't been fully tapped. With adequate investment, Lagos can generate alot of money by investing in Water Transportation and chemical industries using raw materials from it's aquatic environment.

For instance, do you know that with good water transportation, Ondo and Delta States are 45mins and 1 hour away from Lagos?

Lagos, Ondo and Delta States can collaborate to build super modern Water Transport companies.




True Federalism will help Nigeria in so many ways.

If each State is taking care of itself without looking forward to the centre, many States will kick start economic activities that will attract and hold their population instead of every youth trooping to Lagos.
It will also help Lagos to control many of it's resources and opportunities.

Let me break it down for you in local parlance ,may be you can understand it better; water will find it's levels.





Street traders with some of them sleeping in shops, homeless people, touts and a significant number of the people you see on the streets of Lagos aren't making real contributions to the IGR of Lagos.

I repeat these people are likely to be better off if they relocate to Kwara, Osun, Nasarawa, Edo, Kogi or Akwa-Ibom States and try to replicate what they have learnt in Lagos State.

Apart from personal income taxes which every employeed adult pays, Oil Companies pay their taxes to the FG. Taxes from the ports are also paid to the FG.

Multinational companies and Corporate Nigerians, Petroleum marketing companies, Hotels, ICT coys contribute the major share of the IGR.

If things are balanced it will not be like that trust me. Even with the population and the current IGR Lagos should not be a high debt laden state.

The generation of IGR is dynamic and not static.

Lagos has many problems and over population is a major one.

Most of the population in Lagos don't contribute to the IGR but are burden on the State. They will do better if they can try their luck's in other States.


So many people wrongly assume that they must be in Lagos to make it or live good lives but this is not true. There are economic opportunities in every State which we need to develop.

A 30 year-old graduate earning #100K in Niger, Ekiti, Kebbi, Ebonyi or Edo States are better than many people living in Lagos.
