Especially with regards to how extreme they can be in their fanaticism. The Constitution is the Supreme law. Anyone convicted by Shari'ah courts can appeal to higher courts up to the Supreme Court |

The normal constitutionally recongnized courts take over. Shari'ah courts should be like 'arbitration panels or courts of traditional rulers' |

MajohBankz: It should be the general consensus of every inhabitant for it should be established but it almost impossible for that to happen. If FG should get involved there'll be wahala for the reactions of non Muslims Those who want Shari'ah courts should go ahead and establish it for themselves, in as much as they limit their operations to personal religious/cultural matters for those who believe in their religions and Gov't is not involved at any level of their creations, finance and operations. |

bull67: you might be right but in this case, and how our society is going, people have to do this test. The way families are being run in nigeria gives everybody the reason to have this d n a test. I live in the uk here and no matter how small your income, you and your family live in a flat provided by the council. but in nigeria, the number of people living in face me i face you rooms are 5 time more than those living in flats or houses which give rooms for adultury and fornication. I myself have lived in this kind of acommodation when i was single and then i myself have screwed lots and lots of young women, but not wives. my room mate gos for wives and he has screwed over 50 married women and single in the same street. He took it has a hobby and now married but he is still on the game. My dad has a hotel in nigeria and we only make good money from costomers doing short time only few lodge till the next day. most of these men bring in house wives. they only bring in few single girls. So many old rich sugar daddies go out with young ladies, spend on them, make them pregnant, and these girls give the baby to their poor boyfriends. LOOK there are so many bastards in every family but the problem is mose people cant afford that amount for the D N A test. Excuse me sir, I have few questions for you; 1) Can you explain how living in face-me, I face-you houses promote Fornication & Adultery. 2) Your roommate specialized in fvcking other people's wife and he didn't catch 'Magun'? |

DeSepiero: You would give 5 - 10mls of your blood to labs which have partnerships with USAID for routine laboratory tests from time to time, but a few drops for dna testing worries you? Thank you Bros. There are so many paranoid people in this country. Everyday, medical tests are conducted in this country with reagents, test kits and laboratories that are of American origin or affiliated to them but some people still feel, if Americans want DNA of Nigerians ,they will be sponsoring discussion on paternity frauds. FYI, the USA can get DNA samples of Millions of Nigerians within days by announcing a Free Visa lottery for Nigerians but these applicants must undergo Medical tests to show they are free of certain diseases. As many as possible Nigerians will apply. A reasonable sample of a cross section of Nigerians with their DNA is all that is needed for any medical research. |
Health › Re: DNA Test: Don't Do It. Here Is Why by oyatz(m): 11:32am On Jan 03, 2021 |
thebosstrevor1: You must be naive
The dna company 54 gene is headquartered in the United states, the dna laboratory in Nigeria was set up by a American company, those sponsoring the company are Americans and with support from American pharmaceutical companies
The United states government can get your dna data if they like, law enforcement can send a court order and your dna samples will be given to them. I can't just stop laughing at your conspiracy theory about the USA trying to create a DNA database and resorting to sponsoring discussion about paternity frauds. There are far easier and more legitimate ways, the US can get a database of DNA of Nigerians than what you just posted here. |

MajohBankz: Are u insinuating that sharia courts should automatically be established in Yoruba land? Yes sir. Shari'ah courts were first established in Yorubaland about 250-300years ago. The statement said Shari'ah court should be established in ANY State where there are significant Muslims e.g Ebonyi State. The only thing I am against in this suggestions is the part requesting the FG to establish the Shari'ah courts. This is against the spirit of Shari'ah. There's no need for the Federal Government to be involved. |

jimyjames: through tribal bigotry sentiment, awo managed to convince his Yoruba brothers to reject zik cause he is igbo You are approbating and reprobating at the same time. However, for the benefit of those who genuinely want to know what really happened (and not Igbo propanganda); 1) A general (parliamentary) election was conducted in Western Region in 1951 under the supervision of the British Government. Under the then Constitution, a party that has the majority in the House will form the Government and the leader of such party will become the 'leader of Government Business' which was later designated as 'Premeir of Western Region' 2) Dr Azikiwe contested and was elected as a member of the Western House of Assembly representing Lagos. 3) Dr Azikiwe , being the leader of the NCNC, (the erstwhile dominant party in Southern Nigeria because of the widespread anti-colonial sentiments in the South) wanted to become the leader of Gov't in Western Region. 3) There were several smaller parties that contested. Some of these parties were actually Towns' unions e.g Ibadan People's Party, Ondo Improvement League, Edo Tax payers Association etc. 4) Some of the members elected on these smaller parties were mebers of either AG or NCNC. However, because of the evolution of the NCNC, many politically conscious Southerners at one time or the other were either their members, fans or sympathizers but many of the parliamentarians didn't contest on the platform of the NCNC. 5) On the day of the election, member of these smallers parties and independent candidates joined either the AG or the NCNC and eventually the AG had the majority, thus Awolowo, the leader of the AG was elected as the Leader and later Premier of the Western Region. |

It is funny when people living in mud house with brown call storey buildings name. If we don't do town planning how then does the occupants drive into their house? Do they carry their cars on their heads and jump fences?
The only thing we need from the federal government is to do their own federal roads or give the permit for individuals and state government to do it shikena For you to assume that individual houses digging bore holes is a superior to municipal pipe borne water system show that you know nothing about 'Housing, Urban and Regional Planning' Bore holes only became popular in Nigeria due to breakdown of municipal pipe borne water system in the early 1990s. So mere driving cars into your homes simply means adequate urban planning system? There is no points arguing further with you. |

Mr Audio Traveler Not everybody on Nairaland is a semi-educated trader. There are acceptable methods of comparing developments of States/Countries. If not for the fine on touching federal roads an individual would have done the Onitsha-Enugu expressway. Don't you know that the essence of business is providing what a society lacks to get profit. Anything lacking in East are being provided by individuals including construction of state government roads eg in Ịchị, Ozubulu and Uli of Anambra state. There are no municipal pipe borne water in many towns and villages in the S/east. There are haphazard development in Onitsha with poor regards to urban and regional planning. jimyjames: in achebe's words "The origin of the national resentment of the Igbo is as old as Nigeria and quite as complicated. "But it can be summarised thus: The Igbo " being receptive to change, individualistic and highly competitive, gave the Igbo man an unquestioned advantage over his compatriots in securing credentials for advancement in Nigerian colonial society. "Unlike the Hausa/Fulani he was unhindered by a wary religion and unlike the Yoruba unhampered by traditional hierarchies. This kind of creature, not fearing God nor man, was custom-made to grasp the opportunities, such as they were, of the white man's dispensation. And the Igbo did so with both hands. "Although the Yoruba had a huge historical and geographical head-start the Igbo wiped out their handicap in one fantastic burst of energy in the twenty years between 1930 and 1950. "Had the Igbo been a minor ethnic group of a few hundred thousand, their menace might have been easily and quietly contained. But they ran in their millions! Like J.P Clark's fine image of 'ants filing out of the wood' the Igbo moved out of their forest home, scattered and virtually seized the floor. "But this kind of success can carry a deadly penalty: the danger of hubris, overweening pride and thoughtlessness, which invites envy and hatred;" Prof Chinua Achebe Achebe wrote just like an ethnic supremacist not like an academic. There were no known acceptable research works referenced in this book to back up his claims. |
