What I am saying is that the insecurity in the Country can affect ANYBODY irrespective of the parties they support or their ethnicity. #So many FULANI have also become victims of the inscurity. Born2Breed: |
You are comparing oranges with apples. Dino's mother died of natural causes at old age and she wasn't planning to contest the next election. GISpro: |
Families of the victims of Christmas Day bomb blast at Madalla, Nyanya Bustop bomb blast, relatives of tens of MASSOB members killed &thrown into a river and the parents of the over 100 students of Government College, Buni Yadi that were burnt to death by B'Haram won't think Jonathan was trying to control anything. Robisky001: |
Even you too or your loved ones may also be victims of kidnappers, Boko Haram or Herdsmen. Insecurity is a problem to ALL Nigerians. I am sure Pa Fasorantin and his household never supported or voted for Buhari. Sen Ishiaku Abbo and his family are strong PDP members but his Uncle has just been killed and his step mother adopted. His mama was already old nau. Old people die naturally. Dino Melaye himself is an Afonja. iTearHerToto: |
You have the right to hate Aregbesola but you don't have the right to be spreading falsehoods and misinforming the readers on this forum. The Federal MILITARY Government under Gen Murtalar Muhammed acquired ALL Schools in Nigeria in 1976 to serve as platforms for delivering it's UPE and other educational policies. Although he failed in other areas, Aregbesola's educational policy reconstructed and renovated Schools in Osun State more than any administration. Staro: |
The Tinubu administration was the first in Nigeria to return Private schools (that the FG compulsorily aquired in 1976) to their previous owners in 2003. Nigeria is a Federal Republic, the idea that all the States should be doing the same things is a military mentality. Every State should pursue it's destiny in the best ways it can. During the era of semi-indepedence and in the First Republic, Western Region introduced Primary School with Pry 1-6 , Secondary Modern Schools , Secondary Grammar Schools and Technical colleges in 1955. In Northern Region, the system was : Elementary Schools (Pry 1-7)=> Middle Schools=> Provincial Schools. Nairaland is full of extreme tribaliststs who only see every issue from the prism of 'We Vs Them' Juliusmalema: |
Who is this Grandson? Nemesis909: |

Rano and Gaya Actually predates Kano Emirate. Their Emirates were dissolved and absorbed into Kano Emirate. Bichi Emirate is an upgrading. Many Past Hakimi (District Heads) of Bichi have become Emirs of Kano (including the grandfather of Emir Sanusi) J111333: |
I am sorry if my response was a bit harsh. You see Nairaland has become too toxic with Tribalism that it's difficult to have intelligent discussion on the site. As per Yorubas bravery/cowardice, my take is that Individuals may be cowards or brave but not a whole ethnic group. There are Yoruba, Nupe, Igbo, Fulani, Ewe, Kanuri ,Fon brave men so also there are Igala, Yoruba, Tiv, Igbo or Efik cowards. It's wrong to assess an ethnic group in the same way we assess individuals or by the actions/inactions of one or few individuals. nisai: |
I am not into your game of inter-tribal contests/bashing. Go and look for people at your level of intelligence that you can be doing 'Afonja Vs Osu' contest. nisai: |
She will languish in prison and by then all these Feminists won't be there to help her. It's unfortunate that she will eventually be raped mercilessly in the prison by Prisoners/ prison warders. She didn't act with wisdom. She will be crying by now in police cells (if not already reminded in prison). I truly feel for her. The guy is her BF, women know tricks to get their men off from sex if they don't won't. victorian: |
It's to see feminists arguing about a legal issue solely from emotional views. Harm inflicted on another person in the name of self defence will also be subjected to Legal scrutiny so that it's not abuse. Stopping low from the Head down to the groin so as to bite off the Joystick will be very hard to pass as an act of 'self defence'. victorian: |
There are locally made steel sir. Ife &Iron Steel Ltd, Ile-Ife and Prism Steel Ltd, Ikirun, both in Osun State can and indeed manufacture steel plates that can be used in the production of the vehicles. MondayOsunbor: |
Eh en. Igbo cow? Okay, thanks for this new piece of information. As soon as I leave this mud House in Oshogbo, I will tell every other person living in mud houses around to start buying cow Igbo which will soon flood our markets. Thanks once again. Success1020: |
I never knew Animal Tribalism exist! So Animals also have tribes such that we can now have Cow-Igbo? johndoexxx: |
You have spoken well sir, but this is off points. The topic of discussion is about Atiku and his petitions. SolexOlenin: |
Nairaland is offering evil tribaliststs a platform propagate their dangerous opinions about people from other tribes which should not be supported in any sane environment. Almost everythread on Nairaland eventually leads to inter-tribal e-war. Kenneth10110: |
Do you know that Amaratasha is a Matron in the Hospital? Accord her the respect she deserves pls. MetaPhysical: |
1) Peace and progress in Nigeria is entirely different matter. 2) Alaska, Hawaii and Texas are States in the USA with equal level of autonomy like other States, so which self rule are you talking about the? Texas has produced Presidents of the USA. 3) Irish and Scottish referenda were done with the approval, support and sponsorship of the British Government. The United Kingdom is an old Monarchy with no single written constitution but they are governed based on Tradition, treaties and conventions. 4) Some modern Countries that practice federalism have constitutions and some have secession clauses e.g USA. 5) Biafra and other like minded Nigerians can become a majority that can effect a constitutional change but this will take time and alot of negotiations. 6) On a personal note, Nigeria would have been better if the Military didn't truncate the First Republic. The Independence constitution was arrived at by all parts of the Country after years of discussions, conferences, horse trading and negotiations. We should have just amended that constitution to bring it up to date and continue but the Military destroyed that opportunities, plunged the young fragile Country into avoidable civil war and centralized powers in ways that bring unnecessary tensions. kingzizzy: |
Atiku will defeat El-Rufai. Atiku is running in 2023 and all these Election Petitions is part of his preparations for 2023. Takadboi: |
Thank you and God bless you sir. You can't believe this; I started understanding and experiencing Tribalism when I went for NYSC at the age of 30years. My experience and awareness of the level of Tribalism in Nigeria quadrupled when I joined Nairaland about 3years ago! Kenneth10110: |
1) The alternative is to challenge Nigeria in war and defeat the country. 2) There is no where in the world where a sovereign country easily agree to it's own disintegration. The USA fought bitter civil war for years in the 1860s to prevent the secession of 10 Southern States. Northern Ireland is still battling (as a component of The United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland) to join Southern Ireland despite 800 years of British domination and union. Catalonian unilateral independence referendum was annulled by the supreme Court of Spain despite 500years of Spanish rule. Up till this moment, China is still claiming sovereignty over Taiwan eventhough Taiwan has operated as an independent country since 1949. Hong Kong and Macao are still parts of China till today. 3) Countries that that have session clauses in their constitutions also tie it's success to the approval of other parts of the country. In the USA, a State can only seceed if it's request is supported by 2/3rd votes in Congress and among the States' legislatures. kingzizzy: |
Gradually, Nigeria will be restructured (whether we like it or not) as we try to solve one problem or the other. |
Support Biafra in which ways sir? In my own opinion, the best way to get Biafra without going to war is 1) Firstly, define the area that will constitute Biafra without any ambiguity. 2) Rally the masses and POLITICAL LEADERS of the S/East to the Biafran side or get Biafran sympathizers voted into Governments of the S/East. 3) Mount pressure on your Political leaders to negotiate with the leaders of the other Geo-Political zones so that the Constitution can be amended to include secession clause which can then be invoked (with the consesus of other Nigerians) to ensure peaceful disembarment of the Country. 4) On a personal note, I don't believe there is anything sancrosant about the unity of Nigeria but Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB's methods won't work. selemempe: |
1) Successful Business men like Coscharis run their Business largely on economic principles and not Tribalism. They site their Businesses in areas with the greatest rewards on investments. 2) If the so-called 100,000 business men should move their Businesses to Aba, Lokoja, Akure, Nsukka, Agbor, Nnewi, Funtua, Aguleri, Sokoto, Aboh or Okigwe, they will record massive losses. 3) The profits made by Coscharis ,out of which they are able to pay tax comes from Other Nigerians with substantial economic power (largely residing in Lagos) that buy their products. 4) Igbos have been migrating to Lagos for economic reasons since the Colonial era. There are Millions of Igbos in Ibadan, Benin,Oshogbo, Ilorin , Kano, Calabar, Warri, Kaduna, Jos, Yola and even in War torn Borno doing one form of business or the other. Is this also due to Nigeria's lopsided federalism? kettykin: |
Which nothing wrong? The brother will see everything wrong with it. Stop it now! Adultery don't start suddenly, they often start with similar romantic gestures with a person that's not your spouse. SmellingAnus: |
However, the non-good Christians and Muslims have rights to watch the Programme. All the good Christians and good Muslims should allow the non-good ones enjoy their lives. Tamasaba: |
Although I am not a fan of the PDP, the general perception in Osun State is that Adeleke actually won the election. |
