Eeeyah, Kpele.
I can now understand you better.

Politics and Political office holders have little or nothing to do with the ordinary people on the streets that meet one another and if they find each other suitable enough, may get married to each other.

The VP and the Speaker ,to the best of my knowledge have one wife each and none of them is Igbo, so they couldn't have been the source of your worries.

The Yoruba Political office holders are not the problems of Ndigbo.

1) In the First Republic, the Yoruba didn't hold any position in the topmost echelon of Government.

President= Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe
Senate President= Prince Nnwafor Orizu
Speaker= Rt Hon. Aja Nwachukwu.

2) In the Second Republic, the Yorubas didn't hold any position in the top most echelon of Government.

Vice President= Dr Alex Ekueme
Speaker= Hon Godwin Ume-Ezeoke.

...So Bros, relax and just take three bottles of chilled Hero beer with a plate of Isi-Ewu from Mama Nkechi in your street.

You don't seems to get the the story well.

Even the Emeka, Uchenna or Ugochukwu in Kazaure, Hadeijia, Nafada, Offa, Gboko, Agenebode, Ikot Abasi,Akure, Ekpoma or Otta are also thinking of marrying Hadiza, Bosede, Bisi, Ekaette, Adesua, Yinka,Funke or Halimat.

You must be very young to think the issues of Love or the choice of a marriage partner can be restricted to only your tribe.

Let me counsel you; marry the person that loves you and has the fears of God.

Even members of your own family can betray or plan evil for you. It's pure fallacy to assume that if you marry from your tribe or even home town that your marriage will be a happy one.

I know many people whose parents are 100% Yorubas but whose father always beat their mums and I know people whose parents are mixed and they have more peace and love.

A FULANI, Nupe, Yoruba, Tiv or Idoma can even save you or uplift you.

I have given you the simple explanation.

There are millions of Igbos living outside Igboland.

When you reach the time to marry, you will chose one of the people around you, one of the people you see regularly or transact business with daily.

It's easier for Amarachi, Ngozika, Chisom, Obiageli or Adaora living in Lagos, Oshogbo, Ijebu-Ode, Ilorin or Jebba to fall in love with Segun her childhood crush, Mutiu her old classmate, Tunde her Pastor's son, Shola the SUG President or Taofeek ,her next door neighbor than Okeke, Ikechukwu or Ikemefuna living in Aba, Nnewi, Aguleri, Bende, Orlu,Nkpor or Tochukwu ,the son of the Igwe of Ozadi

#I am a victim of such nonsense Tribalism. When I was doing my NYSC in Potiskum, Yobe , my then fiancee was an Igbolady named Amarachi (God bless her real good). She used to lead praise and worship in our fellowship then.
She is a child of God and was a virgin at 25years!

All the Igbo names I mentioned above were real people in my life that I had emotional contact with either as Childhood sweetheart, classmates, crush or unsuccessful GF but Amarachi surpassed them all.

She thought me the little Igbo I understand and she was so so sweet baby.
The other Igbo corpers and some Igbo families in Town were strongly against our relationship but she always tell me whatever they said.

So many people from both sides poured sand sand in our relationship. I was relatively naive and I experienced about life then, I should have stood my ground.

Igbo women are the human resources of Igbo land.

As far as I am concerned, we did not seat and decide to give all our women away to every Tom, Dick and Harry.

We did not reach an agreement to throw our women out of Igbo land.

It appears most women just approach this matter purely from emotional point of views.

1) Even most 'supporters' of the pastor believe he had sex with that lady in 1999.

2) However, the bone of contention is that 'it was not a case of rape'. The pastor took advantage of her inexperience and naivety.

Most ladies are disvirgined in this way.

3) In sexual intercourses that happen between two people who are already well familiared with each other, especially where there is elements of affection, it's difficult to prove a case of rape.

On a personal opinion, when a lady has feelings for a man (even if it's inappropriate), it's difficult for the lady to violently resist the man.

The pastor ought to have known this and not took advantage of this weakness.

However, I think the Pastor was also a young man 20years ago. He fell into temptations.

safarigirl:
Most Nairalanders were not being objective, most are rape apologists, hence the lot who kept saying "This one is normal" and kept saying someone was fighting the house of God. There are hundreds of apologists on Nairaland, and no, it wasn't about due process, they were blatantly supporting rape and saying "she enjoyed it" and the storu does not add up. Not one of them said "Fatoyinbo should sue for defamation if the allegations are false".....that is what a logical person, who wants to heae two sides would have said. Or do you think the court is only for one wronged party?

If Fatoyinbo felt wronged or unjustly accused, he should have also sued for defamation. That is what someone who calls themselves logical should have said, but most Nairalanders were busy fighting for Fatoyinbo and attacking the victim, puncturing holes in her story while none of them had a word to say of Fatoyinbo's watery defence

If you want to speak for yourself, do so, but I don't see why that comment should concern you if you aren't a rape apologist.

Majority of the people on NL are either rapists or rape apologists, logic is far from them

Even if 100 women come out that he has slept/molested/ raped them, their statements can NOT serve as evidence that he actually raped Busola in 1999.

The trial is not whether Pastor Fatoyinbo likes women or he is an adulterer but to establish whether he raped a woman called Busola in 1999 as alleged by Busola.

The alleged rape took place in Ilorin, Kwara State.

It will be decided by the courts in Kwara State under the laws of Kwara State.

ornicus:
In addition to that, the power most rapists hold over their victims is shame. By coming out, she has taken that from him. Also, she has made certain that EVERYTHING is in the public space. No opportunity for pastor to engage some police to kill the case.

The case will be prosecuted in lagos, a very progressive state that has aggressively pushed for female protections.

I also suspect that there is a lot more information eg old medical reports that will come out.

Christianity Etc › Re: Timi Dakolo Married In My Church, I Knew Of The Rape-Pastor Yemi Davids by oyatz(m): 10:32pm On Jul 04, 2019
The Status of limitations is a time period specified by law during which a case must be brought before a court of competent jurisdiction.

In Nigeria, repe cases are NOT time barred and thus status of limitations is not applicable.

A good example,where the status of limitations may be applicable is in the cases of election petitions.

Not all cases are justiciable and there is also something known as Status of Limitations which can also be a hindrance to seeking redress in court.

Warri and Calabar can be re-designated for 'Light weights' Cargoes.

Heavy Duty Ocean liners can berth in Apapa, Lekki, Araromi (Ondo State) and their contents can be off loaded in batches to Light weight Cargoes which will berth at Warri or Calabar.

What we need is to invest more in water transportation through establishment of many Shipping companies, construction of access roads to our ports for easy evacuation of goods and long-term reduction in importation in favour of exportation.

The question, why Ondo? is therefore legitimate but YOUR tribalism and hatred wont let you see the logic in it.

Okay, I have heard your point. You can make your points knowns without using foul languages.

You see, no language is superior to another.
For instance,

Amen= Isee (Bini)= Asee(Yoruba)= Isee(Igbo)
King= Oba (Yoruba)= Oba(Bini)

Child= Omo(Bini)= Omo(Yoruba)= Oma(Igala)

Mouth= Enu(Yoruba)= Onu(Igbo)
Man= Okoro(Igbo)= Okunrin (Yoruba)
Okorocha (Igbo)= Okunrinpupa (Yoruba)
Stool= Akpati (Bini)=Apoti (Yoruba)= Akpati (Igbo).

All these shows that these languages might have descended from a common ancestral language and each may be original on it's own (not borrowed)
