what are my chances in front of the consular officer

Biotechnology is the earn thing in the science of Agriculture .The Federal Government is in high demand of graduates with the cert. Most Agricultural Institutes in Nigeria are been upgraded to Biotechnological Centers to meet up with MDGs and also Vision 20-20-20

U have already answered the question yourself.
Your chances is in the bolded part.Just tell them the above confidently and u should be good. They all know that major change do happens and tell them the truth and nothing but the truth as u illustrated here.Honestly speaking if u can repeat what u wrote above at your interview u gonna get your Visa cos they like to see people relating their Major to the MDG and Vision 2090 sorry 2020 grin grin grin
Your age is nothing to them so far u have something to show that u wasn't idle since u left Secondary school.Just present your Food Science degree to cover that part.Your job experience is even a plus.

1. She is older than me wt a year & 8 months

3. She is very jealous & can't stand seeing me wt another lady, most time screening my phone SMS.
4. My parents disapprove the marriage because my uncle married 4rom their family her elder sister(but said they re good family)

6. Am part-time undergraduate, the financial obligation might affect my biz.
7. She's 30 now & am 29

Honestly were u guys blind when u met?Cos all the stupid excuses u provided above were already there before u met each other. Why complain now when u have already went this far.8 years out of your life is something.
If u break that relationship after 8 years ur life will never remain the same again.

Contact the American Embassy and explain your problem to them. There should be a way to help if it's an emergency.A friend of mine once got stranded in France and had to call the American Embassy there and they immediately put in on the next available Delta Airline flight back home.
Let them know your plight they will surely know what to do

TravelRe: Accommodation In The Washington Dc Area For Newcomer by oyewolejos(m): 11:33pm On Jul 08, 2010
Man once step at a time. There is no Manager that will give out accomodation to a faceless individual.
U have to be physically present to sign the paper work. Moreover u will need a credit before u can rent an apartment so here lies your problem.Since u are new here, hardly can u find apartments without having credit.Your best bet is to look for 9jerians around that can help with credit so u can use their name to get an apartment. After credit u still need a security deposit before u can move in which is a month rent of the house. For example if the monthly payment is $500 then u need $1000 before u can move in.It's gonna be hard if u don't know anybody here but if u are bringing in money then u should be fine cos money talks bull$hit walks.
Dont take the risk of coming here without money or any relatives.
There is more to it than meets the eye.
Who no come no go know how far.

@johnjay,
are you sayin if i get the licence from the state i plan to reside, i cant drive interstate? OR?
Pls all in the states, enlighten me
Thanks
If u have a state driver's license u can drive in the whole US and sometimes in Canada. But if u want to change your former state license to the new state just go to their DMV and pay for change of License. In this case u dont have to take the driving test all over again.
Any license issued in any state here is valid throughout the US and in Canada.
Contact your local DMV for case by case information
Cheers
im not sure abt international drivers license, they may and may not let u use it or u might have to get a US license.

as for car insurance, its mandatory. there are different companies that u can call up and get a approx rate and from there choose the insurance plan that best suits your need and that is affordable.
About Driving, every state has different laws about driving.Like here in California u can drive for 3 months with International Driver's license written in English then u can also apply for a California State license if u are legal immigrant.Though most state doesn't recognise International driving license from Nigeria cos they know that even a blind man can get a Drivers License in Nigeria so is better u stay off driving till u get your State Driver's license.
On insurance u dont need to pay much.Just approach a family or friend to add your car on their insurance so by the end of the month u gonna be paying them like $50 which is better off since u are a new driver here.
But if u find the Full coverage insurance advisable then u can approach insurance companies for quotes.
Full coverage is advisable if u own a very expensive car.But if your car is just an average car thenit makes economical sense

TravelRe: My Parents And The Us Visa Lottery. by oyewolejos(m): 5:05pm On Jul 02, 2010
lovelynk:
Hello all,
my parents,51 and 56 years old just won the 2011 visa lottery to the US,Alone. They did not include any of us their 7 kids.
actaully my big sister ,i and kid brother are over 21 so we arent eligible, but my 4 younger sibblings are teenagers and eligible
Now both parents are not educated,my mum only finished secondary school while my dad did not finish.I very much doubt their capacity to go bak to school in the states.
again, our family has faced some financial hard ship in the past years wt business going downhill, but recently things just started looking up a lil bit for us.
Now considering all these, their age, education ,business and in particular the fact they might neva go bak to school,is it advisable they make the move?
Considering their age and their level of education then it will amount to suicide if they decide to come here to come and hustle.Had it been they are educated now they can come here and work as a professional. But since they aint educated then they will be coming here to do menial jobs which is not good for them at this their age.
But since u said things have started looking up financially for them they can come here with money and establish something like a Group Home or a Day Care which old Nigerian normally do here. With that they can be making money and make a way for u kids to come over.
Since they won the Green Card it will be advisable for them to leave the stress associated with Nigeria and come here for a better life only if they can bring cash to come and put something here.Since age is not on their side anymore they need the best out of life so let them come.Theywill have access to God health care which they neeed at this age.
Just my 2 cents though

@Omo Alata:

This was what i experienced while i was coming back to Nigeria from india via Doha. i had 2 hrs delay in India, so on getting to qatar for transit, it was announced that the plane has left. so we met the ground crew of qatar, they said nigerians this way, other the other way. they collected our passport. Then, told others to go and join the bus to hotel and said to nigerian, that we are not allowed into their country.my head wan explode that day.

Pls there is no link, i am the link.
if u doubt it, try qatar and make sure u have miss your connecting flight in doha , also with nigeria passport, then come and tell us your story.
End of story.
Since u missed your connecting flight then u must have a transit Visa to enter Qatar as a Nigerian Passport Holder. This regulations has nothing to do with the airline but the Country immigration laws which require a Nigerian to have a visa to enter their country.
The blame should be on the Nigerian leaders who has made the nigerian passport worthless through their actions.
By the way Qatar Airways is one of the best if not the best Asian Airline.Had a 8 hour stop over in Doha on my way to New York in January and it was smooth.I had a very nice flight with them so this your story is somehow new to me cos they are one of the reputed airline

thanks for the great job you have been doing here, you have really helped dudes man.

i intend applying to CSU for my msc, i have been to the college of business and economics webpage of the CSU and located the dept of finance, real estate and insurance which i am interested in. however, they dont seem to have a masters program, my question is, 1. would i need to do gmat to apply as i transfer student, 2. do you knw if they have a masters degree program for that course in that dept.
finally, i owuld appreciate if you could give me an email addy i can liase with, thank you.
California State Universities have about 24 campuses which is located in almost everywhere in Cali.I attend the California State Univerty at Northridge so if my school didn't have those courses which i doubt then u can check out other campuses.I think u should go and do your GMAT though most they might waive it for u but trust me u still gonna do some courses to remedy the GMAT which u will pay alot of money for.Its advisable u have ur GMAT.Application for Spring 2011 will start in August so u can still have time to do the GMAT.
For posterity sake i won't be able to exchange my email with u, for the benefit of others just ask your questions here and i will respond accordingly so others can gain from it since its an open forum lets throw it open.
