NgeneUkwenu: We'll arrest more influential Nigerians soon - EFCC chair
The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, has said more influential Nigerians would soon be arrested to face prosecution as the EFCC under him has reinvigorated the fight against corruption in Nigeria.
Mr. Magu, who made the disclosure on Wednesday in Abuja at a forum with online and broadcast media managers, said since his appointment as acting chairman of the EFCC, he had undertaken the re-ordering of the agency’s priorities for effective implementation of its mandate.
“The effect of this, which is obvious for all to see, is the investigation, arrest and prosecution of some of the most powerful forces in Nigeria, who have questions to answer on their stewardship whilst in office.
“A former National Security Adviser, former ministers, former governors, serving and retired military men, a media mogul and several others, are among those we have called to answer critical questions concerning the management of our commonwealth.
“As we speak, many more influential Nigerians are on the radar of the EFCC and, in the coming weeks, they would have their days in court and Nigerians will be kept fully abreast of the results of our investigations,” Mr. Magu said.
The EFCC boss said in carrying out the mandate of the commission, he has been guided by the “fear of God, national interest and the rule of law”.
Mr. Magu said apart from bringing corrupt public officers to justice, the EFCC under his leadership is determined, in line with the stance of the current administration under President Muhammadu Buhari to send “unmistakable message” to everyone, that no Nigerian shall be regarded as above the law or treated as sacred cow as far as the fight against corruption is concerned.
The EFCC chairman, however, said the commission cannot succeed in carrying out its mandate without the support of the media.
He said the EFCC already has the support of all relevant bodies and organizations.
He said he held a meeting with the president on Wednesday, and that the message from Mr. Buhari was nothing but total support for the agency.
“By far more inspirational is the political will of Mr. President to fight corruption. This unbending will, which some now call body language has given the needed traction to the anti-graft campaign,” he said.
Mr. Magu said Mr. Buhari’s resolve to fight corruption in Nigeria was underlined by his comments during his maiden media chat last Wednesday where he swore not to spare anyone found to be corrupt.
Mr. Magu quoted the president as saying, “I don’t …tolerate corruption. When I was Head of State, I didn’t put anybody above the law. At this time, I assure you, I will not put anybody above the law… If anyone is caught, I will not only sack (him or her) but will ensure that the case is taken to court”.
He added that the president’s resolve is complemented by that of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mahmud Mohammed, who, during the last All Nigerian Judges’ Conference, declared unwavering support for the war on corruption.
He added that at that same judges conference, Mr. Buhari expressed the concern of the Nigerian people for the undue delays experienced in the trial of corruption suspects.
The judiciary, he said, has responded with some practical steps in the form of the designation of selected courts to try EFCC cases and some practice directions.
“We believe that when holistically and effectively put into practice, the measures would drastically cut the time corruption cases spend in court before Nigerians know whether the accused is guilty as charged or innocent of the crime.
“As a Commission, the EFCC is very determined to put into productive effect, the provisions of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, (ACJA), 2015. This law, which has been rightly labeled a legal “revolution”, by none other than Professor Itse Sagay, chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-corruption, could not have come at a better time than now, when Nigerians are yearning for justice.
“On the part of the EFCC, I can assure you that the effect of our even more penetrating investigations and commitment to rid Nigeria of all forms of corruption and economic and financial crimes can –and will continue to be– seen from the cases we take to court for trial,” he said.
No political witch hunt
Mr. Magu also responded to comments from participants at the forum that a lot of Nigerians have a feeling that the ongoing war against corruption appears targeted at members of the opposition.
He said by his orientation, he has nothing to with politics and is therefore, not doing the bidding of a political party.
“Such accusations have come up a lot, but, we work with petitions before us, in fact, I am eager and waiting for something from the other side, but nothing has come so far,” he said.
Mr. Magu also said he had never been a fan of plea bargaining, adding however that he works within the laws of the land.
The managing editor of PREMIUM TIMES, Musikilu Mojeed, who spoke on behalf of the President of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers, Malachy Agbo, said the group is fully committed to the ongoing fight against corruption and pledged the support of members to the EFCC.
He also asked Mr. Magu to consider partnering with the group in training journalists.

Family › Re: Married As A Second Wife For Child-Bearing by ozimec(m): 11:43pm On Dec 21, 2015 |
sherina10: Hello I'm 23 years old, a graduate and currently serving.
I met a guy sometimes in 2012 and we got into into a relationship along the line he told me he was married but had issue with his wife and they are separated but he didn't tell me what d issue was.
I couldn't care less then because I had issue with my elders sister's husband whom I was staying with and he sent me packing. They were the one sponsoring my education. I was broke, confused and frustrated with no money. I called my in law to apologize he wouldn't pick up, send sms in fact I did everything I could to make him forgive me but it seems its heart was made up then, I was left with no choice but to move on then I just finished the semester for 300 level going to 400 level with no savings in my account and my heart was full of anger and hatred.
Above is the reason why I couldn't care less, then i was totally broke with no love from anyone expect this guy, in fact to me he was God sent then because really he saved me from a lot of sufferings.
He helped me move on with no stress, again I was comfortable and I don't need my sister's money for anything but he told me that he wanted to get married to me which I accepted because I cant afford to loose him.
Along the line he reconciled with his wife and he told me that he had reconciled with his wife and he told her about me and his intention to marry me and she accepted. Note: they are muslim n i'm a Christian When he told me about this I wasn't comfortable with it because I wasn't interested in polygamy in fact at the beginning I lost interest in everything when he told me he was married but I couldn't let go because of the comfort. He is not very rich but he is comfortable.
We kept on seeing each other, he is very okay in person, very religious, very caring, he had it all and I love him very much. All he wanted was marriage, I got to know his wife who happen to be very nice too and sometimes I wonder why a woman will become that nice to her husband's Everything was going fine and I got deep into promise of I will marry him too to the point of no return again I was left with no choice than to get married to him. FAST FORWARD.......... We are currently married(polygamy) Separate apartment (the two houses are close by) no transport needed. 24hours with each wife No fighting Provide's everything equally JEALOUS? Deal with it whatever way you can but you have no right to confront your mate over anything because she isn't married to you.
The marriage is going on fine if you can deal with the above.
My GRIEVIANCE 1. I just find out that he married me (if not me then another) for child bearing His wife had health issues and he wants a particular number of children. How did I know this? He told me himself. When I stressed on it he told me that if he married me for child rearing how come we are still together because i lost a pregnancy not long after we got married.
2. He doesn't keep any of his personal belongings in the apartment the both of us is sharing. But he brings some office document and somethings when he needs them and take it back when he is done
3. He doesn't receive visitors in our apartment. Reasons: I don't cover my head and his friends isn't comfortable looking at me because it's as if i'm naked to them. 4. Sometimes I feel ashamed of being a second wife, I cant tell my friends, sometimes when we discuss marital issue they always complain about money but I don't while they are I like I wish i'm comfortable like u, In my mind I will be like I wish I can get a husband to myself like u . Pathetic? Yes.
All in all the marriage has not been bad but my senses just can't accept it that i'm a 2nd fiddle, maybe because of the way I was raised or because it is a taboo to my Christian faith.
I want a divorce because he has bridged his marriage contract, he told me initially that wife is wife in islam, there is no difference between 1st, 2nd to infinto wives but I cant cope with the above because I feel he lied to me. I can't be in a marriage because of children.
CRITICISM is allowed but please advise while you do so or after you have done that.
It is worthy to NOTE that we never committed fornication/adultery before the marriage because he said its against its religion. If you want any kpekus (whether extra, supplementary or whatever) then get married first, lol. My dear take my advice, for heaven sake, pls quit the marriage. You're sharing another woman's husband and that is adultery before God. |
Politics › Pdp Left Nigeria Better Than It Met It- Soludo by ozimec(op): 8:27am On Dec 21, 2015 |
Every team serious about ‘change’ starts with a clear identification of the baseline from which it measures deviations/progress. Nigeria has had 16 uninterrupted years of democracy with the PDP controlling the federal government as well as majority of the states. APC is now in charge at both the centre and majority of the states. A minimum standard for measuring ‘change’ is the extent to which APC government beats the record of the PDP in measurable terms. As the saying goes, if you can’t measure it, you can’t improve/change it! Government must strengthen the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and preserve its independence to produce and publish credible national statistics. It needs serious funding. I really wish our policymakers can be a little less careless or casual about the use of official statistics. I criticised the last government for relying on ‘estimates’ by World Bank staff instead of the NBS statistics. When I hear the narrative so far in the media by the new government regarding the economy, I take it largely as the kind of ‘usual propaganda’ new officials deploy to show that their predecessors “did nothing” and therefore lay the ground for claiming that they are “doing everything for the first time in our history”. Fortunately also, there are many people as well taking a hard look at the numbers and recording scores. At AfriHeritage, we are developing a template for measuring government performance. As Nigeria has largely evolved into a two party state in a democracy, I prefer to frame the discourse on the baseline as ‘PDP’s legacy and the APC’s challenge’! Since it is the practice to blame the PDP for every ill that befell our country in the last 16 years (and there are many of them) it is also fair to credit them with the positive ones. According to data from NBS, one outstanding legacy of the PDP is that in 16 years it held sway, it more than doubled the GDP of Nigeria (indeed with average year-on-year GDP growth rate in excess of 6% over the past 12 years, the GDP actually doubled within the last 12 years. It met average annual growth rate of about 2% and raised it to 6-7%, led by the non-oil sector. Yes, non-oil sector, and the “diversification” reported in the recently re-based GDP happened within the last 16 years. Will the economy more than double in the next 12 years under the APC? For me, if only the APC can double the size of GDP from about $550 billion to $1.1 trillion in 12 -16 years, and further half the poverty index, Nigeria will indeed be on course to be one of the largest 10 economies in the world by the end of this century. As at 1999 when PDP came to power, Nigeria was largely a pariah state still lucky to have survived as one indivisible sovereign, especially in the context of the struggle by NADECO and restiveness in many parts of the country. On corruption, Transparency International scored it 1.6 out of 10 and ranked 98 out of 99 countries in 1999. Nigeria was listed among four countries that were non-compliant on the anti-money laundering rules by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). We could not service our external debt and relied on stressful rescheduling, with all the intrusive donor conditionalities. Poverty was estimated at 70%, and unemployment at nearly 20%. The 1990s will go down in our economic history as the decade of stagnation: when per capita income growth was zero. [b]Average oil price in May 1999 when President Obasanjo took over was $15.24 while stock of reserves was about $5 billion.
After 16 years, several challenges remain and some have even worsened (especially insecurity). Although President Jonathan’s regime had the worst economic management relative to the resources at its disposal, it must be stressed that tremendous progress was made in the aggregate 16 years of PDP government. Yes, it should have left more than $100 billion in reserves but left only $30 billion (still about six times of what it met). We also wish that Jonathan’s team did not leave Nigeria with unprecedented rate of debt accumulation. But, according to statistics from NBS, the PDP handed over a $550 billion economy (largest in Africa and 26th in the world), with 7.5% unemployment rate (better than European Union, France, Sweden, Belgium, etc although the underemployment figure is much higher); 32%?? poverty rate (as claimed by the former Finance Minister, or 61%??: NBS needs to clarify this claim); a stock of reserves of $30 billion; GDP growth rate averaging 6% over last 12 years; a relatively more diversified economy, with ICT penetration from 0.2% to over 60%, and a new contributory pension scheme now with trillions of Naira in pension fund. Our external debt is down although total debt stock is escalating. Our Gini coefficient (degree of inequality) is not different from China’s. Nigeria has consolidated and stronger banking system that currently finances both government debt and the private sector, with a relatively vibrant capital market. The capitalization of the Nigerian Stock Exchange grew from less than N1 trillion to N12 trillion as at handover. For the first time, Nigerian economy is now rated by credit rating agencies (Fitch, and Standard and Poor’s). Even on corruption perception, Nigeria is far better today than in 1999, and PDP created the two major anti-corruption agencies— ICPC and EFCC, and as at 2014 TI scored Nigeria 2.7 and ranked 136 out of 175 countries. PDP secured debt relief for Nigeria, thereby relieving Nigeria from the stranglehold of the IMF/World Bank policy conditionalities. APC does not have to negotiate with Washington on many economic policies. The list is long. [b]The point therefore is that despite the fall in oil price, APC is starting from a much stronger base than PDP did in 1999 and the challenge now is to do far better. In the coming years, Nigerians will be asking APC to show us their figures! |

beleza: I am not in a good situation at the moment. I am in love with a guy who has a girlfriend. Before you judge me here is my story.I am a lady in my late 20s, pretty, funny, lovable and a good christian but the major problem I have been facing since I knew about dating is the kind of guys I get attracted, they are usually cool but unserious, have commitment issues, are emotionally unavailable and just want to sleep with me.I am very emotional and I tend to show my feelings towards a guy so soon.Secondly I have never had a relationship that lasted more than six months.
In my 4 years in the university, I didnt have any relationship, not that i didnt want but guys were not just coming. My friends always felt I should have a lot of admirers because of my looks but the reverse was the case. After school, the few ones I tried to have, turned out sour. One was my former fellowship pastor so I thought he will be serious as he was old enough for marriage. This was about 4 years ago.I was disappointed when I realised that he was just after sex.He started acting up, withdrawing, saying I was disturbing him emotionally and that he is tired.Later, he said we should do friends with benefit, I just cut him off totally. This was a supposed pastor trying to take advvantage of my weakness.
A year later in 2013 met another dude.It didnt last up to six months before we broke up due to our numerous differences.he also didnt make a commitment, the major thing was that we liked ourselves. It took me a long time to get time over him.fast forward to this year met a very funny and inteeligent guy.we met on an online socialnetworking site.he is in his 30's and he seemed just like my perfect man. There was this connection I had with him and we could talk about anything at anytime.snooped on his social media accounts and I didnt see any signs of a lady or girlfriend so I felt the coast was clear.Only for me to ask him one day and he says he is in a relationship, even showed me her photo.I had already started having feelings for him, it was hard to turn back.We were so attracted to each other and it was to hard to resist him even though I knew he just wanted sex from me.Dude travels out and isnt communicating like before, even though he told me his gf is in nigeria but I wasn't convinced.
Our major fallout was when on my birthday I didnt get message fro him until a day later, I decided to send a nasty message to him saying he was just after my body and all.Dude gets angry, I started apologising almost immediately, this happed in October.he just reads my messages doesnt reply doesnt pick my calls.Since the incident happend, I havent been myself, I have never begged or apologised to any one like this in my life, I have cried almost everyday for the past two months, I cant concentrate at work.He recently came back but didn't tell me but I found out on my own.Went to his house a few days ago unannounced just to apologize, He got more angry in the process saying he warned not to come without telling him.He said he has forgiven me and also apologized for leading on but ended up saying he has issues with people that dont trust him.The worst part is he knows I love him so he is doing this to hurt me more.
I just cant get him out of my mind, I think about him everyday, I am in a dilemma.we never had sex, we just kissed and touched so I dont understand what is going on. I still sent him msgs yesterday but he just read them and didnt reply.I have uninstalled my whatsapp because of him so I cant send him msgs.At this point, I am fed up, I don't why love treats me like this. I need your advice asap . You don't need to be desperate about getting hooked with a man despite your age. Just relax your mind the right person will come OK. As for the wrong man you are falling in love with, pls you need to forget about him, he doesn't love or have any feeling for you. Thank God you have not slept with him so, better run away from him now and do yourself a favour by not giving yourself to men so that they won't see you as being cheap thereby will not value you. Based on your description of your personality above, I think you are an asset, every man's dream wife therefore, stop seeing yourself as being unfortunate. |

Either the act is good or bad, right or wrong, all I care is that this shit is sucking my happiness. I can not go a day without self-service. Is now 13yrs I been doing this shit!
I want to stop. I know i'm addicted to it; so many times I have vowed never to engage in it again, but the more I shake It the more it stinks.
pls what can I do?
I want to quit! I don't want to believe that my life depend on it.
I know some of you might have once involve in this mess before, please just tell me what I need to know. why I need to stop, and how to stop it.
Help a brother!!!!! Brother, I understand your situation well. To be honest with you, it's only God that can help you out of this. Just surrender to him, bearing in mind that each time you commit masturbation that you offend him. Also know that you masturbate is as a result of your mind set, if you don't conceive it in your heart then you cannot do it. So stop thinking about it, don't be alone when idle instead read bible or books anything that will get your mind off from the thought of masturbation, see it as evil against your body and God. Politics › They Gave Us Only £20 After Biafra Civil War by ozimec(op): 11:45am On Dec 10, 2015 |
Explosive!!! They Gave Us only £20 After Biafra Civil War, Can it Solve Kwashiorkor? Akpabio Talks about Biafra Sponsored Link Weeklypostng.
Question: You have been very vocal lately in dismissing and trashing the then federal military government’s post-civil war efforts at the 3 Rs: Reconstruction, Reconciliation and Rehabilitation. What don’t you agree with?
AKPABIO: As a young man, you definitely will not understand me. But I was a victim of the Civil War. I was one of those who suffered the pains of the war. I was born sometime in 1962; the civil war came really into our area in 1967. So, I was probably five or six years old during the war; and if I had been around nine years, I would probably have been conscripted.
I saw parents throw their children into pit toilets because they did not want their positions to be made known to the enemy. I saw devastation; I saw kwashiorkor; I saw hunger; I saw thousands of people and bodies littered everywhere and smelling while vultures had a field day every day. I saw houses destroyed; I saw families scattered such that till the end of the world, they can never gather themselves together again. There were children who were shipped away to Gabon, and they can never come back to Nigeria again because they were small. How would two-year-olds and three-year-olds ever know where they came from? They are now proud Gabonese and I don’t think Nigerians are even asking questions.
So, during the Silverbird Man of the Year Award, there were pictures that were shown of the Civil War. Somebody, sitting by me, who is from the West, was asking if those things were acted: the Kwashiorkor-ridden children with their swollen tummies, ugly shapes and bony structures because of hunger and starvation.
The then Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon attempted to explain that he tried everything to avoid the scenes that were being shown on the screen, that he did not want the war. The other person who could have answered him, unfortunately, that is Emeka Ojukwu, is dead. He said he tried everything to stop the war from breaking out but it’s only Ojukwu who could have answered whether he equally did his part in avoiding the war.
But something struck me: it was said that Gowon should be commended for initiating the three Rs: reconciliation, rehabilitation and reconstruction. And I asked a very simple question, that I came with a written text but I wasn’t going to read it. I thanked Silverbird for the award; and I said I did not want to criticise my leaders because I am also now a leader. But I asked to be allowed to ask a question: how come reconstruction started in the West when the war was actually fought in the East? They started the Third Mainland Bridge, the National Theatre, the international airport, and so on, in the West, while the war was fought in the eastern region. And if we really wanted to ensure total reconciliation, how come every account holder in the eastern region was given only £20? It did not matter whether your father had £10,000,000 or £50,000,000 before the war; you were given just £20. It was a take it or leave it situation. If your family survived and there was an account holder alive, he/she went to the bank, and collected just £20.
Could £20 pounds solve the Kwashiorkor that we were seeing? Could it reconstruct the houses that were burnt? Could it produce food? A lot of other things happened that I did not mention on that occasion. Don’t forget that it was shortly after the war in 1971 that the policy of indigenisation started, where most of the foreign industries and companies were sold to Nigerians, and the war-ravaged eastern regions, which include the entire South-South and the rest of them, could not buy, because no one who did not have money to even feed or clothe himself would have had money to buy any industry. So, I was just wondering, as a young man, if that was true reconciliation, because one would have thought that the government would have gone to any extent to give them more money so that they could truly rehabilitate themselves.
They needed money from reconstruction, and I would have thought that reconstruction would have also started from the East. I just asked because we were lucky to have the personal dramatis of the war right in still alive : General T. Y. Danjuma, General Yakubu Gowon, General Obasanjo, General Buhari and others. It is very rare to see these former heads of state in just one place, so I had to ask. I said also that it is important, even for the current-day leaders, that we continue to take actions that will unite Nigeria. And we should purge ourselves of actions that tend to cause pains to Nigerians. For me, I believe that because of certain policies of the federal government after the war, the war did not cease in the eastern region until about 30 years after the war. |

Dear christians, you're gradually replacing our lord's name (Christ) with the letter X why?
To be honest its very bad...we're christians, we carry the image of christ not X. So I see no reason why people should say I'm an Xtian or merry Xmas etc.
X if you're a mathematics student simply means unknown. So replacing christ name with X simply means that you have an unknown identity.
It means you no longer bear the image of christ, but an unknown image.
I know we all aren't perfect, and we are all subject to mistakes...but I pray that as God has opened our eyes to the truth, we would learn to call his son rightfully, and refrain from replacing his identity with an unknown letter.
May God bless us even as we keep to his word.
Happy sunday. OP you're absolutely correct. I think I was guilty of that. Thanks for the correction |
Nairaland General › Oeas Issues Demands To Nigerian Government On Biafra by ozimec(op): 12:24pm On Dec 05, 2015 |
OEAS ISSUES DEMANDS TO NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT ON BIAFRA Washington DC: Biafra is a charter member of the Organization of Emerging African States (OEAS), an international governmental organization that promotes self-determination and the end to colonial era boundaries in Africa. Today the people of Biafra are locked in an emerging struggle with the Nigeria federal government, the inevitable result of which will be self-determination for Biafra. Unfortunately the Nigerian government has resorted to summary execution and detention of Biafran patriots. The situation will surely escalate unless immediate action is taken. The OEAS calls for the Nigerian government to meet the three following demands: 1. Immediate release from jail of Biafra Zionist Movement, MASSOB, IPOB and Radio Biafra supporters including Benjamin Onwuka and Nnamdi Kanu. 2. All federal military and police FORCES to stand down and return to their barracks. Also read OPEN LETTER TO WORLD LEADERS ON ARREST OF NNAMDI KANU 3. A snap referendum on Biafran self-determination to be held within 90 days with OEAS, UNPO, and nonaligned observers supervising the balloting process. Failure to meet these demands will undoubtedly result in civil strife as nonviolent Biafran protestors pay with their blood for their chance at independence. Regardless of what measures the Nigerian federal government may take, the die is cast for independence and Biafrans will not be deterred. There is one chance for a peaceful referendum, a life line is being thrown to the Nigerian government which they ignore at their own peril. The Biafran people are patient but will not be indiscriminately murdered by the Nigerian government without resisting to the full extent of their human rights. 5.Hypocrisy is when you celebrate every bomb blast under the previous administration and expect those who know your antecedents not to X-ray your current Psuedo-Patriotism
6. Hypocrisy is when you describe then presidents visit to Chad as a trip to plan more attacks on civilians and your mentor suddenly visit Chad for the same reason and you suddenly see it as an act of good neighbourliness
7.Hypocrisy is when you describe the former regimes attempt at seeking regional help to fight insecurity as shameful only to seek same help 72hrs hours after taking office.

13.Hypocrisy is when you declare Amaechi, Fashola, Tinubu, and Kwankwaso innocent until proven guilty and declare Jonathan, Dezeani, and Akpabio guilty until Proven innocent.
14. Hypocrisy is when you condemn a man accused of stealing before he is tried and ask for empirical evidence when your party man is caught in the act.
15. Hypocrisy is when a media house goes in desperate search, sniffing for news of bomb blast as front page news during the previous administration only to for the same media outlet to place a blanket ban on reports involving Bombs because their "mugu" is in-charge
While not standing surety for anyone accused of corruption we must as a nation reject this hypocritical double standard by ensuring that anyone accused of fleecing the nation either directly or indirectly receive the same treatment irrespective of their political party or religious affiliation

Romance › Re: There Is Nothing Like "True Love" by ozimec(m): 9:40am On Oct 20, 2015 |
uncjay: Dear Nairalanders, this piece is my personal opinion, submission and conclusion as regard the topic. It's quite lengthy notwithstanding I want you to take your time and go through everything in order to effectively decode my point and bone of contention base on the subject matter. Knowledge, they say is open ended and not tentative, hence no one is a custodian of it. You can share your views and criticism, but please be concrete and discreet. There are two peculiar words at play here, in uses they are sometimes interchangeable but one is deeper and stronger than the other. Here we go.....
Love is actually a feeling that goes with human existence and emotions, it is sometime referred to as the greatest magic in the world because of it power of proficiency over man. It's good to love and be loved in return, but at times the reverse is the case. Often times we discovered that there are different varieties of love or rather, we see and observe love from different disposition and levels, as some consider it 'casual', some consider it 'genuine', some consider it 'TRUE', some consider it 'Agape', other varieties include; fatherly, motherly, brotherly, and sisterly love, these I call the 'LY' love. Whichever way we see it, it exist and function only where two or more persons co-exist and lived as a people in a specific society.
Despite all the attributes of love and it pertinent, I still struggle to come to term with how people refer to love as 'TRUE' and argue that there is nothing like 'TRUE LOVE'. After observing experiences and experiment carried out, I hereby conclude that there is no true love. The context of the phrase 'true love' is one thing I find yet to be justified in the world of man. Love can be genuine, casual or agape for that matter but there is nothing like true love. Love is a phenomenon that comes and go. It is not static and does not stand the test of time, where is the true in love.
A guy may love a girl genuinely from a sincere heart (and vice versa) and will be eager to do anything whatsoever to profess that love to her. At that point some will regard it as TRUE LOVE, without even considering the gravity of it. It is not true love but love in it genuineness, which of course can be reverse by circumstances or the coming of another love. That guy though loves the girl but after some time into the relationship the degree or percentage of the strength of the love reduces and continues until it becomes very low or non existent anymore, why is that? Such love cannot be term as true.
True is an everlasting phenomenon, no matter how long it is hidden, it will eventually come to manifestation someday and when it does, it indisputably stands and remain for life. Hence love cannot be regarded as true because it does not possess such quality. History will forever remember every scenario for its trueness. Though history or historical event sometimes can be twist or rewritten to suit or concur with the selfish desire of some people, or still in order to create either a negative or positive impressions, all aimed at either painting someone or people good or evil. That notwithstanding does not mean that there is no true story of the said history. Most African countries suffer this degradation from the bigoted whites.
Therefore, there is no true love, it only comes and go. Love does not remain forever, it changes as regard change in behaviours and circumstances around men. When someone loves, he/she cherish with all his/her heart, but at some point in time it becomes odd or rather not as effective as it were at the beginning, (a true love must maintain the degree and percentage base on which it started) this maybe due to the fact that someone else came that manage to stole the love a man has toward a woman and vice versa, or something unfortunate breach the love rendering it less effective or infidelity. Thus, as long as love got to do with emotion it should not be referred as true because anything can affect emotion as it may change.
Provided that, in a situation where someone love another probably from secondary school through tertiary institution and for one reason or the other they were no longer together, yet he/she professes his/her love toward that person as firm, in such cases it is only expedient to examine why they were not together in the first place, as it stand as the reason why such a love could be regard as rather genuine love that couldn't stand the test of time but certainly not true. Else they will rather be together, and breach will be found in the relationship.
That a couple lived and grew old together does not mean the love between them is true, it maybe genuine enough to sustain them all through their lifetime but it not necessarily true as there will be situation where the man or woman wish they had another person as partner or still may at one time or the other love and cherish another person even briefly, (I mean real love and not brotherly and sisterly love) yet they are still together as couple. At that point there is a breach making it less true but genuine to keep them together.
A true love must maintain a single strength from beginning to end. A true love must not change or shift affections toward another person (no matter how little). A true love must be eternal. So tell me where can we find such among men. As such people should put into cognisance the gravity and weight of the phrase "true love", before considering whether to term certain affections as true. Thanks.
C I agree with you. I think there are only two examples of true love. One is Gods love to mankind which is the greatest, and the second one is the parents love to their children which can stand a test of time. Every other love is based on circumstances. It can be induced and depends on several factors. My opinion though. |
Family › Re: My Husband Denies Me Sex And Affection...its Killing Me by ozimec(m): 9:07am On Oct 20, 2015 |
Hi55: Hello nairalanders, I just wish I'll get a shoulder or two to cry on tonight. Things are becoming unbearable for me and I don't know how far I can walk on these shoes. Here's my story...
I am 28 and married to a 35yr old youngman whom I love so dearly. We are blessed with 2 kids and most material things one can pray for. My marriage is 5yrs with just minor issues that do come up once in a VERY LONG while.
The problem is that my hubby does not show me affection and hardly approaches me for sex. I am a very neat, beautiful, Godfearing, educated and classy lady. Most times I am the one who initiates intimacy in our marriage. My heart breaks each time I read or hear of women who deny their husbands sex because its an opposite in my case. For more than two months now we've not been intimate. To make matters worse, he prefers to sleep in the sitting room or children's room than in our matrimonial room.
He always pretends to be tired but not too tired to be chatting on whatsapp with friends. I have his password, that is not an issue. I am not suspecting anything even though I'm not totally ruling out the possibility of adultery. He comes back very late in the night unlike before. Infact even when he comes early these days, he will rather stay with friends within the street or house than come inside. Believe me nairalanders, we don't have issues. Infact he keeps saying that God blessed him with a wonderful woman. It's not like I make the house uncomfortable for him. The only communication we have these days is greetings, asking how the day went or few general topics.
I am not a woman who can't do without sex but I just need to be shown affection even if sex is not there. Committing adultery on my own part is IMPOSSIBLE, i will rather opt for divorce. I am so confused, lonely and heartbroken. I love my husband beyond the word LOVE. I just wish he can see the tears in my eyes as I lay lonely on our bed each night. I am very fragile by nature and gets hurt easily. Believe me...this is killing me.
Please, people drop a word or two for a hurting soul. Take it to God in prayer first, then have a discussion with your husband let him know your feelings. I bet you he will change |

emusmith: 7 Areas A Girl Who Truly Love You Looks At
Maybe not in the pecking order but I strongly believe (taking a cue from stories of several successful and happy married women), these points are really 7 Areas A Lady Who Truly Sees You As A Prospective Hubby And Loves You Looks At.
1. Your Dreams and Goals
She will ask you severally for your dreams and goals: short term or long term before she begins to ask for other infinitesimal things. Your goal in life means more to her. Yes.
2. Your Role In Her Life And Career
Speaking of her asking you for your dreams and passions, she actually wants to know your role in her life. She wants to be sure you will be there for her as she will do vice versa.
3. Your Spiritual Leadership Or Control.
Trust me, if she loves you, she would ask from flats to grants cutting across your religion to your personal belief of "God". Ladies needs security, spiritual security inclusive.
4. Your Mental State
If she loves him, she would not turn a blind eye to his mental capacity. She will try to influence him for good. Love seeks change.
5. Your Past life
Love isn't stupidity. She loves so seeks to hear of your exes and past relationships. If she doesn't ask or bother to, hmm...
6. Your Financial worth and Target
Yes, this is crucial too. You both love each other and so it's her obligation to ask how much you take home monthly. That would help her plan and make her choices, wisely. Money is vital too.
7. Your Family This is very pivotal. She would want to see your family: siblings or even parents. If she has no interest in seeing them but just you alone, don't feel special, it's not a good sign. Selah.
The point of this thread is, if that Lady really loves, these Seven Points are the first she'll consider before thinking of other 'trivial' issues. What if she ask for ur ATM pin? Check out this site for extra income opportunity click here. http://PayRefe.com/?ref=131951 |

NgeneUkwenu: The Nigerian presidency has released a statement, denying an alleged plot to harass former Governor Bola Tinubu.
The Sun newspaper had reported Saturday that Mr. Tinubu was under watch over an alleged plot against President Muhammadu Buhari for purportedly ignoring his nominees for ministerial positions.
But a statement by Garba Shehu, the senior special assistant to the President on media and publicity, said the report was false and baseless.
OK.

The statement said, “The attention of the Presidency has been drawn to a false and sensational story by a leading newspaper to the effect that a pillar of the governing party, the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is “under security watch over alleged plot against Buhari.”
“Nigerians are hereby advised to ignore this story because it is false and baseless. We wish to confirm without any equivocation that the Asiwaju is not of any particular interest to any arm of the security services. The relationship between him and the President can not be better than it is at the moment.
“According to the perverted logic of the newspaper, the respected leader of the APC is into a plot against the leader of the country. The presidency is unaware of any such plots against the President.
“I got on the phone a short while ago with General Babagana Munguno, (Rtd), the National Security Adviser and the Director General of the SSS, Lawal Daura who both dismissed the published reports as acts of pure mischief. They are not aware of the Asiwaju being on any kind of watch.
[b]“It would appear that a competition is on between two or three newspaper establishments on how best to breach the excellent relationship between the pillars of our party and government. “So far, they have not made a headway and there is no indication that they will succeed in the future. It suffices to say that such reports, written without fairness and balance can only take away from whatever is left of the credibility of these newspapers. The general public is hereby advised to ignore them on these reports.”
