Splitmind: You are the cause!
Bloody ipob terrorists always lying, the most dangerous group in the whole Nigeria!
You people killed Saraduna and want to take over the whole Nigeria! Those ones finishing Northern people are also IPOB. You people should continue with your blame game and hatred for the Igbos. They have already seen something ahead, that's why they are fighting it. What I know is that South East and South South can never fall for their agenda. I'm just sorry for South West, because more heavy blows will be coming. |

VEHINTOLAR: You have no idea what you're yapping about ! Did Igbo not contest PDP presidential primary with Chief Obasanjo in 1999 ? As a matter of fact three prominent Igbo men contested the party flag with him. So,which "everyone decided to give it to Obasanjo for progress and unity of .the country"? Yes,elections in Nigeria did not start in Nigeria four years ago,we all know that and we know,as well, how Igbo people have always voted even to the detriment of southern unity and solidarity as Azikiwe did in 1959.
You therefore, have some choices before you : vote for Fulani candidate as you've always done since 1959 or you vote for your son and brother Mr Obi this time around. One thing that's certain is that you guys will definitely bear the consequences of your choice and it is one of the reasons why Igbo people are today of almost of no political value - 5%ers !
I have a video with me about the political atrocities of Mr Azikiwe which I've been trying to upload here but I suspect a Mod is actually frustrating that. Everyone, especially Southerners, need to see that video so that we all can see who was responsible for what and how we got to this level. Mr Azikiwe was a terrible person ! Please if you can't comprehend what I'm saying, I'm sorry I can't help you. If you have a video as proof of the attack, there are other platforms you can share them. And keep all your opinions about Azikiwe to yourself. |

Otherwise, what exactly is thier motive?

Tingotoe: Peter Obi cannot win the presidency next year. He's in a party that lacks structure and finance and also his popularity ends in his home region the south east. I wonder how his party is going to convince millions of the illiterate electorate up north to abandon Atiku and vote for him. I also want to see how he plans on getting the SW voters to jump on his bandwagon. Sorry but DOA 2023 maybe some other time sha You are wrong. I stay in Benue, Obi's name is all over the place. He is not known only in the South East. |

Didn't they support Tinubu and Atiku in the recent primaries? That is why many people say they are not united. Take this anywhere, among the three major ethnic groups, Igbos are the most detribalized. If you're judging them based on IPOB, then you're on a very long thing. Judge them based on how they relate with you. I've spent many years in the North. I know how the Muslims there behave toward the Christians. The last line above is my main point. |

Apart from that, the northern govs know a Christian may not be accepted widely by their people when Atiku is also contesting. That is why they wanted to endorse Lawan. tesppidd: Spot on.
My gut tells me that; of the 3 top contenders Tunubu, Amaechi and Osinbajo, they went with Tinubu because he is a Muslim.
They saw Tinubu as a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity to have their cake and eat it; cede power to the South and still have a Muslim as President.
The best option was still Osinbajo; with the support of Buhari, the South West and them Northern governors, PYO would defeat Atiku all day everyday. |

Same thing they did to Osinbajo, even as a serving VP. He been a Christian and a RCCG pastor meant he had Zero Chance in APC. You are right. No matter how we want to deny it, these northern people are religious bigots. That is why they will prefer aligning with the Yorubas, who are mixed, than the Igbos who are predominantly Christians. |

I agree with OP on that. The level of marginalization against Christians over there is alarming. You won't know if you've not been there.
I served in Biu, Southern Bornu, one of the coldest places in Nigeria. The Bura tribe there are predominantly Christians.
I also spent two years in Potiskum, Yobe state. The Christians there are always having issues with the Muslims due to the same marginalization.
These Christians are much. But the Muslims always intimidate them because of their Christian belief of no violence. |

9jahotblog: tell me which reasonable votes will he get in Nigeria that we do things with playing both tribal cards and religious cards in appointments positions not to talk of our voting pattern. Even in the south west region where Tinubu hailed from, millions of Yorubas will reject him. 2023 presidential election is highly predictable. Tinubu will be rejected. You will see the results fully. Yorubas will reject Tinubu? Are you sure you are in this country? Even PDP has given up on South West [url] https://leadership.ng/apc-targets-norths-bloc-votes-pdp-rules-out-south-west/[url] |

Those who believe in a candidate and vote for that candidate, did not waste their votes, even if he loses

9jahotblog: I was so pained when PO left Pdp without notifying anyone in the party. PO left cos’ of the bad advisers surrounding him. Labour Party has no structures in all the 36 states in Nigeria. If PO has been in Pdp, with Atiku emergence, he will have been vice presidential candidate for Atiku presidency. Now that he left , he’s now looking for sympathy votes from the public. Politics isn’t played that way. After he lost 2023 presidential election, you will see the bad advisers deserting him as usual. With Atiku Presidency in the Center, Igbo leaders and politicians will be represented in his government. How did you know he would have been vice presidential candidate when Wike was there? Even at that, what PO started today has given Nigerians the hope that they can change the status quo when they are presented with bad options. Even if he doesn't win, I'm sure he will score reasonable votes that people will take notice of. The benefits alone will be seen in Nigerian politics for years to come. That is the wider picture. |

Kenneth4u205: I'm Igbo from Anambra State ,but my fellow Igbo are being too emotional. We all know that south east vote alone can't make obi president. So why waste it ? . The deep truth is that any vote for Peter Obi is indirectly a vote for Tinubu. So you indirectly voting for Tinubu for each vote you cast for Peter Obi because all APC need is to split PDP vote in the south east I didn't vote in 2019 because I couldn't see myself voting for either an Atiku or a Buhari. Now that I've been given a third option, you want me to vote a Tinubu or an Atiku? I'll rather waste my vote on Peter Obi. In your personal view, it's better to vote the corrupt because the competent may not win? Na wa for this your view. In fact, six members of my family have already OBIfied with the voters' card ready. And I'm massively convincing others to join. |

Since Wike and Okowa cannot seem to agree, I think taking Okonjo Iweala is the best bet and game-changer. She will not just attract women, she will catch all upward thinking and Educated/elite with her. This will make the PDP more appealing. She seems to be the hen to lay the golden egg as far as this election is concerned. Wike has so much bad blood in spite of his qualities. I am just hearing of Okowa in a sense.
Make no mistake. LP, PDP, and APC are all humans and you can't say PDP, or APC etc are corrupt. By themselves, no party is corrupt. It's the people. So long as you have one good man while the rest are not, forget it. If the PDP can comprise a good team, they will do wonders. They have the experience, money, and people. The LP cannot boast of this. So you want Okonjo to leave the juicy post at the United Nations to come to a dubious party as the VP of a failed country? Na wa oo. |

Obi can score higher votes by being strategic with his VP selection.
Sanusi is a good choice, but he should be looking for a strong candidate from North central (Benue, Kogi, Nasarawa, Plateau, or Niger)
By the way, why not go for a credible female northerner as a VP? |
Politics › Re: An Open Letter To Peter Obi's Supporters. by pacesetting: 8:48am On Jun 10, 2022 |
I'm supporting Peter Obi not because I'm 100% confident he will win. Nigeria needs to change the narratives of elections in this country. That way, the leaders will begin to take the people serious.
Even if Obi comes third, but with millions of votes, it will be one of the greatest political statements the people have ever made.
It will set the tone for subsequent elections in the country and make people believe that their collective votes can make a difference.
But if he wins, it will even be a bigger achievement.
Regarding how he copes with the national assembly, it's one step at a time.
Let him cross the bridge first, then we will know from there. |
