Igbos are everywhere. Are they not in your area? Didn't they support Tinubu and Atiku in the recent primaries? That is why many people say they are not united.

Take this anywhere, among the three major ethnic groups, Igbos are the most detribalized. If you're judging them based on IPOB, then you're on a very long thing. Judge them based on how they relate with you.

I've spent many years in the North. I know how the Muslims there behave toward the Christians.

My gut tells me that; of the 3 top contenders Tunubu, Amaechi and Osinbajo,
they went with Tinubu because he is a Muslim.

They saw Tinubu as a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity to have their cake and eat it; cede power to the South and still have a Muslim as President.

The best option was still Osinbajo; with the support of Buhari, the South West and them Northern governors, PYO would defeat Atiku all day everyday.

I agree with OP on that. The level of marginalization against Christians over there is alarming. You won't know if you've not been there.

I served in Biu, Southern Bornu, one of the coldest places in Nigeria. The Bura tribe there are predominantly Christians.

I also spent two years in Potiskum, Yobe state. The Christians there are always having issues with the Muslims due to the same marginalization.

These Christians are much. But the Muslims always intimidate them because of their Christian belief of no violence.

I was so pained when PO left Pdp without notifying anyone in the party. PO left cos’ of the bad advisers surrounding him. Labour Party has no structures in all the 36 states in Nigeria. If PO has been in Pdp, with Atiku emergence, he will have been vice presidential candidate for Atiku presidency. Now that he left , he’s now looking for sympathy votes from the public. Politics isn’t played that way. After he lost 2023 presidential election, you will see the bad advisers deserting him as usual. With Atiku Presidency in the Center, Igbo leaders and politicians will be represented in his government.

How did you know he would have been vice presidential candidate when Wike was there?

Even at that, what PO started today has given Nigerians the hope that they can change the status quo when they are presented with bad options. Even if he doesn't win, I'm sure he will score reasonable votes that people will take notice of.

The benefits alone will be seen in Nigerian politics for years to come. That is the wider picture.

The deep truth is that any vote for Peter Obi is indirectly a vote for Tinubu. Since Wike and Okowa cannot seem to agree, I think taking Okonjo Iweala is the best bet and game-changer. She will not just attract women, she will catch all upward thinking and Educated/elite with her. This will make the PDP more appealing. She seems to be the hen to lay the golden egg as far as this election is concerned. Wike has so much bad blood in spite of his qualities. I am just hearing of Okowa in a sense.

Make no mistake. LP, PDP, and APC are all humans and you can't say PDP, or APC etc are corrupt. By themselves, no party is corrupt. It's the people. So long as you have one good man while the rest are not, forget it. If the PDP can comprise a good team, they will do wonders. They have the experience, money, and people. The LP cannot boast of this.

Like I said, it's better to get the presidency first before worrying about what comes afterward.

Obi can score higher votes by being strategic with his VP selection.

Sanusi is a good choice, but he should be looking for a strong candidate from North central (Benue, Kogi, Nasarawa, Plateau, or Niger)

By the way, why not go for a credible female northerner as a VP?

I'm supporting Peter Obi not because I'm 100% confident he will win. Nigeria needs to change the narratives of elections in this country. That way, the leaders will begin to take the people serious.

Even if Obi comes third, but with millions of votes, it will be one of the greatest political statements the people have ever made.

It will set the tone for subsequent elections in the country and make people believe that their collective votes can make a difference.

But if he wins, it will even be a bigger achievement.

Regarding how he copes with the national assembly, it's one step at a time.

Let him cross the bridge first, then we will know from there.

In 2019, Ibos gave Fulani Atiku about 2 million votes and gave Ibo man Moghalu about 8k votes.

I see the same thing playing out.

Not when PDP, APC, and NNPP will battle it out in the North, with LP earning some Christian and non indegene votes.
