Most Nigerians can't quite connect with her songs, especially the more intricate lyrics, as they don't align with our musical preferences in this part of the world.

I'm not questioning her talent one second. But judging a song based on lyrics is just exposing a plain ignorance. The nuance of a good music is ability to connect with your mind and uplift your spirit. Also ability to make you feel socially connected and given you that positive vibe. Her lyrics are not even as good as the likes of Shakira, Brandy, Rihanna and other ladies I mentioned earlier.

You are the only one who made a sensible comment in this place, that is one of the privileges that come from being a White woman. Her only solo song that I enjoy a bit is 'blank space', but still far from the quality of songs coming from the likes of Rihanna, Shakira, Beyoncé etc.

If there is one area that Whites or any other race shouldn't be competing with Blacks in terms of wealths, it's this music industry. Just imagine you have a country run by Yorùbá and other civilized tribes in Nigeria where people's rights are respected, people's votes are counted, and leaderships are accountable, the whole world will troop in to that country because Yoruba culture is already selling in outside world, only Nigeria is preventing them from coming to experience it firsthand here.

Historically, Yorùbá are known as diplomats, they prefer to resolve any dispute in a roundtable contrary to brinkmanship we are seeing with today's Nigerian government. Yoruba churns oppression and cherishes their culture, it is the reason why they were one of first tribes to stand up against Islamic dogmatism and colonization in Africa.

I can go on and on. A Yorùbá nation would have been one of the best run states in Africa, even the world.

Nobody wants to build their fortune in such a terrible hostile and repressive environment. Even keeping my money in Nigerian banks these days is a nightmare for me, I felt more comfortable when most of my money was in dollar and kept safe in e-wallet.

This election season in 2023 has just proven once again that the most dangerous societies in the world are not the ones ravaged by insecurities and all sorts of civil unrest but the societies whose political office holders cannot be held accountable. These people will go to any extent to protect their fellow criminals in public offices.
