The only winners in all this police and military brutality are the politicians. They allow police and army to do as pleased so as to ensure no one can revolt against them. This is the old trick used by the old corrupt politicians to rule this country. If the military and the police are being sanctioned for their brutalities, it means the citizens can stand up against their opression. Then, empowering the citizens means they can also revolt against the politicians when they are not delivering on their promises. It is not a coincidence that the atmosphere where there is a widespread corruption, there is also a rampant military and police misconduct.
So you see the logic why police and military brutalities are not going anywhere in Nigeria anytime soon. |

PastorGbewiri: Fayose is the most hopelessly opportunistic bastard anyone can meet on Nigeria's political landscape the guy is an animal....their generation needs to be wiped out en-masse for Nigeria to have any hope of progress Only when the people can create the atmosphere of fear for their leaders, that they can hold their leaders responsible for anything they did while in power, that Africa will start to enjoy the benefits of good governance. Capital punishment and Jerry Rawling treatment are a good start. The mind of an African man is not naturally created to put the interests of others first, but it can be trained as such. |

PastorGbewiri: This greedy tortoise will never stop vomitting trash
Nigeria can't move forward until brigands like Fayose and all other robber-politicians of his ilk are dead
God bless Flt. Lt. Jerry Rawlins for taking the bold step to put Ghana on that road to recovery, way ahead of Nigeria We really need another Jerry Rawling treatment for the current crops of politicians in Nigeria, but I know this can be done by someone totally new and courageous like the youth. One thing I know well about Africans or blacks in general is that they will never change unless something bigger than them struck them really hard. People can continue to put their hope in 2023 as if it is the year that one messiah is coming, but I can assure them that anybody we end up with as a president among our current crops of politicians is going to be business as usual. Some fools on this forum already saying Tinubu must not fall as if he is their father feeding them, they are even hinging the hope of a whole Yoruba on a man who spat on their face when innocent youth who want a better change for this country are being massacred in lekki for exercising their right in a peaceful protest. Africa is cursed with bad leaders in indeed, but a bigger curse is the slavish mentality of the people. |

Vaughanlanrewaj: Really? The fact on ground states otherwise. Particularly because of 2023, his investments were razed to the ground. Even Oriental Hotel was almost burnt on the lie thst it belongs to Asiwaju Tinubu.
Even IPOB leader was clear in stating that Tinubu's property be burnt and it got burnt. Sahara reporters even created a fake manifest on Tinubu's son http://saharareporters.com/2020/10/22/exclusive-seyi-son-ex-lagos-governor-bola-tinubu-jet-out-london-family-angry-nigerians and one Onyedika122 moniker , more likely an IPOB member here on Nairaland posted another lie https://www.nairaland.com/6196221/live-tinubu-been-chased-away
Some even went as far as circulating videos saying he was running out of Nigeria and his son Seyi flee Nigeria. It all later turned out a lie. So who are those behind all these attacks against him? So tinubu that justified the lekkimassacre is now your hero right. I don't even know whether those people that pretend to be Yoruba on this forum are Yoruba's or gambari |
Car Talk › Re: FG To Slash Levy On Imported Cars To 5% From 35% by pacespot(m): 2:54pm On Nov 22, 2020 |
Rugaria: It's not just for haulage, both cars.. What I'm trying to say is the likes of innoson's target consumers will not change their car taste because of this tarrit cut. This will be mainly helpful to the lower end consumers to afford imported second-hand cars to conduct their businesses. The big businesses will also benefit from tarrif cut on articulated heads, lorries, trucks, etc in doing their haulage services. |

Rugaria: This policy will be popular with the people because everyone wants to buy new cars, but in the long run, it will prove damaging to the economy.. They say those vehicles whose tarrifs will be slashed are for haulage, how is that damaging to the country? Those buying fancy cars can still continue to patronise innoson and the likes. Nothing can be more damaging than the current economic situation we are in. And mind you, Nigerians are not Europeans that tarrifs will affect their business so much, they will also find a way to circumvent it. |

OneTemplate: Abi. Igbos are simply irredeemable. I have always said no nation can make progress hosting enemies-within and saboteurs with persecution complex most Igbos are.
This is purely a logical economic decision any pragmatic Nigerian businessman, needing to transport goods across Nigeria, would understand, support and laud.
Haulage cost actually even does a huge disservice to food transport and, ultimately, food security across Nigeria.
This is because of the huge duties levied on the importation of commercial vehicles, lorries, vans and articulated heads that discourages many investing in this sector thereby leaving it uncompetitive and very costly for end users.
Trust Igbos to always make everything about themselves because of an overblown sense of their own participation and worth to the Nigerian economy. I'm tired of these people o, why must everything be about them? Innoson is just a one man business trying to make money of his own, who does not even control one percent of car market in the country? How is he a problem of the Federal government? |

Rugaria: I don't like made in Nigeria rice. Lots of stones. So why am I being forced to eat that with the closure of the borders? How can you support the ban on imported rice, a staple food eaten by Nigerians daily but become happy with the liberalisation of car imports? What changed!? Impport bans on rice makes an essential, very costly, while reduced charges on car imports, makes a not so essential product cheaper... The problem with you guys is that you all start off by projecting your rabid tribalism on others. The only good thing in this policy is that Abuja politicians will have more money to spend. Otherwise any critical mind will know that this policy automatically makes Nigeria the dumping ground of used cars in the world. You are going to buys cars. Many cars. But it's still tokumbos used elsewhere. Capital flight with streets and highway littered with broken down caterpillars and lorries. Why bother explaining to you guys? You will always see it from your normal tortured lenses.. Abeg let them bring and dump the tokunbo cars on us in Nigeria, it will help many businesses that are struggling with high costs of transportation. This will drive business and commercial activities in the country. A car owner will always find a way to survive no matter how harsh the economic situation in the country is. |
Car Talk › Re: FG To Slash Levy On Imported Cars To 5% From 35% by pacespot(m): 12:57pm On Nov 22, 2020 |
ethicallyright: The over hyped car assembler, loan defaulter and tax fraud disguising as an automobile manufacturer needs to begin an overhaul in his moving coffins packaging company.
He may begin by employing a brain filled cone head individual and intelligent innovator like myself to champion electric cars production which is clearly the future. He should also stop dashing Big Brother Naija's women of easy virtue vehicles they keep as furniture at home and instead drive the Mercedes their "fans " gift them and invest more in Corporate Social Responsibilities like sponsoring brilliant minds to Universities in Europe , China and North America to aid technology transfer that will help his firm grow.
Jokes aside, local automobile manufacturers should target individuals with low income who would most likely purchase vehicles for full time or part time transportation business to increase their income. In a country where people laugh at you for using a brand new current Infinix instead of a second hand iPhone 6 in 2020, it is funny to think that middle income or high income earners would buy a locally produced car for the price they can get a decent Toyota, Mercedes or Lexus.
Produce more fine tricycles , mini buses and partner with hire purchase companies to sell and distribute them to your target consumers who do not drive vehicles for clout. There is a huge potential here. Lagos State and every other State yet to ban commercial motorcycles completely have waiting consumers for such vehicles. The problem is innoson is aiming for the high taste consumer brand which is not good for him as a startup. He needs to build his business from the bottom up not the other way round. He needs to produce affordable vehicles for middle and low income consumers, then once he gains the control of the market, he can start incorporating those high priced machines. The fact is he does not have brand yet in Nigeria. How many of Nigerian car consumers can compare innoson with other brands they are used to when making their purchasing decision? |

valentineuwakwe: will this visit and taking care of the family bring the dead man back to life?
I suggest two things in our constitution;
a policeman who kill or murder an innocent citizen after thourogh investigation shall also be murder, even if you say na mistake or trigger happy man on duty!
any citizen being it normal or armed robbers, pick pocket or kidnappers etc who kill a police officer in anyway shall be put to death...no law court shall over rules these decisions!
when these is done, then things will be normal in the country again! I really don't see the sense in the policeman who killed someone in cold blood will be allowed to go scot-free, Nigeria is trying to copy the policing culture of USA by making their officers untouchable, they don't know that policing there is an instrument of subjugation against the minority mostly African-Americans. A policeman is also a human too, so he can have a personal beef with someone that he killed, so why soft-pedaling on officers when it comes to the application of the rule of law. |
