Mikelarteta: This is really getting out of hand. If the president was proactive enough, it wouldn’t have gotten to this extent. The Endsars whatever has been hijacked by Hoodlums clearly. Do not underestimate the power of mob. Soldiers believe in shooting, what happens when you shoot he no enter? Na to jakpa. Pls let this thing stop too much guns in the hands of the people na we go still suffer am at the end.
At bolded, you mean like Africa bullet proof, Selina
tesppidd: When the looting starts, the shooting starts. --
Donald J Trump.
What is Buhari waiting for?
At this point it should be shoot at sight.
They should rather go and shoot your brothers in the north east aka sambisa forest, who are terrorising the country, bastard almajiri son. You want to send military to kill the South youths after you sent SARS and they resisted. Now we know who the enemies of progress in this country are, continue wallowing in your abject poverty in the north and worshipping your leaders who enslave you. And stop meddling in the South West affairs.
okpalaAnambra: The police has committed so many crimes against the south... In the north they don't even stop cars let's alone of motorcycles but in the south they keep impounding people's byke for no reason at all..
No one is sponsoring this,, this is simply accumulated anger, simple
Exactly that is my thought about policing in Nigeria, why is it that an hausa driver will easily pass their checkpoint without giving a penny or, if at all, he will just give them N100 and they will salute him and let him go. But when it is a Yoruba or Igbo driver, the police will demand every last penny he has made that day or even kill him if he tries to argue with them.
Is policing a form of tax collecting agents for the government against the South, so as to pay their IGP and other top ranking northern politicians? Because I wonder why the youths in the north are never exploited by the police or SARS like they are doing in the South? And the reason for their silence in this EndSARS movement, they are not even happy that the international bodies are lending their voices to this movement.
These Lagos guys don sign up, den go dey hear gun shots like this, den go still dey flock to the scene without a bullet proof vest and helmet as if they have extra life in the cupboard.
madridguy: Well said Mr Yekini Nabena. Meanwhile, If you have names of people who died and their pictures, forward them and let see because
WHAT WE CAN COMFIRM
Steve ABBEY did not die. His picture was circulated yesterday on twitter. He debunked the story himself. He is fine.
Eniola Badmus was allegedly shot in the stomach yesterday. The news is untrue, Eniola was not shot and is very fine.
Onyiye Francis has made clarification on a post by Yemi Alade about a man carrying a dead lady wrapped in Nigerian flag. She said that it was a movie they acted themed, "Heal our land, OH LORD!
Iraoya Godwin said he didn't die and there was a mix-up
Comrade Anthony Okechukwu did not die at the protest ground. He was not shot by the soldiers. He died in a motorcycle accident.
What we can substantiate is a news report from Punch. Lagos State Government, Babajide Sanwo-Olu visited the victims who were injured. You can check here:
You can insult me till I expose fake news against you.
ALL THESE GONE IN LAGOS STATE.

Still counting....
Several heritage buildings and private properties burnt down and you still believe this is about protest or fall out from Army's shooting... Someone or people somewhere have declared war on Lagos State and by extension on Nigeria.
Many innocent people died on this protest oga, go and watch the footages on Twitter, or you purposely chose to ignore them for your political gain. There were mass burials everywhere in Lagos yesterday. Youths lying on the streets like logs of wood, did you think they were sleeping? It was a complete carnage, at least over one hundred youths were confirmed dead on the streets of Lagos apart from the lekki toll plaza massacre.
What is wrong with the president? Properties and lives are been lost and yet nobody is been held to account. Is the country now a Somalia or Afghanistan where there was no law?
Or is it because the things that are happening is not in the north hence his deliberate behaviour to ignore the South? What is all this rubish? They are killing law enforcement agencies and no any reaction from government but if the police retaliated now, you will see a massive video online crying extrajudicial killings. Are the police not humans? Don't they have families?
Now my advice to the police is to start fighting back. Don't look while these hooligans kill and Miam you. Return fire for fire
Go and repeat this your statement to over one hundred youths killed by police in Lagos yesterday. There were mass burials everywhere in Lagos, I don't know why your view of event is one-sided. The people that were killed at lekki toll plaza were a child play to the people who died on the streets of Lagos in the hands of police. It was a complete carnage. There was a footage of a guy I watched who was already bleeding to dead, police got there and shot him more. Police raided the hospital where injured protestors are being treated and opened fire, the doctors and nurses had to jump fence and ran for their lives. I don't know where you were when the multiple footages of bodies lying on the streets of Lagos were being share on Twitter, did you think those guys were sleeping?
Until the youth started taking up arms against police before you know the true extent of police brutality.
ibuildstuff: U don't need to wonder, most of them are foolishly supporting the govt, why few sensible one's are against the govt.
I actually think that is the case, I just want the youths to exercise cautions in burning down the properties in the South. I think this president is happy to see the South being burned down just like the Boko Haram infested north East. That is why he sent the military to the peaceful protesters to escalate the situation. This protest has exposed the poor leadership quality of the so called jagaban Tinubu.
Xchristain: For those asking why soilders are deployed to protest grounds, well here's your answer.
The police just can't handle these violent protesters who use this opportunity to perpetuate criminal acts.
If soilders appear and start target practicing, we'll call it a massacre abi?
Go to Twitter and watch how police are killing people, there was this footage of a guy who was already bleeding to death from shooting, some policemen got there and shot him more. They now carry the corpses of their dead victims so that people won't know how many they have killed. They raided hospital where people are being treated for gun shots, the nurses and doctors had to climb fence to run for their lives.
It is time Nigerian youths started arming themselves. Current youths will win the war against army because they are fighting for justice while army are fighting for the greed of politicians.
olumide4christ: Oga, let.me say it again categorically that protests will not solve this problem. If it could, Donald Trump whom many of you support would have listened to the Black Lives Matter protesters, identify with them, denounce white supremacists and instruct the Senate and Reps to make laws that will resolve racial discrimination once and for all. On the contrary, even after 4 months of protests, Donald Trump has ignored them and even called them bad people for looting and rioting. Perhaps you remember the phrase.."when the looting starts, the shooting starts" credited to Donald Trump.
The Hong Kong protesters have been protesting for over 1 year now but the Chinese-controlled government has not given in to their demands.
These are the so-called saner climes that many Nigerians love to refer to when comparing the decadence of the country with the outside world.
In the USA, what are the blacks doing about it? They have started voting massively for a government that they think would be helpful to their cause.
That's the only way to go Brother...get your PVC. Mobilize your people to adopt a new party besides PDP and APC and vote massively for people with genuine intentions into the House of Assembly... that's where you should Start from... that's where the laws are made.. that's where a president can be impeached if he doesn't keep to his promises. Reject the money bag poiticians with their money on election day and see if you will not make a change.
There's no forceful takeover of any government that has yielded anything good going forward. Ask them in Libya, Somalia, Afghanistan, etc. Taking up arms I can assure you may only lead to the military coming back to take power, thereby setting the country back by 21 years. I don't know if that's what you want, but for me, that's never a good idea.
Another major problem about your suggestion is that even the youths are not united...thus, even if you take over power, I see another Libya arising where only the state capital is under control of a central government whereas all other areas of the vast country are in the hands of various warlords, who arose because they didn't want to be under the control or leadership of another contemporary.
These are facts...the earlier we accept them, the better for all of us and the country!
The protests in USA and Hong Kong are totally different from the protest in Nigeria. I will tell you why, Nigeria protest is that of the group (the youth), majority of whom constitute the population of the country, wanting a change in the system. America protest is a minority group (blacks are just 14% of the population in USA) wanting to fight centuries of institutionalized racism in the country. Don't forget that white people have not seen blacks as their equals yet based on the poor level of development in Africa. Even the white people that are not racist have shown supports for white supremacy by voting for Trump. Black people are widely discriminated against everywhere in the world, so the white supremacists can use that card against African Americans. China is a communist one-party state right from time, even though the Chinese people will want to give lesser control to their autocratic government at the moment, they will not give in to the demands of Hong Kong protesters because they see the protest as a ploy by China foes: USA, UK and the rest of Western worlds; to destabilize the country.
Back to the main point, Nigerian youths can win this battle against the cabals if they are just united. In no time before the northern youths see the truth in this movement and also turn against their corrupt leaders. No country can stand the wrath of its youth population if they can just speak in one voice. Youths are over 80% of the population of this country, the youths in military are also tired of the current Nigerian system. Just wait and see, it will be like a short dream to you.
fk001: Does he think resigning is like singing with a froggy voice?
Buhari is going nowhere More than 15 million youth voted him and we are still loyal to him.
Okay, if you're still loyal to your buhari and ready to die for him, now tell him to redirect all the police and soldiers, that are killing people in the South rather than protecting them, to the North. I think you people need all the soldiers and police you can get in the North, because you are the one facing Boko Haram and rampaging herdsmen.
olumide4christ: Who aids the vote buying and the manipulation? Is it not the same youths as voters, thugs, party agents, INEC staff? Will Buhari, Tinubu, Wike, Atiku and co be the one to be giving out money for votes on election day, thumbprinting ballot papers, snatching ballot boxes, manipulating result sheets?
Capital No! It's the same masses. Thus, when we are ready to vote the right people in and in the same vein not accept monetary inducements, then we will vote the right people in. Till then, we are just wasting time, both with these protests and all online rantings!
You don't get my argument, do you? You cannot fix Nigerian problems through elections. With the current political system, even if all the major political parties chose youths as their flag bearers, those that would be elected are those that are loyal to the powers that be, or the cabals' sons and daughters. These street protests are necessary to bring about real reforms to Nigerian system, because this would help restructure the system and produce brand new crops of leaders. The youths just need to stick to their plans and always come out to protest enmass, not in few groups, and they will win as they are already winning.
Don't be surprised that the current youths will start bearing arms to the protest as the security operatives continue facing them with firearms. It is just a matter of time before someone stepped in in this direction if the youths are resilient in their protests. By then, the despotic leaders will have no choice but to give in to their demands.
Litmus: What will you replace the old men with and why should those that voted for them accept who you replaced them with?
You can't use Nigerian politics to determine the choice of leadership in this country, tell me how many young people are in the ballots, and what about vote buying or even manipulation? Our current political framework does not give much room for outside contenders, so it needs serious reforms?
This is how an insurrection begins against a country, if someone should supply Nigerian youths with some cache of weapons at this moment, tell me why they will not fight.
I've known this truth long time ago that older generations are the problems of Nigeria and other African countries. Young Africans are very creative, that is why they excel whenever they travel out of this continent. Imagine you bring their creativities into governance, this continent will become a paradise.
Few evil old men holding Nigeria into ransom. Killing of young protesters shows that these people are not interested in the progress of this country, Nigerian youth can now know their enemies clearly.
Jack Dorsey should just deactivate this adamu Twitter account to save Nigerian public from his clownishness.
These people always act as if they know about the law and respect the law when dealing with an international body, but the case is different when dealing Nigerians with their brutality and oppression of Nigerian masses
If it were the other way round, I bet the president would have sent his boys in uniform and called the protest no longer peaceful. Who will repay these protesters with all these damages, I really feel the pain of what these protesters are sacrificing for the rest of Nigerians.
North is the major concern of the government as regards to the protesters, because they can easily go rampage in a second. Let us see if they will send their military to the north too.
