jumper524:You don't hear people saying SARS has returned to some parts of the streets in Abuja? Is it until SARS come to burgle you out of your house again before you know what is happening in this country. This government thinks our anger will die down and they will slowly be returning SARS to the streets. |
Look at these kids ![]() |
The one we are talking about today regarding SARS, is it not impunity that led them to the torturing, extortion and killing of innocent citizens? These people can do PR for their international engagement but everyone can see them for naked rot. |
Lovelies1:The funny jokers on this thread don't know that without those youth they call children on social media, this country would have been subjected to a Sharia law by now. There is nothing that Nigerian government fear more than the rabid Nigerian social media users scrutinizing their every policy and posting visual evidence for the entire world to see. There is a massacre going on in Rivers State right now and no single Nigerian media house is reporting it, thanks to these same "children" Nigerian youth on social media, the entire world is able to see the genocide going on in the oyigbo and obigbo communities right now and they are calling it to end or else the responsible authority will face the consequence. One thing I've come to realize about Nigerians in that, the most educated are not often the most sensible in the country, you can meet someone on the street that will give you a very laudable answer to a very germane issue affecting the country while the so called educated elites will just be babbling and rambling on TV. |
Dantedasz:It doesn't take much to record a scene with your smartphone device these days Mr man. If you are directly affected by that event you mentioned above you will definitely find a way to get a copy of it for all to see and don't tell me police will shoot you on sight immediately you stopped your car or pulled out your smartphone while slowly driving. "It is not my business" mentality like yours is one of the key issues Nigerians are facing today. When it is now your business, you might not get someone to report it or back you up. |
RIP |
Dantedasz:Abeg, you will do better by taking pictures of such SARS operatives and post them online for all to see that the fight is still raging on. |
Rugaria:Don't mind that senseless guy, it is just a shame that there is no way to pick out such myopic minds and put them where they belong when we go out protesting. He is probably enjoying good electricity which he used to charge his phone before coming online but did not know those who paid the price for that. He did not know the movement like EndSARS is what is keeping politicians on their toes to deliver good governance and Sowore is an icon in such movement. Well, I think people come on nairaland to say something to garner them "likes" rather than what is sensible, you can do better by avoiding such senseless people. |
tollyboy5:These people don't know that EndSARS has become a symbol of fight against opressive government. Even I will not be surprised if some people in other countries are using the hashtag to push forward their social cause. SARS came because of bad government, SARS left but bad government persists, so if we don't use the SARS rhetoric to push forward in the fight against bad government, it is just a matter of time before another SARS-like evil rose up against the people. |
anochuko01:I believe they have gotten the message, this is a clear message to Nigerian government that their military is as good as non-existent and they don't care about their citizens, so America cares about her citizens by sending the rescue herself. |

bobbybrown007:Nigerian military are like boys scout compared to American. |
We will just say all this seemingly laudable policy and nothing will happen in the end. Since Nigeria has been yapping about restructuring, a child that was born then would have finished university now. Nobody wants to make the sacrifice. But I think only the northerners don't want restructuring right now, these people just behaving as if other people don't matter in this country because they have the military on their side. Please I have been trying to ask this germane question for a while, how many people are in Nigerian military based on tribe, that is, what is the percentage of Yoruba, Igbo, hausa or fulani in Nigerian military? We should be wary of these northerners with their politics in Nigerian military o, they just recently killed one Yoruba lady (name forgotten) who was the first female fighter jet pilot in Nigeria? |
DenreleDave:Kwara is a Yoruba land same as Kogi, forget about geopolitical zoning. |
mbaise1000:But I ask, is wike an Igbo man? He heard he is a nkwere man, how is nkwere different from Igbo? |
Why is it that in serious national issues like this buhari barely speaks up, but he will later come forward to address people in a pre-recorded speech after serious appeals and the issue already boiling out of control. I don't want to believe the insinuation that the person in aso villa is not buhari but many accusing fingers seem to point in the right direction. At least the president should have told us by now the reason why he has been unable to restructure and if it is national assembly causing the delay, and not having Femi Adesina speaking on his behalf because this is a serious national issue. |
Seniorwriter:Go and tell someone in the north east where the value of gun is equivalent to human life that my suggestion will increase the problem. If the government is unable to track people with available data they have already, it is not because of existing database but poor technological infrastructure to implement that. Go and commit any serious crime and see whether government cannot trace your whereabouts. How many fugitives do we have roaming in the country freely? |
Seniorwriter:Yes, people who will be given such gun licence will have a traceable data like bvn or international passport or drivers licence or national ID. So you think government doesn't have your data already, through sim registration and voters registration, they collect very valuable data. I cannot count the number of times that someone will just call me during elections to campaign for a particular politician, where did they get my number and name from? |
Seniorwriter:Yes, people will be given such gun licence will have a traceable data like bvn or social security number or national ID |
Seniorwriter:This will not also solve the problem. To put a final stamp on the EndSARS campaign, I think we need to legalize guns in Nigeria like USA did. People with a job that requires them to move around more often or that live in remote places should be given a license to carry some types of gun for protection, this can be a revolver or pump action riffle. This will enable them to protect themselves against bandits because they are the people most vulnerable to such attacks. Police or military will think twice before they harrass you on the road if they know that you have a backup to defend yourself with. |
Now you people can get a sense of what it feels like to have someone coming after your life like SARS did to Nigerian youth. Despite the fact that you have guns to protect yourself, you are this scared, now imagine the youth without any weapon in their hands and being constantly harrassed by SARS. The current atmosphere in the country has given people a sense that police is not your friend and you people are scared of the repercussion from that sentiment. The same way the SARS operatives gave a sense that every Nigerian youth is a Yahoo boy and the youth were scared of being victims of such criminal profiling when they see SARS. |
What do these leaders gain from unwarranted use of force against civilians, does it mean that Nigeria is a colony not a country? When Leaders are too quick to surpress any dissenting voice like Nigerian, it shows they know how much damage they have caused the people and they are afraid of any retaliation from them |

I have wondered before now what is the usefulness of female soldiers, because if they are not useful in restoring peace with armless civilians, is it when they are dealing with Boko Haram that they will be useful? |
Joshmodest:Go get a Xiaomi phone to cool your temper oga ![]() |
Nothing must happen to this woman o, or else nobody will dare speak up against this opressive regime again. What is wrong with these northerners, she is a Muslim for heaven's sake, does that mean that people are forbidden to speak the truth as a Muslim? Imagine you go to a place of "worshipping" and you lay curses on an innocent woman because she is against your political view. |
Joshmodest:I don't know you either ![]() |
Is there any other thing in the minds of average Nigerian women than sex and money? |
Joshmodest:You mean that includes me, I'm typing this with my Xiaomi Mi 9 right now, start doing your counting again? |
I think Samsung is the biggest winner in the Donald Trump's continued tussle with the Chinese company Huawei, they suck up all the market grounds lost by the company due to the restrictions in doing business with USA firms. For instance, if users are not allowed to use Google Play store on their Huawei phone, they will simply change to Samsung or Xiaomi instead Apple's app store. |
I knew it would get to this very soon coz I'm typing this with my Xiaomi Mi 9 which has a badass processor Snapdragon 730. If you are a Xiaomi user, join this queue. Apple, that company will continue to fall off the pecking order in the smartphone market unless it can address its inflated price tag for tech gadgets. More smartphone makers are producing very powerful products these days to make the market even more competitive for apple. |
The solution to Nigeria problem is not disintegration, all Nigerian leaders are bad, whether it is hausa/fulani, Igbo or Yoruba, they are all after our common wealth, if we divide this country, the same corruption will continue at the individual ethnic group, by that time each ethnic nationality will be weaker as a nation. We need to leverage on our diversity for a more prosperous and sophisticated economy, not it dividing us. We might need to sit on a round table to address this, so the need for a referendum at this moment. The only problem I see in Nigeria as a country is the religion extremists up North who might try to islamize the country some day in future, Muslims are like that everywhere in the world, they don't live side by side with other faiths peacefully. Unless we can create a stronger national identity fabric that supercedes any religious sentiments, for instance Americans will talk about their country first before any religion, then islamic extremism will continue to threaten the progress and existence of this country. |
