IjebuWarrior:Lol, the fact that they declared how much was donated shows that these people are up to something real |
Thanks to these international media for lending credence to this movement. Next, #EndCorruption |
While I agree in part with some people calling for the protest to end, it must be noted that the protest of this magnitude takes some time to die down completely. Why did it take people taking to the streets before the government listen to their voices to end police brutality, AKA SARS? This agitation has been going on for years with countless lives lost. It took some years of frustration and suffering for the people to lay bare their discontentment to the magnitude of this protest, so you don't just expect them to end everything by the tick of a clock or just as if you are pressing a "Pause" button on a playing video. Since it takes some time to mobilize protest of this magnitude, it will take some time to end it completely. I will suggest government to give people about a week or two to completely calm down their frayed tensions and the state governors should also play their parts in calling their people to order. While we are awaiting how they want to implement their police reforms in the coming days |

This guy seems to be people oriented. Those saying N1 million isn't enough, are you asking him to buy the souls of those dead protesters from their families? This is just a condolence gift to their families, Nigerians should learn to be contented when someone is showing magnanimity ![]() |
But must Nigerian police copy names from external bodies, they copied the name SARS from "Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome" which was a respiratory disease that affected people in China in early 2000. Now they've copied the name of the new police unit from the USA SWAT team? Can't these people be creative for once. |
Dem don turn this protest thing into a live show o. Nigerians ![]() |
I see that first picture on Twitter, I dey think say who be this one man or one woman mopol . Whoever took her picture with that pose tried a lot ![]() We only need 1000 of this kind woman in Nigeria, feminists can get lost. |
Everybody kon dey take police dey shine, as if he didn't know all this was going on all this while. All for Gram! |
You should never underrate the power of social media and other information carriers in the hands of public these days. Kudos to Nigerian youths for the united front they put together on this one, even though some demented few in the North tried to wane down on the momentum of the campaign with the use of hashtag #ProSARS. And of blessed memories to those who lost their lives in the process. We should stand still and wait out how the new anti-robbery unit is incorporated into the system. And finally, kudos to the IG for listening to the people quickly and for not allowing the protest to decend into further bloodshed before they react. |

Political thuggish business pays more than being a PhD holder in Nigeria |
Is that the best way to send a signal to your president? The best way is to leverage the influence of the international community to join the protest as some Nigerians in diaspora are currently doing. |
When you are not hearing noises about the ongoing elections on the front page, you know that PDP is losing. Akeredolu, 4 more years! |
They said #EndPoliceBrutality instead of #EndSARS. Trying to decode the meaning behind their hashtag. Anybody could have said that, even the president himself could have tweeted "end police brutality" |
Police brutality is something those African-Americans can identify with very well. Why must something get to a boiling point before Nigerian Governments react to it? |
This practically happens in every election in Ondo state. Can't they find a better route to convey elections materials in those riverine areas? |
A white man just duped me online, though this time not of money, but of potential money deal. He asked me to write him content which I did but failed to deliver his promises. Criminals are everywhere, notwithstanding any race, they are just more prevalent with a particular group than others. |
What SARS are doing on the streets everytime still amazes me. I thought they are like emergency police unit who are called out of their station during robbery or crime incident? Always deploying them on the streets is like saying all Nigerians are robbers who are always robbing people. Knowing Nigerians for who they are that they often abuse their privileges, so those SARS operatives take advantage of the privileges to start doing what they are meant to stop people from doing: ROBBERY |

They have Boko Haram in the north, and we have SARS in the South, isn't that what the president is trying to tell us? |
I agree with kemi that racism lives, but does being a dual citizen make someone ineligible for such position? We will see if kemi's prediction will turn out to be true as usual. Because I already thought the madam okonjo's resume is more credible for the position than the South Korean who should be vying for a position at ICC instead, because she is a lawyer. Finally, I don't know why some people resort to abusing kemi's tribe, Yoruba. Does her tweet show support for okonjo or negate her chances of winning the position? She is only showing concern okonjo may not win because she is a black woman. These people at the Eastern part of the country, everything between them and Yoruba must result into a tribal strife. |
pozehnani:It is you that lack comprehension, Miss blockhead. They did what they did for money because they have none, were they the only parents without money out there, or are they the poorest parents on Earth? Stop pretending as if you can defend this evil act, because the more you do so the more I can see you are no better than those evil mothers, and you would do the same if you were in their shoes. Typical Nigerian woman who resorts into abuse without a coherent thought. |
pozehnani:If I go by your narrative, all the poor parents should be selling their kids to raise cash, right? Would you do that if you were a single mother and poor? |
pozehnani:This is evil, not poverty. Let's call a spade a spade. This woman could have maltreated her children even though she was rich. Nigerians always trying to masquerade evil act with one sympathetic adjective. When they steal, they will say it is because they are hungry. When they commit act of corruption as a civil servant, they will say it is because they are not well paid. When they cheat on their spouse, they will say it is because he/she is maltreating them. Always finding one excuse to cover up their evils. |
I see okonjo iweala winning this one, if she won't win it, she wouldn't have made it this far. Her resume is more credible for the job. Imagine, Nigerian minister of finance and managing director of world bank. But why are they referring to her as Nigerian-American. Isn't she a full blooded Nigerian born in Nigeria? |
tunjilee003:Stop deceiving yourself, I watched one footage recently on Twitter of SARS operatives arresting two guys that were just passing by on okada in ilorin, kwara state after they initially arrested a guy whose girlfriend was clamouring for his release. SARS are everywhere, just that their activities are more pronounced and there is more media coverage in the South. If it is not yet happening to you, don't say it is not happening to others. |
They will not put their energy and law behind fighting the terror groups that are killing and beheading people in that region, but to ban use of smartphone (which is regular source of income for some) and dress code instead. |
I don't know why this guy is not behind bar yet ![]() |
Good. I guess she is hardly known outside. There are two worlds we are living in today: the online world and outside. You can be popular online but not much off it. |
mamaafrik:So Marley is a bigger star than Rudeboy? Nigeria go burn? Stop this exaggeration already. Everybody is expected to join this protest, no one's contribution is less valuable, let's not turn this into a gang protest. The pioneers of this protest are the real heroes I'm seeing here, it doesn't matter whether they have a voice or not. They are the ones already sleeping outside to keep this momentum going. |
This show is more like pageantry to me, are there no men in the house. Why are all the winners women? |
