kosovo:I also pray He recovers, but I pray even more that he never returns as president of this country. First for the good of the country, then for his own good. Sometimes I sympathise with him, but anytime I remember the kind of people he surrounded himself with, I shudder and ask, What kind of man would have a wife and friends so evil that they would stop at nothing to use your ill health to play power games evn when it brings you no benefit! When he gets well he can go and rule his village in Katsina. For crying out loud, Daily sun should please relocate their printing press to IBB's Minna mansion! |
Beaf:Don't mind them jare!! A bunch of shameless losers!! |
DAILY SUN is Nigeria's most useless paper for reporting this kind of rubbish!! First and foremost, the article is an annoying repeat of all the failed attempts the Yar Adua cabal keeps using to maintain any form of relevance. Secondly, even if Yar Adua comes back and and is strong enough to knock out Mike Tyson in a boxing duel, he will never ever ever ever ever ever ever be accepted as Nigeria's president ever again. Yar Adua is History. And the Cabal should get that in their brains and spare Nigerians all these theatricals. |
Yar’Adua recovers, may return to office soon •Embraces mum, meets close family relations From Alvan Ewuzie and Emmanuel Adeyemi [Lokoja] Thursday, April 22, 2010 Ailing President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua sprang a surprise on the nation last night when he came down from his room upstairs at the presidential villa in Aso Rock. Daily Sun exclusively gathered that the President, for the first time since he was brought back into the country, visited his study room at about 7.30pm last night and was expected to stay there until about 10pm. He was still there as the time of filing this report. ‘For the first time, the President saw and recognised his mother when he came down. He was excited and embraced the woman’, said our source. Details were rather scanty but Daily Sun learnt that members of his immediate family have been overjoyed since the sudden development and are said to have been on the telephone calling up as many people as they could to report the pleasant news. It was not, however, clear whether the President, who was evacuated from the country on November 23, last year for treatment in Saudi Arabia, was now healthy enough to return to the seat of power at the presidency. There had been speculations in the past fortnight that the President was recuperating, prompting his family to give access to selected clerics to see him. The Muslim clerics, who saw him on Good Friday, preceded a select group of Christian clerics, who had visited on Easter Monday. We gathered that the selective audience being granted were aimed at staving off impeachment moves and give him a continued stake on power until he recovers completely. Hints about President Yar’Adua’s imminent return was given earlier yesterday by his cousin, Architect Ahmed Yar’Adua, who is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of National Inland Waterways, while speaking to Correspondents. He emphatically said his cousin was recuperating fast and would soon return to office. However, it was not clear immediately whether he would resume official duties promptly. Presidency officials contacted declined comments on the development, refusing to disclose whether they had been told about any imminent return to office. Yesterday’s development, Daily Sun learnt, was a sharp contrast to the reports of some of the clergy, who gave the impression that Yar’Adua’s recovery would take an outlandish miracle to come to fruition. They reported that Yar’Adua stared blankly as they prayed for him and were not too sure if he recognised their presence or even responded to their prayers. Architect Yar’Adua expressed the imminent return of his cousin yesterday while fielding questions from members of the Correspondents chapel, who visited him in his office. He also expressed satisfaction with the level of work on the ongoing dredging o f the River Niger and said, at least, 60 percent of the job had been completed while the first lap of the dredging was expected to end by the second quarter of this year. He disclosed that his organisation, in collaboration with some private investors, was gearing efforts towards the provision of ferry services along Onitsha - Warri waterways to enhance transportation of goods from the riverine areas. Answering a question on the ferry services between Shintaku-Ganaja waterway, the NIWA boss said his organisation was already fine-tuning ways to restore the ferry services to aid transportation of the communities in the affected area. He expressed hope that commercial activities within Lokoja and its environs would soon increase when the dredging is finally completed and urged communities along the coastal areas to continue to co-operate with the contractors. http://sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2010/apr/22/national-22-04-2010-001.htm |
Nigeria is awash with so many business opportunities. Despite all the talk about poor infrastructure and bad business environment, there is loads of money to be made here in Nigeria. I returned to Nigeria a few years back and I must admit that the country is awash with money. I've probably made much more money in my few years here than I made throughout my stay in Europe and The U.S. There is a lot of business opportunities, but one advise I would give is that before you make your final move, come back home for a month or two and do some research. After that, you should be able to identify what business you would most likely want to venture into and the cost implications of such a business. You would have to fund you business completely from your own income as banks are not likely to hand you loans. So prepare your capital before you come. These are a few area that are loaded with opportunities and would definitely give you quick returns on your investment. Retail/Distribution of FMCGs. Food Processing Transportation/ Haulage. IT/ Telecommunications Furniture making Building/Construction Real Estate Automobile Servicing And an endless list of others! The whole logic about starting any business is first, that there is a yearning market for whatever you choose to do and secondly, that you have knowledge and passion for the business you have chosen to venture into. Like I said earlier, take a trip to Nigeria first and assess the market b4 taking a firm decision on what exactly you would be going into. |
IBB hasn't paid yet. Very soon he(Kosovo) would be presenting his proposal not directly to IBB but to some IBB boys. If they like it, they will ferry him to Minna after which he might just get his cheque. Lets support him, he might share us some of the loot!! ![]() |
Hey people, lets not miss the context in which Gusau spoke. Gusau is in this meeting with the New ministers explaining to them what can constitute a security threat to the nations intergrity. He is trying to bring it to them that actions they take without considering the implications can breach the security of this country. He sighted a lot of examples, but one was outstanding. He sighted Sanusi's damaging act on the nation's economy as one constituting a breach of security. And I totally agree with him. He is not speaking from an economic standpoint, so lets not argue economics. He is speaking from a security standpoint. If you read the article properly, you'd notice he mentioned specifically the fact that only eight banks were punished for acts that were committed by virtually all the existing banks. There are many things we laymen don't know about. All our info comes from the press. Gusau on the other hand is a security expert per excellence and he has info on virtually all the important things that happen in Nigeria. One thing I can state(don't ask me how I know) is that before the appointment of Sanusi, meetings were held and some of those meetings also involved foreigners and things discussed at some of those meetings included how to take over the Nigerian Banking sector. One of the decisions reached was to take advantage of the economic crisis 2 cause choas in the banking sector. With the fabricated chaos in the sector, the battered banks would be ripe for government bailouts after which the assest would be sold off to the executors at giveaway prices. Obviously, the Vanguard reported just little snippets form that meeting. Sanusi has followed this agenda since he took over the CBN. Sanusi copnspired with both NIgerians and foreigners to damage the nations's economy, just to fulfill their own religious agenda. Now tell me, if an act of this nature doesn't constitute a beach to the nation's security, what does?? Sanusi should be tied to a stake a shot for this treasonable act! |
This man can't change. At 70, he is already who he is. He is back to his Maradona ways in just one week of his public appearance! I like the man as a person, but not as a leader. He might just be pathological liar. He probably forgot to take his pills. |
Yesterday he said this: “Because we have seen signs that they are not capable of leading this country and so we feel we should help them. May be they are not given the proper education that is why. I have spent 17 years since I left office.Today he has changed mouth: IBB :Don’t Get Me Wrong on Younger Generation |
^^^^ Great!!! Now this is definitely going to be an exciting one!! Perfect look already!!Perfect!! |

FG To Raise N2.1tr Rescue Fund for Police From Tunde Sanni in Ibadan, 04.19.2010 Piqued by the poor infrastuctural provisions to the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Government has disclosed that it would raise a whopping N2.1trillion from the three tiers of government as a ''rescue mission'' for the force in the next five years. Under the rescue mission, the three tiers of government are to jointly raise N420 billion yearly to rescue the police from further deterioration. According to Parry Osayande, a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) who, as Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC) led a delegation to Ibadan at the weekend, the bail out fund was part of the fall-out of the report of the committee raised by the current administration headed by a former Inspector-General of Police (IGP),Mohammed Dikko Yusufu to look into ways of giving the Nigeria police a new face. The PSC team however took their turn to fault the crude manner in which many policemen handle civilians, stressing that the commission was determined to parade 21st Century policemen who are in tune with the rule of law and world’s best practices in policing. They also condemned extra-judicial killings, corruption, unlawful use of power, brutality and hostility to the public. Osyande stressed that the bail out fund would be spent on training, retraining, transportation, communication, welfare and all other things that would enhance the operational efficiency of the force. He said the question of whether the money would be realized or not did not arise, because, according to him, everybody had seen the need to reposition the force to meet the challenges of the 21st century. He explained that since the Commission came on board in 2008, a lot had been done to reposition the security institution among which was the recalling of those police officers unjustly sacked in the last 10 to 15 years. He disclosed that the application of the federal character in promoting officers and men of the Force was gone forever, pointing out that promotion would henceforth be based on performance in prescribed examination and availability of vacancies. He 'federal character would only be used at the point of entry into the Force and not in getting promotion as it was in the past''. Osayande enjoined the serving police officers and men to reciprocate the gesture by being up and doing threatening that the Commission would not hesitate to throw away any of them found not ready to go along the same pace with the Commission. The retired DIG condemned wrong practices among police and warned that bad eggs who are unable to ship up through the regular training and improved welfare package being put in place will be shown the way out of the force. He also disclosed that the Police Affairs Ministry plans to build one police college in Benin and another in Nassarawa with additional plan to upgrade the colleges in Kano and Jos to degree awarding institutions. Osayande maintained that the target of the commission is to ensure that the 377,000-strong Nigerian police are provided with the wherewithal to do their jobs effectively. The team, however, pledged to take more seriously the welfare of policemen including promotion, allowances and improved remuneration, adding that a report on how the goals would be accomplished had already been submitted to the government. He said: “We have discovered that there are extra-judicial killings in the police. We want to change and we must tell ourselves the truth. We are engaged in extra-judicial killings, corruption, use of power unlawfully, brutality, hostility and treating the public in uncivilized manner. “We know the causes are many. They include poor welfare, unpaid allowances and delayed promotion. All these would stop because the police was not like this before. After we came on board in 2008, we have submitted a report on how to reposition the police to the government. |
I think Sanusi is getting some heat right now. When the NSA starts saying you destroyed the economy, then he is actually making reference to the security implications of such an economic sabotage. He probably has some evidence against Sanusi for him to come out in the open and make such blatant criticism. |
@ Mikeansy Hope u dont mind my duplicating your thread! The topic is quite different though. |
CBN Reform Damaging Economy, Says Gusau •‘Anti-graft war ineffective and selective’ From Kunle Akogun in Abuja, 04.19.2010 The National Security Adviser (NSA), General Aliyu Mohammed Gusau (rtd), has faulted the on-going banking sector reform, saying the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) intervention "seemed to have damaged economic activities in the banking sector to the detriment of the larger society". Gusau also reviewed the on-going anti-corruption campaign in the country, writing it off as "ineffective and selective" but promised that the current administration would fight corruption employing equal standards across board. The NSA gave these verdicts at a security awareness seminar organised for the newly appointed ministers by his office in Abuja at the weekend, according to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Adebisi Adekunle. According to Gusau, the travails of the banking sector and the way they were addressed reflect the double standards, which critics perceive in the administration of justice, lamenting that "only a few banks were penalized for what every bank seems to be doing". Gusau said "the fragility of the economy further dictates that offenders be interdicted without damaging the sector. CBN under Mallam sanusi Lamido Sanusi had fired the executive management of eight of the 24 banks in the country last August and October-having found the institutions to be in grave situation after a special audit jointly conducted by the apex bank and Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC). Consequently, the banking watchdog provided N620 billion ($3.9 billion) in liquidity and loan support to the eight institutions, stressing that lax management had left the banks dangerously undercapitalised. These institutions had since been taken over by CBN appointed managements, which had since been running the banks as going concerns until new investors are found to recapitalise them. CBN had put the non-performing loans (NPLs) of the eight banks at N1.524 trillion. The amount, it pointed out, represented 60.75 per cent of the industry’s total NPLs. Given the provisions for bad loans, which the rescued banks and other banks were compelled to make by the apex bank, banks have since shut their doors to borrowers. CBN had also taken other measures which include the proposed categorisation of banks and proposed scrapping of universal banking within the next 18 months, which has been condemned in some quarters. On anti-corruption, Gusau said: "The anti-corruption campaign has been largely considered to be ineffective and selective , because it penalizes a few unfortunate individuals while society see many they consider guilty enjoying their loot in freedom". Acting President Goodluck Jonathan had earlier lamented that the anti-corruption war lacks vigour and that the crusade would be reinvigorated. Gusau said some of the anti-corruption agencies in the country have credibility problems, as "their leaders are being accused of wrong-doings". Stating that corruption is an economic crime that threatens the survival of the country, the NSA said it is difficult to prosecute offenders because of the lengthy delays in court processes "while criminals go in and out of prisons at will, becoming serial offenders". He told the ministers that security of lives, properties and livelihood is threatened by crime, adding that "the crime situation in the country is so high that the law enforcement agencies appear overwhelmed by the sad situation". Gusau said "very little attention is paid to the prevention of crime," insisting that pro-active security measures could assist to prevent crimes while good laws and efficient penal system will deter criminals and reduce crimes. The NSA, however, lamented that "the country's current legal system seems to promote crimes". Gusau, whose address at the seminar was titled "An overview of the nation's security", cautioned the new ministers on the security implications of any lapse in their actions. He said ministers of the federation must be at the vanguard of efforts to restore sanity and stability as well as to increase public confidence in the ability of governance to function as expected. Stressing that the enhancement of human development is a key security objective, the NSA added that “Nigeria is rated low in human development index issued periodically by international institutions.” Public officials, he said, have to be conscious of the impressions they convey by the way they value or depreciate the worth of the average Nigerian. He said "the carnage in Jos and the summary killing of Boko Haram suspects by the police showed the world that Nigerians do not value themselves.” Gusau also said with incidence of polio, guinea worm, malaria and other disease, which have been eradicated in other parts of the world, the commitment of the government to human development has since been under question. The same development, according to him, prevails in the country’s educational facilities as well as given indices of the high unemployment level, poverty, low food security arising from the country’s inability to feed its people and decaying infrastructure. Charging the ministers to be conscious of the impact of public policy on the nation’s security, the NSA said, “I want you to always remember that national security interests are paramount and must be respected. Public policy can have significant impact.” He said it was important for certain public policies to have security inputs just as the introduction of policies, which may be considered controversial, are implemented with adequate preparation by security agencies. He tasked the ministers on the need to carry the people along in policy plan and implementation, saying that to do otherwise have serious consequences both in the short run and long after. The one-day seminar took the new ministers through other relevant areas like Foreign Intelligence Activities and the Threats to Security, Security of Information, Documents and the Operations of Government and The VIP: Enhancing Personal Protection Security and Safety. Other papers presented were on The Anti-corruption Campaign and Crime and Society: Policing and the Current Challenges of Law Enforcement. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation Yayale Ahmed and Head of Service of the Federation Steve Oronsaye moderated the discussions. http://thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=171311 |
If as you stated, weather is a factor in your considerations, then there is no reason why you should want to leave LA. Asides, the rental difference isn't much. The average rent for a one bedroom in Houston is somewhere in the region of $750. If you ask me, I'd say Hamptons Roads is my best. Its a metro area in Virginia. Worked around there some years back. Cheap. Lovely weather. Close to Maryland where you've got loads of Nigerians and lots of Jobs back then. Dunno about now. You might want 2 check it up. |

^^^^ Exactly! That actually means that from a security standpoint, Sanusi is actually culpable of what I think is a treasonable offence because according to the chief security officer of the federation Sanusi's actions single handedly sabotaged the economy. That by implication amounts to a breach in security! |

Beaf:^^^ ![]() If Enyimba fans catch that commentator in Aba. . . . Nice analogy. Puts everything in context. A moderator must be moderate and do things in moderation. Even though he hasn't made any legal infraction, regarding his posts on IBB, he has lost his moral authority as a Moderator. |
ola olabiy:Naaah he can't delete Papabrowne nor Papbrowne's posts. His powers have limitations. On a serious note sha, Kosovo has the freedom to promote whomever he feels like, IBB or whoever, as long as he is not breaking any of the agreed rules. It would only be a problem if he begins to use his powers to disenfranchise other forumites who oppose IBB's candidate. At this point, I don't think he has done that. |

I watched this sometime last year and for days I couldn't get it off my brains. Kept making references to it! Marvellous video. I think he relocated back to Nigeria and had a thread sometime back where he said he intends to contest for elections into the House Of Reps! |
Big B1:Ever heard the phrase, . . . . .living to fight another day! Thats what he did. Now he is coming back and would turn IBB's presidential ambition into a nightmare of sorts. |
Ok, it is time to expose Kosovo! Kosovo has a gameplan and its all financial. Very soon he will be making a proposal to some of IBB's errand boys. He intends to present himself as a key official of the largest online platform in Nigeria with membership of over 500,000. He would propose to the IBB boys that he could use this platform to garner as much support from the Nigerian youth for the Babangida campaign. He would remind them that Obama's campaign victory was predicated on the success of his online campaign. Then they(the IBB boys) would be thrilled. They would ask how much it would cost. Kosovo's intended price: 43.5 Million naira for the 1st phase. Then he will be asked for proof that he truly is a moderator on Africa's largest online forum. Then he(Kosovo) will bring out his XPERIA X10 and log on to Nairaland and refer his mugu's to all these his nauseating IBB's posts! Then bravo! They ferry him(Kosovo) to Minna from his base in the ancient city to meet with the Half Toothed Evil Genuis. Evil Genis is impressed to tears and on seeing Kosovo's psychopathic venerations on Nairaland and Kaboom! Cheque in hand!! Kosovo is 45 Million richer! Kosovo, you are using your status as a moderator to profit abii?? Oya defend ya self! On the other hand, if you no mind, make we partiner for this ya yahoo yahoo!Me na only 20% cut I dey find. |
More Development Threads *Why Africa is Underdeveloped, by Bill Clinton Former President of the United States of America, Mr. Bill Clinton, yesterday in Abuja, dispelled the common notion that lack of growth in developing nations was caused by corruption, saying “too little capacity” is responsible for problems in the third world.https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-18109.0.html *Nigeria: Developed, Developing, Or Underdeveloped Country? Arguments have been raised on whether Nigeria is a Developed; Developing or Underdeveloped Country? Going by this quote, i agree that Nigeria is an UNDERDEVELOPED country. What do you think?https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-74953.0.html *Nigerian Development Movement - Get Involved This is not a political party of any sort but a social movement. A social movement that seeks to bring about change in all strata of Nigeria which people are willing to contribute in. We invite and encourage all who want to contribute in whichever sector they are willing to contribute in. We welcome all who want to make an impact and we ask that all feel free for this is not about any one person but about the change we desire for Nigeria, this is not about any one person but about a people’s movement. This is a platform for working towards actualisations of set goals in whatever sphere anyone is interested in contributing in and in whatever capacity people are willing to contribute in to positively impact on Nigeria, we have the opportunity to act. This is not about being financially aggrandised but actions towards the greater good, not about power or egos but selfless service towards development. Democracy has being described as “government by the people, of the people, for the people”. What is sought is a reawakening of “the people”, you and I. Get involved and spread the word. Would you stand to be counted?https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-230880.0.html *Economic Development In Africa for all african countries, political independence did not mean economic development as well, because the pattern of economic relationships between them and the developed countries remained the same. africa still depended on the european nations for capital for development and technology. african countries still supplied raw materials to the industrialized nations and in turn she buys from them manufactured goods of all sorts, in fact, the worst part of the arrangement is that africa has no control over the prices of her goods and those she imports. the industrialized nations control both. **what is responsible for this, and what is the way out?https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-23244.0.html * Oil Companies Are Not Responsible For Niger Delta Development People that blame oil companies for the woes in the Niger Delta need to have their heads examined. A lot of people just talk without knowing how the revenue structure works. Do you know that in a typical joint venture, the sharing formula is NNPC (60%) and the oil company (40%). Out of this 40% the oil company pays taxes that are as much as 85% on their profits. Government then pulls their 40% revenue along with the huge taxes, royalties, bonuses and shares it amongst the 3 tiers of govt out of which the Niger Delta states get 13% before any sharing is done at all. Now people want the oil companies to start playing the role of govt after all that. Do you wait to ask yourself if it is Shell, Exxon etc that construct roads, supply electricity, build hospitals in places like Aberdeen and Houston? It's absurd to expect a private entity which pays its taxes to govt to still carry all these responsibilities. They have investors whose monies they are using for business and they need to have returns too. Any they do is just a matter of corporate social responsibility and people shouldn't hold them by the throat because IT IS NOT COMPULSORY THAT THEY DO IT!!https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-46378.0.html#msg996857 |
