The Goodluck Jonathan impact still reverberates till today! |
In my opinion, this is the height of poverty mentality! Money in the bank doesn't not equate to wealth! Many of these folks you see flashing designer items are actually still stuck in their mindset of poverty. A big loud voice exists in their subconscious that reminds them that they are still poor. In order to silence the poverty music they grew up with, they take to flashing cheap materials like pieces of clothing, bottles of champagne, wrist watches and a few cars here and there. How much is a Gucci shoe? Around $1200. So even if you buy 100 pairs, thats just $120,000(About N40 MILLION). It can't even buy you a plot of land in Agungi side of Lekki sef. It can't even buy you a quarter of a plot of land in phase one. How much is a business class ticket? 1.5million ish return depending on destination. Even if you fly 20 times a year, its just 30 million. That amount cant buy you a house even in Calabar. Really wealthy guys don't have time for showing off cheap clothing items. Dangotes wealth is in his work. So is Bill Gates. Or Mark Zukerberg. Thats wealth. All these cheapo dudes are stuck on their poverty mindsets! |
I like this Okpako guy. Very passionate about exports to Europe. Met him one and he knows his stuff. He kind of looks like Nnamdi Kanu in the picture. |
When I hear IPOB give clear answers to the questions you raised. I will start taking them seriously. I dislike when any movement is built on the for another group or person. And that's what IPOB has largely been about. Same way APC was built on the hater for Jonathan. Such movements usually end up failing terribly when the subject of thier hate is gone. Same way APC is failing terribly. |
cumbak60:We don't necessarily have to collapse states. We still need the states. The states will take on the simpler responsibilities like healthcare, education while the regions would be responsible for complex infrastructure like railways, Trunk A roads, Police, international Airports, etc. Basing regions on ethnic lines in Nigeria can't work. We have more than 500 groups scattered left right and center. The current geopolitical design with six zones is the best balance we can work with maybe with some small modifications here and there. An example of the unworkability of such can be found in Igbanke Edo state. Would you say because Igbanke is an Igboid group, it should then be a part of South East? To do that, you'd have to cut out large swaths of Esan and Bini tribes and put in the South East. The 3 big tribes like the idea of ethnicity. The minorities don't like it. It is the individual groups that should decide where they want to be. For instance, it's not an Abia man that should decide where Asaba should be. It is an Asaba man that should decide whether he wants to be in the South East or South South. |
These politicians don't get the logic. It's not about whether Buhari is sick or not. It's is about the fact that he has abandoned his duty post and as a result Nigeria dwindles. What am I even saying sef. More like when he was around Nigeria was dwindling but now that he is absent the country is on a standstill. I just realized that standstill is better than dwindling. |
Afam4eva:I have a list of 7 ways to stop Ipob. And this is number 3 on the list. I'm not putting out the list though bcuz while I don'tsupport IPOB, I think Nigeria is a terrible place. Imagine a scenario where groups in every part of the country start coming out claiming they are part of Biafra. And actually start serious marches with Biafra flags. Kaduna state for Biafra. Adamawa state wants Biafra. Lagos wants Biafra. |
I'm coming! |
Please Pat Utomi, do whatever is possible to beG overnor in 2019. But please leave APC as that party is a foul smelling assembly that would be roundly rejected in all South South states with Edo as an exception because the Governor, Obaseki isn't doing badly. Please revive your ADC party. |
chiagozien:Don't get me wrong. I'm not pro Nigeria. I actually don't believe Nigeria as is can work. And FYI, Nnamdi Kanu tends to include my Local government in IPOB's Biafra. I believe that Biafra needs a better strategy that is built on a quest for developing the region rather than a hatred for others. You don't build your foundation on hatred. |
FrancisDiote:The article is on point. The problem with Kanu and IPOB is an absolute lack of an intellectual wing. There is no strategy whatsoever. Its just simply a movement playing on the deep emotions of young Igbos and the catastrophic divisionism brought about by Buhari. Ojukwu was a real leader. At no point did he preach hatred. He just preached salvation of his people. Kanu has done so much damage to the psyche of his supporters that I fear the consequences when it all reaches a crescendo. |
mapet:Ok! Like seriously, How better do you define Cleaniness, History or Genuineness" of a cargo?? A proposal is presented to you with the full backing of the Nigerian Government and and as a business man, you'll do your due diligence and take the charge!! Please explain to me when Igho was appointed EFCC chairman to start investigating a sitting minister before he accepts a job offer. While I wouldn't hold brief for Kola Aluko and Jide, since when did they become faceless?? FYI, based on your theory, every oil trade emanating from Nigeria for the last 30 years till this very second would fail the "cleanliness, history or genuineness test"! And same for more than 50% of all the oil trade in the world!! |
organiza:How long to maturity? |
If you read this article properly, especially if you are into business and get to do transfers regularly, you would find nothing incriminating there. I have read it over and over to see where there was a crime but couldn't find any. So AEB got a license to lift rude for sale overseas. They find a competent company, Televeras that has the networks and the logistics capacity to execute the trade. They enter a price sharing agreement with Televeras paying a percentage of its trade to AEBD. Apparently, that's what the transfers must have been about. Televeras paying off its commitment to the owner of the license. Where is the crime? If the crime is in Deizani getting kickbaks from the trade off, then that is definitely corrupt practice. But this article didn't in anyway indicate that Televeras transferred money to DEIZANI. This is mere sensational reporting. Televeras has not been shown to commit any rime. |
danduj:Touché!! |
Fashola has been very successful in ensuring that Nigeria lives up to the meaning of its name! Nigeria means "Dark Area" in Latin. Fashola has successfully ensured that Nigeria remains in darkness for the last two years. |
Lifestone:His proposal should be dumped in a soakaway pit. It has no value to be discussed. Why don't we start by banning fuel imports so that we can start refining our crude locally. Do you know whats annoying? The fact that he even has the effrontery to mention it means that he doesn't even feel the sensibilities of Nigerians at the moment. And the more annoying thing is that folks like you, help rationalize his stupidity and thats whats keeps them going on and on with all this nonsense. To think that Buhari is in London while not a single hospital wall has been painted talkless of equipped in the last 2 years and you think we should rationalise this man's stupidity? Haba!! |
Lifestone:Dude, you are the one who should get a life. Apparently, you are not updated and know too little about the waves Nigerian entertainment sector is making globally. Do yourself a favour and go to youtube, watch a Nigerian music video from Psuare, Tekno, Davido, Wizkid et al and read comments and see how many young people from Congo to Costa Rica, Madagascar to Montenegro are drolling over Nigerian music. Ever heard of cultural Invasion? These youngsters have built a global audience for themselves and are making Nigerians proud. And they cannot compromise the quality of their output in the name of satisfying Lai Mohammed stupidity. Quality is king and thats the source of their success! Funnily, its even cheaper for them to fly a whole crew to South Africa and shoot a top quality video than shoot it in Lagos where Lai Mohammeds area boys and government bureaucrats are waiting to milk them dry and kill their hard work. Art is not manufacturing! You only stifle creativity when you apply draconian measures. |
These Jewish guys ehn!! They are good! Just wondering the amount of talent Hitler killed out in the concentration camps! |
Following! |
lagostokd:I didn't see the fraud as you described. Muslims have a way they prefer thier meat prepared the same way Europeans have standards about how hygienic foods should be before they are allowed into Europe. Heck, even Nigeria has Nafdac certification before you can sell food products here. For foreigners to register a single brand before it can be brought into Nigeria they would have to shell out $7500. Nothing wrong with Halal. It's thier way of life and they've chosen that before you can sell them meat, it must have been killed in a way that is according to their beliefs. I have seen Kelloggs with Nafdac number in U.K supermarket |
But it's not only Halal that operates certification systems. What about Kosher certifications? What about Globalgap? What about Fairtrade? I think it's all fair! |
No its you that should be forgiven! You supported that sham! We can forgive you sir! Buhari destroyed lives and livelihoods! It's God who will forgive him. |
karlz:I agree with you. |
Dedetwo:It's very sad that you disrespect our choice to be called Niger Deltans. And that's part of the reason most South South suddenly became uncomfortable with IPOBs Biafra. Let me explain to you once more. We have chosen to be termed Niger Deltans to represent our minority status under one umbrella. That way, we have a voice versus the big groups like Igbos, Yorubas and Hausas. But no, you want us divided along ethnic lines where we would fight ourselves over trivials. You are a monoethnic block of 40 million. We are a multiethnic block of 30 million with over 30 ethnic groups. You don't know our story nor our struggle! We cannot afford ethnic chauvinism. It will cause turmoil in our land. For you guys that are monoethnic, you are fine with that. We I repeat, cannot afford it. And that's where IPOB and its followers are finding no support in the Niger Delta. We love our Igbo brothers and would love to be in the same country with them but surely not under IPOBs Biafra and it's ethnic chauvinist ideologies! |
If Buhari resigns or any other thing happens to him, Osibanjo's master stroke would be to appoint Aisha Buhari as his vice. She would focus on empowering women. That way all the power mongers would be lost on what to do. |
It's a no brainer to have two religions with very fundamentally different tenets been put in as one subject. Even Muslims should be worried about this. |
Maduawuchukwu:I am game! If you have time, read about Belgium's political system and how they had to restructure. You can use Wikipedia. Thier system might be very apt for Nigeria. |
winningwinner:Well, you need to look at it well. I think majority of the country is now agreed that restructuring is the way forward. But different people have different notions of what that restructuring means. We need to move beyond rhetoric and start discussing the core issues before any formal assembly begins. What kind of geographic structure do we want? So we want regions and states at the same time? Do we want just regions or just states? What kind of resource control do we want? Do we want state resource control or regional resource control. What kind of security structure do we want? State police, regional police or maintain status quo. The beauty with discussing now is that we would elaborately analyze our assumptions and understand the implications before we send representatives to start discussing. Let me give an example using resource control. I am from the south south and I support resource control. But I don't want it to happen instantly because it will have negative implications on various parts of Nigeria. If it happens instantly a beautiful state like Enugu would instantly be thrown into turmoil as it wouldn't be able to pay salaries, maintain public services or build infrastructure. No matter the strategy, it would need time to adjust. There would be a population drift to Rivers, Delta and Akwa Ibom who would now have the grapple with increasing cost of living as a result of population explosion. Insfrastructure would begin to strain and the suffering would increase! You see why we should start having these discussions already? The platforms exist for us to start these discussions! Nairaland is one. We can use it! We love rhetoric without substance in this country! That's exactly how APC deceived people with thier change mantra! |
How can a White supremacist actually choose the blackest country in the world to come and hide in? Is he Bi Polar?? Abeg they should check well jor! No white supremacist can stay in Lagos for more than a week and not commit suicide. |
To be fair, they are correct! That is one huge funny problem with Nigeria. We just like rhetoric. That's how people voted in APC without asking what they meant by change. We are screaming restructuring without any group coming out with a concise study on how we should go about it. I support restructuring. Maybe I should try come out with a document on how we should restructure. Infact, I would. |
Bagudu is the best Governor in Northern Nigeria. Kebbi state is going to be one of the greatest Agriculture producer in Nigeria. 100 John Deere tractors. Thats impressive. If an average tractor works 20 hectares daily, that means we are talking 2000 hectares of land daily. In 100 days, thats 200,000 hectares. If an average hectare produces 500,000 Naira in financial yields, that equates to 100 billion Naira added to Kebbi's GDP with this purchase!! Thats the way to go. In a short while, Kebbi will not care ish about oil money. |
