Can someone please confirm this?

I have just heard a rumour that Yar Adua is pregnant with twins. They said while on his way to the mosque, he fell into sudden labour and was taken to a maternity home in Asokoro.I hear Turai is the father of the babies. Wonders shall never end!

Can someone please confirms this? grin grin

Nonsense! Who are these folks taking Nigerians for? ?
In my opinion Jonathan is preparing for 2011, it started from the removing of NSA sarki Mukhtar, he wisely choosed Gusau, whereas Gusau is a focal point of IBB and OBJ. what i mean choosing Gusau will buy him a favourable hand from Babangida who still have political influnces. which he has succeeded. in a pretencious move he removes Micheal Aondoaka, the movement gives some credit to Jonathan. Now that Jonathan has scrapped the federal excutive council and brought people that are his alike, tell me what will happen?? In a sharp- sharp way the ministers will declare Yar'adua incapacitated.
When this is achieved the next bulk step is to remove Vincent ogbulafor for chairmanship of PDP, then PDP National Excutive council with Obasanjo as head of board of trustees will quickly dis-associate itself with Ogbulafor's statement when he saJonathan will not be given 2011 presidential ticket". There will be jeers and ranting from the north, but Gusau will serve for that, he willl be telling IBB we are in the government nothing will happen. A new campaing to keep Jonathan with the affairs of the state beyond 2011 will be kick up, All those that are circulating rumours of the coming back of Yar'adua are prophets of Doom.Jonathan has come to stay beyond 2011.
Nice analysis. I agree with you!
The good thing though is that even as he prepares for 2011 by wisely taking care of vested interests, he knows that the electorate is his number one support base.
The goodwill Jonathan has received from Nigerians has been overwhelming. In order not to lose this support base, the only card he has on them is performance, performance, performance. If he can deal fix the Niger Delta, execute electoral reforms and solve the power problem, then he would have a roller coaster ride to victory come 2011.

Cant these losers give up alreadyhuh Cant they see that after every move they make, Jonathan keeps climbing higher and higher.
They probably thought smuggling Yar Adua in would weaken Jonathan. Sorry, it strengthened him.
Any silly actions they take would only strengthen Jonathan more and more
PoliticsRe: Analysis Of Jonathans Ministers by PapaBrowne(m): 2:56am On Mar 25, 2010
Beaf:
In the discussion about ministers, we generally miss one important factor. . . The Presidential Advisory Commitee (PAC). It might hold Jonathans ultimate chess move, making the choice of ministers just a gambit to please all sections and power brokers.
If the PAC plays a strong part then, quite a few ministers will end up mere managers of decisions taken elsewhere. Jonathan can use the PAC as a remote control influence to either up a ministers game or diminish his/her power.

Depending on how Jonathan plays it, the choice of ministers might not be in the least bit critical. There is too much leeway in the current arrangement to make any informed argument.
Right on point!! It would be safe to assume that many of the key decisions and policy directions would be taken by the PAC, after which they would be passed down to the ministers to implement. With Jonathan breathing on the ministers to hit the targets he hands to them, they would have no choice but to perform accordingly.

In the long run it would be a win win for both performance and politics.

Jonathan is showing signs of extraordinary wit and it looks like we are going to have him around over the next decade. The guy is very coded-smart guy!

The guy is pandering too much to the establishment. He is planning too much for 2011. It will be worth it if all these establishment conventional behaviours is because he wants to continue as President in 2011.

What I will find very disturbing is if he is playing all these cards just to be nominated VP for a second term. That will be horrendous.
That would be very very horrendous and terribly so. But I want to believe that he is much smarter than that!

Still got some hope though in a few of the folks on there.

What has he really done?
I don't know what he has done! But obviously he did something!
Majority of the problems faced in Nigeria are caused by stupid bureaucratic bottlenecks. Unlock them and huge problems are solved instantly.

For instance, Obasanjo purchased some really huge power turbines in 2007. Since Yar Adua came in, they remained at the ports without clearance because of some stupid bureaucracies placed by customs.
From what I'm hearing, when Jonathan took overthose turbines got cleared immediately. Why was it so hard for Yar Adua to do just that?

US to assist Nigeria, others on nuclear power

The United States of America has pledged to assist Nigeria and other African countries interested in generating electricity from nuclear sources.

The US Ambassador to Nigeria, Ms. Robin Sanders, who made the pledge on Monday in Abuja at a meeting of the Forum of Nuclear Regulatory Bodies in Africa, said that the US would render the assistance through the International Atomic Energy Agency, working with the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority and Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.

Sanders said the US was pleased that African countries had come together to create the FNRBA, which would help them exchange ideas and experiences in building their nuclear legislative and regulatory capacities.

She explained that “developing a safe and reliable nuclear power is a major undertaking that requires long-term planning and development and a huge investment for any country.

“The United States is appreciative that the FNRBA is taking a methodical and systematic approach in helping member states develop the foundation for the safe and reliable application of nuclear technology.”

The ambassador further stressed that every country must recognise the risks associated with the application of nuclear technology and the importance of safeguarding nuclear materials from falling into the wrong hands.

Nine countries, including Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Nigeria are members of the FNRBA.

Other member countries are South Africa, Namibia, Tanzania and Tunisia.

Delivering his opening address, the Special Adviser to the President on Petroleum Matters and the Alternative Chairman of NNRA, Dr. Emmanuel Egbogah, said about 20 African countries were at various stages of implementing nuclear power programmes.

He explained that the high number of African countries and other considerations led Nigeria to spearhead the formation of the FNRBA.

He noted that Nigeria was aware of the prevailing international anxiety over nuclear security and proliferation of nuclear weapons.

To allay the fears, Egbogah invited the international community to share with Nigeria and other African countries how to pursue the utilisation of nuclear energy for power generation in a peaceful and safe manner.

In his speech, the Director General, Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority, Prof. Shamsudeen Elegba, noted that the workshop was aimed to sharing experiences as Africa, outside South Africa, took the first deliberate steps in the generation of electricity from nuclear power plants.

According to him, the objectives of the forum are to “provide a platform for fostering regional cooperation, provide for the exchange of expertise, information and experience, provide opportunity for mutual support and coordination of regional initiatives and leverage the development and optimization of resource utilization.”

RoadStar:
I don't see anything wrong with the way Sanusi is operating.
As a matter of fact he is doing a good job in Nigerias standard .
He is neither the the President or the Economic Minister.
The only reason sanusi is finding things so hard with most of you are comparing him to Soludo.
Compare him to Ahmed, Ogwuma and Joseph Sanusi and you will discover that he is doing an above average job.
Sanusi's CV was there for all to see, hence his simplistic policeman attitude to the job.
Its true sef. Why should we expect much from someone whose only qualification above a Bsc is his degree in Sharia studies.
He can only give what he has! I think Soludo upped the bar soo high that our expectations of a CBN governor has become so demanding.

The big question would be "Who will act while he is away"? He doesn't have a vice president!

But good move. And let me predict- After his meeting with Obama, the US would delist Nigeria from that terror watch list!

I think the US have found their man in Jonathan. They would do anything to ensure that the man continues beyond 2011!

Problem is, apart from Lagos, very little economic activity goes on in the entire South of Nigeria.
In fact, apart from Lagos, where else do you have that kind of food demand?
The rulers of most of the states (except Lagos!) are all PDP surrogates, stuck on the lucre of federal money, available to loot and share.
State governments need to invest in mechanised farming, create co-operatives to grow the domestic farming activity. But do they know or care? They're slaves of Abuja.
Dude mehn, you are kinda ignorant!!

Do a little travelling mehn. What I see in Lagos is poverty, poverty, poverty. There is so much poverty and squalor in Lagos. I don't see that in most other states of the south, especially those of the south south and south east. Please travel a bit before squealling gibberish!!

Thanks for the well rounded analysis! You said it all.

How come some folks are still defending Sanusi when Sasnusi himself knows that he is a huge failure already??

See, its almost a year since Sanusi took over and till date all he has done is damage, damage, damage! Anyway, I'm not surprised.
What do you expect from Sanusi when the highest qualification he has related to his job is a BSc in Economics from ABU?? So all his years in the banking industry he never even deemed it fit to do an MBA? Why should we be surprised at his actions. The guy doesn't know nothing!

Banks are struggling and very soon their backs might be broken!
How are banks going to make money when they aren't giving out loans? No loans, no investments, no margin trading(i don't support this), no round tripping of forex(i don't support), no aggressive marketing, etc. Nothing to do, no money to be made!
Banks can't survive on COT and ATM charges, its impossible!!

Tell me how Sanusi wants his banks to survive??

If you understand the power Jonathan wields right now, you'd realize that it is impossible for him to stoop back down and become a Vice President under Babangida. Its impossible.Only a fool would propose such a move!!
Rather, it is Babangida that would become Jonathan's Vice president.

Great. You did some investigations and found out about the thief.
Then You have no evidence to report him to the police.
What exactly did you do and what did you discover ?

Apparently you wrote all the stock exchange firms to know if this man bought stocks somewhere.
You also wrote the banks to check where all his source of income come from.
Then you went to his fathers will to know if the old man left him some money.
You also know whether this man sold a piece of land somewhere to generate money.
Or maybe you also discovered if he has a brother abroad who sent him money.
Did you find out if he is a 419 whom Mr Anderson from Sweden bought his acts ?

As long as we dont see any evidence here, we are not interested in calling him bad names.
Dude, mehn!! What are U saying? Can't you readhuh

Can't you read that "apart from the first 10,000 naira" he hasn't given anything towards the boys treatment despite the fact that much, much more than that was sent to him. Add that to the new car and new flat! Isn't that evidence enough that he has utilized the money for other purposes?

NOT TRUE! Any thing that panders to your innermost desires can be used to dupe you. It doesn't have to be about money.

No one is totally immune from being duped. A very good example, If a girl buys a £3 Primark top for 8 grand; I can safely say she has been duped because she paid a premium for a cheap and substandard top because it pandered to her taste for foreign goods.
I'd rather call that over-profiteering than call it fraud. The price she pays for the Primark top is the value she placed on it.

I agree though that "anything that panders to your innermost desires can be used to dupe you".
However, in cases of Advance Fee Fraud which is what the poster has experienced, greed is the key ingredient required by the fraudsters to catch mugu!! And dude was greedy, so he was made to maga!
