Interesting article. |
Austin234:All this kind of responses without logic just beats me!! A probe has been carried out according to the report and the probe claims there was massive corruption. In the end, it talked about nepotism. Now, why would you discover corruption and the people that partook in the act are still sitting pretty in their offices?? Helping someone with a business plan is corruption?? That's illiteracy on your part!! Business plans are not exams ok? I'm tired of all these lies period! They are built for gullible Nigerians like you to cover up for the failures of this administration. |
enigma2007:Dude, there is a YOUWIN thread here on Nairaland. That program was tightly scrutinized by the DFID. Every winner was verified multiple times. You had to defend your business plan before a panel. You were assigned a mentor and a monitor who constantly visited your location to both ensure you are following track with your business plan and you are not using the money wrongly. The money was released in tranches based on our performance on the first tranche. The lies of this government is a disease. And its so annoying how these lies are just perpetrated for politial purposes at the expense of Nigeria's growth and development. Why cant they release the names of those government officials involved? If you claim there was nepotism, why haven't any officials been given suspension letters? That's how the minister of finance has been claiming to have busted 50,000 ghost workers and saved 200 billion in expenses, yet if you look at 2016 vs 2017 budget, you'd realize there is an increase in the salary bill by almost 300 billion without any new employments or salary increases. The lies are just too much. |
The lies in this government are just nauseating. YOUWIN was and remains the only program run in Nigeria in recent years that was devoid of Nepotism. I know a number of people that won and they did so only with very sound business plans. I wrote business plans for a few people and they won without knowing anyone in Abuja. The other lie is that it favored people from a particular region. This program was region based with a maximum cap per region. The names of the winners are online with their states of origin. There is a thread on nairaland for YOUWIN winners and you can verify from the discussions whether there was any sense of nepotism. This was an internationally acclaimed program that had the input of the DFID & Worldbank. The main reason this government is failing and would continue failing is because it was founded on lies upon lies. |
Edo is making monumental progress. The kind of changes Edo would represent in a few years would be tremendous. Well done to the Oba. He understands society. He went beyond just sitting in his palace and making a decree but but actioned it by ensuring it becomes law. The governor is also I think the most technocratic governor in Nigeria today. |
At 32 rubbers for 80k, sounds expensive. Or are there different rubber sizes? |
All this foolish focus on Dino Melaye.... While $6.9 billion in Paris Club refunds is been squandered by our Governors. While 2017 budget hasn't even been discussed in the house talk less of being passed. This kind of foolishness baffles me. Rather focus on developmental issues that affect you, you'd rather open a thread that has no relevance. Of what effect does whether or not Dino graduated have on you except of course you are from Kogi West and he is your representative. You guys are just victims of a stupid fight between stupid politicians who know nothing about service. |
YorubaMuslims:The used a different strategy. Adopted the Hausa language and turned it into a lingua franca |
Dhortunn:Yeah I do. You can send me an email on that email. |
The greatest mistake the Benin made at the time was to make the Edo language an elitist lingual spoken only by the Binis. If they acted like the English, they would have forced their subjects to speak Bini and the rest would have been historically. The entire SW would have been speaking Bini today. |
Nice info. Wouldn't mind the manual. But man, I need more than a manual. Can't I pay to have you run out ad campaign? My email papabrowne@gmail.com |
I think APC is a useless party with so many useless politicians. However, Obaseki and Ambode are currently the best Governors in Nigeria. With the kind words of plans and work already been laid down in Edo state by Obaseki, the state is on its way to an exciting development story. |
The writer has no sense of business. Haba na. Your publisher brings you an offer that would sell 1.5 million copies yearly and asks that you accept negotiations for a bulk discount and you just blatantly refuse? You aren't the one doing the printing, you have no overheads, you just wrote a book 10 years ago and just for nothing you refuse a build discount offering? The writer is an illiterate. 1.5 million copies yearly. Even if the royalties is just 30 Naira, that's like getting paid N45 million yearly for a job you did 10 years ago. That one na oil well na! When he was writing the book did he even dream of selling 10,000 copies?? Some people sef. |
All this political hypocrisy is just tiring!! People are angry because Fulani herdsmen are killing innocent citizens and nothing is done and nobody cares. People are angry because innocent people are protesting and you send soldiers to shoot them dead. People are angry because they have seen the cost of feeding, transportation and every other thing triple and all you do as a leader is lay blame on the past. People are angry at the divisive disposition of Buhari. People are angry at the lies. People are angry at the lack of any vision. And all you can reduce it to is unfounded hate?? Tell the writer I said he is pathetic. And his pathetic state would be redeemed the day he asks Buhari what he is doing about the killer herdsmen. |
There is a cultural component to driving and road accidents. And part of that component has to do with family structures. The South East and South South have by far the lowest number of accidents and the North west has by far the highest. Bayelsa 79 vs Kaduna over 2300. I travelled from Kaduna to Kano by road a few months ago and had my mouth open in constant fear. Those drivers care little for their lives. Probably because they have no love from anyone and love nobody. In the South, family structures are closely knit, hence drivers operate with the knowledge that they have a family awaiting their return and this reflects in the relatively reduced number of road accidents |
Very common in Benin City. |
mvem:If not for the New Testament, we would have been Jews. Christ made the difference and that's we are called Christians. Anyways, muslims must admit that there is something wrong when so many muslims can pick up the Koran and turn to terrorists when le Shontoists, Buddhists, Christians & Hindus pick up theirs and never turn into terrorists. The argument that those people are not muslims is too lame and it's not helping matters. Look at how Americans, most of whom are Christians are fighting hard against Donald Trumps disposition towards muslims. Imagine if all they did was to say: Racists are not Americans. If Muslims are seriously Anti terrorism, they would march and protest against the terrorists. They'd be disgusted at the terrorists for attempting to ruin the supposed religion of peace |
But the same Koran also says kill infidels. Maybe then, all infidels are not innocent |
It's time we outlaw the snapping and uploading of dead bodies on the internet. Imagine that this is someone's parent and they are on Nairaland reading news only to see this pictures. We should be sensitive to the families of the deceased. Before things like these are made to go viral, they should first be informed. |
Nice. Can't wait for this to be a real city |
hmuhammad:So the way to teach El zazaky is lesson is to kill innocent 1000 Shiites Do you guys even have any value for life at all? |
hmuhammad:As in the license for AZura was issued by Jonathan!! Do you understand?? I want Nigeria to succeed. If PMBs success equals Nigerias success, then I wish him well. But from what we see, PMBs pursuits are at variance with Nigerias success. His actions are against the people of Nigeria. He kills innocent citizens (Shiites & Biafrans). He has caused hunger across the land. He has caused so much Division and disunity. He pursuits are at variance with Nigeria s success so I don't wish him well. |
This governor should be impeached. Or better still he should be arrested by Fulani herdsmen and taken to Futa Djallon. How can someone be so incompetent? |
hmuhammad:What the heck has PMB got to do with AZura? AZura is a private power plant that started construction 2 years before Buhari came to power. Buhari probably doesn't even know AZura exists. |
Edo State is on the verge of a major transformation. The state is soon going to experience a massive industrial surge. First it has just elected what might be The most technocratic governor in Nigeria. Second, it is the central point between the main parts of Nigeria making it the most important nodal point for all types of connecting infrastructure whether gas pipelines, road or rail! Third, the state has the highest diaspora population scattered across the globe which automatically translates to a potent force for economic transformation both in terms of capital contributions and transfer of knowledge. Finally and interestingly too, Obaseki, the current governor is one of the brains behind the Azura power plant long before he became governor. The plant would step down some power to be used at an industrial park to be built in the same axis providing 24hrs power for the park. Design for the world class park is already in place and construction would start in earnest soon. |
Buhari is back and the lies and promises are back. When Osibanjo was in power we saw action not lies and promises. We didn't hear blames rather we saw work. Buhari is back and all that work has stopped. And so in the absence of work, you have to feed the populace with lies to cover up for your indolence! |
Buhari is back and the lies have started again. 50,000 jobs in 11 blending plants?? See lies! That is 5,000 jobs per blending plant. Not even a refinery employs that number of people. A blending plant wouldn't employ more than 50 workers. Asides where are these plants located? Plus we have a fertilizer plant in Port Harcourt (Notore) and we are celebrating the importation of fertilizer from Morrocco?? When Jonathan was in power what we knew of was investments for the establishment of 3 new mega sized fertilizer plants (Dangote, Eleme & Honeywell) And why is this happening at NNPC towers? What does NNPC have to do with Agriculture. Finally, y'all remember when a call purportedly coming from Jonathan's camp was put through to the King of Morrocco just before the election? That was a scam perpetrated by the Buhari camp in collaboration with this Aboki Morroccan King. He is now being paid for the favor at the expense of Nigeria!! Like I said, Buhari is back and the lies have started again. Buhari is back and the Fulani herdsmen have started their killing spree again! |
Ambode is superb!! He is an impact oriented person with any need for media hype like his predecessor! |
The poor English of the person writing this article sef is enough to make even the most gullible take off. |
When you go around killing innocent Shiites and Biafrans, you automatically loose the moral authority to call out those killing. The problem is Government is not serious with the lives of its citizens and Buhari is in charge of the government! Rather than telling security agencies to use their dane guns to rise up to the challenge, why not do some drastic. Is it hard to select 20,000 well paid mobile police officers to be given the best training, equipped with the best communication gadgets, covered with the best protective gear and provided with high caliber weapons to tackle key crime issues in the country? If these officers are paid just 150,000 monthly, that would cost the government just N3 billion a month. If they roll in teams of 4 per vehicle on 2 shifts per day, you'll require barely 2500 vehicles. And at N10 million each, that's N25 billion. If you buy 2 helicopters per state at $2 million each, that's $140 million or N42 billion. Buy 5 surveillance drones per state(1800 drones) at $2000 each= $3.6million or N1.1 billion. Kit each officer with guns, bullet proofs, gadgets, etc at N500,000 per Officer, that's equal to N10billion. What kind of crime and killing would be able to withstand this kind of force? Everything listed here including 1 year salary for the 20,000 officers is less than 100 billion Naira. Is that too difficult to achieve in a country that had 6 trillion in budgets last year? It's a mystery that kind of thoughts that go on in the heads of our leaders! |
Nice. I'm sure this is Kura around Tida dam. Those guys in that area farm for Africa. The way they manage the little water available for the benefit of their crops is just super amazing. |
LRNZH:This is an entirely private development. Run by private money, not public money. So your notion that "Lagos"should have focused elsewhere doesn't cut it as Lagos is not focused on Eko Atlantic. Chaugory & his Southern Energyxteam are the ines focused on It. |
