PoliticsRe: Who Is More Proficient In English - Dame Jonathan Or Rita Koko Mansion ? by PapaBrowne(m): 1:37am On Mar 08, 2011
The interesting thing is that over 80% of Nigerians are not proficient in English!! These 80% include market women, wives of Okada riders, farmers, pure water sellers, recharge card sellers and real Nigerians! Funny thing is that these people who cannot speak proficient English constitute the bulk of Nigerians voters!
And you know what?? They find in Patience Jonathan, someone they can relate to!! They love her and they would vote for her husband during the elections!!

Sometimes we think speaking proficient English is a function of elitism! What we fail to realise is that while millions of graduates are roaming the streets speaking proficient English and begging for jobs, street smart entrepreneurs with little or no English proficiency run the Nigerian economy from places like Idumota, Alaba, Nnewi, Ariaria, Onitsha Main market and the likes!!

Be there in your mosquito infested environment speaking proficient English, while Dame Jonathan is in the luxury of Aso Rock with maids and servants at her beck and call attending to her in whatever language she speaks! Dame Jonathan has 2 hands, 2 legs, I brain just like you!! If you like no go find better thing to do!!

Strategic move!!! In the art of war, allowing your opponents the opportunity to underestimate your capacity is the most potent tool for a surprise attack!!!

The opposition have been going on as though they want this debate so badly. How about on that day Jonathan does to them what Fashola did to his opponents? Ribadu, Buhari and the other candidates are all not very good with the use of words, so it would definitely be an interesting debate to watch!

Gbawe:
Thank you . The guy is highly ignorant . I too had a modicum of respect for him as a moderate fan of GEJ but I see he is nothing but a decietful empty barrel - especially with the totally dishonest and downright incorrect use of Fashola , as an example, in his silly attempt to mitigate for how Jonathan has achieved nothing at all in power. That has made me lose respect for this guy no end. I challenge any Lagosian ,who knows all or most of Lagos , to make the silly statement that "Lagos has barely changed " under Fashola . They should tell us wether the complete update of western Avenue and many other major link road , ignored for decades, is a mirage . Sure more needs to be done but for anyone to say "Lagos has barely changed" , when total chaos and zero infrastructure was the norm before Fashola, is total proof that some have not only sold their soul to GEJ alone but also to deciet and the usage of blatant lies to defend arguements.
Gbawe, I do not do personality attacks, so I would ignore your rascally angst and focus on the issues!! wink
You've left me wondering further, why so many from your end have issues with simple comprehension! I started off by stating categorically that Fashola is the best performing Governor Nigeria has seen in a while! Except maybe for Donald Duke!

I shot a very genuine poser and you still fail to respond to it instead you are telling me about Western Avenue and other roads in Surulere!! These roads haven't changed the fact that Lagos is still a stench pit and that Lagosians live in some of the world's most horrid conditions!! Life in Lagos is still a gruelling experience despite all the hard work Fashola has put in!!

And thats where my point lies! It takes more than just the executive to harness the kind of trickle down development that many here are expecting from the FG! Every governing body has to be on deck!! Ask yourself why you would be calling for true federalism and at the same time be demanding that Jonathan interferes in the legislative palaver that is going on in Ogun statehuh How about the Senate President? Or the House Leader?? Isn't it more of thier responsibility than it is of the Executive??

Lets not derail this thread! The thread is about the desperation of the likes of Next newspapers as seen in the false article they published about Jonathan! The same thing they have done is the same thing you and the likes of many on here keep doing and it smacks of a very uncultured morality from those against Jonathan!! One reason I respect Buhari is he has never attacked indiscriminately any of his opponents!!

When I read you 7 reasons why Buhari may not win, I thought you were reasonable. Now I know you are just as clueless as the GEJ you support.
When did the job of awarding of contracts become the job of the legislature or the civil service? Or is it the legislature that will stop Jonathan from rigging elections? What is the stance of GEJ on the Uwais report?

It's worse for an ignorant person to refer to others as being ignorant. Why not read and comprehend his post before you jump at him!
Oh, because you find that I support GEJ, i suddenly become clueless! Don't you think you are just intolerant to other peoples veiws??
Gaskiya ne, I read his article and I know where he is coming from! Gbawe has mentioned many things that that are in the purview of the legislature and you are here talking about awarding contracts!!
Your fixation on the executive arm as the cure it all for Nigeria's problems is delusional! I used the Fashola example to prove to you guys that even after 4 years of excellent Governance, Lagos is still a stench pit!! The moral is simple- Buhari is selling his campaign on the alter of anti corruption- it would not solve the problems Nigeria is facing! Period! Structural adjustments would, not all this surface approaches he and Ribadu have presented in his manifesto!

Mr Honeric, without any disrespect intended, I give you this one advice! Read and understand more about development and the factors that enhance it!
Reading your piece, I understand automatically why you and many others would seek to support Buhari's welfarist inclination! Your knowledge is limited!

The function of any effective government worldwide bothers on Policy formulation and Regulation! The rest is usually done by competent private sector led partnerships!
Lets use the banking and telecom sector as examples. These are the two most successful sectors in the Nigerian system. Interestingly these are the two sectors where Government only engages in policy formulation and Regulation! CBN doesn't own banks, it just regulates the industry! Same with the NCC, they just develop policies that would enhance the telecom sector! These are the two most successful government agencies in the country!
But NNPC, NPA, NITEL, PHCN etc are all failures because government has a stake in them! No matter who becomes president, he cannot use a remote control to change that civil servant guy working for PHCN into a technocrat overnight!

Please Mr Honeric, again one simple advice! Read more books! Understand the factors that enhance development! Gain knowledge! You would be a much better person and your judgements would be more precise!! We need people like you to be armed with adequate knowledge so that the country would be great again!! We cannot afford a situation where promising fellas are so bereft of simple and readily available knowledge!!

Gbawe:
thank you my brother !!! I am shocked at Papabrowne's naiveness . No genuine Nigerian should be that naive. We are the people used to empty promises . We have a terribly underdeveloped nation as proof of empty promises . Let us not forget that , on paper and pledge-wise , no Government has ever appeared bad . It is the sincerity and will to implement the solutions that have always been the problem of Nigeria. The formula we Nigerians must devise to gain leaders who will have the political will to get things done will include looking at the history of our leaders!!!!! We can't just pick individuals who have been mediocre their entire career and expect miracles because they have made promises!!!

Do we never learn from the past? If his mediocre history is not bad enough , look at Jonathan's actions/inaction in office. The PIB is sinking further into obscurity everyday with millions being spent frivolously by those expected to do solid groundwork towards it expedited passage into law. No Sovereign wealth Fund many months after $1 billion was withdrawn from the ECA , as seed fund, for its inception. My brother , if everyone involved is on the same page of integrity and goodwill, why is the Sovereign wealth bill taking so long? How about electoral reforms? Two presidents (Yar Adua and GEJ ) have seen the Uwais panel recommendation that electoral offenders be punished and disqualified as a powerful deterrent against election rigging. What did Yar Adua do if not sanction the rigging of Oni back into power ? what has Jonathan done if not assist election rigging with how he worked for Uduaghans re-election?  Is this the unacceptably slow and decietful pace we can expect from the GEJ Government if it gets 4 years? Now that they should have a point to prove , towards winning our votes,  they are unacceptably slow and incompetent . How will they become when they have 4 certain years?

Even the privatisation promise Papabrowne hinges his blind support on is already looking fraudulent with how it has already been diluted with insincerity as we are now seeing a regression towards the past with the FEC now doing a U-turn by awarding power contract when the same FEC had previously stopped all spending on power till a holistic privatisation roadmap , backed by law , is in place !!!How much more insincerity and blatantly duplicitous actions do folks like Papabrowne need to see before they realise GEJ is no different to past leaders who made promises they had no intentions of keeping?
Without wanting to sound arrogant, it is easy for any reader to decipher btw me and you, who the naive one is!! Reread what you've just written and you will find that much of what you've placed at the desk of the executive actually belongs to the legislature!!

And these are some of the problems I keep stressing that many Nigerians, yourself inclusive, by virtue of a lack of qualitative reasoning are failing to see!! I used the Fashola example to bring out a very candid point but you've chosen to ignore it!! Fashola is the best public servant of this dispensation, but after 4 years of Governance, lagosians are still experiencing grinding poverty, gutter type quality of living and the cheapest value for life you can find anywhere in the world!! The reason is that the work of development is collective and is the responsibility of all and sundry!! Fashola, just like Jonathan cannot solve many of the problems we are expecting them to solve!
The Ezekwesili article brought out some salient points and I wish you have the capacity to understand what she has written in that article.

Governance is a function of different arms! There is the executive, the legislature and the civil service!! Stop blaming the executive for what the legislature is failing to do!!

And what is the reform that you're talking about?

As long as it's PDP, it's a meat trap for the gullible.

$16billion still fresh in our memories.
It is PDP government that gave us mobile phones and internet penetration!!
When PDP came into power, we had 400,000 phone lines! Today we have 85 million lines.
Our internet penetration is better than India, Mexico and Indonesia

All they did was to privatize the damn thing!! Today we have Glo and Mainone building world class undersea-fiber optic-broadband cables worth billions in dollars and we are already beginning to see the benefit!! Privatize the damn thing and our problems would be history!!

And thats exactly what Jonathan's power sector roadmap would bring!!!!!

PoliticsMimiko's Labour Party: Acn Is A Party Of Deception by PapaBrowne(op): 9:41am On Mar 07, 2011
LP: ACN, a party of deception

THE brickbats between the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and the ruling Labour Party (LP) in Ondo State, which came to the open at the weekend, continued yesterday.

Leaders of both parties in the Sunshine State further launched verbal attacks at themselves following last weekend’s blasting of Governor Olusegun Mimiko by the National Chairman of the ACN, Chief Bisi Akande, former governor of Lagos State and party chieftain, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as well as other leaders of the ACN.

The ACN leaders first attacked Mimiko and the LP at the campaign of its presidential candidate, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, which was held in Akure, the state capital, describing the LP as a worst political party than the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The crisis, the Nigerian Compass learnt was, as a result of Mimiko’s refusal to decamp to the ACN and the decision of the national leadership of LP to work for the presidential aspiration of President Goodluck Jonathan instead of that of Ribadu.

But reacting yesterday, the Deputy National Chairman of LP, Dr. Joseph Akinlaja, and the Publicly Secretary of the party in the state, Mr. Femi Okunjemiruwa, described members of the ACN as “fake progressives trying to lord in over other political parties”.

According to Akinlaja, the actions of Mimiko since he became the governor had portrayed him as a progressive, adding that his achievements, appointments and programmes showed him as one of the leading lights in the progressive camp.

His words: “We saw the PDP when we formed the LP. I was from the UPN (Unity Party of Nigeria) to AD (Alliance for Democracy) and the LP. I am a progressive. I am on the left. If you see what Iroko (Mimiko) did, you will know he is a progressive.

“This is a person who had N1.4 billion, instead of using it to dredge a canal and collect 20 per cent from contractors and become a billionaire, he said no and used the money to pay pensioners.

“He has the largest political appointees, yet he pays their entitlements. Other governments awarded contracts with the intention of getting percentage. Progressivism is not by word of mouth, it is matter of character.”

Akinlaja said they would not join issues with Tinubu and his ilk because they were in the state to canvass for votes, which, he vowed, they would not get as the people of the state have decided to remain in the LP.

“Even when we did not have a councillor, people decamped from the PDP to the LP. People stood beside us during the election and waited during the tribunal. So, the ACN people were just making noise, which ordinarily will not translate to votes,” he added.

Similarly, Okunjemiruwa said the “ACN is a deceptive party” with no progressive credentials, adding that the party leaders are fond of dropping names of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, as well as the late Chiefs Adekunle Ajasin and Adebayo Adefarati without any likeness for them.

According to him, the ACN governors and leaders have not brought any tangible development to their states, as “they only struggled to get to political offices in order to corner the wealth of the states where they rule, which Mimiko has denied them”.

Okunjemiruwa said there has been paradigm shift in governance since Mimiko came into office two years ago with monumental projects executed for the benefit of the people.

But, the ACN Chairman in the state and daughter of the late Ajasin, Mrs. Jumoke Anifowose, and her predecessor, Comrade Sola Iji, said the two years of Mimiko’s administration had been a waste and colossal failure.

She said: “If it was an Action Congress of Nigeria government that was in place with the kind of money coming into the state, we would have progressed further than what this government has done. We would have done a lot for the people there and there won’t be poverty in the state.

“Our government will not be a government of okada riders, it won’t be a government just for the sake of wanting to copy Lagos State, trying to build certain structures which are not beneficial to the people of the state, like the abandoned Dome. I cannot think of any use of it.

“Furthermore, why building mega schools, when you can use the money to refurbish and rehabilitate all the schools around and the pupils will have a serene atmosphere to study?”

Mrs. Anifowose said the insinuations about a working agreement between the ACN and the LP came about “when Mimiko was fighting for his mandate and he got some support from the ACN leaders and when he got to the office, he appointed about two of the members.

“It is ACN’s principle or ideology that the conservatives must be removed from power. The PDP at that period was ruling Ondo State and we gave our support to the LP in order to sweep away the PDP,” she added.

Iji said they were not surprised with the conduct of Mimiko “because he has shown his inconsistency and unfaithfulness to those who helped him to get to power”.

He insisted that the LP and its leaders are worst than the PDP, adding: “Mimiko foisted candidates on his party. The list of delegates was changed overnight in order to frustrate the ambitions of some people”.

Iji, who was the ACN chairman when the LP was in the trenches, said they were not surprised with the conduct of Mimiko, as “he does not have political integrity; he betrayed Adefarati who appointed him as Commissioner for Health, when he did not deserve it. He took the man court and later decamped to the PDP.

“Agagu rehabilitated him by making him the Secretary to the Government despite the fact that he did not start the party with them. Again, he worked against the ambition of the man with impunity.

“When Chief Olusegun Obasanjo made him a Minister, he betrayed him. He did not do anything than to sell government properties to himself and cronies. We are not surprised at all with his character.”

At the rally, which was witnessed by a mammoth crowd, the leaders of ACN, including Akande, Tinubu, Governors Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State and Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State disowned Mimiko and the LP as members of progressive platform.

According to Akande, Mimiko came to them when he needed assistance during the battle to reclaim his mandate, but deserted them almost immediately after he got to the office.

Said Akande: “We are not members of LP. It was when the LP had problems that we helped them. The LP is part of the PDP. We actually supported them but now, the LP is the toilet of the PDP. The LP is closest to the PDP. The only way you can get good government is through the ACN.”

U are right I aint voting in April but let me share with you how me and my 4 friends spent our weekend.

We were at the Heathrow Airport as early as 5 a.m on Friday armed with handbill list of projects executed by Buhari's PTF and by his Military administration. Most of Nigerians travelling back to NIgeria and registered voters and guess what? Most of them already have a new BB 2011 'contract' . We joyfully distributed d handbill begging them to influence 'locked' and overly 'sentimental' minds like u. It was a big success considering the obvious religious inclinations of most of the travellers.

By 10 o clock today we continued our gospel of change at the Airport winning even more converts and meeting more BB fanatics. The most relishing part of it is that most of them are not only registered voters but they have also been following all the atrocities of most clueless, most confused, most incompetent, most dishonest, and above all the dullest president Nigeria has ever produced.

BB 2011 is a phenomenal movement of change that cannot be stopped anywhere in Naija. We are determined to rid this nation of corruption, the perpetrators and beneficiaries. We have resolved to bring dignity back to Aso Rock. We are remain unshakable in our match to victory in April. 100000000 of Jonathans with Police cannot stop us (as we ave demonstrated in Lokoja), in fact plus his corrupt/killing/looting mentors: OBJ/IBB/Ciroma/Atiku they shall all be swept away by the powerful wind of change.,.,.,

I like the spirit of the BB campaign team on the internet! Sometimes I almost get tempted until their very violent nature springs up! I almost got tempted with your post above until the violence started spilling out slowly as seen below!!

One thing you should note is that for every BB supporter, there are as many or even much much more GEJ supporters! The problem is that eventually when Buhari loses in a free and fair election come April, you guys are going to be causing trouble everywhere!! Eschew the militant disposition! We are going into an election where we have three very popular candidates! Only one person is going to win and the reality on ground suggests that that person is not your candidate! Prepare your minds for the eventuality of a loss!!

Gbawe, this thing is about power! Everybody wants the Job!! Jonathan wants to retain his Job, Ribadu wants his job, Buhari wants his Job and all the progressives and regressives want to at least have a free pass to the seat of power!!  And that is understandable! But it is very uncultured when for the sake of power, folks loose every sense of ethical rectitute like 234next has just done here! It is completely distasteful especially when it is coming from a respected journal like 234next! The saddest part is that Nigerians are a gullible bunch and would beileve any gibberish!!

I have noted time without number that I support Jonathan for very simple reasons! Power Road map and pro private sector policy!  I have gone past the stage of expecting a lot from any Government!
Just an example- Fashola is the greatest Governor in this era and he has probably done his best! But truth is Lagos has barely changed! The grinding poverty is still the order of the day in Lagos! Lagos is still one of the filthiest places in the world! Life is still so cheap in Lagos! And all this is after four years of the best Governor the country has seen in recent times!
That tells me something- For change to come to a society, it is not just fighting corruption that would bring that change! It is actually the change in the hearts of the people that is most critical for development!  Buhari and Ribadu are selling their campaigns on fighting corruption and that surely doesn't cut it for me!
Anybody expecting his candidate to change Nigeria in 4 years is living in a monkeys paradise!! We should be more realistic and objective in our expectations!!

ACN's victory in the south west benefits Jonathan massively!! The Jonathan Ticket has only one challenge in this election! That challenge is preventing Buhari and his CPC machine from getting 25% of votes in the south west!! If ACN can get majority of the votes here, then Buhari's hopes for victory would be null and void!!

So as much as possible PDPs campaign strategy right now is to energize the ACN to campaign vigorously in the south west!! And it appears to be working just fine!!

Since you've spent your entire life in the U.S what gives you the confident impression on the way Nigeria practices christianity? If even on Niaraland here, there are so many that don't believe in Miracles, isn't that enough proof that its not necessarily the large majority of Nigerians that believe in Miracles?

Don't get me wrong- Nigerians can be very blindly religious and I know that for a fact! Many people are milking millions from the gullibility and desperation of Nigerians! Same goes for the US and many other advanced countries! Fact is anywhere there are more intractible problems, there is bound to be greater need for supernatural solutions! That doesn't in anyway automatically convert every miracle pastor into a fraud!! If the book he lives by(Bible) allows for the belief in miracles and he follows it accordingly, why should he be accused for perpertuating fraud?

Many times, in a bid to feel intelligent, we tend to follow what is politically correct without utilizing our thoughts to arrive at our own conclusions!!

The vast majority of the members of the National Academy of Science are atheists. And yes, not believing in God is a sign of superior intelligence/sophistication

And, in response to the pew research you quoted, why arent Americans taking their sick to their pastors? Of course Americans, like the rest of the world, believe in miracles, but not just the kind that makes people walk after years of paralysis.
Truly, I'm not a fan of closemindedness! You are asking why Americans aren't taking their sick to pastorshuh But there are numerous videos on the internet with miracle crusades in America! Can't you just do a google search??  I have just watched a video of this same pastor Chris in Canada with loads of Canadians many of whom came to seek healing!!

On the vast majority of scientists being atheists, there is something I call Circular Path theory of knowledge! The deeper you get into certain kinds of knowledge, the less your capacity for rational reasoning! Thats exactly why you find so many scientists as atheists! Also, the field of science is designed to discourage any reasoning beyond the physical! Every scientist is trained in that direction! Then again, what of the percentage of scientists that aren't atheists??

Americans might believe in miracles, but it doesn't dominate their daily life or even just spiritual lives. Most of my early years were spent in a white American church. Their approach to religion is quite different. Less focused on the supernatural.
The white American church you spent your early years at could as well be an exception!! The crowds at the Benny Hinn crusades are they Nigerians??
And who said Miracles dominate the daily lives of Nigerians?? People usually seek miracles when a solution is beyond reach! As such it is natural for more Africans to seek miracles because they have a greater number of situations where solutions are beyond reach! Americans with unsolvable problems do seek miracles same as Nigerians with unsolvable problems.

I have lived in America and I have lived in Europe. Americans believe very well in miracles! Its Europeans that don't care for miracles!

If you spend your time analysing qualitative data, you would naturally become very open minded to various possibilities because you would come across information that is beyond human comprehension!! Miracles are just one of them!

I watched the video carefully with objectivity and without bias!!

I have three conclusions!

1) If these were fake, there is no way the crowds would keep coming!! Frauds don't last! Surely, those following him are gaining loads from him in some way hence they keep following him! I did a youtube search and found that these crowds follow him everywhere! I saw videos of the Pastor in Canada, UK and a host of other countries with similar crowds and similar occurences!! So it doesn't seem limited to Nigeria!

2)The crowd in the video don 't look like they are hungry! They all look well fed and well dressed! From that I assume they are very well educated middle class folks who are capable to discern for themselves whether or not these are real. They all seemed to get extremely excited after the girl stood up! They probably knew something about the girl that we don't know. They probably knew she was pretty sick and couldn't stand!! If she couldn't stand before and all of a sudden she is jumping, then surely that is supernatural!

3) To those saying poverty and the rest are responsible for this, I think you are just narrowminded and seeking an identity! America, which is and has been the richest and most advanced country in the world is still the epicenter of these kinds of gatherings!!
A pewresearch report confirmed that that 80% of Americans believe in miracles!!
You can check it out on the link!
http://abcnews.go.com/WN/miracles-world-news-question-day/story?id=9908545

So to those insulting others for believing, don't think that not believing in miracles makes you more sophisticated in any way! You are actually just closeminded! One of the key characteristics of intelligence is open mindedness!!

aletheia:
The basis for your expectation of a runoff is flawed because it is based on the erroneous belief that for a candidate to win he must have 51% of the total votes. All he needs do is have more votes than the next candidate --- even if it is just 100,000 votes --- provided he has the required spread of at least a quarter in two-thirds of the states. You can easily confirm this by referring to the provisions of the constitution and historical antecedents: in 1979, NPN won with 33.7% of the total votes and in 83 with 47.5% of the total votes.
Secondly, you assume that in the unlikely event of a runoff, ACN will enter into alliance with CPC. Nothing stops them from going into an alliance with PDP instead.

By failing to reach out to the NC, SS and SE, Buhari has lost the elections.
Ok! So the 51% is not required in Nigerian elections righthuh Nice!! That means the election is GEJs to loose!!! I thought that applies! Sorry!
PoliticsRe: Bb Rally In Port Harcourt. Any Update? by PapaBrowne(m): 9:32pm On Mar 05, 2011
Ok, let me reveal a secret that the Buhari/Bakare Ticket can do little about!!

Imagine this scenario: PDP agents go around the poverty ravaged villages of the North West offering 3000 Naira each for voters registration cards!! They buy up 4 million cards at just about 12 billion naira only!! Take them to the bush and burn them all up!! Whatcha all BB fans gonna do about that??

Ok just joking!! The moral here is that money should not be underestimated for its ability to influence rural votes!!

Papabrowne

while most GEJ supporters are giving him arm chair support, some of us in the  Buhari Camp have built excel models looking at the current situation (Nigerian economy, politics, infrastructure after 12 years of pdp), sentiments (pro-zoning in the North) to project what will happen in 2011 elections using the 2003 elections as bench mark, at least more credible than 2007 elections which 3 out of 7 supreme court judges ruled Buhari won!

see the attachment
the result shows there will be no clear winner!
Nice excel document!! Respect!! And I have mentioned before that the way the Buhari online supporters are going about their campaign is pretty impressive!

However, the postulations in the document are predicated on wishful thinking! What is the basis for the assumption that Buhari would score 13% in the south east and Ribadu will score 23%?? How did you come about giving Ribadu 18% of the votes in the south south and and Buhari 13%huh
This is not realistic, you know that right? Buhari scored less than 5% in 2003 despite the fact that he had a south Easterner as his vice, talkless of now when you have no Easterner on the ticket of both ACN and CPC! These postulations are just wishful!

Ok, another one! On what basis do you project that the CPC would win Benue state?? That is the height of wishful deception! You give CPC 46% of the votes in Benue?? Except you are not aware that Benue state is the most Southernly state of all the Northern states with almost 100% christian population! The postulation didn't even take into consideration the anger faced by Northern Christians as a result iof the Jos crisis!

Despite the wishful postulations, we still have Jonathan on 40%! If you adjust to reality and add other variables like party structure and rural votes, financial inducements and incubency factor, you would see that even that 51% would not be too much of a hard task for the Jonathan camp!!

Also look at the poster the child directly in front of the camera is holding: BOWLER HAT!!!

Looks once again like GEJ supporters been caught in a freakn lie!
The picture is snapped today at the Buhari rally! The pictures you see in the posters with bowler hats are candidates of CPC from Rivers state!
This picture and others are available on the Buhari website!!

It will be interesting to see what happens in Delta state
Delta state?? Is that wishful thinkinghuh Many people there don't even know that Buhari is contesting!!
Delta is a landslide for GEJ!!

Genbuhari3:
How many votes dey south south, south east compared to north west? North west is 19.8 million, north east is 10 million. south and south east combined is 15 million undecided the rally in port harcourt is just to get some votes to compliment what will come from the north and south west!

at least there was no stampede like GEJ's own rally there.

the beauty of the rally was AIT showing it live, and for the first time, we had Tunde Bakare showing his courage in criticing Jonathan on his ground! and so many Nigerians watched his inspiring speech!

that is all, we move to North East!
This is the problem Buhari will face at the polls!! He will win the North west by a landslide!! But GEJ will get at least a 40% of the votes in Kaduna and they will come from few Sambo supporters,Christains in Kaduna south and the numerous southerners residing in Kaduna!
Buhari might win Kano, but Shekarau will get at least 40% of the votes there! Now lets not forget also that there are so many Igbo residing in Sabon Gari, Kano and they will be voting enmasse for Jonathan!
In the North East, GEJ wins Taraba and gets at least 30-40% in Adamawa! Buhari shares the rest of Adamawa with Ribadu who hails from there! Borno and Yobe are ANPP strongholds, so we will see Shekarau poulling a strong showing there!
The North Central goes for GEJ without contest! Benue, Plateau, Kogi, Kwara and and a good number from Niger and Nasarawa will go to Jonathan!

In the south west Buhari will struggle for 25% in most of the states because it is a three way show where ACN and PDP are very strong!!

The big problem is that in the south south and south east, buhari gets nothing! 11 states without 25% is bad news by any count!

The only problem Jonathan would face in this election is getting the required 51%!! He will win the total vote count, he will get the requited 255 spread but he might have it hard getting the 51%!
PoliticsRe: Bb Rally In Port Harcourt. Any Update? by PapaBrowne(m): 4:19pm On Mar 05, 2011
The crowd was so appalling! Buhari can only pull crowds in the thickest of the North West!!

Below are pictures from the rally in Nigeria's second largest city!!!

Jonathan at least pulls a sizeable crowd in the North!! But Buhari couldn't even get 1000 in Nigeria's second largest city!!

Children are the ones carrying placards but they surely wouldn't be voting on election day!!

PoliticsSharia: Coming To A Town Near You! by PapaBrowne(op): 5:22pm On Mar 04, 2011
These are the words of Buhari on Red Marble!!!

Lagos - A former military ruler of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has called for the introduction of 'total' Islamic law across the country, reports said on Monday.

Buhari, who ruled Nigeria from a coup in December 1983 to his ouster in 1985, told a seminar in Kaduna, northern Nigeria, at the weekend that the strict Islamic law code known as the Sharia should be introduced in full across Nigeria.
"I will continue to show openly and inside me the total commitment to the Sharia movement that is sweeping all over Nigeria," Buhari said, quoted in press reports.

"God willing, we will not stop the agitation for the total implementation of the Sharia in the country," Buhari said.

The comments are the second by Buhari that have courted controversy after he called earlier this year for Muslims to vote at the next presidential elections only for someone who would defend their faith.

Buhari made the latest comments at a seminar organised by the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria, a newly set up body attended by northern state governments and Islamic scholars.
"It is a legal responsibility which God has given us, within the context of one Nigeria, to continue to uphold the practice of Sharia wholeheartedly ,  and to educate non-Muslims that they have nothing to fear," he said.
"What remains for Muslims in Nigeria is for them to redouble their efforts, educate Muslims on the need to promote the full implementation of Sharia law," he went on. - AFP
