This is gossip. Stop spreading online gossip ![]() |
designking:This is a naive comment and disturbing trend since the last elections. NTA is also a fault finder ![]() The press can be your friend but if you are not careful, they will press your neck when it is time. |
GOFRONT:Tinubu called his name "Dave" as part of his team when they were launching Lagos-Calabar. What else do you need to know you are part of the cabinet ![]() |
I am fearful of commenting because most of what we have on social media is half truths. We usually don't know the full context of the stories, someone just takes 1 picture and circulates it. How do we know the beginning and end How do we know if this what this pilgrim requested How are we sure they are not halfway How do we know this is what everyone else had I hate it when you bring a video, picture or half story and turn us to gossip mills. |
Pussyisgud:Please allow it. Celebrate all the moments of life. When else should he be celebrated When he is injured, dead or retired? If an European did what Lookman did, they will write so much about him that you will not hear anything for 1 year. He is not useful to them so what will motivate them He belongs to us so let us celebrate his wins. The hype will either make him do better or he will underperform. That is his choice to then make. His name is etched in gold for that club. go and see what the Portuguese club wrote about Yekini (O Deus Negro [the Black god] as he was called in Portugal) while we treated him like he wasn't a legend and sane. Enyeama only came to save penalty kicks for Enyimba in the CAF final but he was celebrated more than Dele Ayenugba sef. That gave Enyeama his chance and he decided to keep going. Even Ayegbeni is often abused because he missed that seater but the stats speak for him and the English rate him. So if Nigerians who can treat you trash start to celebrate you, please let it go on. We need to learn to do better because it is not easy abroad, home love helps you. Check Mo Salah too, the Egyptians know he is their ambassador and celebrate him.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15JVF9zkgys?feature=shared Michael Owen was hyped like anything, Beckham and English players that went out, they celebrate their own. Why should life be difficult or impossible before we now celebrate him Di Matteo won the UCL for Chelsea first time, a feat Mourinho could not see happen at Chelsea, Di Mateo may never achieve again and many coaches have been trying to do but never did, eg Wenger. Life is short my friend, enjoy the moments. He exceeded expectations and there is no cup final anywhere in the world where a player scores more than 1 goal and in this case, a hatrick and you say we are overhyping. To add an icing to the cake, he did this against a club that was unbeaten throughout the season, what better director could have written such fantasy script
|
Ejiakusmith:It is not their fault, it is the social media ecosystem where they post a clip or image without context, so everyone starts to create a proof of concept and the comment section is lit. Nairaland is the comment section. Movie directors are reading for ideas to use on their next movie production. People like to gossip and it helps us waste our time on the internet when they push half baked stories for us to figure out who is who, what is what and where is where ![]() |
That's the first test of her marriage. He will have women flaunt themsleves on him, what can you do about it What can he do about it![]()

RickyJesus:Ricky, it's okay, you can disagree with me. I don't want to sound like I am impossible but the day I met this chap from Syria, I thought Nigeria was a wonder. I spoke to my friend from Colombia and I had a different perspective on life. Now don't get me wrong, I don't want to give you the worst comparisons but I have spoken to some people who came from the U.S. to find wetin no lost for here. What am I trying to say We are not the worst and hell yeah, we could damn right get a better Nigeria but man is a social animal and messages of hope is what keeps us going. It is what has held Nigeria for so long, Nigeria go beta. You know how we take in all the insults our politicians dish at us that make us look like mumus Hope is what keeps us going, or else, people will stop playing this life game and unalive themselves.About the motivational scam, it is what I said in my last mesaage. Take what you want and do your own thing. People expecting their leaders to be 100% saints are not facing reality. On social media, people are calling out those people abroad preaching financial independence and how I got rich. Some people see through the scam, some other people take what they find useful and let the player keep acting. They don't waste their time blaming the player, they play the game. That's what I meant in my last message. There's a perception that most religious leaders are scammers but I choose to focus on what this man has done. I will skip watching him preach to his congregation but if the program I am watching on TV brings him to talk, he is able to talk about issues sensibly without calling you to Christ. That is someone who can connect to a lot of people. Many Pastors cannot do that today. Again, if he is able to have his church run without him, that's not something common among Nigerian pastors. It means he has built an institution that can run whether he is there or not. So if he chooses to go hustle in US and what he created back home is doing well on its own then I commend him.

Both Achebe and Soyinka were good, it's so sad to see how you people have been so divided. I am against Soyinka's political hypocrisy but I cannot deny his literary works because of that. Saying Achebe wanted to be like Soyinka is like saying Venus was jealous of Serena. Didn't Achebe lecture in the U.S. Don't let politics make you foolish. Both of them are Nigerian legends and you can disagree with them. When Achebe said and wrote There Was A Country, they came for his head. Today, Soyinka is attacking Obi and he is receiving the heat. Literature professors are not shy to be attacked and I am sure WS is getting the feedback loud and clear. He is a biased person in this topic because his friend is now President and it is glaring. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y07Ulyog4NM?feature=shared |
My best part of the video is how he gave the Professor the similie of his own fraternity and Obi's obidient. That was an own goal. You cannot control the Pirates but you can blame Obi for not reigning in the Obidients ![]() The man died |
I am not a member of Daystar but I prefer him spreading good messages from Zoom than bad bad messages diaspora people do using internet and social platforms. The problem with Nigerians is that they always want a savior, what's my business if he japa Are you him Must he live your life Don't you have fathers brothers, uncles and friends to live up to Why must you use someone's life as your own Take his message and live your own life. The internet of today allows us to listen to motivational talks from Indians, Peruvians, Congolese and Russians. Some people still want to listen to that message and a King is sometimes not recognized in his village, so he must go out. His messages of hope are better than those of you who are filled with hate and negativity. Some people say who motivation epp? Who sadness and hate epp Some people enjoy it so if sadness makes you happy, stay there. I have listened to this man on TV a couple of times and he talks sensibly. |
Are people aware this woman is the wife of a governor ![]() https://www.nairaland.com/6506619/governor-buni-weds-gumsu-abacha

Ojo Maduekwe was popular for his time. Two time Minister and strong in PDP. I don't believe in recording everything so I am happy we did not see video of his crash As per Olympics, they are not too old. Their fathers still go to farm in the village as a way of keeping fit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfgwDF2SbyE?feature=shared https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYC4lx4y2so?feature=shared

blowjohn:Maybe, maybe not. I think as a lawyer, he is learned enough to talk to his medical advisors before he does this. As an old man, I think he is also wise enough with plenty experiences. Maybe he wants to be like Japanese elders who are fit, he doesn't need to follow the same path which make older people weak because they are not using their energies. I don't think Amaechi is doing this for publicity, it's the camera that brought him to us. Do you remember Ojo Maduekwe He wanted Nigerians to ride bikes more but he had a bike accident in Abuja. He was Transport Minister. |
blowjohn:You cannot satisfy human beings. Amaechi talk, problem. Amaechi no talk, problem. Amaechi runs, problem. Amaechi does not run, problem.. Amaechi ran at the stadium last time with cameras around him. Now he is running in peace, maybe on Bourdillon while the Bourdillon resident has ran to Abuja and running Nigeria. Let everyone run in peace. He may be running away from the Rivers of trouble but he didn't invite any cameras, he just wants to run in peace and last time he came out, he said his advisors told him not to talk to the media.

AbaganaMiracle:Every serious country celebrates culture because it is part of national identity. Name 1 serious country and I will give you 2 examples of the cesspit people there are celebrating. Do you think it is technology Biafra will be celebrating everyday ![]()

Exousiang01:Do you know that in your first paragraph, I posted something similar few weeks ago on another topic on NL When I was posting this topic, I remembered it but I have seen that even if you are intellectual, I cannot learn from you since you have assumed my tribe. Again, what has my tribe got to do with the topic You guys make Nairaland tiring and whether you are Masai, Hausa or Yoruba, once you write your last few paragraphs, I have no respect for you because you are not different than the people you think you are correcting. The most dangerous thing in life is to assume, the second most dangerous thing is to be blinded by bias. You are a blind man walking when you do the 2 because you will learn nothing and teach nothing. This was my comment on the other post but I will not engage with you again since out of the mind comes the words you speak and write https://www.nairaland.com/8058908/kwankwaso-knelt-down-while-greeting#129392868 papyjaypaul: |
Exousiang01:Ex-President Obasanjo is older than Mr Buhari. |
justmondris:The person you quoted has forgotten that some books are banned in Nigeria. If you think it is old school, when you go through immigration and they catch you with the material, you will remember the law. Not all novels are legal, even if is an ebook |
SmartyPants:Indian movies and any foreign movie scene that has smoking must have the smoking kills message added to it.

The only record of President Buhari bowing was at the National Assembly after presenting the budget, a tradition President Jonathan gave Okonjo-Iweala to perform on his behalf
|
brain54:This was what I thought too. He respects him so much and he must have forgotten about it for a moment. That picture was not on The Presidency's release but guess who Nigerian Tribune cited as source ![]() And I don't need to ask why Tribune put it on their front page. For the records. |
In the U.S., the President receives flak when he bows. Nigeria is copying the US Presidential form of government ![]()
|
Presdient Jonathan was criticised for these pictures when he went on pilgrimage and when he was campaigning for re election. Those who criticized him said he maybe forgot he is representing Nigeria and not himself as GCFR. Who does the GCFR bow to ![]()

Two days ago, there was a topic here on a visit by Alhaji Dantata to the President. nairalandkachy1:I saw the pictures posted and people were surprised on how the billionaire was tall Today, I saw this picture. Is it okay for the President to bow to an individual I want those who understand protocol to comment. I know it will be impossible to avoid those who only think about politics, those who don't like President Tinubu and those who like him to death. Are we following protocol If anyone has a picture of Buhari bowing, I will like to see it. Is this culture or tradition?Where do we draw the line? If Nigeria has a young President at age 30, does he bow or we will say he is rude nlfpmod

They should have done this a long time ago. I never knew there waa a guy called ogbt or ogtv cultist until I watched an episode and the things he said was so.sad, I was wondering how that was skit. I have never been a fan of the macaroni spaghetti boy because comedy is hard work, it is not sexualising women or using women as content. Youth of today believe they must do crazy thingsfor content and the algorithm will reward them because it is better to have the black man knacking, doing sports, entertainment, crime, betting than what will rescue them from their captivity I don't blame the young people because they don't know better, I blame the old people who have not only destroyed the nation but have no examples, legacies and lessons to pass to the young. If they take over politics, leadership and every thing, at least, pass good morals to the next generation.

Father Pete Edochie Even USA commiserated with their sworn enemy, Iran when their President died in the crash
|
This was how PDP lost. Their chairman said something like this after they won the election that they will rule for 60 years. The rest is history. Abacha was supposed to lead us into the millenium. Yar Adua did not finish is 7 point agenda. Obasanjo did not have enough time, he wanted 3rd term. Gowon was doing 3Rs when they replaced him. They never learn
|
passion007:Most of those defenders were bought. They are hungry. Some of them who are well traveled and exposed are also hungry because man mus chop. That is their survival strategy to be a political asslicker even in the face of truth. I don't waste my time with them because they have sold their soul for mula. It is just very insensitive how the politicians behave but this is my message to politicians, you can buy some people all the time, you can't buy all the people all the time. |
