Politics › Re: Criticize President Buhari: Don't Insult Him by pasol4real(m): 11:07am On Mar 28, 2020
Kayceenaz:
It is becoming almost second nature for most Nigerians, both the educated and non-educated classes, to cross the line while pouring out their hearts on national issues. I agree, there are ample question marks on how the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has acted on and reacted to socio-political, economic, and religious matters; spanning from federal character, insurgency, ethno-religious skirmishes, education, malfeasance, to now presidential invisibility before this coronavirus pandemic.

Naturally, we feel betrayed, used, and insignificant to the presidency. Not paling in comparison to status-quo that should be, your feelings are indeed valid. But letting this emotional pain lead you to hurl insults of all sorts at President Buhari, as rampant online, is an overreaction. As you call him unprintable, reprehensible names and ridicule him through jokes/memes, remember he is fallible, someone's husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and holds office of President of Nigeria. It is enough to beg to differ with and criticize constructively his leadership style plus policies. Using constitutional and moral means to show displeasure are in order. Look emotional intelligence's way.

Disturbingly, some people even wish Buhari death, hoping news of his demise filters in soonest. If that's not a representation of the Scriptures' observation that "The heart of man is desperately wicked," then it must be of something worse. If you fall in this category, kindly stop now! Such comments are humor taken too far.

As events unfold and we watch with disappointment, anticipating the National Assembly does the needful and saves the day, let us (Nigerians) amplify our voices to be critically loud enough, not insulting enough.

Anambra is by far more functional
No chaos, no hold ups , good roads , good water systems, salaries of workers gets paid on the 25 th of every month or earlier. I can go on n on, Unlike Lagos that is bedeviled with potholes n bad roads, traffic, confusion , chaos, a journey of 10 minutes takes 2 hours. Dirty n polluted environments . I can go on n on

Great

With this, risk factors have been reduced to the minimum level.

Lagos seems to be getting it right with her choice of leaders.

Always snowballing ahead of the country.

Jakande did it with housing and efforts towards railway

Tinubu did it with Local Government creation, power and sport facility

Fashola did it in tackling Ebola, in housing, in water, primary health care, education, BRT, security, Free Trade Zones, etc

Ambode did it in building bridges

Sanwo-Olu has started his own as well
Pls keep quiet
All these except fashola n jakande were failures.
Even the best governor Lagos ever had was not mentioned by you ( maruwa), which just goes to show how tribalistic you are.
As for sanwo olu, his performance has been so poor, though it’s still too early to judge

Summary:
Overambitious APC politicians should stop attempting to do 2023 business in 2020 as it is even less than a year since Pres. Buhari was inaugurated for 2nd term. Rather, every APC members should rally round to help Pres. Buhari tackle the many pressing national issues, which have increased with anticipated social and economic effects of COVID-19 pandemic. If Pres. Buhari is not helped to deliver on APC promises, it will be difficult for anybody to even win presidential election on APC platform in 2023. #FACTS

Politics › Re: Senators That Sponsored Three Controversial Bills In Nigeria by pasol4real(m): 2:13pm On Mar 13, 2020
slimfit1:
Generator bill is the only sensible one there. To develop we need to take drastic action taken otherwise 10years from now we will be having the same problem.
We have a few years before countries stop combustion engine production. European countries will stop producing generators. But the countries producing them don't use it. They are going to use the financial opportunity of these to weak our chances of developing our energy so that we keep depending on them.
We can spend money on other sources of energy like solar, there are intelligent Nigerians out there developing better cheap sources of energy we are not supporting. States are supposed to spend money on research and installation of solar in schools and hospitals. We should look at noise pollution and air pollution these generators cause and the health impacts in our lives.

FFK has money to fly to UK for care do we all have that NO. My argument might not make sense now but look at the future opportunity.
Don’t make me insult you this afternoon

This is clearly the handiwork of the cabals.
We keep telling them that Tinubu wud never come near the presidency but they refuse to listen. Any one who calls himself a follower of the Nigerian politics and yet doesn’t understand that this is the ” onnoghen removal” tactics playing out again, is still a learner. They know fully well that with oshomhole at the helms of affairs in apc, Tinubu has a chance, hence the plot to remove him (osho)and install someone loyal to them ( cabal). The handwriting is clear, osho may appear as the victim here but truth is the real victim n target here is no one but Tinubu.

Politics › Re: 22-Year-Old Ojukwu And His Aunty, Winifred, On His Return From Oxford In 1955 by pasol4real(m): 11:08am On Mar 06, 2020
Witcher:
Ojukwu, The Coward Secessionist-

Dimka Odumegwu Ojukwu of Biafra-Biafaa or Bia-Kpara, Ogoni version! With due respect to reasonable Igbos and the public. It isn't proper to rejoice over anyone's death. I'm also not doing so, rather pointing to the man Ojukwu. I hope readers would understand my truth that can be found through history and can't be disproved otherwise.

Ojukwu, who was good in his own right couldn't stand Ken Saro-Wiwa and his truth about Ogoni-saving our people from Biafra and Ojukwu's madness and greed (popularly known as Nigerian-Biafran Civil War, 1967-1970), was the number one coward.

Ojukwu sold Biafra due to his greed for oil and disrespect for Ogonis and other minorities of today's Niger delta. Biafra was mostly harshed due to the presence of Ogoni/Niger delta oil. If it succeeded Ogonis, who were already enslaved by Igbos in Ogoni land will be registered slaves today. Saro-Wiwa saw this and fought against it. Thus his crime at the hands of Ojukwu and other Biafran praise-singers who then sought Saro-Wiwa's head.

Meanwhile, Ojukwu ran away from his people at a critical moment into exile. Millions of innocent Igbos (Ogonis and other minorities also died in numbers at home and Igbo camps) killed while he ran away.

No wonder seasoned Igbos, including late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe refused to support Ojukwu and his Biafran insanity!

Though Ojukwu returned from Ivory Coast under Shehu Shagari or so. He couldn't have the opportunity to fight to revive Biafra again. This was contrary to the saying: he who fight and run away lives to fight another day.

Saro-Wiwa stood by his people to the end. He's a global hero while Ojukwu is the Igbo coward!

As mentioned inter alia, death is an inevitable end, so not proper to rejoice over the death of others. I'm not rejoicing over Ojukwu's death. Ojukwu's death, however, can't come without the truth about him, unlike the lies he told abroad about Saro-Wiwa and Ogonis. I hope readers may understand.

Because Ojukwu was cheap, greedy, yet with one of the best education but knew nothing to do with it, he's bribed by the Federal government of Nigeria (under Sanni Abacha), sponsored abroad to justify the world's environmental and human rights hero's (Saro-Wiwa) unjust hanging.

The coward in Ojukwu couldn't get away with that trash! He's bathed in rotten eggs; a high profile disgrace given in the West, when he went to London justifying Saro-Wiwa's unjust death of Nov. 10, 1995.

Today, Ojukwu is left to the Igbos of his kind and some Nigerians such as Goodluck Jonathan, who love violence and has already said, according to Sahara Reporters' Nov. 26 report, "Ojukwu's place in Nigerian history is assured."

Anyone still unsure that Jonathan and his Nigerian cabal hate Saro-Wiwa and Ogoni? How shameful to see a country love and honor violence and trash nonviolence and intellectual discussions, arguments for rights (as with Saro-Wiwa and Ogonis) and freedoms to the cutters!

That is the Nigeria run by the so-called majority ethnic groups for you. We can see Boko Haram like Ojukwu's Biafra, in action, supported also by Jonathan and his Hausa counterparts. We can see Jonathan sit and look confused, not sure of what to do with Boko (like he paid off Niger delta militants whose agitation was just, if not their greed and unintellectual approach) begging for help from America.

Finally, is Jonathan, one of the Ojukwu-Biafran violent praise-singer confused about the peaceful Ogonis, their just agitation for political, social and economic justice, ruined environment? No! He and the Federal government is hardened, waiting for a period when news may come that all Ogonis are extinct due to environmental degradation and government, $hell's inaction and stupidity. Shame on Nigeria, because Ogoni, which is older than Nigeria will live to shame the Ojukwus and its Nigerian oppressors!
I wonder when nairaland wud stop parading animalistic stupid fools on this great platform

Hmmn long overdue, South West contributes the largest chunk to the national GDP(outside crude oil), more than 60%; while other regions put together contribute the remaining 40%. For the sake of equity and justice; the Yoribas deserve more than what the nation apportion to them. If there could be NDDC (for producing oil), nothing should stop the SWDC (for producing the largest chunk to our GDP).
