There is nothing more hurtful than keeping silent when she sends such a text message. She sent the message with some motives behind it.

1. Either to incite you to anger and you become irrational

OR

2. To express her disgust and anger at you, expecting a response.

In either of the case scenarios, she is best ignored temporarily.

@ topic,

Never really been a footie fan. embarassed Too lazy to follow any team back in the days. But I fell in love with Arsenal in the mid 90s when my classmates, very early in the morning - everyday would argue over which team was better. Unfortunately, NEPA never made me to be a force to reckon with in those days when the arguments ensued. But supporters of Arsenal always had good points to their arguments. Then I started paying attention to them, and today, I proudly call myself an Arsenal fan. cool

Eziachi:
A total show of ignorant.
How come GSM is regarded as an achievement and let alone OBJ's achievement? What did he actually did regarding the so called GSM? Just awarding contracts worth billion to foreign operators? So awarding contract is now an achievement in your brain?
GSM is a world 21st century phenomenom, and it coming to Nigeria has nothing to do with OBJ or any Nigerian govt.  Even backward Eritrea and Benin republic even had it before Nigeria.
President Bush or Tony Blair might as well claim ipod as their achievement while in power.
Are you alright at all? Just because you can read A-B-C, does imply you are intelligent to read posts on nairaland my friend. Go and take your dictionary and read what ''sarcasm'' means. Dumbo just picking a quote in isolation and shouting "Eureka'' with it.

My statement you quoted was in respect to iReport. I suggest you go back and read the whole thread from the beginning.

MrCrackles:
I cant get my head round the reasons why fanatics are linking the recession to "signs of end of times"

I think it is an act of God!

Expect all sorts of tests from the Almighty and the recession is definitely one, a wake up call to jolt everyone back to reality!
I am lost with your input here.  What exactly are you trying to say? ''Signs of end times'' is not an ''act of God''?

@ topic,
I do not believe this is an act of God. Global recession arose as a result of greed by the money players, who thought they were wiser than they could ever be.

Fhemmmy:
I feel same too, but Nigeria is in better shape than SA when it comes to Jobs avalability
Are you really sure? You know how many graduates our Ivory Tower churn out every year? How many people struggle in the blistering sun to sit for a bank examination in Nigeria? Why do you think people are struggling to leave the country in their thousands to study abroad and make a living there? I know of some of my friends living in South Africa at the moment, studying and working there. Can that be said of Nigerians in Nigeria??
PoliticsRe: Return Home, Marwa Urges Idle Nigerians In S’africa by Pataki: 5:40pm On Mar 24, 2009
I have mixed feeling about this matter. undecided Are there really jobs in Nigeria? There might be, but nevertheless, it is not Marwa's call to tell his people to return home when its leaders continue to loot the country in billion of dollars everyday!
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo Pelted With Eggs, Tomatoes In London by Pataki: 11:18am On Mar 24, 2009
Will you or your fathers have done any better. You talk and discuss matters you know nothing about.

In YORUBALAND, it is Law that we respect our elders in public (, AND I AM SURE NOBODY IS OF OBJ'S AGE HERE. YOU HAVE FATHERS AND I AM SURE YOU WONT TALK OF YOUR FATHERS ''ESPECIALLY IF THEY GET TO BE PRESIDENT'' THE WAY YOU HAVE SPOKEN ABOUT OBASANJO ).

I want to say that all Yorubas who are here and have said bad about BABA OBASANJO are Yoruba BASTARDS and are to be so regarded. That you have the opportunity to discuss online does not mean you should run your mouths like water pipes or petrol nozzle. Dont drip what you dont have!
@ basking4me,

Without any reservations whatsoever, you are an absolute idiot! Maybe Obasanjo is your moronic father, I am not bothered. Thieves have no file of respect in my folder. If in your village, you respect a thief simply because of what you get from him, you are nothing but a low life, utterly useless and hopeless human being.

I speak as a Yoruba man, and even as a kinsman to the state where Obasanjo comes from, and I would always do nothing but render out the truth. A thief is a thief. Call me a bastard or whatever, it is your family who are BASTARDS if they cannot tell your moronic father (Obasanjo) that he was a person who could have become the Nigerian version of Mandela, but he became arrogant, condescending, and a megalomaniac while in Asshole Rock.

Within the 8years he spent in government as a democratic president, what did he do for Nigeria? How many air accidents did we have in Nigeria? Remember those brilliant children who died on the plane? What was the state of the Aviation Industry in Nigeria? And yet this was the same man who insulted his own Aviation Minister publicly, the same man who when he got into power immediately ordered for a new presidential jet, only to be gallivanting across the world. The same man who wanted another third term in Asshole Rock, but it is on record, he was kicked out!

While he should have been busy working as the role of the president enjoined on him, Obasanjo was playing politics here and there and witch-hunting/eliminating his opponents where need be. Even right that to his state when Osoba was still the governor before OGD took over from him. What developments took place when Osoba was governor under Obasanjo's first presidential tenure?

As the saying goes in Yoruba, '' N'kan to ma je, ko je ko gbon '' (The benefits you are going to derive, has blocked your senses to reason). Therefore, I understand your plight if you place Obasanjo to be your moronic father. Just make sure your own wife and daughter are not within his proximity.
PoliticsRe: A Question For The Moderator: RichyBlacK by Pataki: 8:49am On Mar 24, 2009
That topic should have been locked down ages ago. In my own view, the Politics section still has the least measure of moderation; or how else can one explain why people suddenly bring tribal sentiments into Nigerian politics when there is a Racism, Tribalism section on nairaland, where you can go type your rubbish in there.

A call has been to the OP to state his arguments as to why the thread should be opened again. I think that is truly a fair call and very reasonable. The onus is now on the OP or whomever, that feels a responsibility towards that thread to state his/her arguments for opening the thread once more.

A holistic look at the outcome of the thread in the Politics section indicates that:

1) Certain tribe felt offended with the topic;

2) The thread was having no direction and insults became the order of the day;

3) It led to an increase in tribalistic threads being created within the Politics section.

Ever since that thread was locked, with two other thread following the same lock-down from the moderator, tribal sentiments - threads creation have been on the decline.

However, I still wish to enjoin of the moderator and administrator, if there can be an additional rule to posters found erring in interjecting tribal insults to thread, which leads to thread derailing and annoying other posters, by placing a one week ban on such posters. If such posters are reported to the moderator, I think the moderator can best use his discretion to know what appropriate measure to undertake.

If it will restore sanity to Lagos, let the development proceed. Next time we do learn how to do things properly.
