May his soul in peace. He's tried. |
Methinks it is the woman's manner of approach. Has she also prepared her own will? Or what makes her think he'll die b4 her? I don't blame the man at all. People should study their spouse and know when they're in the mood for some kind things. Btw, its not a wrong question. |
You just need to compose yourself well, go to the classes when they've free periods. Take permission from the class executive and do your thing. Your only constraint will be time. If you can deliver within 10mins then you should have it. Thats at the class level. You can also penetrate through special programmes organised by the school SUG, make friends with them. My 2 cent |
Elacutey: want 2 sit 4 d pe1 dis may diet.pls I want 2 knw when is d right time 2 register 4 d exams and when 2 start attending lectures 4 it as I will b goin 4 nysc batch A dis march.pls I need answers urgently cos am so confused right now.thanks.if you want to write PE1 in May, you should have started lectures first week in january. you can continue the lectures when you leave camp. The best time to register for the exam is first/second week in April, to avoid the late hour rush. @Sesko AAA is not so difficult, i wrote it once too. You just need to read wide. I read from ICAN pack, Accounting Today (foreign) and attended lectures. Did lots of case study and thats all. I wish you guys the best. |
manzo2k6: Is it true that ican has stopped automatic qualification of foreign professionals? I read somewhere that they will be required to sit for certain exams. Does this include ACCA?yes dear no more automatic conversion. Especially Acca. You'll write at least Taxation, PSA and Law (i repeat, at least!). Cheers! |
@unanghope, preparing for the next stage of exam is the best decision, even if one has ref when results are finally released. I'm not in anyway suggesting that the delay is justified but we should stop comparing ICAN with Acca. We all know how much Acca charges just for only subscription. It's still within 8weeks. We should learn to support our own. |
@Sesko ICAN results have a duration of 6 to 8 weeks to be released. If you check ur calendar well, you'll discover we're still within the duration. Your accusations abt possible malpractices by ICAN top executive are baseless, you don't even know these people. The integrity of the ICAN exams process cannot in anyway be compromised. And i'm sure you know that already. ICAN will not encourage failure either. If you do well in your exam, you'll surely pass. If you so love Acca, the way they're 'organised', why don't you just start writing Acca instead. 'nough said. you can start PE2 lectures, you have nothing to loose by starting while you're waiting for ur PE1 results. Btw, i'm not an ican staff. |
Gloriouspa: I knew when I started reading that it will end with payment to your account. How do you expect someone who is jobless to get N3,000 to pay you. If u really want to assist, just post 2 of the websites and anyone that needs more can then pay you. I wonder why some people can not be their brother's keeper. Is everything money? Take it easy.GBAM!!! |
Elacutey: I want 2 sit 4 d pe1 dis may diet.pls I want 2 knw when is d right time 2 register 4 d exams and when 2 start attending lectures 4 it as I will b goin 4 nysc batch A dis march.pls I need answers urgently cos am so confused right now.thanks.there's no need to be agitated. Relax your mind. You ought to have started lectures first week in January if you want to write May diet. Nonetheless, you can start now and you'll still meet up. Registration for May diet will start in march. Endeavor to register close to were you'll be serving. You can do this when you leave camp. Camping is a 3weeks programme (highest 5week, considering other activities b4 you return home). You can continue your lectures after camp. That will mean that while in camp, you should make up for the time for the lectures by taking time-out to read. I hope this help? |
I believe that the change we need apart from the total overhaul of our political system, is that we individually need to change. Every Nigeria mindset is on eating from the national cake. Ask a fresh graduate his dream for the future and what you'll hear is money, how he's going to be a millionaire in no time. Thats an interesting dream you'd say? But ask how he intends to do that, he totally doesn't have a clue. No one is thinking of starting small or creating something. The developed world didn't just get there because they had a Fantastic system of government. Methinks its more of the individual's attitude and willingness to make the change. Be yourself and be creative. Think positively. We'll get there. God bless Nigeria. |
Audinowing: pls what qualification does one need to be able to sit for the exams and the cost implication.you don't need any qualification. They assume you're already a professional. The questions are practical question, so you've to have had practical experience. But lectures and pilot questions review will take you there. The registration and exam is abt 595 dollars but If you pay early its 545 dollars. Materials could cost you close to 300 dollars or more if you'r buying from them but you can buy some other materials in Nigeria for less. For like 30k plus. If you're lagos AJSILICON does the lectures for 75k including materials. You should check the website. You'll find more Info. |

Cisa is certified information system auditor. Based in USA. In Nigeria we've 3 centres. Lagos abuja and portharcourt, i hear the ibadan centre will be open this year. Exams are written 3times starting this year(was 2times b4) i.e. June september and December. Exams is purely objectives. 200 questions in 4 hrs. Materials are available for purchase on their websites(not free oh). Ask specific questions and you'll get specific answers. Or go to www.isaca.org peace-out. |

adl: Am presenting working as a marketer in the bank and I studied banking and finance. Have about 6 yrs experience in the banking industry but I feel I have a flair for the IT aspect. Will love to diversify into IT as it relates to the banking industry.all the above listed areas of IT are related to banking. You still need to specify which. That being said, banks have their internal IT department that handle the IT related jobs. You can learn these jobs and join them. Or are you looking at starting your own thing, you can learn programming and write programmes for community banks. Check out this thread https://www.nairaland.com/826851/which-i.t-career-best-most#13630314 |
Good one there. Yours is an inspiring story. I used your platform b4 it went down. I'm glad it's up and running now. I wouldn't want to push it now but i'd close to 2000 units. Whats the quarantee that it won't go down Again? |
Onainor Samuel :you're most welcome and don't use sir for me abeg. I be young boy. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Onainor Samuel :i believe you'll be preparing for PE1. You'll do Financial Accounting(FA) , Management Accounting(MA), Information Technology(IT) and Advance Audit and Assurance (AAA). All of these papers have 'ICAN packs' apart from those packs, for FA, there's no one single book for it. Even the ones you used in school will be useful. For MA you can get Adeníji plus the ones you used in school. For IT, the pack is most comprehensive material to use, you can depend on the internet for other materials. For AAA, get Adeníji as well (i used Accounting Today. Its a foreign book). AAA is a practical paper and you'll require several case studies to master each topic. The internet is very useful apart from the ones i've 'highlighted' |
Onainor Samuel :1. you can register anywhere in Nigeria and write anywhere in Nigeria. You decide where you want to write when you register for the exams. 2. I don't quite get ur 2nd question. But you can work in any organisation and still do your ICAN, infact it gives you an edge with the reforms in the banking sector and all. All you need to achieve success in ICAN is to have a good plan and stick to it . I've bankers friend who are qualified and are doing well. |
This is very unlikely but not unusual. Results are normally released like a week b4 xmas. At least for the past 3years it has been that way. Believe they'll release it soon, probably next week. |
I'll entertain further questions or visit www.ican-ngr.org |
Onainor Samuel :Nigeria officially adopted IFRS January 2012. ICAN has been IFRS compliant since 2010 May diet. Notwithstanding, with the full implementation of IFRS, a newer syllabus should be out b4 2015, thats the usual custom of ICAN. Syllabus is reviewed every 5years. |
Onainor Samuel :i'll answer ur questions one after the other- 1 ican professional level has 4 stages. Foundation, intermediate, PE 1 and PE 2. If you're an accounting graduate (Hnd or Bsc) you'll start from PE 1(i.e. 2 stages). Others courses depending on relativity to business are granted exemptions to start from either foundation or intermediate. 2. Exams are written twice a year. May and November (they are called diets). You can write PE1 May diet and PE 2 in November diet. 3 thats a year if you'r an accounting graduate. 4. The programme is viewed difficult because people are 'lazy'. You get it easy in school and you're given 2.1 or 2.2 w/out much stress but with ICAN you must READ, i repeat READ b4 you can pass it. Its not cheap at all. There's no easy way out. 5. For best result and easy preparation i'll suggest that you attend lectures. Then read with past questions and get the required materials. |
Which aspect of IT are you looking at? IT is very wide. Networking, database Management, programming, engineering, website design or do you want to specialise in the use of a particular one that is bank related or accounting related? Which? |
