Generally in igbo culture there is nothing like "independent man" or "independent woman" when it comes children unless it is so in your own community. If my own sister should have a child outside marriage, that child belongs to my family as "independent woman" no reach that side. In a situation where the lady is from where it is okay for a man to be recognized as the father of the children without being married to her, will your kinsmen who never went to the lady's family with you acknowledge the children?

There is a raging case in Kenya involving a Nigerian by the name Charles Emedo, the Kenyan lady who had 2 children with him after living 9 years with him died in September with about $20,000 hospital bill and is in legal tussle with the woman's family who claimed he never married their daughter as no dowry was paid. They were fighting over who would bury her, the Nigerian guy without the woman's family knowledge went to the mortuary yesterday (Saturday) to collect the corpse and cremated it immediately. It is a big case and I am very certain Kenyan government will not allow him to leave Kenya with the 2 children he had with her.

Well if you have half amount of their request, give it to them depending on the amount involve

But once you are married with kids, they will leave you alone

An unhealthy number of them do not leave you alone when married with kids rather they see an enemy in your wife, accusing her that she manipulated you into stopping to give them what you used to when you were single as they irrationally choose to ignore the reality that you now have your own family and added responsibilities.

It is very wrong for men to keep custody of children after divorce or separation. Children should be kept with their mothers while the father sends financial support. Doomed country.

Such situation is one of the reasons why fathers shouldn't get full custody especially the daughters from the union and they are not entirely safe from some stepfathers.

He certainly has no idea that such personal development would inspire some women out there who are thinking their life has ended because of an abusive relationship.

He took an extra bag because he didn't forget any of his but I was told he was asked if he forgot his at the airport, he replied No. I am imagining me flying with only 2 luggage and leaving the airport with 3!

Are you serious, to detain someone that return your bag. instead of dancing and rejoicing that your bag was finally returned, some are not that lucky

It is of mixed feelings but I needed to see the guy though never intended to get him arrested but talk it out at the airline's office as I needed to let him tell me why he carried my shrink wrapped bag, sliced through it and had it with him for 5 whole weeks! I still find the return, odd!

Mine was a fellow passenger that carried off one of my bags from the conveyor belt on arrival at the destination city and returned it to the airline's city office after 5 weeks, dropped a fake phone number with them. The prayer I fire on top that bag but till this day, I still can't decipher the motivation to return the bag with 70% of content still intact, airline paid for what was missing to avoid wahala as they were supposed to detain the guy when he brought my bag and call me immediately but let him go scot free.

The same must be sounded into the siblings of the spouse, which is the job of the spouse.
If family savior marries into a poor family, that spouse should be clear with his/her siblings that "my wife/husband is not your savior".
