laudate:how do you know she experienced anything years back? She came up with the accusation without putting up any evidence and you expect people to be sympathetic? That isn't done! Bring your evidence and get your sympathy! |
Why will this unfirmed news moved to front page? Emm! where this guy, mydd44 Come explain ya sef |
OnPointMan:contrary to what religion is teaching people today that fornication means sex between unmarried people, fornication according to the bible means a young man sleeping with his father's wife 1 Corinthians 5:1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife Do you see that? One should have his father's wife |
Makschinchin:what is that God's kingdom Jesus Christ was referring to and how does it apply in todays world? |
Makschinchin:let me ask you this : Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. From your understanding, what did Christ meant by the kingdom of heaven here? I will explain why i am asking this question. |
Makschinchin:actually, religion was never the cause of any problem in Africa, tradition and ignorance were the cause. But religion have solutions to these problems but they are not bringing the required solution. Rather, they are adding to the problems. |
Preciousgirl:there is nothing sinful getting aroused, it is natural. But what will be sinful is when you allow it to make you cheat on your husband. Your husband must be very lucky to have a woman like you. But again, that luck will become a curse only if you misbehave. ![]() |
The Department of State Security (DSS) Sunday said that it would not allow any forceful take over of government in Nigeria. DSS stated this in its first official reaction to a series of planned protests on the state of the nation tagged #RevolutionNow, scheduled for August 5, 2019. Mr. Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2019 elections and convener of #RevolutionNow protests, was arrested by the secret police in the early hours of Saturday. At a press conference on Sunday, DSS confirmed that Sowore, was in its custody. The agency said Sowore, who is also the publisher of an online media outfit, SaharaReporters, crossed the line and threatened public safety in his plan to organise a ‘revolution’ march. The DSS aligned itself with the position of the Nigerian Police that the planned ‘revolution’ march amounted to treasonable felony and act of terrorism. The Police High Command had at the weekend said the planned ‘revolution’ by the group, Global Coalition for Security and Democracy in Nigeria amounted to treasonable felony and act of terrorism. The arrest attracted condemnations from Nigerians including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who described the arrest as kidnapping in disguise. Addressing a press conference in Abuja, Spokesman of the agency, Peter Afunanya, confirmed that the former AAC presidential candidate was detained at the Aso Drive Headquarters of the agency. DSS said it would not watch such a march for revolution take place without taking adequate steps to contain it. “The DSS will not just sit by and watch someone or his group and cohorts threaten the peace and unity and constitutionalism of our beloved country. Whether Sowore is with us or not, the answer is in the affirmative. He is with us. “Sowore has crossed the line. He has threatened public safety. Sowore has as a matter of fact threatened the peaceful co-existence of our beloved nation and the social harmony of Nigeria. What we are reemphasising is that we will act within the law”, he said. The agency’s spokesman said: “We will act within democratic processes to ensure that whatever threat he has given with any group will be contained. We are aware that he is also working with some persons outside Nigeria to cause disaffection, chaos and anarchy in the country and we will not stand by and watch that happen. “We want to use this opportunity to reassure law abiding Nigerians, friends of Nigeria, citizens of the world that come tomorrow 5th of August 2019, there will be absolute peace in Nigeria, nothing will happen. There won’t be any revolution, the government that has been elected democratically will be in place. There won’t be any forceful take over of government.” |
Mr op, your senses are restricted to this life, when you die you know nothing again. So, it is not possible for you to know whether there is after life or not. I will advice you to remain silent on the issue, because what you don't know you cannot say anything categorically about it. |
Imagine! Where are these zombies? Let them come and defend their president who is ruling Nigeria like Oliver twist's work house |
trueking:have you read the end of the chapter that says Ecclesiastes 9:11 which says ...BUT TIME AND CHANCES HAPPENS TO THEM ALL? meaning, not some kinda spiritual control? what do you say to that? You can have all the education in the world, if the odds are against you spiritually, the person will amount to nothing, what others achieve with ease would become a herculean task, that's why you need God to neutralize every impediment to your success spiritually and in the material realm.but there are no scriptures to support this notion, these are African mythologies arising from false beliefs which have no scriptural bases, they are geared at constituting fear of the unknown to the minds of Africans, that's why Africans cannot be creative in ideas towards solving problems. I did a course in ABU Zaria, I remember one of the brightest student who was our study group captain failed the very exams even the not so good in the group passed, it was later on during deliverance we found out it was a limitation from an Alta in his grand father's house in the village. It took months to uproot but today he has a Master's degree.this is common among students. It does not mean the victim is having any spiritual attack. There was no need for all the deliverance ![]() Una funny o! These things occur as a result of chance and time as mentioned in Ecclesiastes 9:11. Sometimes, one may be unfortunate or may not be lucky like others at a particular time, but that doesn't mean they are always unfortunate, but when they keep trying without giving up inspite the many failures, surely they will overcome one day, it does not require any spiritual intervention. It may happen to everyone (Christian or non Christian alike). God is not respecter of any man. In the case of the student you mentioned, the guy had his master degree at the appropriate time, All what he went through was part of the learning process. Perhaps he was a slow learner in another aspect you people didn't see, you people thought he was a genius. |
Monkey people thread! Make Una nor go school first, Una lives go remain stagnant. You think life is about being fictious like Dr D. K Odukoya? All these traditionalists with their illiteracy no go kill us with laugh! ![]() Dreams my foot!! |
starting house fellowship, evangelism the holiness teaching in a church were their policy is different from all that is like trying to impose your belief and personal fundamentals to the church |
So, some pastors in church are trying to take your husband's place in your life saying your husband is a rapper, don't mind him? ![]() |
Khaleell001:have you ever visited the northern part of Nigeria before? There is an Islamic system known as almajiri which encourage children to beg. What do you say to that?
|
GoodBoi1:very true! even those churches you mentioned do not encourage their members to be lazy. If you have attended any of them you will know. We believe we are blessed therefore we put our faith to work. Even the bible says faith without works is dead. We believe in the supernatural too. I don't think there is any wisdom you can tell me that can't be backed with scriptures. The scriptures teach against lazinessbut what's your take on the issue of miracle of quick prosperity like Dominion, breakthrough or whatever promised by pastors to church members? Is it scriptural that God is in the business of granting unmerited favour to Christians who are committed to church? If it is not scriptural, why are pastors keep giving church members such hopes of prosperity? I tell you, a lot of Christians have abandoned hard work thinking they will be favoured by God as promised by these pastors and the favour is not coming, so a lot of them keep wallowing in poverty hoping that rescue will miraculously show up someday. |
Khaleell001:really? Tell me, are there no churches today which tells their members they have dominion and double portion as indicated on steakers below? This is just from one sect. Other sects like RCCG, Deeper life, Christ embassy, etc have their own steakers like these which are geared at giving people unrealistic hopes of having financial breakthrough just mere becoming their member. Now, don't get me wrong. It's good to give church members hope, but that should be done by encouraging these people to get themselves engaged in a carrier that will bring money to them. But many of the church members are poor, many of them are unemployed who still live from hand to mouth, yet they have dominion. A situation where you go to church and all you hear are testimonies of breakthrough from church members, one will begin to think that break through comes by being a mere church member which is not true. That alone is misleading and somehow advance fraud(going by the tithe and offering these church members pay in order for them to be enlightened which they are not) It's a sign that the church members involve are not intelligent . It happens in mosques too And by extention, it shows the mental state of the country that Africans are truly backward.

Why is God not striking these people if God do not permit it? |
Asking me whether I'm sure of making heaven is like asking whether I'm sure i have hands attached my body. Heaven is part of me, it is not something I'm waiting to have, I already have it. |

Xclusivedaniel6:exactly |
Tellemall:the two are mutually exclusive. That's why when you get to places like Dubai, government don't misappropriate public fund inspite that they are very religious people |
CodeTemplar:like every other religious people go to church or mosque for acceptance too. Let's call a spade a spade, leaders are choosen from among the people. If the people are having wrong mindset there is greater probability that leaders with wrong mindset will also be choosen from among them. 98% of Nigerian people are religious people, where do they get their wrong mindset from? From their parents at home ofcourse. Does religion have the capacity to correct the mindset of the populace? Ofcourse they do, going by the content of their religious holy books. Jesus Christ preached love, Muhammad preached peace. But does our religious leaders making use of these great values of the religious books to teach people effectively? The answer is capital no! They will rather inculcate the faulty values of African tradition against the love and peace of Jesus Christ and Muhammad respectively, why? Because they want to please the people and their tradition. See adeboye, oyedepo and kumuyi for example, they are all very traditional and cultural inclined against ethics and love. How can you be praying that your enemy should die for you to prosper? |
Xclusivedaniel6:a child that is not well trained what do you expect him to do when he eventually become a leader? Ask yourself, is religion training our children to become intelligent people? The answer is no |
Khaleell001:why can't our leaders embrace science and technology like them? I personally think it boils down to self discipline and the moral background of such leader.it goes beyond that. It requires awareness too. Awareness of what should be rightly done . Self -discipline without awareness will defeat the self -discipline itself. When the purpose of a thing is not known abuse is inevitable. When the purpose of leadership is not known abuse is inevitable. Religion has not played any role in making them who they are but their personal choices.religion was suppose to create awareness of the faulty education system we have in this country but they keep mute hoping miracles from God. This isn't how religious people practice their religion in developed nations. Ask yourself;again, when the purpose of not stealing, not cheating, not looting and not being nepotism is not known, abuse is inevitable. Religions can stand against all these negative vices, but do they tell people why they should abstain from them? I don't think so. The only reason religion has made people to understand is that if you commit these vices or evil you will go to hell fire. What a weak sense deterent? ![]() |
But our leaders are more products of religion rather than quality education yes or no? How many of our leaders does not go to church or mosque or some African shrine? |
I remember when we were still fire brand Christians in church some four years ago,it just occurred to me now, whenever i hear people speaking in tongues those times or I speak it myself there is always this strong emotions of renewing my love and commitment to God and the church. I don't know how it happens, mere hearing the sound of tongue speaking alone it was like a spontaneous spirit has befallen us that triggers some emotions, one could see the visible expressions of AAAASSHHH! as if we were caught with fire, we never felt that way when we pray ordinarily using languages people could understand. Are these feelings inherently associated with speaking in tongues or we just choose to feel that way whenever we speak it or hear the sound of another person speaking it? Are they common to everyone who speak in tongues? Recently, I have asked a friend who still speak in tongues till now though, he says he never feels any emotion while speaking it and I was like WAOO! ![]() |
Happy birthday my man, budaatum |
nelsonoba:exactly! |
Uteghe:I like to know if you are conversant with the bible? Because the answer to this question is in the bible |
nelsonoba:ofcourse the bible do not contain all valid knowledge, it is not a jack of all field of study. One thing i know for sure is that The earth is much older than 7,000 years. I hear a lot of christians make the assumption that God created the earth 7,000 years ago simply because they have tried to calculate based on how old Adam lived and his descendants' ages up to Abraham and to Joseph & Mary, and then add 2000 years from Jesus' time to then arrive at 7000years. But one thing is clear from the bible, which is the fact that God did not tell us the time difference between Genesis chapter 1 verse 1 AND Genesis chapter 1 verse 3.time frame were not mentioned in all these, certainly the duration of these occurence were much much longer than how we see them in the bible. I believe that God must have used simple terms which were simple enough for Moses(being a primitive man then) to understand, so Moses documented the account creation based on his primitive understanding. But in reality creation was much more complex than that. Now, one of the things i've heard from bible scholars (And please don't take this as a fact, cos even me myself, I cannot explicitly tell you if it's true or not as it wasn't detailed in the bible) is that there may probably be thousands or millions or even billions of years in-between Genesis 1:1 (The beginning of time when God created the earth) and Genesis 1:2 (When the earth became void and in disorder and God had to start introducing order before making Adam & Eve). And if you look at it closely, you may see that they could have a point there, because it doesn't mention when God created water. As at Genesis 1:3 when God started introducing order, water had already been created because verse 2 says water covered the face of the earth.though it may not be stated in the bible due to the limited level of knowledge of people at the time bible was documented, these are facts, the bible scholars have points in assuming these. Remember, there times on these earth most Christians and everyone used to believe that the earth was flat and not spherical in shape. Why? Because there was no indication in scriptures to show that the earth was actually spherical in shape. One other thing i've heard from them is that there seems to have been a pre-Adamic creation that lived on the earth that God destroyed for their wickedness before He recreated the earth, and they say that is the origin of demons (not to be confused with fallen angels like Lucifer). Now, like I said before, I don't have my own biblical facts to back up such claims, so I can't tell you for sure that they are true or false, but what i can guarantee you is the fact that the bible did not say the earth is about 7,000years old because we were not told how long the earth had been in existence after Genesis 1:1 to Genesis 1:3 when God began recreating the earth. And thankfully, that information doesn't affect our salvation nor does it change the fact that we know Jesus has come to redeem sinful man ad reconcile us back to GodThe was a thread on NL about Religion vs Science i tried to do a calculation of the actual length of the period between Adam era to 2019 that we are. I based the calculation based on this scripture. 2 Peter 3:8 one day is like a thousand years before God See https://creation.com/2-peter-38-one-day-is-like-a-thousand-years But guess what? There was no calculator that could contain the several billions of years. Answers of calculators or machines were saying OUT OF RANGE! OUT OF RANGE! that tells me this world must have existed and God must have created Adam and Eve only God knows when.
