Ndukings92:it is commonly used during people's funeral. Perhaps, it means dead people are resting in peace from the stress of this life ![]() There is nothing like a dead soul not being resting in peace until something else is achieved like avenging his death. Once a person dies that's the end. He feels nothing, He knows nothing anymore about who killed him or not |
Ndukings92:is there anything like "may your soul rest in peace in the bible? |
denisbid:Exactly! The bible recorded that it took a miracle or intervention of the spirit before the disciples were able to recognize that the person talking to them was the resurrected Jesus. |
Yes |
7victor:resurrection with Christ according to scriptures, is reincarnation back to this earth as God's kingdom is on this earth a lot of Christians don't know. Like someone dies today and is being buried.scriptures have it that this happens in a moment within the twinkling of eye rather, and not days or months. 1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump(that is, at the last moment of our death) for the trumpet shall sound(For we shall surely die one day), and the dead shall be raised incorruptible(resurrection), and we shall be changed.(when we reincarnate we will be given a new body) This is the resurrection Christ was talking about, it is nothing but reincarnation in the real sense. 1 Corinthians15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 1 Corinthians15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. The person then grows up but is oblivious of his former life/lives on earth.this is because our body will be changed when we resurrect or reincarnate. If you read up in that same 1Corinthians 15 1 Corinthians 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised(resurrected) a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. The natural body is the one that was dead, the spiritual body is the reincarnated one which no one will be able to recognize after resurrection or reincarnation because it has been changed. That is why the person will be oblivious of himself. 1 Corinthians 15:38[But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. 1 Corinthians15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption(dead body); it is raised in incorruption resurrected or reincarnated body) Now, everything happens here on this earth, This is what is referred to as "Reincarnation" It happens when a saved woman in Christ gives birth to a new born child. 1 Timothy 2: 15 This simply means child bearing among Christians is reincarnation of the child in reality. |
twhy111:it is not may be. The governor just leaked the tribunal verdict which they have already prepared. |
makizee:I know! I was only generalizing seeing that calabar is also in Africa which is know for similar beliefs: Example, the belief of the existence of witchcraft which any of such thing is not in reality. |
PrecisionFx:Google it and read Wikipedia, it was named after him at the permission of lord luggard, not that the people of Rivers honoured him. Infact, there are no any monument erected in honour of Lewis Vernon anywhere in rivers state like Mary sessor was honoured in calabar. Mary Slessor met with pregnant women and midwives on the calabar axis and if any of them give birth to twins, she will secretly rescue one of the twins and take the child away to Europe in pretense that she's saving dem and then sell the child thru her slavery contacts/routes.fake story! On the contrary, she tool only one child she named Janie to Scotland because she was her favourite adopted. Read the area marked green below from Wikipedia. I don't expect u to believe it, U have been brainwashed from childhood.no sensible human will believe you especially when you did not upload any reference of your false claims ![]()

obentenyson:ok, what's your concept of witchcraft? How is it different from illusion, tricks, soccery or voodoo? |
alexola20:your wife is educated yet she fail to understand the definition of witchcraft that they are all tricks, what kinda education is that? and you allow yourself to believe her tricky stories too ![]() Take a look at that definition and go think about it. Bye
|
obentenyson:first of all, you must understand the definition of witchcraft that it is simply trick or magic. I remember when we were little we used play those kind of tricks. Someone will place an object in his right palm and cover it with his fingers and be making incantations like abrakabraka! at the same time twist the object to his left palm without us knowing, because we were little and easily deceived. So when we see the object at his other palm we will start clapping, that this person has performed magic ![]() All what was recorded in the bible that you just pointed out in this scriptures were not different from that and you know why? Because people in those ancient times of the bible were primitive people and can easily be deceived. The practice is called Vodoo or hoodoo or wizardry, there is nothing special about or some kind of supernaturals attached to it, they are all physical tricks. Come try all that rubbish this modern day where there is enlightenment and see whether people will answer you ![]() People will just simply ignore you and go away. In summary, Africans say witches or wizards have supernatural power they can hurt people or manipulate people's destiny right? I'm telling you that, that thing is deception! Nobody on this earth have any supernatural power except God

PrecisionFx:did i didn't say the whole Africa? Who doesn't know where in Africa she was popular for stoping the killing of twins. For your info, if you go to that region, a whole avenue is dedicated to her name for her good work till today. Infact, her statue is a national monument. Someone known to be a notorious slave trader can never be remembered and honoured in such a manner, not all Europeans who came to Africa for missionary work were notorious slave traders. Infact, history in our schools back then recorded that a quite number of them kicked against the injustice of slave trade perpertrated by the then colonial masters. |
shamecurls:Believe wetin? Mumu African beliefs? By the way, who says you should step on people's toes? |
obentenyson:anyway! You are right to some extent saying you teach yourself knowledge in school not allowing yourself to be influenced by some indoctrinating curriculum but the good thing about school is, it broadened your mind to think beyond the normal stethoscope and take issues objectively the way they are. Every lecturers have their own personal opinion which may be right or wrong, but if one pick the curriculum and apply them truthfully he may end up getting better fact away from what the lecturer thinks and be better of. That not withstanding, there are no fact that witches exist. No scientific methodology has proven that. The bible did not prove that. The belief of it existence is the product of the minds of myths either from African origin or from ancient European empires who never saw the light of true education. |
PrecisionFx:we know her as a Christian missionary and not a slave trader, where is your fact? |
obentenyson:wait o! You use the word REGURGITATE! interesting ![]() Where you learn from? From witchcraft?
|
obentenyson:to oyibo people witches are imaginations of the mind i have been there before, the educated ones among them currently are more than 75% of their population unlike Africans. The way they reason, The things they teach their children to believe that it is possible, Africans cannot image. My God, they are so different. The awareness gap is so huge sometimes i begin to wonder, these people they are next to God. Witchcraft only exist in their movies like Harry potter that's all. It is imagination of the mind. There is nothing like one mama in the village is using Bluetooth to trouble your destiny, then go to church to pray till you almost die ![]() |
ochibuogwu5:my emphasis is on the fact that one is saved by mere being a Christian whether he or she is a Christian by birth or he or she was once in other religions and is convinced to believe in Christ. My write up is remind Christians who were made to believe in Christ by birth that their salvation started at birth therefore they do not need any further commitment to any other course before they know that they are saved However it is wrong for you to assume I was not *formerly born in another religion* but now a Christian.OK, now i know. I was only assuming. It is wrong also to assume that all those born into Christian homes are still Christians even as they grew up.I never assumed that! Ofcourse, I know that at some point, a child have the right to decide whether or not to continue with the religion of his or her birth. That is the personal decision that makes Christianity a personal thing. Christianity being a personal thing is not the personal decision to repent from sin or stop doing wrong. It is not our work as Christians to convert anybody into Christianity rather allow the LIFE OF JESUS CHRIST CRUCIFIED dwelling inside us to live out his lifestyle through our mortal-bodies then other human being who are attracted to collaborate with the grace of salvation will come to us to accept the gospel.you are very right here. This is the point, we can only try to live according to Christ that may attract people to believe, but we are not doing it because we want to be saved, we were already saved. My dear people from born into Islam/other religions are joining Christianity every second and those who were born into Christianity are also joining other religions of their choice.that's true |
BlueAir:ok, e pain o now you won insult? That's what loosers does when they don't have facts. Insulting! Idiot! Mumu! Pig!! You lark home training, baboon ![]()

enemyofprogress:what did you see when you googled it. Screenshot it and post it here let's see ![]() |
Chosen1984:no, I did not dispute when you said a Christian is not a sinner, you were very right saying that. (Only that you understand what that means) But i wanted to find out to what extent do you understand that truth only for me to see you contradicting yourself saying a Christian is the person that live the lifestyle of Christ. Unknown to you, you were equally saying someone who does not live the lifestyle of Christ is a sinner. because scriptures made us to understand that if you break one rule of the law you have break it all. And Christ did not break one rule of the law. JESUS CHRIST did not create Religion. It seems you do not understand the meaning of religion, many Christians ignore that especially in Africa. Now Google the meaning of the word religion or use a dictionary. And look at this also : John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: The very day the son of man was lifted on the cross was the very day Christianity as a religion was established, that was the day of salvation. 1 Corinthians 15:14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your FAITH. mark the word FAITH. the original use of the word faith is religion(the is no word as religion as at the time the English bible was first documented, rather FAITH was used. In otherword, if people were asked what is your faith? Their response will be, I'm a Christian or i practice Judaism or I'm an idol worshipper. [quote]JESUS CHRIST paid the price for the Whole Earth. All you need is to Believe, Accept HIM and live the life of JESUS CHRIST. Remember when Moses lifted the serpe in the wilderness, as many Jews who lifted up their eyes to the serpent were saved from death. The same thing, as many that has received Christ today(becoming Christian and not any other religion) are saved from death. Salvation has been for a group of people and not a personal thing as you people put. It is only personal when the person decide to believe, after that, it is a group.

BlueAir:if na so Africans wise where Una dey today economically compared to the rest of the world? All the best. |
enemyofprogress:Google it now, and see it for yourself. You have the phone with you ![]() |
Hausaman:Europeans were ignorant those times, today generation of Europeans know better. Have you ever asked yourself why these witchcraft believes still lingering in Africa today? It's because there are no quality schools in Africa just like what is obtainable in Europe today. Simple |
BlueAir:I know it exist in your minds and it doesn't exist in reality. What you don't know you don't know, it's simple. Even, your believe in God exist in your mind and not in reality or have you ever seen God in reality before? If God truly exist in reality atheists will never doubt his existence. But because he exist in your mind and he lives in you so they can never see him. The same thing applies, witches only exist in the minds of those who believe in their existence and nothing more ![]() |
ochibuogwu5:no, it does not confirm it. Verse 13 mentioning which were born not of blood nor the will of the flesh has nothing to do with biological birth but to be born of the spirit, meaning to be saved. But what i posted is different thing entirely. It emphasis that for you to be born of the spirit or being saved, it also require that you are from a Christian home or parent, a condition that qualifies you to be a Christian, just like a Muslim is a Muslim be cause he was burn from an Islamic home or a Muslim parent. The truth is, you are Christian today because you were born a Christian. If your parents were Muslim, i don't think by now you you will be looking at the bible talkless of salvation. Jesus Christ confirms it in John 3:6 thus "what is born of the Spirit is Spirit, what is born of the *flesh is flesh*"to be born of the spirit simply put it, is to believe in Christ. And there is no way one will believe in Christ except he or she was born into a Christian home or he or she was convinced at a time to join Christianity. Have you ever try to convince a Muslim or atheist to join Christianity before? Or look at it this way, have you ever been convinced to abandon Christianity to join other religion? Will you agree? That is how other people from other religious background will not want to join Christianity too. So, you see! The major way to be saved today is though childbearing and grooming children to be Christians by Christian parents. 1 Timothy 2:15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. |
midolian:my guy enter back your cage of ignorance and stop talking. Who need your opinion? |
PrecisionFx:you know why Mary slessor succeed over killing of twins? Because twins were humans and physical to see, so Africans were able to see and understand and emancipate themselves from the evil belief. But in this case of witchcraft no one can see spirits whether witches truly exist or not. That alone is big problem to Africans, understanding what they cannot see. Na only education go if emancipate Africans for this witchcraft matter ![]() |
FroshJaynex:OK, somethings are thought in babalawo shrine and mumu African traditions? You better wake up o |
Iziquiel:my friend Google it and find the truth for yourself ![]() |
evanstical:that was then, not now that there is so much education in England and people now know the truth. |
felaismyhero:this is very true |
