A call by National Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has resurfaced in the heat of the debate on the semantics of the use #RevolutionNow for the organisation of series of protests against bad governance in Nigeria.
Tinubu made the call five years ago on September 29, 2014, in a statement titled, 'A Return to Decency'.
Omoyele Sowore, human rights activist and pro-democracy campaigner was abducted Gestapo-style and taken to Abuja by the Department of State Services (DSS) on August 3, 2019, for using the phrase #RevolutionNow to plan peaceful demonstrations.
Tinubu's comments which were reported in national newspapers such as The Punch, DailyPost, PM News, The Nation as well as other news platforms.
When SaharaReporters conducted research on Wednesday, however, The Punch, The Nation, and DailyPost had deleted the online version of the story.
But Punch made the error of leaving behind a 2014 tweet which it posted after publishing the story on Twitter.
The story was tweeted on the verified Punch Newspaper Twitter page, @MobilePunch, at exactly 12:36 pm on September 30, 2014.
The 2014 call by the leader of the APC did not attract operatives of the DSS and was not regarded by the Goodluck Jonathan administration as a treasonable felony.
In the report, Tinubu described the 16 years of PDP rule at the federal level as a period of steady decline into disaster.
He said, “The longer they rule, the less benefit the people derive."
The Punch report quoted Tinubu as saying, "Nigeria now needs a ‘common sense revolution', a revolution that calls forth a return to decency, probity, transparency of process and fairness in outcome.“
"This is done not by subterfuge, divide and rule and turning Nigeria in a field of discord or a street of broken institutions.
"It is accomplished by honouring the principles of democratic good governance and economic justice.

He described Jonathan’s transformation agenda as an avenue to siphon funds through a dubious blueprint.
Tinubu stated, “They do not have a national blueprint or vision. They do have a blueprint and vision for excessive self-enrichment.
"Their equation is simple: You work, they feast. You toil, they grow fat. You seek a decent wage; they pilfer the collective treasury to enjoy a king’s ransom.”
Other popular Nigerians in the past had also called for a revolution.
On November 30, 2018, Kingsley Moghalu, presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party in 2019 in an interview with The Guardian called for young people to "rise up for a revolution in 2019".
Popular Nigerian televangelist, Tunde Bakare, and running mate to President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2011 presidential election on April 3, 2016, called for a revolution to correct the current "leakages in government".
In a story reported by The Punch, Bakare had said: “While appreciating the positive developments in our democratic experience, especially the attempts by past and current governments to eliminate systemic leakages, I shall seek to prove that, by a fair preponderance of the credible evidence, the state of the nation calls for a revolution.
“This is a revolution that transcends politics or policies; a revolution that means far more than any change of government; a revolution that means a radical reformation of values as they impact upon the social, economic and political landscapes of our nation."
On May 15, 2019, the Nigerian senate debated a "poverty-triggered revolution in the country" following a motion by Senator Chukwuka Utazi.

I never asked DSS or anyone to convict Fatoyinbo of rape. In fact, if you go through all my posts on NL, I have always maintained that it is unlikely evidence of his acts, would still be found after 20 years, but that does not mean he didn't do what she accused him of doing.

All I'm saying is, if this man is found guilty of rape based on evidences and not just accusations, then the DSS should convict him. And since he has not been convicted all these while, then there are no evidence and case close!

The Department of State Security (DSS) Sunday said that it would not allow any forceful take over of government in Nigeria.
DSS stated this in its first official reaction to a series of planned protests on the state of the nation tagged #RevolutionNow, scheduled for August 5, 2019.
Mr. Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2019 elections and convener of #RevolutionNow protests, was arrested by the secret police in the early hours of Saturday.
At a press conference on Sunday, DSS confirmed that Sowore, was in its custody.
The agency said Sowore, who is also the publisher of an online media outfit, SaharaReporters, crossed the line and threatened public safety in his plan to organise a ‘revolution’ march.
The DSS aligned itself with the position of the Nigerian Police that the planned ‘revolution’ march amounted to treasonable felony and act of terrorism.
The Police High Command had at the weekend said the planned ‘revolution’ by the group, Global Coalition for Security and Democracy in Nigeria amounted to treasonable felony and act of terrorism.
The arrest attracted condemnations from Nigerians including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who described the arrest as kidnapping in disguise.
Addressing a press conference in Abuja, Spokesman of the agency, Peter Afunanya, confirmed that the former AAC presidential candidate was detained at the Aso Drive Headquarters of the agency.

DSS said it would not watch such a march for revolution take place without taking adequate steps to contain it.
“The DSS will not just sit by and watch someone or his group and cohorts threaten the peace and unity and constitutionalism of our beloved country. Whether Sowore is with us or not, the answer is in the affirmative. He is with us.
“Sowore has crossed the line. He has threatened public safety. Sowore has as a matter of fact threatened the peaceful co-existence of our beloved nation and the social harmony of Nigeria. What we are reemphasising is that we will act within the law”, he said.
The agency’s spokesman said: “We will act within democratic processes to ensure that whatever threat he has given with any group will be contained. We are aware that he is also working with some persons outside Nigeria to cause disaffection, chaos and anarchy in the country and we will not stand by and watch that happen.
“We want to use this opportunity to reassure law abiding Nigerians, friends of Nigeria, citizens of the world that come tomorrow 5th of August 2019, there will be absolute peace in Nigeria, nothing will happen. There won’t be any revolution, the government that has been elected democratically will be in place. There won’t be any forceful take over of government.”

These things occur as a result of chance and time as mentioned in Ecclesiastes 9:11.

I tell you, a lot of Christians have abandoned hard work thinking they will be favoured by God as promised by these pastors and the favour is not coming, so a lot of them keep wallowing in poverty hoping that rescue will miraculously show up someday.

This is just from one sect.
Other sects like RCCG, Deeper life, Christ embassy, etc have their own steakers like these which are geared at giving people unrealistic hopes of having financial breakthrough just mere becoming their member.

Now, don't get me wrong.
It's good to give church members hope, but that should be done by encouraging these people to get themselves engaged in a carrier that will bring money to them.
But many of the church members are poor, many of them are unemployed who still live from hand to mouth, yet they have dominion.
A situation where you go to church and all you hear are testimonies of breakthrough from church members, one will begin to think that break through comes by being a mere church member which is not true.
That alone is misleading and somehow advance fraud(going by the tithe and offering these church members pay in order for them to be enlightened which they are not)
It's a sign that the church members involve are not intelligent .
It happens in mosques too
And by extention, it shows the mental state of the country that Africans are truly backward.

Why is God not striking these people if God do not permit it?
