This so-called man is a disgrace and an absolute fool! Because your wife is independent, and makes her own money (albeit from a shop he set up for her), you then decide to commit a crime Yes, although you set up the shop for her, the shop is in her name, and soliciting another person to commit arson on her property is a crime (a felony in some jurisdictions). His wife should involve the police in this matter because no one knows what he would do to her if she continues questioning him on his maintenance of several mistresses. |

Mickael2: In a better society I wouldn't have to be wasting my vote on candidates like Atiku and/or Buhari, total failures they are and they have shown that over and again. However as it is now we have to decide between the two, we essentially run a two party system in Nigeria, Moghalu is just like an independent candidate in the US, winning is impossible.
Down to the points he raised, it is nonsensical that our president actually said that he makes appointments based on the people ' he trusts'. No no no, merit is not in his dictionary, only trust. At the end of the day you can only trust people you know and have worked with and that at the end of the day means we sacrifice merit on the altar of tribalism and all what not. OK let's say you appoint your ministers based on the people you trust I may not argue, but agencies, civil service and the military have a genuine structure that self-elects the top officials of such agencies based on years of outstanding performance and meritorious service. Why will you come in and bypass military personnel with proven track records just because you want to appoint who you trust, not because they are functioning well but because you trust that they will never stand against you. That is the sorry state of our country now.
Then I would say that the moderator isn't exactly intelligent. Moghalu mentioned that one of the chief causes of insecurity is lack of proper security at the boarders and somehow she brought him back to the fact that our problems are inborn. OK I want to ask if you decide to start shouting in your room from today till tomorrow what will change? But when you have access to the sophisticated weapons that these terrorists have then or is either it was imported or our military structure has been totally compromised. In America you can track the owner of a gun, makes it totally easy to limit crime. But here we don't know how they come about these guns, the first step has to be to secure our boarders, nothing illegal comes in then if they still have access to these weapons then we will know that the military is the problem and then tackle that one.
Finally this present fight against corruption is a scam, a major scam. Now let me ask you, if you earn 30k a month and you have a nasal issue, say nasal polyps and the surgery required would cost nothing less than 300k in a standard private hospital and you already know that there is absolutely no health insurance for you, if, say you work in a scholarship board, and someone comes to you in that period with a bribe of 300k wouldn't you collect it? I personally wouldn't but if you collect it then you have absolutely every right to. How can you be fighting corruption when the common man doesn't have access to three square meals a day? Stealing and corruption then becomes a necessity to survive. Corruption can only be defeated in a well developed economy, you can't leave the standard of living of the people and then start fighting corruption it is a total scam.
Like I said in a standard society, the main flag bearers should be guys like Moghalu, Peter Obi and Osibanjo and the fact that we have to be choosing between Buhari and Atiku shoes where we will remain in four years time You hit the nail on the head on your analysis of ten root of corruption in Nigeria! Anybody who claims to fight corruption without, first, ensuring that at least government workers are paid a living wage, is deceiving him/herself. The proposed N30k minimum wage amongst the cruelest jokes ever perpetrated on the Nigerian people. Anything less than N55k/month for federal workers, is a non-starter. |

raumdeuter: Former Federal Reserve chairman has called the Ocasio-Cortez 70% tax for the rich a terrible idea
Without getting into the details, Greenspan said the move would have dire consequences.
"If you're willing to take a significant drop in economic activity, I would suggest that," Greenspan, who was central bank chief from 1987 to 2006, told CNBC's "Squawk on the Street."
"Maybe I better make myself clear," he then added. "I think it would be a terrible mistake."

That idea is a non-starter. However, I would support slashing the trillion $ “national security budget”, and compelling millionaires and billionaires to pay social security tax. As of today, people earning above $112,000/year pay no SS tax. The extra revenue would be deployed to fund infrastructural projects and keep social programs running. |

Most chances morata have gotten and missed, Vardy would have scored them easily. He should have been the one we bought, not that jelly hair waste man. Spot on! If we had Vardy, we would still be in the title race. As much people say Luiz and Kepa have let the club down at times, Morata’s misses (and playing style) have also contributed to CFC’s present position of fighting for a UCL place. |

Abbeybailey: It's gonna be a very competitive primary in the Democratic Caucuses and Primaries. I am predicting over 20 will be vying for the Democratic party nominee. Hopefully, things will sort itself out because the Orange Pig must be taken out in a massive landslide just to send a message that Americans won't tolerate a divisive and bigoted Commander in Chief. Things should be heating up by Summer of this year. Fingers crossed. 20 or 30 Democrats could announce their run for the White House. But by July or August, when there would have been at least 4 primary debates, the field would narrow down to five/six candidates. The competition for campaign cash from a finite number of wealthy donors, and small donors would also aid in winnowing the field. Then, after the first four nominating contests in February 2020, and Super Tuesday on March 3, 2020. the field would most likely be down to three candidates because those who do not finish in the top two positions in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, or South Carolina or in ten Super Tuesday states would flame out fast. I’ll go on a limb to predict the last five candidates standing would be Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Julian Castro, Kirsten Gillibrand. |

Research well without biase the truth will be revealed to you. He also didn’t want to arrest the coup plotters because they were all northern Muslims, just as Shagari. Assuming the plotters were Ijaw, Yoruba, or Igbo generals, I doubt Shagari would have still been hesitant to arrest them. |

Politics › Nigeria Risks $2.3bn Fine As Mambilla Power Project Faces Crisis by PDPGuy(op): 5:35pm On Dec 28, 2018 |
The federal government is at risk of a $2.3 billion fine in arbitration over an alleged breach of contract for the $5.8 billion Mambilla power project in Taraba state. The project, a 3,050-megawatt hydropower facility, has stalled owing to legal and funding crises after Sunrise Power and Transmission Company Limited (SPTCL), a local content partner, was reportedly sidelined in the project by the ministry of power, works and housing. SPTCL, who claimed to have been awarded the build, operate and transfer (BOT) contract in 2003, has dragged the federal government and its Chinese partners before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris, France. A UK arbitration court recently awarded nearly $9 billion against Nigeria over a breach of contract with Process and Industrial Developments Limited (P&ID), earlier given the green light to build a natural gas development refinery. Meanwhile, the China Exim Bank, which is expected to provide 85 per cent of the joint funding with the federal government for the Mambilla project, has insisted on compliance with due process and terms of the November 2017 engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract signed with the partners before releasing funds. Leno Adesanya, chief executive officer of SPTCL, in a letter dated March 31, 2017 to Babatunde Fashola, minister of power works and housing, had accused the minister of reneging on his promise to support the project. Adesanya said between 2003 and 2009, SPTCL had spent millions of dollars with financial and legal consultants to raise about $6 billion for the execution of the project, yet the company has suffered a lot over the years “through improper administrative interruptions and interventions”. ORIGINAL PLAN “While we feel a deep sense of loss that Nigeria is still discussing this project when it should have been commissioned a long time ago, if the original plan was followed,” Adesanya said. In another letter dated June 20, 2017 to the then Acting President Yemi Osinbajo requesting his intervention in the matter, Adesanya accused Abba Kyari, chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, of taking the unilateral decision of directing the ministry of power to sideline the company from the contract against the advice of Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation (AGF). In the letter dated July 24, 2017 to Osinbajo, with a copy to the chief of staff, Malami had said SPTCL should be engaged as a local content partner on the project “as a means of accommodating its prior contractual interests on the project”. However, Malami backtracked a few weeks later. In another letter dated August 17, 2017 to the company, the attorney-general of the federation said he issued the previous opinion on the project based on the limited materials provided at the time. He added that there was no requisite federal executive council (FEC) approval for the project. “The logical conclusion in the circumstances should be that there was no valid contract between Federal Government of Nigeria and SPTC in respect of the project or at all,” Malami wrote. NO STATUTE In his response to Malami, Gbolahan Elias, a senior advocate of Nigeria, said there was no statute as at 2003 when the contract was awarded to SPTCL requiring the consent of the FEC before a letter of award could be validly issued. Elias added that the letter of award to SPTCL predated the enactment of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) Act of 2005 which requires approval of projects and contracts by FEC. In a recent petition dated November 18, 2018 to the president and seen by TheCable, Adesanya alleged that the company was removed from the contract without due process. “Mr. President can save the project from being enmeshed in another controversy as it occurred during the government of President Yar’Adua where a Presidential adviser allegedly took millions of dollars in bribes, and eventually led to the removal of the official and the termination of the $1.46b civil works contract,” the petition read. https://www.thecable.ng/nigeria-risks-2-3bn-fine-as-mambilla-power-project-faces-crisis |

Sorry but the infrastructure required does not exhist. Propaganda dot com Of the 100 orders, 50 are optional. So, the airline has the option to modify or cancel the optional orders, depending on the market demand and infrastructural constraints. Besides, the airline won’t only be plying domestic routes. GAA is also planning to fly African routes as well. With 50 or more aircraft, it’s entirely plausible that they would achieve their goals. |

/ Afolabi isn’t going about the venture alone, he has some experienced hands from American Airlines, and a financial firm backing him. Moreover, the article states that GAA has 50 firm orders and 50 optional orders. So, GAA may decide to forego the 50 optional orders until they become a much bigger player in the African aviation market. Besides, GAA only needs to make a deposit, not the full payment, in order to receive the new planes. |
