raumdeuter:I bet if the guy said "....I love the First Amendment and bbc ", she will be like "that's so heroic". Sometimes, we liberals like to contradict each other. On one hand, you organize "free the nip.ple" marches, claiming that breasts should be de-sexualized. On the other hand, you take offense at the mere mention of boobs. |
raumdeuter: Can't stop cracking up. I think the Black guy was surprised that Clay loved boobs instead of the booty. He was like "this White dude is so 2005" ![]() I even think Brooke Baldwin was faking outrage. If you notices, she initially wanted to laugh it off, but as we are accustomed to do in the present PC climate, she wanted to be offended by something. I mean, why did she have to spell out b-o-o-b-s as if it were a curse word? ![]() |
I don't see the fuss in a lady paying for herself or for both of us on a date. If she pays, it takes absolutely nothing from my body. People just like to make a big deal out of nothing. |
Mtcheww. Much ado about nothing. Yes, the ticket may cost 800 GBP (over #360,000) which is quite high, but it is still a World Traveler ticket. So, do not expect to be fed 2 or 3 plates of beef, chicken or rice. And you can't expect to be served alcohol, in economy class, on all airlines. |
Former Rep. Anthony Weiner was sentenced Monday to 21 months in prison for sexting with a 15-year-old girl in a case that rocked Hillary Clinton's campaign for the White House in the closing days of the race and may have cost her the presidency. Weiner, 53, dropped his head into his hand and wept as U.S. District Judge Denise Cote handed down her sentence. After the hearing ended and the judge left the bench, Weiner sat in his seat for several minutes, continuing to cry. In pleading with the judge to be spared from prison, the former congressman tearfully said he was "a very sick man for a very long time." "I am profoundly sorry," he said, reading from a page in front of him. "The crime I committed was my rock bottom. ... I live a different and better life today." The sentencing completed the sordid downfall of the New York Democrat whose penchant for exchanging lewd messages and photos with young women destroyed his congressional career in 2011, doomed his 2013 run for mayor of New York, wrecked his marriage to Clinton's closest aide, Huma Abedin, and became entangled in the 2016 presidential campaign. Weiner pleaded guilty in May to transferring obscene material to a minor, punishable by up to 10 years in prison, for illicit contact with a North Carolina teenager. Prosecutors said he sent her porn and got her to take her clothes off and touch herself on Skype. In imposing sentence, the judge cited a need in such a highly publicized case to "make a statement that can protect other minors." Cote noted that Weiner repeatedly got caught sexting and said that while he has made "great strides" in treatment, "the difficulty here is that this is a very strong compulsion." Federal prosecutor Amanda Kramer had urged Cote to give Weiner a significant prison sentence to end his "tragic cycle" of sexting. Weiner wore his wedding ring to court. His parents were in the courtroom but not his wife. He and Abedin, who have a 5-year-old, are going through divorce proceedings. Weiner said nothing as he left the courthouse. He must report to prison by Nov. 6. He was also fined $10,000. After his sentence is served, he must undergo internet monitoring. He must also enroll in a sex-offender treatment program. The FBI was investigating Weiner's contact with the high school student when it came across emails on his laptop between Abedin and Clinton, prompting then-FBI Director James Comey to announce in late October 2016 that he was reopening the probe of Clinton's use of a private computer server. https://www.yahoo.com/news/weiner-due-court-sentencing-sexting-scandal-042901123--politics.html |
Democratic attorneys general, aiming to take on the Trump administration on a growing number of fronts, are planning to spend $10 million to $15 million to elect more of their own next year. The offensive comes as Democratic attorneys general have already challenged the White House’s travel ban, its planned border wall, rollback of environmental regulations and President Donald Trump’s business dealings. It’s also part of a longer-term effort to build a bigger and more diverse bench for the party to draw on in gubernatorial and Senate races over the next decade. The hope, according to sources familiar with the effort, is to catch up to the Republican Attorneys General Association, which ramped up its legal and political work during the Obama years, notching major successes on both counts. RAGA put $23 million into races in the past two years, helping win and hold 29 of the country's attorneys general offices. In addition to protecting incumbents, Democrats have identified top targets they want to capture — including in Ohio, Wisconsin and Nevada. And, banking on presumed Democratic-friendly trends in 2018, they’re eyeing other states that will be tougher to flip. The Democratic Attorneys General Association "has spent a lot of time running around the country to identify the best and strongest candidates for AG races in states like Arizona, Colorado, Texas and even Florida,” said Karl Racine, the Washington, D.C., attorney general and DAGA co-chair, who himself just passed on entering his city’s mayoral race to run for reelection. Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, who is on the DAGA steering committee, has been speaking with recruits individually. She credits several whom she sees as strong candidates after the success she and her colleagues have had on the travel ban lawsuits and in bringing Trump to court on emoluments, education policy, environmental regulations and his proposed border wall. “What we’ve seen since Trump’s election is the role of state AGs, and why it’s such an important seat,” Healey said, in an interview over the summer in her office in Boston. “That is really where a lot of the action’s been, and will continue to be.” http://www.politico.com/story/2017/09/24/democratic-attorneys-general-plan-major-campaign-push-243020 |
happney65:I mean, how can a grown man only believe in two things - the First Amendment and boobs? ![]() At least he should try to diversify his interests. Of course, CNN should never have booked him to the show, especially to discuss such an important issue like race |

PSA: Arizona State University is now offering a tuition-free MBA program for both U.S. residents and international students. Application fee for international students is $90. You'd also need to write an essay, take the GRE or GMAT, get transcripts, recommendation letters; and for international students, you may be required to take the TOEFL exam. The program is quite a competitive one as only 14% of applicants were offered admission in the 2016/2017 academic year. Application opens September 1st. For more info visit asu.edu |
Segadem:It will be cheaper for those with unlimited data.. |
The National ID card should also be used as voters card. For applicants of the national ID who are younger than 18, the card should denote the month and year that the holder will turn 18. That way the government can save billions in producing both a voters card and national ID. |
spartacus11:I hope it comes to fruition. At the very least, folks will save money from buying expensive pay tv plans, or patronizing viewing centers. |
Segadem:Well, you'll always have to buy data. ![]() |
I'm 150% in support of this move by the FG. |
You all can watch PSG v Bayern for free on facebook live. |
With this form, the likes of Real and PSG should be afraid. The Blues are back!! |
TheKingIsHere:Yes. That's why I said, depending upon the jurisdiction the incident took place, the mum could sue for damages for false imprisonment, or it could be a kidnapping charge in a criminal court. |
cococandy:You all earn twice the salary of your husbands, emasculate them and throw them out of the house, despite your husband's "training" you in nursing school ![]() |
cococandy:She could be a CNA or an LVN or even a caregiver at a nursing home/assisted living facility. |
FrankNetter:I tell you. These two aren't even married, and they are almost at the point of throwing punches at each other. |
gypsey:Lol. The woman must have committed her 3rd or more felony before being sentenced to 150 years imprisonment. I seriously don't think shoplifting, alone, warranted the harsh prison term. In CA, we have the (in)famous "three-strikes" law wherein a defendant would be sentenced to a term of 25 years to life if he/she had committed a "serious/violent" felony on two previous occasions. The judge owing 40% of a private prison is a serious conflict of interest and should possible be illegal. As you said, he would be incentivized to send more people to long prison terms cos it would result in more money for him. It's why I oppose the private prison enterprise. The government should own and run all prisons. |
sukkot:Oh I see. Your state defines it as.... taking away OR imprisoning someone against their will... |
sukkot:Here you go: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kidnapping_in_the_United_States There must be asportation before you call it kidnapping. Also, the Illinois kidnapping statue lists "carrying another from one place to another" as one of the elements of the crime. http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/ilcs4.asp?DocName=072000050HArt%2E+10&ActID=1876&ChapterID=53&SeqStart=12200000&SeqEnd=13600000 |
sukkot:Well, it depends on the particular circumstances of your brother's case. If there was asportation i.e. he carried her against her will to the room, and prevented her from exiting the room, by any means, then the local prosecutors were right in slamming a kidnapping charge on him. But in this case, we see no evidence of the girlfriend taking or carrying the old woman to a confined place and preventing her from leaving. So, as far as we can tell, no kidnapping took place. |
Whatever her boyfriend's mum did to her, the old woman doesn't deserve such treatment. The girlfriend probably doesn't know that her boyfriend's mum could sue her for false imprisonment because she confined the woman to a bounded area with almost no means of escape. Moreover, those who say "she is only a babymama, she doesn't have rights in the home", you all are wrong. Depending upon the jurisdiction, if two people have been co-habiting for a number of years, and each person contributes in some way to the running of the house, then they both have equal ownership rights. So, the man can't just claim that it is his house, if they have been living together for a long time. |
jidedavid:Some people will even borrow N2 million just to hold a wedding that lasts for a few hours. That is just insanity. I can't imagine spending my entire life savings on a wedding; that will never happen. |
N500,000 wedding is possible, even in Lagos. You two do not need to rent a N1 million hall for the reception; the church premises could suffice. As for the food, you can try to limit the guest list to under 300, so that you wouldn't have to spend much on catering. |
