Politics / Re: Bola Ahmed Tinubu Arrives In Lagos by Pedagogue: 4:27pm On Oct 05, 2013
Tinubu: That politician that LACKS the moral fibre of a Buhari, the intellectual sagacity of Awolowo and the nationalistic orientation of Nnamdi Azikwe...

Tinubu is that modern day Nigerian politician that emblematises all what is called 'the new high tech level of corruption',a do or die political mentality and an unswerving apostle of godfather ism. He,like other politicians of this era, believe that politics is one of the prehensile ways for acquiring wealth.
They have also gotten to the audacious point of 'acquiring' power for and on behalf of their families.Their kiths and kins are in the Senate,House of Reps and other key political positions

But Tinubu is a SPECIAL breed. He is far ahead of his contemporaries in everything. I mean EVErYTHING,corruption inclusive!!!
Not only did he have the sagacious edge over his Governor colleagues in then AD who sheepishly sold their political empires to OBJ,he also had the political foresight to (almost) single handedly re-launch a dead party. That party today is 95 % in control of the South West.

Still not satisfied,he has teamed up with other politicians (albeit they are more or less strange bed fellows) to give PDP a good 'fight' in 2015. And believe me, the battle for the soul of Nigeria has started. For PDP,the honest truth is- they would have preferred a sick picture of Bola Tinubu lying down in one health facility in the UK than one waving at supporters at the Lagos Airport.

Don't get me wrong, Bola Tinubu is not a god.But if the individual strength of politicians is to be tested in the Country today, Tinubu's name would come tops.
I do not like what Tinubu represents neither do I like his style of politics. But the truth is, the current political tide in the country cannot throw up politicians in the mould of Awolowo, Bello or Zik. Thus, for Nigeria to break free from the shackles of PDP, Nigeria needs the Tinubu's of this world.

Nevertheless, Tinubu is not a saint. But in today's Nigeria, his brand of politics and party is the most realistic alternative to PDP. Love him or hate him,Tinubu can still be used to serve God's purpose for Nigeria...Remember Saul?

To the Jagaban of Borgu, I join u,your family and well wishers in thanking God for Showing u MERCY. Afterall,He said He will have Mercy on whom He will have mercy.

*So glad he's back.

Politics / Re: President Jonathan Rings NYSE Closing Bell (video) by Pedagogue: 10:14am On Sep 24, 2013
I have said this before and i will repeat it here...

If you are searching for reasons why nothing is working in Nigeria, pls do not look any further...just type www.nairaland.com. You'll get the answer you need from the comments of educated youths.

It is very shameful and pathetic that supposed educated youths are celebrating that their President rang the closing bell at NYSE!!! Albeit everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, nevertheless, opinions expressed on sensitive issues can give one a glimpse about the level of societal understanding of governance.

If educated ppl display high level of ignorance about the essence of politics/governance, what can one expect from illiterates? I really believe Nigerians, especially the youths, need to be re-orientated.

Or how can one explain a situation where ppl can praise a President for ringing a bell, when under his watch:

1. The pump price of Petrol is now #97. It was #67 before he became President...Yet, nothing has changed.
2. We read about Boko Haram killings every week
3. Kidnapping is now a money spinner. Never in the history of Nigeria has there been more kidnap cases as we have now.
4. Insecurity is the order of the day. Under his watch, hitherto fortified places like UN building and Police force Hqtrs have been rubbished.
5. ASUU is still on strike....Yet, his followers keep shouting 'FRESH AIR'. Pls, what is fresh in the air when doctors have also been on strike on two occassions this year.
6. Nigeria has lost huge amounts of oil revenue because of oil thieves. Yet, GEJ's govt awarded billions of naira contract to Tompolo and other ex militants to guide oil installations. Can a lion be asked to protect a goat?
I CAN GO ON AND ON...

Rather than demand good governance from their President, many here think because GEJ rang the last bell at NYSE, he is the best President ever...What rubbish! And for those that think GEJ's trip to the US would attract FDI, i have a word for you-

Businessmen are businessmen. No matter how you cajole a businessman, he can never invest his money in an hostile country. If there's constant electricity, improved security and less corruption, no one will beg them to come!

#I love my country but hate the way many of us think.

Was enjoying the report until I saw this part "is aimed at curtailing corruption".

In GEJ's mind, he is fighting corruption...!!!

Left to me, this is a conduit pipe for corruption.

Who and who are in charge of this scheme? A bank that is under the control of the second most corrupt ministry in nigeria(you can quote me anywhere) the ministry of finance!!!

A large percentage of the approved funds for the scheme will go into the pockets of directors and people in govt. So, what drink was Mr. President drinking when he said the scheme is aimed @ curtailing corruption?

.......
I would have lauded this scheme but for the lack of the right institution to make it work. But as things stand, the real ppl that need it will not have access to the funds.
........
Until we have a govt that is ready to strengthen our institutions, any scheme (no matter how good) Will not achieve its stated objectives.

I read with pity this long rubbish (yes, i mean RUBBISH) by the NANS president.

Apart from the lack of intellectual fibre in the press release, it is all too evident that the Nigerian canker worm of CORRUPTION has eaten really deep into what ought to be the mega voice of all students in the country.

From day 1 of this intractable ASUU strike, the body language of NANS has been towards offering support for the federal government.

.......
The only language our dumb leaders understand is CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE. If many university students participated in the fuel subsidy protests, why is it so difficult for them to organise mass rallies and protest this SATANIC closure of their universities? I AM NOT SAYING STUDENTS SHD TAKE TO VIOLENCE...Rather, civil disobedience is a democratic mechanism that citizens can employ to force govt to act.
........
Rather than do this, most students would rather talk about football, TV shows, music and other insignifcant things. If care is not taken, this strike will not end before Xmas.

The time to act is NOW- Tell that NANS President that this is no time for long boring press statements.

****I remember the good old days...Not in the sense of treasuring the several years of ASUU strike- but in the sense of what we did to compell govt to act*****
****But again, if ASUU can still go on strike for months in Nigeria (under a civilian regime), what then is the difference between Nigeria of 1998 and Nigeria of 2013) ?

If possible, they should make him the president of Mali...

As usual, GEJ and his cronies are seeking to derive political advantages from this 'honour'.

My message to them is simple: A president that has no honour at home is no President !!!

I hope they know his continuity in office will be determined NOT by foreigners BUT by Nigerians...

Awards and 'honours' do not win elections ...Performance can- And on this score, GEJ's performance has been WOEFUL

Only in Nigeria will you see parents attending a rally because of #5k or at most #20k to support a govt that is RUINING the future of their children- ASUU has been on strike for months and the best thing the First Lady thinks is appropriate at d moment is a PEACE rally ? What rubbish!!!

And as per those soldiers- It's now inevitably clear that things are now UPSIDE down in d country!!! If officers (regardless of their gender) could turn themselves to praise singers, what more debasement of professionalism can this administration do?

If d message GEJ and PEJ are trying to pass is about 2015-that they are in full control of the police, military and all other forces...they should be told in clear terms that 'no be by women soldiers '

Come 2015, whether GEJ likes it or not,he cannot be President again - Quote me!

I know that it is diplomatically incorrect for Nigeria to be in any sort of diplomatic row with Britain...but let's ask ourselves this question, Will this 'what is good for the goose is good for the gander' decision stop Britons from coimg to the country?

My diplomatic answer is- TO HELL WITH THEM!!! What has their coming added to us? If they've been coming since 1960 and they can't still help us fix our power problem...then,they should leave us alone.
All they do in our country is to TAKE FROM US and not ADD TO US!!! So,it's good riddance to bad rubbish

* Okonjo lost my long held respect because of her comments during the fuel subsidy imbroglio ...Now, she has lost ALL my respect!!!

* Regardless of whatever,OKonjo's posture is really inhumane...Someone that knows the value of education would naturally be expected to be careful when the issue of universities strike is being discussed!!!
**But not the mother of Harvard trained children..! She simply said Nigeria cannot afford to meet the demands of ASUU- and that is all !!!
** Okonjo, the most powerful Nigerian Minister ever, never saw anything wrong in Patience Jonathan's plan to launder billions of naira on a meaningless First Lady's building
** She equally never saw anything wrong in the billions of naira that the President marked for food in the villa
** Our very own Okonjo IWEALA has also not said the country cannot afford to pay ministers, senators, aides and other cronies their FAT salaries and allowances

*Nevertheless, like I said when ASUU announced their wicked strike, it's a self seeking strike...not for the betterment of Nigerian students nay universities!

*ASUU is the principal reason why the quality of our varsities is going down the rain- OR can anyone tell me that sex for mark lecturers,20k for 'B' lecturers and handout selling lecturers are better than our thieving politicians? Hell no! They are SAME OF SAME.

Congrats to the awardees...I've been there, so i know how it feels! *big hug*

That aside, can we please remind our 'leaders' that ASUU is still on strike!!!

Awarding scholarship to deserving students did not just start today. It was d 'in thing' in d 60s,70s and 80s! D primary reason for this was to send deserving students to the best universities in the world- in order to have them contribute to nation building!!!

But is this practice still of any practical significance in Nigeria of today? The answer is NO. In particular, Ekiti state probably has more Oxford,Cambridge and Harvard trained graduates than some African countries! can even bet that In each of these courses(law, business etc) Ekiti state has probably produced more than 60 graduates from Harvard,Oxford and Cambridge!!! So,in all honesty,I do not see any benefit that this will bring to the sate!!!
These days, politicians mainly use scholarship schemes to reward people that are close to them...Nevertheless,it is better than stashing our monies in Swiss accounts!!!

And again, what value has the educational exploits of Ekiti people brought to the state? Ekiti is touted as the poorest state in the south west and is still regarded as the most educated state in Nigeria,is this not an irony? Well, mo one should expecf any better from a state and country that has the best hands in all areas of life but will rather settle for lesser brains!!!!D truth is, education WITHOUT the right environment is Nothing.
We all know that these crop of students will most likely follow the footsteps of those before them - take up jobs from the best companies in the US or Nigeria and forget about their 'damned state'. All that talk about 'Coming back to the state' is undiluted rubbish!!!

****D main problem in Nigeria today is UNEMPLOYMENT! Or Mr.Fayemi does not know that there are thousands of jobless degree and masters holders in Ado Ekiti and its environs?

.......................
Well, Mr. Fayemi is a 'sharp' man...he said they will be sponsored from his purse!!! Hmmmmmm! Mr. Governor, your purse is fat o...if ur 'purse' can afford to send 6 people to Ivy League universities then I suspect u have billions in your account grin
Jokes apart, when are we going to stop this colonial mentality? We keep sending people to top universities whilst allowing ours to embark on meaningless strikes...From 1960-2013 nothing has changed

Politics / Re: All Progressive Congress (APC) Registered By INEC by Pedagogue: 2:07pm On Jul 31, 2013
Tinubu's APC don enter one-chance be dat. The name APC is still under litigation. What if Tinubu's APC loses the court case at the 11th hour? Wouldn't it have been safer and wiser to pick a new and risk-free name?

Anyway, I wish them luck. At least, they'll add more competitiveness to the political process. But Tinubu's APC chance in the 2015 presidential election is ZERO

...............................................
1. U said "APC DON ENTER ONE CHANCE and that it would have been wiser if they had picked a risk free name"-
There's nothing logical about this point. What do u mean by "risk free name". Is there anything like that? We all know that there was no party called APC prior to the announcement of the merger. But immediately they announced d name,a massive building was promptly bought in the heart of Abuja and some paid politicians claimed the name is theirs!
Even when some people suggested (including Aruleba of AIT) that APC should just add 'n' to their name and make it ''APCN", some unknown politicians (obviously acting the script of the ruling party) addressed a press conference the next day saying that were on the verge of applying to INEC to have the name ''APCN" approved as a party!
D truth is- even if APC choose another name tomorrow, another party wud probably lay claim to it...it all boils down to the desperate politics of frustration that PDP has been playing!

2. "What if Tinubu's APC loses the court case at the 11th hour? "
To start with, APC is not Tinubu's property...so,please stop the intentional aim of disparaging the party! Albeit he's a key stakeholder,he's not the only one....There are other big politicians like Buhari and co - it's a merger folk, not a 1 man party!
To answer your question, do you have an idea about the number of PDP cases in court? Albeit those cases are not about the name/registration of PDP as a party, but some of these cases are very critical to the party's 2015 ambition! So, will PDP stop functioning as a party because of these cases? Hell no! Any law student would tell you that facts/circumstances favour APC...since they've been able to cross the hurdle of registration,it will take the highest court of the land to overrule INEC! And of course, public policy is always paramount when the supreme court is to decide any issue. Thus, APC politicians cannot be disturbed by any case in court....that is why they have a legal team! So, don't make it sound like their registration is inchoate!
So,to throw a similar question @ u- what If any convention that PDP holds before d 2015 election is nullified by d court?

3. "they'll add more competitiveness to the political process. But APC chance in the 2015 presidential election is ZERO"
Are you sure you are a "sincere Nigerian" ? What hv the chances you've been giving to PDP since 1999 done for the country? How can you categorically say a merger of All the key opposition parties in Nigeria has Zero chance? No politician can ever say that! You can see that PDP politicians do not think like u- they know the threat they pose...that is why they did everything possible to ensure that d party is not registered!

* I am more than happy that APC has been registered. I am happy not because I am a politician, I am happy because the perennial slavery of Nigeria (at the national level) is about to come to an end).
Many that voted GEJ and not PDP have since realised that a party cannot be separated from an individual...they are one and the same! Nigeria cannot move forward if the same PDP cabal at the centre keeps winning!!! Since d PDP can boast of little it has done for d past 16 years, why allow the same party again?
Many will also argue that all politicians are the same and APC might be more worse....-this has been d tactics PDP has been using to deceive Nigerians! In d South West for instance, no one will say Agagu,Oni,Daniel,Oyinlola and Akala are better than their successors! That aside,How can an under performing party be kept in govt for 16 years! Politics should be about options...How can we claim we are a democratic state and a party will boast of ruling for 60 years!!!

Message to APC: Pls present a 'progressive' presidential candidate

Year 3 (2015-2016) - Serious contractual dispute-that will lead to the withdrawal of those over 700 equipments...In fact, newspapers will be awash with news that 'Julius Berger and RCC are threatening to take FG to court because of d failure of govt to provide funds'

@Op,I think u should get e-beer for previous posters...Or better still, shake their hands in appreciation. But when you meet D-EXPLORER,please go down on your knees and say thank you sir!
Nevertheless,I think many have been a bit harsh on the Op. And I think this is because we have refused to put ourselves in the shoes of the Op...
*The guy is preparing for a LIFE time contract- a decision that is perhaps the biggest he will ever make..
*Before any major decision,it's only human to contemplate, hesitate and think..this cannot be less when it's a marriage decision!

That said, I think we can attempt to summarise the Op's state of mind and make deductions therefrom
1. His fiancé his not as pretty as 'he wants...'
Mister, were you blind when you asked her out? And If you were, what cured your 'blindness' ? Or is it because you now have more money? Since u now you have a "200k paying job (excluding allowances) ", u probably think you deserve someone better! Afterall, your new 'status' can get you any beautiful gal! Is that the state of your mind? If that is it, pls cure your heart of this disease.

2. "If you get a girl that would match your taste, you would not cheat"- FAT lie.
U will cheat if u will cheat. That you are married to Miss world does not mean she's d only lady that will catch your fancy. Self restraint is what stops people from cheating- not the beauty of your spouse. If u marry a lady that has the best boobs / ass in d world, it would fall or lose shape...So,what we call beauty does not last forever....That you never cheated on your ex is immaterial here-because it might be that there was little room for that!

Conversely,it seems the OP is only interested in marrying the girl because:
A. "...WE WILL BE CONFORTABLE "- Typical nigerian ! He thinks the combination of his income plus that of an hardworking lady = enough money grin
B. "SHE HAS MADE HUGE SACRIFICES" -Perhaps the girl has aborted severally or supported the Op financially ...
C. "Because of Pity"
-if these are all the reasons u can give 4 wanting to marry her,pls SAVE yourself d stress of a failed marriage and leave her now.

If she has other qualities and u dump her because she's not beautiful, I pray you will not regret it! What we call 'beauty' is subject to the vagaries of life. It FADES and could be affected by unplanned events like accidents!!!

But no matter what,do not marry out of pity!!! If you think your 'beauty requirement' ranks higher than reasons like her attitude, loving kindness, good heart etc PLS PLS and PLS leave NOW ...If you however decide to stick to her, know that - you MUST not torment her after marriage with thoughts or comments like 'she is not beautiful enough' . You MUST love her for who she is FOR LIFE! You MUST force your mind to believe she's the most beautiful woman on earth...what we allow our mind to believe is what rules us!
Even if u see more beautiful girls, your mind wud remind you that 'you have Miss World at home'- not because she's more beautiful BUT because your marriage 2 her has automatically made her to be!

*D reason why marriages collapse these days is because many go into it for the wrong reasons*.

RIP to the First Lady's mother.
.....................................................................................
If money can buy life,do u think she would have died?
If power/position can buy life, the first lady's mother will definitely still be alive...

But she's dead...dead despite all the powers/riches that her daughter controls!
She's dead...dead despite all the retinue of aides she probably moves around with!!

My post shd not in any way be taken as a mockery of her death-because that is not the aim.
D essence is to remind us of the vanity called life.

Just as Shakespeare said "All the world's a stage" and no one knows the "last scene of all"...
My most important concern has always been eternity-and eternity will be determined by what we are caught doing when the 'scene ends'..but how can we pass this test when we allow ourselves to be carried away by the vicissitudes of life, forgetting that life is only for a short while !!!

Death is a ritual that both the rich and the poor will observe!
It even has a way of making mockery of what we call fame, power and riches! Imagine, d First Lady's mother did not die in one expensive hospital in far away Saudi Arabia or Germany neither did she die peacefully while sleeping in one expensive hotel in America...
Rather, death chose to take her while being chauffeur driven in btw a federal/state govt road that many 'unknown' and 'unimportant' people have probably lost their lives countless times !

Her death is a reminder to us all - it's all vanity upon vanity!!!
............................................................................
*This is not a time to play politics or play the 'hate game'. No matter what, let's respect the dead! May the good Lord protect those she left behind

.Ways ‎t̶̲̥̅̊o̶̲̥̅̊ resolve de crisis in PH city. (1). Recall de Obio/Akpor Chairman and his councillors cos some sections of de rules and order of de house of Assembly were not followed. (2). Acknowledge and recognise de PDP in de state led by Felix Obuah, cos yu too came in as Gov thro de court. Yu were not elected. τ̲̅ђe supreme court brought yu in as Gov in 2007. (3) recognise Evans Bipi as de new speaker of de house of Assembly. After doing de above, then call Pro n Anti Amaechi lawmakers and ‎♍åƙε̲̣̣̣̥ them settle immediately. Long live Naija.

Typical Nigerian!!! Amaechi should do all that...but his critics/opponents should do nothing!

The most laughable thing in your post is your suggestion that he should "recognise Evans Bipi as de new speaker of de house of Assembly." My bro, albeit you are entitled to your view,a view like yours is bound to be taken with a pinch of salt. If you can boldly state that a governor should accept d imposition of the will of 5 people over 27 people, then I need no other evidence of your obtuseness. It's like saying he should accept what will kill him.

By your "team fresh air", its obvious you are one of the many literate knaves that regularly insult the intelligence of Nigerians through sheepish posts on social media- well, I guess you get paid for doing this! Or how can a dispassionate person make illogical suggestions like you've drawn up? I'm not against your stance neither am I against your support for anybody, because u have a right to do that...I'm just appalled by the way you've reduced common sense!

@ Op, I'm not in Support of d personality of Amaechi neither am I in support of d Presidency-they are all politicians and they know how they do their things!
Nevertheless, Amaechi's travails is about justice, equity and democracy. If the imposition of the will of the Presidency on democratically elected leaders in Rivers is allowed,it may well be the end of our democracy. If the ridiculing of d governor by the commissioner of police is not Condemned by all and sundry,we should expect more from the very desperate president in states that are not in his good books! If all that happened during OBJ's time is still happening in 'their' era of 'fresh air' ,is Nigeria not doomed?

It is in furtherance of democratic norms that I am on the side of Amaechi!
Many have been saying Amaechi should bow to the 'almighty powers of the presidency'. But may I remind them that Bola Tinubu was able to counter all the fire powers of a more 'terrifying ' president! So, if he was able to that against a more power wielding and 'on d ground' President ,why cant Amaechi do the same?
Bola Tinubu's political career began when he was able to stick to his political principles! If Amaechi shifts grounds, that will mark the end of his political career. BUT not shifting grounds is not the same thing as not meeting with the President or not dousing the tension in d state...
Not shifting grounds is NOT succumbing to the whims and caprices of a power drunk President and his wife

I'm still shocked that a purporting OPC leader can celebrate the release of Al Mustapha. He even went as far as being on the same motorcade with Al Mustapha in Kano.

Just like the popular saying goes- when the gods want to kill a man, they first make him mad.
I thought Fasheun's 'madness'will stop at his self serving and money seeking UPN reincarnation! But he has by his actions dumped himself in the thrash bin of history.

If the meaning of OPC is still Oodua People's Congress, Fasheun has no moral right to lay claim to being a member...moreso,a leader!
1. Al Mustapha represents everything that Abacha's government did
2. Yoruba's lost more lives to Abacha's tyranny than other ethnic nationalities
3. Al Mustapha was more or less like Abacha's prime minister- Infact, according to many, Al Mustapha was the one in charge of the country...Abacha was more or less his figure head!
4. Kudirat Abiola was killed by Abacha's govt...

That Al Mustapha was released is not the reason for my long post. My major grouse is with self seeking men like Fasheun that have no moral fibre whatsoever. I am not against the celebrations in Kano for their 'worthy son' neither am I against the Yoruba lawyer that defended Al Mustapha...afterall, he was doing his job! But for a purporting Yoruba leader to openly fraternise with Almustpha...it's baffling!!!

***This is not about tribalism!!! It's about unconscionable attrition that our so called leaders are wallowing - because of their selfish interests! It's also about justice - not only to an ethnic group that was more marauded by d ill fated regime of Almustpha but also to the Abiola family...!!!

Left to me and I'm sure many others, Gani Adams is the only authentic OPC leader.

Politics / Re: Rivers PDP Faction Expels Amaechi by Pedagogue: 10:26am On Jul 20, 2013
Hero over what, is he having crisis because he is fighting for the masses?
Is the quarrel about provision of social amenities to the Rivers people?
Did Amaechi come up with one progressive policy, which opponents are after him over?

For your info, Amaechi is your hero, not mine.
Amaechi is fighting is for his pocket, not that of the masses.

The fight is over what Amaechi should be in 2015, there are 3 options for him, VP, Senator or just another civilian.
How does the masses of Rivers state profit from Amaechi being VP in 2015 or Senator

Even if we believe he is only going to the senate in 2015, how does the Rivers masses profit from Amaechi being a Senator in 2015.

If Amaechi is clean, being out of public office in 2015 shouldn't have being a very terrible thought to him. He wasn't born into an elective office and he shouldn't die in one.

It is the aim to immune himself from future probes that is propelling his overdrive to be in an elective position at all cost after his current tenure, not the love for the masses. So he is far from being the masses' hero.

For your info, Amaechi is a Nigerian politician, none among them is a hero, majority if not all of them, are crooks.

1. So, Wike , PEJ and GEJ are fighting for the masses?

2.For your info, GEJ is your hero, not mine.

3. The fight is over PEJ's ego,Wike 's gubernatorial ambition and GEJ's presidential ambition in 2015

4.. How will the masses in Rivers benefit from GEJ's presidential ambition in 2015?

5..Even if we believe GEJ will not contest for the presidency in 2015, how have the masses benefited from his presidency thus far

6..if GEJ/ WIKE are clean, being out of public office in 2015 shouldn't have been a very terrible thought to Them. They were not born into an elective office and they shouldn't die in one.

7.It is because they want to immune themselves from future probes that is propelling their overdrive to be in elective positions at all cost after their current tenure, not the love for the masses.

For your info, GEJ/WIKE are Nigerian politicians, none among them is a hero, majority if not all of them, are crooks.

Politics / Re: Yinka Odumakin Ceased Being Buhari’s Spokesman Since 2011 by Pedagogue: 10:14am On Jul 20, 2013

If Odumakin is surprised that the statement was linked to Buhari-then he has shown he's a political neophyte.
Since PDP is interested in pulling down the APC,a statement rubbishing the governors of ACN by a former spokesperson of Buhari is bound to be linked to him- in order to cause disunity in their camp!

But, Mr. Odumakin, let's do a terse analysis of ur statement. U said "the corruption in South West is far greater than that under PDP".
To start with, I think you are right on the score that there is corruption going on- Afterall,we know it's almost impossible in present day Nigeria for contracts not to be inflated...

But on the score of it being greater now than that under PDP, I beg to disagree! In Oyo state (which Odumakin used as reference point), the former Governor embarked on few cosmetic projects at whooping billions of naira which only lasted for few months. In the same Oyo state, the incumbent has embarked on numerous enduring capital projects without borrowing a dime...! My point is, if a government that is just 2 years old has embarked on more enduring projects than a PDP govt that ruled for 8 years, what more can one say? And if anybody is under the mistaken believe that the present govts in d S/West are enjoying more allocations than their predecessors, can we cast our minds to the huge allocations that states got in 2010/2011...what did they do with it!!!

I'm not in anyway defending ACN- but the truth is, Odumakin's comparison is in bad taste. We were all alive when PDP govts were in power in d west, so Odumakin cannot deceive us with his hogwash .
It is also true that Odumakin and his elder brother (Tunde Bakare) are not in good terms with Bola Tinubu...Thus, d statement is more or less aimed at hitting at Tinubu! But why cut a tree because you want to kill a bird? My major grouse with Odumakin's statement is that he has indirectly given an award of 'better government ' to PDP - and this is not TRUE!

****On the other hand, the continuous tackling of Tinubu and co by people like Odumakin and Bakare will put him on his toes...There is no democracy if leaders and people in govt are not criticised/checked.. Odumakin's comment is particularly more credible since he's seen as an opposition insider! Thus, I pray his statement will lead to increased transparency in ACN govts.
If other Regions in Nigeria have one tenth of government critics / activists like the ones in d South West, Nigeria would be better for it !!! Democracy cannot work in Nigeria if there are no critics /parties and people that will check the excesses of govts....

Celebrities / Re: 23-yr-old Virgin Emerges World Purity Queen by Pedagogue: 10:22am On Jul 18, 2013
Years back, a virginity beauty crown would have been very unnecessary.
But in a world where immorality is now fashionable, d pageant is timely and positive.

As could be seen from some of the posts here, virginity is gradually becoming a subject of laughter...Infact, many gullibly think virginity is lack of opportunity!
But is it? I've seen many extra ugly girls who have sex almost every day with different men..so, that lack of opportunity is crap! We live in a world where some
Men enjoy sex with babies and mad women...No matter how ugly a girl is, there's someone that is crazy about bedding her! .so,pls do show some respect when u
Hear d word ' virgin'-It takes a whole lot of self denial and discipline to be one.

Nevertheless, there are virgins and there are virgins o....Some virgins have done it through their a*s many times...For these type of virgins, their virginity is a facade!
But I must say,old virgins in dis category are few-because most often than not, a girl that has done it through the a*s will eventually get tired of it and go for the main thing later on.

For those that have lost it or was stolen from them, may God give them d fortitude to bear the loss....However,being a virgin will not automatically translate into marital success.
My advice to men- that your GF is no more a 'flower' does not mean she 'll not be a good wife! So,pls go for her if she makes u happy.
Nonetheless, virginity is like the icing on the cake tho...there is a difference between tokunbo and brand new! With Tokunbo, u can never tell the number of previous 'riders' ....But in all, ask yourself this simple question- AM I A VIRGIN?

Politics / Re: IG Summons Amaechi’s Security Details & Chidi Llyod Over Crisis by Pedagogue: 10:12am On Jul 18, 2013
The posture of the IG confirms what Amaechi and his supporters have been saying all along...

Why invite ONLY people from the Governor's camp? Why is the man that declared himself Speaker of 'the house of 5' or at least someone from his caucus not invited?
This is not what neutrality is all about...

Oh yes, I condemn in d strongest terms possible the way and manner d said ( Dis) Honourable Chidi Lloyd hammered his colleague...but why is the IG and co not interested in what led to the uproar and the violent conduct of the 5 lawmakers?

Well, what can one expect when the IG is only acting the Presidency's script?

Politics / Re: Sanusi Wants Naira Redesign Revisited by Pedagogue: 9:58am On Jul 18, 2013
Mr. Sanusi is a confused man.

It seems he will derive personal gains from the re designing of the naira! If the gusto with which he pursued d 5,000 note plan is anything to go by, it appears there is more to this redesigning plan than we know.

After conceding that "counterfeiting was still low per one million notes in the country" , can one say this is immediately necessary ?

As a smart Alec that he is, he sharply added that " the best practice is that within a period of five to eight years, you redesign the currency, because after that period, counterfeiters tend to catch up.” -In order to scare/coerce the legislators so as to to endorse the plan.

But the underlying truth is,if put on a scale of preference...redesigning our notes (plus the polymer notes he spent billions on few years ago) is not an urgent need! If Okonjo IWEALA has been screaming out almost every day that the country is having shortage of funds, why spend billions on a project that is not completely urgent?

Methinks Sanusi should direct his energy on the cashless policy...If more Nigerians embrace POS technology, there wil be less need to use notes ...and this invariably makes counterfeiting less attractive! D problem with people in positions of authority is- they always pursue plans that will benefit them MORE than plans that will benefit the citizenry.

Romance / Re: Is Long Distance Relationship Worth It? by Pedagogue: 8:36pm On Jul 17, 2013
"...knowing fully well that one party would cheat? "

@ Op, so u think the cause of 'cheating' is long distance? Far from it! He/she that will cheat wil cheat - even if the person is living in your nose.

1.Long distance does not have to do with the distance of location...Even if you see your spouse/GF / BF everyday, once his/her mind is far from you, u are in a long distance relationship!

2.Once u enjoy the company of a member of d opposite sex other than your spouse, you are in a long distance relationship!

3. Once u find it difficult to communicate effectively with that person u call GF /BF ,u are in a long distance relationship...even if u sleep together everyday!

@ Op, long distance as a result of location difference is not the reason why relationships/marriages don't work...communication is!

I'm not in any way saying that physical communication is not important...all I'm saying is, Communication is key- Afterall, it is impossible for a man and woman to be glued together- because there are times they may have to be genuinely apart ....Thus, understanding and constant communication is key!Distance is a thing of the mind
