Romance / Re: Wife Tells Husband To Stop "Like"ing Another Married Woman's Facebook Post by PeeDaVinci: 7:23am On Feb 21, 2022
excellence44:
After painfully studying the op's post above, I pen down my humble submission below;
A. That the husband is technically in love with the Texas woman. Distance is no barrier for kongi (especially stolen one)
B. The wife is not jealous and insecure, the signal of a would be cheating partner is too clear for an observing partner to see.
The husband should unfollow the Texas woman for the sake of his own marriage and above all, his mental health (cox these holes ain't worth it)

I've known the Husband and wife now for over 20 years. I stayed together with the Husband in Germany before he brought his wife and kids over, and I can say very confidently, the husband is not the cheating type, Before the wife came to Germany, the kind of work the husband was doing (female team sports training) made us to have a lot of friendly lady visitors, some of them even had a sleepover at our place then. (By the way, I actually dated one of the ladies) but one thing about this husband, is that he never messes with the relationship with his wife (who was in Nigeria then) and whenever we taiked about him not having anything to do with the ladies then, he would always say its not worth it. Funny enough, the wife knew the job the husband was doing in Germany then, and never complained showing that she is not the jealous type.
Romance / Wife Tells Husband To Stop "Like"ing Another Married Woman's Facebook Post by PeeDaVinci: 10:36pm On Feb 20, 2022
Got a couple friend who are having argument and I was told to help resolve the situation and I just want to lean in on this community to help provide other perspective which I may not be seeing before advising them.
To set the context,
My couple freinds live in Germany and they are happily married. The husband once met a lady in a church a while back while in Univ. (who he later discover to be the wife's friend), but the lady does not remember meeting him when he tried to connect with the lady on facebook (that was in 2019), lady accept his friends request though, and since then the husband has never had any conversation with the lady. Lady is happily married too with kids and living in the Texas.

The issue:

The lady in Texas has made over 30 Facebook posts in the past two years, and over 15 photo album posts, and my my couple friend's husband like 5 of the 15 photo album which actually contains the Texas's lady and her family's photo. The Texas lady has never like anything my couple friend posted on Facebook. Last week, the wife told the husband that he is sending wrong signal that he is in love with that Texas lady, and forcing himself on her moreso that the lady didn't even remember meeting him, and that he should stop "Like"ing her photos. and the husband responded by saying how could a happily married woman in Texas (far away from where they are) and with whom he has never communicated, think "Liking" her FB post of family photo albums means he is in love with her, and told her wife she is jealous. And that she has no right to tell him what he does with anybody of FB
Right now, both husband and wife are not backing down from their position

Question I have is that do you think the husband is wrong and he is sending the wrong signal, or do you think that the wife is jealous?

Advice needed, please
Politics / Re: Nigeria’s Problems Not A Matter Of Restructuring, Says Osinbajo by PeeDaVinci: 8:01pm On Aug 27, 2018
there is not one golden bullet solution to nigeria's problem, but several small and significant steps focused on solving bits and pieces of the problems.
Restructuring, if properly done, will minimise the national socio-political and socio-cultural issues that kills every meaningful discussion about what to do to move nigeria forward

Business / Re: Foreign Loan: Why Can't CBN Print The $5.5bn Instead Of Borrowing? by PeeDaVinci: 9:15am On Oct 11, 2017
printing money is different from printing bank notes and coins. Nigerian security and mints deals with printing bank note and coins.
Printing money involves the CBN just creditting an account with some particular amount which they dont have out of thin air with the hope that the account will make the repayment into the thin air where it came from in the future, and CBN can only do that with the currency they control i.e. the naira, and not with the dollars

one point i didnt make in my earlier post -let me explain why they ask for his ID to show you how lenient they are with this dude

-In case you are caught travelling without a valid ticket, they will fine you, but you don't have to pay the fine immediately, and you don't even need to get out of the train (depending on how far you are travelling). With your ID, they will just give you a fine ticket and you can continue with your journey. And because they have established ur identity, they can easily track you to collect the the money later in the future if you dont pay the fine on time.

by the way, I used to have a 1.5 hrs commute to work in Germany for more than 5 years, and I can tell you I have seen them exert what I would regard as excessive force in throwing out white Germans from the trains about 5 times. So, those playing race cards should just keep shut. Ideally, they are supposed to wait for Police though, but sometimes, when the train in running extremely late, they can use force to get you out. By the way those that kicked him out are not inspectors, but they are the security men on the train

Dude,
this is not plagiarism at all. at worst, you can call it inappropriate credit attribution, and i even doubt this is the case, i would say you can describe what he did as "misleading citation" of your work, and you can write the prof that you will want your paper to be properly cited on his sites.
That aside, you paper is your paper, and you can cite it correctly, and provide a link to the paper online in your CV. information obtained from any site other than the publishers site is not an authoritative in determining the main contributor to your research work

Obj did not destroy pdp. Jonathan, his group of advisers and the current leadership of pdp destroyed pdp. However, if Jonathan had been in good terms with Obj from the start, Obj would have saved the party from self-implosion. Most of the politicians who defected from pdp (especially the north central and north east) wouldnt have defected because, believe it or not, Obj is good at mediating settlement between politicians at loggerheads

Health / Re: Nano Silver Can Cure Ebola – Manufacturer by PeeDaVinci: 9:36am On Aug 19, 2014
some things i found on a website about the so-called nano silver and its inventor (who is an american). maybe it may help some pple to make more informed decision.

By every description, Dr. Rima Laibow is controversial and combative. The American doctor ─ who said she has a cure for the Ebola virus disease and whose treatment is now made available to Nigeria by an unnamed donor ─ has been campaigning against the “conspiracy” of conventional drug makers. You guessed right ─ she is into “natural solutions”, or what is better known as alternative medicine. She sells things like “hemp oil” and “organic chocolate” as cure for illnesses. In fact, Nano Silver, which arrived Nigeria on Thursday, is not classified as a drug, because it is not so certified by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ─ the American equivalent of NAFDAC. Rather, Nano Silver is classified as a “supplement”. She calls it “drug-free medicine”. ‘The Power of Ten’ Recently, she started a campaign of “10 PPM” to make Nano Silver available, saying “no one need die from Ebola: You and your friends can stop it”. Under the scheme, you are supposed to “make the pledge of 10″ ─ to get the information about Nano Silver across to 10 people. This is how it works, according to her. Step 1: Secure the protocol for the use of Nano Silver 10 PPM by going to her website and entering your email address. Step 2: Calculate how much Nano Silver 10 PPM you need and make sure you have enough on hand. Step 3: Take the Pledge for 10. Make yourself a promise that you will send out this information on social media and by email, in your club’s website, your PTA or whatever to make sure that at least 10 other people are protected in the same way. “Let’s do the math,” she says. “If 10,000 people protect themselves and enlist 10 each to do the same, we have a hundred thousand who will not die. Then when they share the protection information with enough people that 10 react to each one, we have a million people. Ten of their friends and we have 10 million. One more multiplication and we have 100 million people, 1/3 of the population of the United States.” A bit complicated, it seems, but an unnamed Nigerian has taken the offer and the solution to the Ebola outbreak may be here with us. Nano Silver The Nano Silver, according to Laibow, will work where vaccines do not exist or fail and are effective even when the immune system is impaired, such as in AIDS. “While there are some suggestions of mild risks to the environment, our research shows that they are unfounded and often associated with conflicts of interest since the widespread use and acceptance of Nano Silver directly threatens both the powerful vaccine and antibiotic industries,” she said in a recent open letter to four African presidents. She lists some of the attributes of Nano Silver as follows: It is widely used around the world for its anti-microbial characteristics and is, in fact, approved by the United States FDA as a surface cleaner for hospitals, food service and other health-sensitive areas because of its notable efficacy and non-toxic profile. Sufficient short term protection for an individual outbreak cluster is provided by the use of Nano Silver that an epidemic can be effectively prevented even after infection clusters have been established. Therapy can be started after infection, and normal immune function, including GI flora, is left intact to assist in recovery and prevent opportunistic co-infection. It is stable at room temperature. It offers a potentially beneficial therapy against virtually all types of viruses, bacteria and other pathogens It is self-sterilising, reducing its cost and increasing its usefulness in challenging circumstances. It is a pro-immunity nutrient.

Foreign Affairs / Re: More Ghanaians Renounce Their Nationality - Interior Ministry by PeeDaVinci: 3:44pm On Jul 15, 2014
a lot of the people commenting here are not well informed.

To acquire the citizenship of Germany and Netherlands, one has to renounce ones previous citizenship as dual citizenship is only allowed in rare circumstances. therefore, one will find a lot of foreigners residing in these country (nigerians, ghananians . . .) renouncing their original citizenship in order to obtain the citizenship of a country that not only cares for them, but also provide several opportunities for development for them.

And for a ministry in Ghana to care about this is commendable because our ministries in Nigeria wont even care to collect the statistics, let alone, denoucing the trend and finding ways to stop it

Foreign Affairs / Re: Ghanaian - Nkrumah Is Greater Than Mandela by PeeDaVinci: 10:56am On Dec 13, 2013
I have had this argument with several people in the past couple of days. I told a colleague that Mandela is undoubtedly great, but he is not the greatest African or as great as the press is playing it out, and when he asked me who is then the greatest african, my exact response was that "i dont know but i will rate the likes of Nkrumah above Mandela".
IMO, mandela has not really done anything extra-ordinarily great. Someone said, he was imprisoned for 27 years, and I asked what about the pple who laid down their lives for the same cause. And another said, he led SA out of Apatheid, and I was like, that is exactly ahmadu bello, awolowo, shagari, enahoro . . . did. Another said also, he forgave the pple who imprisoned him, and i said, that is exactly the reason why they released him - to reconcile the blacks and whites, the whites were tired of the lack of peace during the apartheid, and they chose Mandela to bridge the divide in SA. An another said, he chose to be the President for just one term, and I replied, that is a rare virtue among african leaders, but that doesnt make him extra-ordinary and there are countries whose leaders resigned voluntarily before the end of a single term presidency.

Dont get me wrong, Mandela is great not because of who he is or what he has done, but what he represents - "freedom", and Africans gave him that "representation" during his incarceration because they wanted to see the end of the apartheid regime. He is just like the Queen who is a great woman not because of who she really is as a person, but what she represents.

I ask over and over, what has Mandela actually done for Africa, the western press eulogizes mandela because of influence of south african press in the western world. and these western media are the same ones who vilified him during apartheid, and now, suprisingly, on bbc journalist even likened him to Jesus.

to sum up, Mandela is a very very great man, but not as great as the press made it to be.

ballabriggs: Headline is misleading.

What the man has said here is not that there is high or low likelihood of these banks failing but about the consequences and impact of failure of these banks as they hold a significant percentage of aggregate savings in the system.

With high consequences of failure brings the need to monitor these banks effectively. Basic in risk management.

Abel202: My people, Let's be reasonable here. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is one of the best Central Bank Governors we've had. Charles Soludo was also a great CBN Governor. Lamido Sanusi has won the best central bank governor for Africa on several occassions. It is not for nothing that he keeps winning it. Sanusi is one of the finest brains that has come out from the North & Nigeria. He more than merits his post as Central Bank governor and no reasonable person can say otherwise.
If he says he doesn't wanna join politics, I think I understand him. Just look at what is happening to Charles Soludo then you will understand Sanusi perfectlly well that being a good Central Banker does not equal to being a good politician. Also look at what happened to Dora Akunyili in spite of her great strides in NAFDAC, yet she lost the Senatorial sit to a smart politian in the mold of Ngige. The Nigerian political terrain is way too rough for a competent and refined individual, this is quite unfortunate.
The only problem I have with Sanusi is that he is a loud mouth and he is rather the arrogant type. But his competency is not in doubt. And boy he is very eloquent. I wish him good luck in his future endeavours.

afaik, No Work No Pay Rule is the rule in the western countries, so, i guess they are barbaric. imo, you should only be paid for the number of days you work. i am aware that this gives the govt some undue privileges, but i believe fair is fair, you dont work, you dont eat.
the fight to save the university should not be fought in collaboration with all the stakeholders in university education- students, nasu, parents, even industries. and in case they are not really willing to be part of the fight, there are ways that ASUU can use to force them to join in this fight without going on strike "technically" e.g. delaying exams indefinitely because of some course modules that can not be taught given the current funding, not releasing exam results, slowing down the curriculum, giving students assignments that cant be solve because of university funding, not graduating students etc.
