European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Your Predictions For EPL by PeeDaVinci(op): 1:23pm On Aug 14, 2012
As the premier League 2012/2013 season kicks off this weekend, here are my predictions:
1. Arsenal will finish above Chelsea again this season and will compete closely with Man Utd. and Man. Shitty. Could finish above one of the Manchester clubs.
2. Roberto Di Matteo will most likely not finish the season as Chelsea coach. Last CL was only a fluke.
3. Kagawa will be best newcomer in the EPL 2012/2013. Podolski will shine,Cazorla will shine but I tip Giroud and Hazard to flop at least this season. I will not rate an expensive but unproven player like Oscar yet.

let me give a narrative to explain what i love about him
1995 December, he (with barely no savings and 5 children) lost his job, yet we had the best xmas and new year celebrations, and none of us knew he had no job until he found another 4 months after he lost his previous job.
till today, i still ask him how he managed

PoliticsRe: GEJ’s Adviser To Stand Surety For Suspected Subsidy Fraudster by PeeDaVinci: 1:06pm On Aug 02, 2012
i have never been a fan of gej, and i will never be. however on this, i believe there is nothing wrong with the adviser's decision. the accused is not guilty until the court proves him guilty, and if the adviser believes that the accused has not stolen any money, he should stand by his friend (accused)
however, one more thing that the adviser has to do is to resign his position though - so as to clear this govt from any complicity in the trials of the accused!

this tells me a lot about the rationale and logic behind many of gej's decision. the point is this - even if the woman is not controlling gej, she will have a considerable amount of influence on gej's decision, and if this is the way she reasons . . . . i smh

actually, the reverse (not opposite) of your conclusion is what he is inferring i.e. The opposition (ACN, NCP, CPC . . . ) is the BH

i see that anti-dangote sentiments is rife on this subject, and i am not supporting him either. However, to help us make better judgement of this situation, i will like to know the following
- is the import duty waiver common to all who import cement or it is just for ibeto
- what will be the impact of the waiver on the economy. (given the fact that local cement companies provides jobs for graduates, but importing cement leads to capital flight, and exposing the local companies to intl competitions will kill the companies)

PoliticsRe: Audio Of $3M Conversation Between Lawan & Otedola (Part 2) by PeeDaVinci: 12:06pm On Jul 04, 2012
brabus: Thinking mode activated. Wondering what I'm think?

How do I convince a fool? But I think all the answer to your questions are already provided by you. If only you can think straight.

Let me educate you once again.

1. The bribe was paid for a reason which Otedola must wait for its full implementation before the crackdown. It wasn't enough for Otedola to claim Farouk demanded bribe from him. A sane person would ask 'For what?'
And the answer would be to exonerate Otedola, to delist him which your silly man did after receiving the bribe. Had it been that Otedola paid Farouk after removing Zenon Oil from the list, the case would have been different.

So, ask yourself? Will Farouk had requested that Zenon Oil (Otedola's company) be removed from the list if there was a crackdown?
Will you have believed the story if Farouk hadn't request on the floor of the House that Zenon Oil be removed from the list? Why? Was that also scripted or doctored?

2. You think $600k is a lot of money. That's just NGN98m »» about 1000 bails of N1000 notes. If he's paying in $100 bills, that's just 60 bails.
You think that's too much for SSS to provide. You see why its so hard to convince you.

3. The case is between Otedola and Farouk and not SSS vs Farouk. That explains the reason why Otedola simply decided to deal with the culprit and not the committee.

4. You ask why Otedola feel threatened if he wasn't guilty. Hmm!
I know your type, you can also ask a kidnapped person why he decided to pay a ransom when he knew he wasn't guilty. You definitely need to research more on what a Sting Operation is.

Bros, I'm done with you. You sound like Facrook himself tonguetonguetonguetongue
- bros, it does no good to insult pple who hold a different opinion on issues.
- i can respond to the issues you raised, but, i think we are gonna be here forever, as none of us would shift ground
- we both want the same thing - that nigeria should be better, we just have different interpretation of the events that transpired. u believe it is a sting operation and otedola is innocent, and i say it is no sting operation, and otedola is as guilty as farook and both of them should do some time in prison

PoliticsRe: No Evidence Yet To Prosecute Lawan – Police by PeeDaVinci: 10:59am On Jul 04, 2012
i posted this before and i am posting it again

both otedola and farouk shold be locked up.
given the information in the public domain at the moment, this is what i believe to be the sequence of events that took place :

- otedola stole some oil subsidy money from FG (this is probably not based on his unsubsidized diesel imports )
- farouk implicated otedola in their initial oil subsidy report
- either farouk demanded for bribe or otedola initiated the move to pay bribe and 3 million dollar amount was agreed on
- otedola never wanted to pay the full 3 million from outset, and set out to record their transaction/meetings
- farouk collected part payment (bills whose numbers are known), settled the necessary lawmakers and then removed otedola's name
- farouk then demanded for the balance, and otedola was playing him and maybe later told him he would not pay him
- farouk threatened to re-include otedola's name in the report
- otedola went to the SSS friend to help him deal with lawan, providing them with his recordings, and he was fast enough to make the first move by releasing the bribery info into public domain
- otedola doctored/removed some of his recordings to make himself appear innocent and goes to the court of public sympathy which is ripened with hatred for the lawmakers
- police knows that to sucessfully prosecute lawan, they have to prosecute otedola too and they do not want to do that

just ask yourself these questions

- why would otedola come out to the open one month after the removal of his name from the subsidy report
- why would otedola feel threatened by lawan to pay bribe if he is innocent since lawan's report will anyway, recommend that they be prosecuted, and he can prove his innocence in court
- if it was a sting operation jointly planned with SSS, why didn't the SSS arrest Lawan immediately he collected the money or immediately he moved the motion to absolve otedola in the house
- how on earth would you think SSS will provide a 600,000 marked dollars, and would wait one month before making any attempt to collect back the money (just to show you that the money is from otedola, and i am sure nobody)
- if it was a sting operation, the SSS and not otedola will be dealing with the police. but funny enough, the contrary is the case
- why is otedola releasing the recordings bit by bit
- whyis he not releasing the whole conversation in the the two phone calls released thus far
- what happened in the 55th second of the second recordings- some conversation was removed there
PoliticsRe: Audio Of $3M Conversation Between Lawan & Otedola (Part 2) by PeeDaVinci: 10:53am On Jul 04, 2012
brabus: How old are you sir? On what ground do you prosecute Otedola. What are your facts?

Your baseless accusations

- He doctored/removed some of his recordings to make himself...
- He went to SSS to help him deal with Farouk...
- Otedola stole some of subsidy ...

Let me educate you here. Not all crimes leave easy trails of evidence behind.

Prostitution or bribery, for instance, is nearly
impossible to prove without direct evidence of
money being exchanged for sexual services or whatsoever.
The only way Otedola can prove his innocence is to setup a sting operation into the situation. He did all that is required of him:

- Informed the SSS
- Obtained marked money to pay Farouk
- Setup surveillance system to record the transactions. And decided to pay the sum instalmentally. Why do think a man like Otedola decided to pay just N98m instalmentally?
- Recorded voluminous audios and videos to support his claim.
- Was first to report the issue to the public
- Provided evidences
- Requested for public hearing on the issue.

Tell me what Farouk has done to prove his innocence. You were quick to mention Farouk was entrapped, but let it be known that the said money was not paid at once. It was paid instalmentally.
dude, don't be fooled by otedola the way we were all fooled by lawan's probe - read between the lines

- why would otedola come out to the open one month after the removal of his name from the subsidy report
- why would otedola feel threatened by lawan to pay bribe if he is innocent since lawan's report will anyway, recommend that they be prosecuted, and he can prove his innocence in court

- if it is a sting operation, the SSS and not otedola will be dealing with the police. but funny enough, the contrary is the case

i tell you , farouk should be shot, and otedola locked up for many many years

they are still waiting for uk to help do the prosecution, arent they? these guys make me sick !!! someone admitted to collecting bribe, and you are saying you have no evidence?? forget the tape (it has been doctored) and the SSS (believe me, SSS was not involved from outset, but otedola brought them in when he was about to phuck lawan up), but lawan's admission to collecting the money, his subsequent action in the house (motion to remove otedola's company), his refusal to give up the money and the claim by chairman of the house that he was never informed about the bribe is more than enough to lock lawan up for the rest of his sorry-ass life

the op took fashola's statement out of context. he used the argument for the creation of more local govt to counter the popular argument for creation of more states which is "we want the govt to be closer to the pple". in other words, he was saying if you want the govt to be closer to the people, creating more local govt will be a better idea as opposed to creating more states.

Which village secondary school did you attend. It is necessary to make political science/government compulsory in our secondary school curriculum so we wont have people like you in future.
in plain simple english (though it can be more complicated than this) - it is the duty of the executive to prosecute, judiciary just moderates the prosecution and gives the verdict

it will be almost impossible task for the ecowas to defeat the militants in mali given the desert terrains which generations of tuaregs have carefully mastered. the best ecowas can do is to take major cities, and that will lead to some form of coordinated sporadic attacks from the militants on the major cities. the only chance i see is negotiate with the jihadists and tuaregs and give them some form of democratic autonomy in mali- i believe this will be difficult too, but i believe its chance of success is higher than a military solution
