Politics › Re: BREAKING: Northern Senators Forum Reject Military Intervention In Niger by Penguin2: 10:09pm On Aug 04, 2023 |
Lol!
I was just discussing this with a friend. I told him that the Senate might not approve Tinubu’s request and there’s nothing Rubber Stamp Akpabio can do to help him.
The calculation is simple.
APC has 59 senators or thereabout.
The opposition has 50 senators.
The northern senators in APC after meeting with northern stakeholders will never support military action in Niger because they will suffer it most.
Any war in Niger will see people of Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, etc, becoming displaced because those states will be the flashpoint.
Now, add about 20 northern senators in APC to 50 opposition senators, you will get 70.
Any bill with 70 senators against it is dead on arrival. |

Tinubu is showing disdain for the Armed Forces, I hope they don’t return the favour to him someday.
First, he appointed an ex police officer to supervise them as NSA.
Now he’s going to appoint a civilian as Minister of Defence.
From my knowledge of history and power, this is a recipe for disaster.
But what do I know? |
Travel › Re: Memoirs From Chile by Penguin2: 7:53pm On Aug 04, 2023 |
tensazangetsu20: Six months to a year. Sweden is very okay but much more expensive than Chile. Universities in Sweden are at least 20000 euros per year and that's just for tuition. You still have to sort out your proof of funds and the visa is not assured. You can do everything right and still be denied a visa. That 20000 euros in Chile will take you to university of Chile or pontifica catholica which are the best universities in south America and Chile and both universities are in the top 200 in the world.
I think if you can afford Sweden, you shouldn't be thinking of Chile. Chile is an alternative for people with not much money and is a solid transit point to any country.
For instance, in Chile you can get permanent residency after your program. 3 years on permanent residency and you can be a citizen. With a Chilean passport you can work in Canada without needing an LMIA and work in the US on a H1B1 visa which is just for chileans and singaporeans. You can also visit both countries without needing a visa. Chilean citizens only need to live in Spain for two years to get Spanish citizenship. Once you can get Spanish citizenship you can work anywhere in the EU especially in the much richer places like Switzerland or Luxembourg. Chileans rarely take advantage of any of these programs. For instance chileans have been exempt from LMIA in Canada since 1997 due to the Chilean Canadian trade agreement and there's still less than 30000 chileans in Canada. They don't migrate there. Also for H1B1, singaporeans use up their spots more than chileans. Chileans don't apply for it since most of them can't speak English.
Chile is a very solid stepping stone to anywhere in the world once you get the passport and is not too expensive or popular yet. My goodness! Bro you are just phenomenal. God bless you for putting in this much effort to research these things. You have everything figured out already. Please how much do I need for everything? That’s from application in school to flight ticket. How much should I budget if I wanna try Chile? Do I need proof of fund? |

You can imagine the bunch of primitive thinkers managing Lagos. Now why won’t the state be in a state of comatose if its managers have this kind of primitive and animistic mentality?
In the 21st century, a bombastic fool who is married to a yabaleft patient and an assistant drug dealer to Ebola Tinubu, is still ascribing natural phenomenon to “spiritual arrows”.
This kind of primitivism and animism existed only in Ancient Greece where even rain was seen as the gods urinating.
But since Sir Isaac Newton’s Principia Mathematica in the 18th centuries, natural occurrences such as this act of negligence that resulted in Dr Vwaere’s death, stopped being ascribed to the gods.
But this fool, that is married to a mental patient, is trying to hide their denigration of duty to some inexistent arrows, and fools are here defending her.

dashkk: A few days after President Umar Musa Yar’Adua reportedly ordered the cancellation of the controversial sale of the Port Harcourt and Kaduna refineries, he has directed the Accountant-General of the Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo, to immediately release to Lagos State government its seized local government funds amounting to N10.8 billion.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo had ordered the withholding of almost N33 billion of the state’s local government funds over the creation of local government areas. Although the state later reverted to the original 20 local government areas, while converting the new ones to development areas, Obasanjo only ordered the release of a part of the money. He refused to obey the order of Supreme Court for the release of the funds.
Also, he ignored the pleas of well-meaning Nigerians. In ordering the release of the funds, Yar’Adua said he gave the directive because he discovered, after seeking the opinion of relevant ministries on the matter, that the withholding of the balance of N10, 829, 527, 300.43 of the Lagos funds was illegal.
Special Adviser to the President on Communications, Mr. Segun Adeniyi, who revealed this in Abuja on Monday, while briefing State House correspondents, said: ‘Let me use this forum to announce that the president this morning (on Monday) directed the office of the Accountant-General of the Federation to release, with immediate effect, the withheld local government funds of Lagos State totaling N10,829,527,300.43."
Adeniyi, however, said Federal Government could not grant the Lagos State government’s request for the payment of interest because the withheld funds were not put into an interest-yielding account. "Lagos was asking for interest, which is not going to be granted because the money was not put into an interest-yielding account. But the important thing is that the president sought the opinions of all the relevant ministries on whether it is legal to hold this money and they all said that it is illegal. So why do we hold on to it?" he queried.
Adeniyi also denied the story making the rounds that the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Engr. Funso Kupolokun, has been relieved of his appointment. He said: "I can tell you categorically that the story making the rounds that Engr. Kupolokun has been removed is not true. He is still the managing director of the NNPC as of today. There is no directive that he should hand over to anybody." FreestuffsNG Favor914 Christistruth03 Even your source corroborates my report that it was Local Government funds that were seized and not entire Lagos State allocation. |
