I'm afraid I'd have to disagree with you.

From my understanding as a Christian, it's very wrong to shut down a church. If the pastor in charge violated the rules of the ministry, he should be pulled out from that branch, suspended and another pastor should be sent there to replace him.

When you shut down the church, what do you expect the committed members to do? Where do you expect them to worship?

I'm just imagining going to my church on Sunday and I see the place close and they tell me our Regional Overseer closed the place because he had an issue with our branch pastor, I'll just look for another church and attend.

The Catholic Church is the biggest loser here, cos if Adoration ministry remains shut till next month, they'll loose all their committed members to other churches.
You are talking as a Pentecostal without an iota of understanding of how the Catholic Church functions.

First, Mbaka’s Adoration ground is not a parish. There are parishes around there for faithfuls to attend masses on Sundays. The Adoration Ground is just a place of prayer.

Second, anyone who leaves the Catholic Church because Mbaka’s Adoration ground was closed was never a Catholic in the first place.

The Church did not start today to see schisms.

lol , a lot of ibos in other regions don't know their offense because it was ingrained in them by their parents while they were young, forgetting You don't teach a child hate or revenge, they remind them of the war and how their host killed their ancestors but forgetting the abuse was both ways , regardless of that all other regions accepted them and let them mix with them without inhibitions..... Enough of that gospel.
The average Igbo in a Yoruba land feels he's superior to his Yoruba counterparts to the extent that he abuses their culture, food (ofe nmanu, amala and ewedu) , elders, upto their traditional institutions this is quite funny because no matter how successful a Yoruba is he can't disrespect his elders like wise other regions.
Amidst all of these Biafra is still in their mind which other regions still believe it's not just a cause . It's the duty of a ruler to always protect his territory because we don't have external wars in Africa doesn't mean we should let go off this principle.
Is this what Igbos did that made you people go to scatter their votes in 2019?

Can you show me evidence of any Igbo person insulting any Yoruba king or elder anywhere in Yoruba land?

You know that Tinubu’s saving grace at the APC Primaries is because Buhari men worked at cross purposes against each other because they couldn’t agree on one person until it was too late.

Again, Tinubu had enough dollar to buy about 1200 delegates but doesn’t mean he will buy voters too.

As far as Nigeria is concerned the Tinubu and his daughter are detribalized just like the average Yoruba. There are limits to what a visitor can do in your home before you get angry and remind them this is your house . No other tribe can take what the Yorubas are taking in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo , Ekiti, Ondo and Osun. You can't go to Kano state or Abuja and say it to the face of an indigene that it's a no man's land. So Remi outburst is humane. The Ibos in Lagos where ready to vote against the Yoruba choice and voted against the Yoruba candidate amidst the level playing ground given to everyone to thrive , yes they are Nigerians and stake holders in Lagos also but the effontery of going against the wishes of the land owners is too much in the north, south south or south east it would have turned to riot .
What is the offense of Igbos in Southwest?

Name them…

Because they came out to vote a person of their choice?

Even though I'm still on the sidelines , I must say that a lot of guys that I know that hate politics and those that were supporting Osinbajo have joined the Obi movement.

To add to what you've said, the current President of Chile, Gabriel Boric, didn't win election from a major party, he won with an unknown party he founded himself with some smaller coalitions and no structure whatsoever. Emmanuel Macron nkor? Was he not a rookie in French politics? He formed a new party in 2016 without the so-called structure people keep talking about and used it to win French presidential election in 2017. Ukrainian Volodymyr Zelenskyy used the title of his comedy TV show to form a new party in 2018 and from there contested and won election the following year. There are several other examples I wouldn't want to go into.

Why do people always think Nigeria case is different? Do we continue to do the same thing and expect different results? Why not try a different way and see if it's going to give us a better life?
Thank you for for calling my attention to these men too.

What you need to know is that in Nigeria, we all cry about bad leadership but when we see someone good, we bring our primordial sentiments into the whole thing rather than be objective.

Between Atiku, Kwankwaso, Tinubu and Peter Obi, any reasonable Nigerian would admit that Obi stands towers above the rest but some people are not supporting him just because he’s not one of their own.

I am so loving this.

In 2019, Nayib Bukele, now president of El Salvador, was expelled from one of the two major parties of the country and he had no choice but run on a third party that had no structure no elected official.

Based on his antecedents when he was Mayor of the Country’s capital, he was popular among the youth and took Twitter by storm.

The two major political parties, who have taken turns to rule the country since 1982, dismissed his online popularity and argued his party doesn’t have structure.

But to their consternation, when results of election came in, Nayib Bukele won majority votes and was declared president-elect.

He took office in 1 June, 2019.

I see idiots and Tinubu irredeemable urchins and social irritants coming under my mention to convulse how Nigeria is not El Salvador.

But I ask them to hold their peace and watch Peter Obi sworn-in on 29th May, 2023.

Politics › Obi/kwankwaso Or Osinbajo/kwankwaso, Which Ticket Stands A Better Chance? by Penguin2(op): 8:28pm On Jun 28, 2022
Yesterday we read some whispers of how Kwankwaso is ready to step down for Osinbajo to be NNPP presidential candidate while he (Kwankwaso) would be his running mate. The writer claimed that the reason was because Kwankwaso believes that Osinbajo is the most sellable candidate across the length and breath of Nigeria right now.

While this might be mere speculations, I want us, politically sound people and not some biased blind supporters of any politician, to look at the prospects that either of this ticket offers and determine which of the tickets stands a better chance at victory in the 2023 presidential elections.

Some things to consider are, first, consider the fact that since 1954 till the 2019 elections, the Southeast and Southsouth have always voted in the same direction in general elections and that is not looking like it’s about to change in 2023. Now these two regions seem to have arguably adopted Peter Obi as their candidate as demonstrated in the upsurge of youths from this two regions registering for their permanent voters card.

Second, the Nigerian youths seem to have adopted Peter Obi as their candidate/project for 2023 and while it is general knowledge that Osinbajo is equally a darling of the youth, I do not think he can upset the youth support for Peter Obi as the Peter Obi train seems to have left the station.

Again, consider the fact that Igbos, who constitute the second highest voting population in Lagos and every other state in Nigeria after the indigenes, seem to have recovered from their voter apathy and are ready to come out and vote in 2023 to prove a point after both APC and PDP overlooked people from their region because they felt they do note have the numbers.

Then, consider that Osinbajo is from same Southwest as candidate Bola Tinubu of the APC which would only mean that Osinbajo would end up splitting Southwest/Yoruba votes.

Lastly, consider the fact that APC, PDP and NNPP having fielded Muslim candidates, Nigerian Christians seem to have adopted Peter Obi as their candidate for 2023. Now, Osinbajo’s entrance into the race will only end up splitting the votes of Christians who would ordinarily have voted in one direction for Obi.

In conclusion, when you consider all these points dispassionately, you would realize that Peter Obi is coming with the entire Southeast (90%), Southsouth (60%), the votes of Igbos in other parts of Nigeria (99%) and northern Christian votes (80%) while Osinbajo can only guarantee Southwest votes ( 30%) and northern Christians vote (40%, with Obi getting 60% since he will still be on the ballot).

Now, if you were Kwankwaso’s strategist, which deal would you advise him to do?

Penguin is a bird of reason!

You are reiterating what I said... I agree.
The Police is Constitutionally empowered to investigate any crime(s) whether or whether not the State House of Assembly is on it.

This is very untrue. The Supreme Court of Nigeria have never heard a case against Tinubu wrt the issue at hand. He was joined in the suit and the particulars of the Certificate was not the subject matter in Court.

The celebrated case here is Gani Fawehinmi v IGP, not even Tinubu. Permit me to go down memory lane.....

The petition was written and Fawehinmi forwarded same to the LSHOA and the Nigerian Police on 21 September, 1999 giving the Police 14 days to make public its findings. Before that, the contents of Gani's letter on 13 September 1999;
“The issue of immunity does not arise yet at the stage of investigation. Your duty at this stage is to conduct an investigation into the matter and make the outcome thereof public.”

On 27 September, 1999; The Police replied Fawehinmi that:
1. By virtue of Section 308, Tinubu cannot be investigated.
2. By virtue of Section 188 (removal of Governor) and Section 308, only the LSHOA can investigate Tinubu and act.
3. That Fawehinmi does not have the locus standi since he was neither a Governorship Candidate nor a member of AD.
4. That Fawehinmi cannot issue an Order of Mandamus following 3 above.

The Supreme Court ruled;
1 & 2. Every person in Nigeria, including the President can be investigated. Investigation does not mean one is guilty or a criminal. The SC still emphasised that members under S308 cannot be tried, imprisoned, arrested or charged to Court. Not even the investigation by any other agency or LSHOA can stop the Police from investigating a crime.

3. That it is the duty of every Nigerian to stamp out crime from the society hence, crime can be reported by any Nigerian to the Police. Hence, Fawehinmi or any Nigerian had the locus to lay a complaint to the Police.

4. That the Police under the Constitution is not compelled to make public any of its findings. Mandamus is a judicial remedy in the form of an order from a court to any government, subordinate court, corporation, or public authority, to do some specific act which that body is obliged under law to do, and which is in the nature of public duty, and in certain cases one of a statutory duty. The SC said Gani must show that he will suffer more than the general interests of Lagosians if the Order is granted. The SC re-echoed that thousands voted for Tinubu so he should show why that Order will make him suffer more than the rest. He had no statutory rights based on Section 59(1) of the Criminal Procedure Law of Lagos @ the time. The Appeal was dismissed.

In 2012, a Dominic Adegbola petitioned the Police again and went to the Federal High Court, Lagos and it was struck out. The man wasn't bringing up a new case, he was trying to enforce Gani's case of 2002 in 2013...a Judicial Review. Order 34, Rule 4 of the FHC Civil Procedure Laws, says it must be brought forth within 3 months.

You seem in a rush to latch onto issues that were not canvassed for here. There is only a singular issue here, the disinformation.

Tinubu's Certificate saga is more a moral burden than a legal issue. That there is something suspicious is not enough, to say he has perjured which is a criminal offence and must be proven beyond every reasonable doubts. His qualification criteria was not brought forth for interpretation here, he is qualified to contest if anyone feels a crime has been committed, he/she can head to Court.

Only the Nigerian Police can unravel the mystery, without which the matter will end the way it is, social media.

The very wrong information has been passed on for some days now, the reason I took my time to explain.

The case that Tinubu has to answer now is the case of perjury.

He swore under oath that he attended Primary and Secondary schools in Ibadan in 1999.

Fast forward to 2022, in another oath, Tinubu yanked off the primary and secondary schools he claimed he attended in 1999.

Is that, too, not a case?

Besides, since we want to work with Tinubu’s graduate certificate, where did he do his NYSC?

No sir. What Mr. Obasanjo did was just economic cosmetology.
Very good as they were, the problems were far deeper than that.
The issues were and still are fundamental first and structural overall, so his solutions back then only cleared the first hurdle and thus were not sustainable.

For want of time, I will just illustrate;
He merely fumigated to kill the pests of debts, but did not cut the grass of financial waste, clear the bushes of an over-bloated public service, leaving a dirty financial environment as a fundamental error, fit for the bugs of debt to shortly reappear.

Worse still he did not drain the swamp across the fence meaning the very structural problems afflicting the Nigeria state that makes productivity near impossible thus making public debts almost always inevitable.

So fumigating the bushes of public expenditure just made the bugs take cover in the swamp to await a change of government, and the next rains of global financial upheavals and boom we are back to crushing debts.

Even if you brought back OBJ today the best he will do will be to fumigate again (if possible) and we will enjoy a better balance sheet for just a season. We have deeper issues that keep this nation in perpetual decline decade on decade which go way deeper than public debt and successive repayment drama.
