You're wrong. There's no Igbo in Delta State. Osanebi is an Ukwuani man, from Ndokwa East LGA. He's from the part some of you call Igbo. Another area you're wrong is that PDP already picked their candidate for deputy governor, in the person of Monday Onyeme, also an Ukwuani man.
Tell that to Okowa.

kawkab:
Bros, Friday Osanebi is from Ndokwa East. He from the Ukwuani block of the Igbo ppeaking part of Delta State. I think both parties are strategesing to counter each other.

The PDP Flag Bearer Sheriff Oborevwori is from Usubi, which is from the Okpe block of the Urhobo Nation (Delta Central) and his Deputy is Sir Monday Onyeme is from Ibabu in Onicha-Ukwuani town in Ndokwa West Local Government (Delta North).

Senator Omo Agege is from Orogun in Ughelli South Local Government Area. So you can see both parties are trying to check mate one another.

However, one thing that would work against Omo-Agege in Ukwuani/Ndokwa nation where both deputies hails from is the believe that Senator Omo-Agege used his influence to work against the siting of a Federal Polytechic in Aboh, but rather influenced the relocation to his hometown of Orogun. However, he has promised towards the building a step-down power station around Aboh to aid the power supply to the Ndokwa nation. Please, Okpai (a town in Ndokwa East LGA) houses the Okpai Power Station which one of the major power generation stations in Nigeria, yet the Ndokwa Nation/Ukwuani people suffers from gross electricity shortage.

APC focus would be to entice the aggrieved elements in PDP that are dissatisfied with the emergence of Hon Sheriff Oborowevri as Governoship Candidate of PDP and also work towards securing the buy-in of the Ijaw Nation.

In the Politics of Ndokwa nation Hon Friday Osanebi is more popular and influential than Sir Monday Onyeme. Note also that Osanebi is a PDP man.
Thank you for this detailed explanation.

It’s highly appreciated.
Politics › Peter Obi Or Tinubu, Who Would Wike Support? by Penguin2(op):
With the recent tweet of Ayo Fayose who is a staunch Wike ally, and the fact that Wike recent held closed door meetings with Peter Obi and Kwankwaso, Wike’s body language is seeming like he might not support Atiku for the 2023 presidency.

Like, what’s in Atiku’s presidency for him that others can’t give? Because as it stands, the only thing Atiku will offer Wike is a ministerial position which either of Obi or Tinubu can still offer if he throws his weight behind either of them and they win. If anything, Wike has been a minister and now a governor. So being a minister doesn’t freak him. Just that this time it will be a juicy position like Petroleum instead of Education he occupied under GEJ.

Now, on Peter Obi, Wike said a lot of disparaging things about Peter Obi during the PDP Primaries but we can dismiss that as things that come with politicking.

But why do I think Wike might support Peter Obi?

I’m gonna make it easier for you by itemizing it.

First, they were in same party but only went apart less than two months ago.

Second, the close affinity between Southeast and Southsouth.
Yes. You can’t dismiss that and you can’t wish it away. Because since the 1950s till date, the Southsouth and Southeast have always voted in same direction in general elections. So, that regional fraternity is there and might influence Wike’s choice.

Third, bulk of Wike allies are Igbo.
Men like Ugwuanyi and Ikpeazu, even the PDP national secretary, Sam Anyanwu, is Wike’s ally and many others. You cannot dismiss the influence that these men would have on Wike if he is going to support any other person than Atiku. I do not think Wike will leave the welfare and interests of the constituents of these his friends to support Tinubu for instance.

Fourth, it might serve as Wike’s last chance to make reparations for Obigbo.
Believe it or not, Igbos used to carry Wike matter for head like gala until Obigbo happened and Wike told the world he’s “not Igbo”. Say whatever you wanna, but Wike and strategists know that he has more to gain being part of the larger Igbo family than segregating from it. The choice is his and he is a man of his own but I think it’s the wise thing to do. So, throwing his weight behind Peter Obi would be the hissop that would wash Wike’s scarlet sins to be as white as snow amongst the Igbos and he would be forgiven. But throwing his weight behind Tinubu would be Wike stabbing the Igbos at the heart a second time which will further alienate Wike from the Igbos.

Next, is the pulse of Rivers people.
The next question that Wike would have to ask himself before making a choice is ask who the Rivers people are more disposed to voting. Are Rivers people more disposed to voting Tinubu or Peter Obi? When Wike has answered that question, it would help him make a choice that would be popular amongst his people. Or what’s the need in swimming against the tide?

Then There Is An Amaechi In APC
Wike and Amaechi have spent the last 7 years, since 2015, being on each other’s neck and case. I do not see how you would want reconcile both of them and have them under the APC roof? Who will be the Leader of APC in Rivers? Whose men will be in charge of APC and how will they share things amongst themselves? All these headaches won’t be there if Wike moves to Labour Party which is without a Leader in Rivers, Southsouth and even entire Southern Nigeria. In Labour Party, Wike will be the new lord. But in APC, he will just be another defector. However, when you remember that Kwankwaso and Ibrahim Shekarau are now in same party, you’d know nothing is impossible in politics.

Lastly, Wike’s aversion for APC.
Not just Wike but most Nigerians are tired of the APC. It’s on record that Wike once described APC as a ‘cancer’ and PDP a ‘headache’; he then queried, “why would I leave headache for cancer?” I know you would say other politicians have said worst things about rival parties but still joined it but we would have to watch and see if Wike will join the pack.

Why I think Wike Might Consider Tinubu

First, Wike respects Tinubu a whole lot and I don’t know why.
This respect is not overt but I discovered it the day I watched Wike’s interview that lasted for above an hour and each time the interviewers asked Wike questions regarding Tinubu that he would have ordinarily latched on to lambast Tinubu, he would play around it and end with “I have huge respect for him”. Again, think through, as temperamental as Wike is, and has insulted almost every living soul in Nigeria, have you ever heard of a single ill word that Wike said about Tinubu? I bet you have not. Maybe this had escaped your notice but now you know.

Second, some Wike’s allies like Fayose and Makinde are Yorubas.
Which among Wike’s allies have more influence on him than others? Is it his Igbo allies or his Yoruba allies? Would they work in harmony or would allies of each tribe wanna support one of their own? Would Fayose and Makinde wanna support Tinubu and therefore try to influence Wike to do the same? This is another factor that would influence who Wike would support.

Third, APC Is A Ruling Party.
Wike might wanna think that since APC is a ruling party, throwing his weight behind the party might be the safest option to take if he wants to play anti-party. We all know APC and the brand of politics they play. As much as we are hoping for a free, fair and transparent elections, do not rule out APC playing some abracadabra just to retain power. Now, Wike might not wanna gamble by supporting a Labour Party that is not grounded enough hence, he might decide to toe the path he feels is sure.

Fourth, To Make The Yoruba His Allies.
Wike might wanna believe that throwing his weight behind Tinubu might warm him into the hearts of more Yoruba people and end up bringing the Yoruba to his side and them his allies in case of future contests. It will be the perfect handshake across the Niger. The question Wike would have to ask himself is which would be more profitable to him; alliance with the Yoruba or alliance with the Igbo? Again Wike would also have to know that Tinubu already has a lot boys and men to settle which would make it difficult for Wike to get anything tangible from Tinubu’s presidency.

Other than these four reasons, I see no other reason Wike might wanna support Tinubu but you can add yours.

Conclusively, I would say that if Wike is wise and strategic, he should align with Obi, Kwankwaso and co and become the new shot callers in Nigeria if they succeed than serve as just another of Tinubu’s many boys.

Penguin is a bird of reason.

DEPUTY Senate President and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has picked immediate past Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Friday Osanebi as his running mate for the 2023 general elections.

Omo-Agege, in a statement, said Osanebi emerged from a painstaking internal vetting process in which many notable and highly qualified Deltans were also considered.

The statement read in parts: “It is my pleasure to announce to our people that The Rt. Honourable Friday Ossai Osanebi is my nominated running mate and the Deputy Governorship candidate of APC for the 2023 Delta State Governorship election.

“This momentous decision is for the greater good of all our people and consistent with our unshakeable faith in the immense leadership strengths, innovative energies and resourceful spirit of the youths of this great country.

“He therefore undoubtedly fits perfectly into our ‘EDGE to BAND’ transformational agenda to reorganize our dear State. His life and beliefs clearly complement my vision of Delta State as a land of respect for and investment in all our people and their interests.

” He brings huge leadership capital to the table in our collective quest to rescue Delta from indescribable governance rot and restore hope to our people.

“May I quickly mention here that Rt. Honourable Osanebi emerged as our Deputy Governorship candidate from a painstaking internal vetting process in which many notable and highly qualified Deltans were also considered.

“Our Constitution only allows one choice and we know that Rt. Honourable Osanebi is a great choice. Nonetheless, I am confident that with God on our side and by the electoral will of our people, each eminent Deltan who was considered in the vetting process will be given a chance to add value to public governance in strategic roles after the 2023 general elections.

“I am confident that working with the Rt. Honorable Friday Ossai Osanebi as our Deputy Governorship Candidate offers Deltans, especially our youths, a unique opportunity to repair our broken leadership foundations and Build A New Delta.

“This unique moment in our political evolution is clearly orchestrated by God Almighty for His greater glory and greater good of all our people. I humbly urge all our people to embrace this as our real chance for true greatness. We are marching towards the New Delta of our dream, and we are unstoppable.”

From his name, it’s obvious this Friday Ossai Onasebi is not Igbo. The implication is that Omo-Agege has excluded Delta Igbos from his voting population and I would love to see where that takes him.

Trust me when I tell you that Okowa will pick a Delta Igbo as running mate to the PDP candidate which will give him votes of Delta North and might make him win.

We had similar arguments 2019.I believe we had it in 2015 but not with each other so let us not deceive ourselves.nothing much will change except obi tsunami...apc has made far more progress than pdp.apc is a monstrous electoral machine.tinubu chances may not be as bright as buhari in 2019 to be honest but he has the advantage.obi has even made it a little easier for him by taking away the south east.tinubu has prepared and amassed more resources than any other person.the winner would be decided by who exerts more power on election day not what happens before.

Truthfully, the southwest will go to tinubu but it might not be bloc votes.south east will go to obi despite being a pdp territory.majority of the people in the east are rooting for obi.obi won his region in 2019...but why did atiku fail to win the north east? Why did he win taraba and Adamawa narrowly? Why can't atiku win north east but obi wins south east? Is it not obvious that atiku is not loved by his people? Even sowore won his polling unit.apc is dominant in the north east.you yourself said yobe and borno will go to tinubu and these places gives bloc votes.so tinubu can use the large margins there to win the north east.what makes you think bauchi and gombe will go to atiku? He lost scandalously here and tinubu even has more more men here than atiku.they dont like atiku.they like apc.you think they may vote atiku because he is a northerner.they love buhari and follow him madly esp bauchi...

Same thing in northwest.we are only sure of kano for kwankwaso.what was the redcap influence outside kano in 2019.statistics shows he is not strong outside kano.even if he wins north west which i dont tjink he will, apc will come second...
The north central dont want another fulani.they prefer a southerner.you said tinubu will win kwara and Niger and these two States gives bloc votes.plateau have suffered from fulani.yahaya holds kogi tightly.nasarawa is 50 50.same as benue who are tired of fulanis.nc is between tinubu and obi, atiku is out...
Finally,ss is my zone. It is not on lockdown for obi.apc with all her gra gra managed 32% in 2019 but it might tilt towards obi.most of obi supporters are in the urban areas and most voters are in the villages.ss might be divided between the three candidates.it could be 40 40 20 or 35 35 30 or 45 35 20.

Tinubu is sure of sw,obi sure of se.atiku is not sure of any region.tinubu has the slight advantage.
I must tell you that this is the only time you have impressed me with your response because this is very close to reality on ground.

One thing you said that I want to correct however is that the (core) North love Buhari and APC. That’s not true. Did you see this video of Kano people responding to questions on the will vote for in 2023 that was made by that Peter Obi supporter who went to Kano? One of the men clearly said Buhari is “too slow”. From that video, you would find out that those people hate APC as much as we do here down south which makes me doubt that they would vote for Tinubu because Buhari said so or because he’s in APC.

Politics › 2023: Where Will Tinubu Get The Votes? by Penguin2(op): 6:48pm On Jun 29, 2022
Except Tinubu supporters are banking on rigging, I want them to systematically state regions and states that will vote Tinubu in 2023.

Kwankwaso has conquered Northwest where Tinubu was banking on so much which made him even send private jet to bring Senator Shekarau to his house to beg him to settle his rift with Ganduje.

The Northeast is gone with Atiku. Except for maybe Yobe and Borno. It is instructive to state that Christians in this region seem to be leaning towards Obi candidacy.

The North Central with Christian majority seem to be leaning towards Obi especially after an APC government has supervised the worst carnage their region has experienced in history. Only Kwara and Niger may vote Tinubu in this region; but when you remember men like Saraki and Babaginda Aliyu are from these states, you would agree that PDP will not perform badly and therefore it will not be a clean sweep for Tinubu.

Then the Southeast and Southsouth are gone with Peter Obi and Atiku on a ratio of 70:30. Before you argue it, if Edo people, who are the only people that had the likelihood of voting Tinubu because of Oshiomole, are supporting Peter Obi to the extent that the state governor had to acknowledge it, then I do not think any serious political strategist should write off what is going on there. Need I speak of Southeast?

Only the Southwest holds a prospect for Tinubu. But even that is 70% at best. Because when you factor in the fact that half of Lagos voters are non-indigenes, nay Igbo, who are not best fans of Tinubu, and also considering the results of previous presidential elections from the state, then you’d admit that if Tinubu gets up to 60% of votes in Lagos, then it’s a good showing for him. Another factor to consider in the Southwest is the fact that the Muslim/Muslim ticket which Tinubu is understandably preparing to fly, will be highly unpopular amongst Yoruba Christians who might vote against Tinubu ( no sane and objective strategist will dismiss this fact). However, I must note that Tinubu’s vote buying strategy, which was test run in Ekiti, will be highly effective in the Southwest and as such will swell the number of votes he will get in this region.

Lastly, there is the factor of youth revolution sweeping across Social Media and even the streets across southern Nigeria and some parts of the north in support of Peter Obi. As much as these old politicians would want to dismiss what is going on as mere online shenanigans that “there’s no polling unit on Twitter”, trust me when I tell you that deep down they are concerned; especially when you recall that Nayib Bukele of El Salvador, Volodomr Zelensky of Ukraine, Emmanuel Macron of France, etc, all won their elections in a similar pattern.

All these are facts and representation of reality devoid of sentiments and biases and I would expect respondents to do same without resorting to insults and gutter language.

Not yet, He will soon declare, he is taking his time, strategizing, it's gonna be a Grand Declaration that will shake the entire State to its roots in the hinterlands. Trust him, he will definitely be on the Ballot.

I think this will happen before dateline given by INEC to parties to submit names of substitutions &running mates, some are saying Apst. Yeneime Andy, the State YPP chairman&also Governorship candidate is holding brief for him, which maybe true.

i have observed his core Loyalists who were denied tickets have all moved to YPP to gets tickets, I have heard Mkpisong Ephraim Inyang Eyen has picked YPP senatorial form for Akwa Ibom South(Eket), I'm also aware Barr. Usenobong Akpabio have left PDP &has since picked YPP Senatorial form for Akwa North East(Uyo), some State House members have all had place-holders in YPP pending imminent defections.

There are massive YPP membership registration going on now in the State &at Ward levels, YPP sensitization billboards & stickers almost everywhere now in Uyo, former influencial SSA to Governor on SMEs, Chief Mrs Janet Amba have dump the PDP, she has just picked up her YPP membership card @her ward.

The third Force is what most Akwa Ibomite are all waiting for with their PVCs, since PDP&APC aren't too sure.
Why did they not move to Labour Party instead?

Like I have always said, these pictures do not mean anything. Infact, they have no bearing on his capacity to deliver as a President if elected. Nigeria is in a precarious stage in its history, in a time of hyperinflation, a time of heightened insecurity and dwindling Government revenue.

We can't afford to miss it. Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a proven administrator whose ability to deliver on promises is unparalleled. He is a wealth creator who sees potential economic advantage in anything. He initiated the Lekki Free trade zone, Lekki seaport, RRS and several other revolutionary ideas. Also, under his watch, Lagos GDP experienced an unprecedented growth from a measly million of dollars to over 140 billion of dollars Today.

Vote Tinubu 2023. Vote APC.
Can you show us a picture of Tinubu like this apart from where he’s sharing garri and red oil?

We are waiting.

God bless you Peter Obi.

We know you do not like to laud yourself over anyone or to play godfather.

That’s unlike Tinubu who has continually decided who will become governor of Lagos state since he left office in 2007.

Give Tinubu the chance to become this country’s president and he will repeat what he has been doing in Lagos.

Just like Lagos has not been able to disentangle from Tinubu’s entanglement since 2007, that’s how Nigeria will not be able to disentangle from Tinubu until he dies.

We must not make that mistake.

Peter Obi is nothing but a well packaged political fraud, packaged by IPOB as their candidate. Well, i'm sure Peter Obituary will continue his career as a political prostitute after he loses the 2023 elections grin
