The calculation is simple.

APC has 59 senators or thereabout.

The opposition has 50 senators.

The northern senators in APC after meeting with northern stakeholders will never support military action in Niger because they will suffer it most.

Any war in Niger will see people of Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, etc, becoming displaced because those states will be the flashpoint.

Now, add about 20 northern senators in APC to 50 opposition senators, you will get 70.

Any bill with 70 senators against it is dead on arrival.

Na wa o!

How can you conclude that all Northern senator will be against this.

This is France's war. Their economy and future viability is under threat. Because once they're successfully routed from Niger, their presence or existing neocolonialism in the rest of Africa would be threatened too. Yet, Tinubu allowed himself and in extension Nigeria, to fight a war that is not ours in the first place.
