The bitter truth is they are very few. Pastors are into lots of atrocities ( please God forgive me for saying this) We need a revival like that which happened in the early church to Ananais and Saphira. Tell a lie or commit a sin and fall down dead instantly. |
Good one, Dr (Mrs) Okonjo- Iweala. You've shown you know your facts and also have proper records. It is wise of you to have a pubic adviser on ground to help clarify issues with appropriate facts. Please continue from time to time so as to let us know where our money is hanging. |
I posted this on religion section yesterday it never made FP, yet being discussed today my thoughts. in as much as this also has have a political side to it, I have decided to focus on this platform, the spiritual side alone. I have never met Rev Fr Kukah, but I have always been en trail by him, he is an intellect and a Revered father of repute. I love to hear him speak. On his speech these few days, I initially felt disappointed but I had to reflect and even put myself in his shoes, behold the dilemma. I know very well he is not happy with the way things are in Nigeria and had several times in the past spoke vehemently against it. He had spoken on security and at several times peace , reconciliation and against corruption. Recall in 2012 after Pastor Oritshajefor acquired his private jet The fiery cleric who spoke on ‘Church and the state in the pursuit of the common good’, said: “The stories of corrupt men and women being given recognition by their churches or mosques as gallant sons and daughters and the embarrassing stories of pastors displaying conspicuous wealth as we hear from the purchases of private jets and so on clearly diminish our moral voice.” He said such alliance will weaken the ability of the church to speak the truth to elected public office holders. According to him: “CAN has become more visible in relation to national prayer sessions, pilgrimages, alliances with state power and so on. “Unless we distance ourselves, we cannot speak the truth to power. We cannot hear the wails of the poor and the weak. We should not be seen as playing the praying wing of the party in power.” He challenged the church to speak against corruption in low and high places, saying such responsibility must never be jettisoned for any reason.(The Nation, 2012) He may even be aware that poor funding and improper implementation of military budget as a result of corruption may have resulted in death or rather inability to rescue lots of innocent lives. Not to mention the number of youth coming to him that may have been redundant and some will be seeking job placement through a connection of his and he may even have been rendered hapless on so many occasion. Surely the adverse effect of corruption by public officials must have stung him, one way or the other. Recently, this same man seem to be constrained, what could have changed in him or is true what was said by National Director of Research, Planning and Strategy, Elder Sunday Oibe, who doubles as the Public Relations Officer of Northern CAN at time in 2012, in the heat of the jet acquisition saga that “If there is any clergyman in the country whose constituency is government, it is Bishop Kukah, who served every government in power in the last decade, saying. “He thinks people have forgotten in a hurry how he served in Obasanjo’s government and turned round to attack the former president, or his fraternity with the former Governor James Ibori and his Rivers State counterpart, Peter Odili.” Oibe urged the Catholic bishop that if he have anything against the person of Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, he should come out and say so, and not hide under the cloak of the gift of a jet to attack the CAN president.( Vanguard, 2012) My own opinion is that, I sense he may had gotten wind of that some notable christian leaders or rather 'men of God' that have been implicated or involved in corruption. The visits of GEJ to churches last year, we may not know what our church leaders collected from him or how our churches have been involved in corruption. The most notable is Pastor Chris Oritshajefor, the Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN) President, whose private jet was used in money laundering and commercial use against the law of the land. How will we (Nigerian christian and muslims) and the whole WORLD hear that the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria is standing trial for corruption? How will 'men of God' be looked at henceforth? What will happen to his church members and Christians in general in Nigeria? Won't it bring Christianity to disrepute in Nigeria? Would other religion not mock the Christians? Mind you this is just one pastor, who knows if many other 'big men of God' are involved. Here lies the great burden of a spiritual leader, where does he stand. For 'RELIGON or JUSTICE' for 'RIGHTEOUSNESS or REPUTATION' for 'ETERNITY or SHAME OF WHAT MEN WILL SAY IN THIS WORLD' This is a challenge, But the church leadership must be Authoritative, Spiritual and sacrificial. Authoritative because people need to be led by one who knows where he is going. Sacrificial because it is modeled on the life of the one who gave himself as sacrifice for the whole world and Spiritual because it is a thing of the spirit and conferred by God. Spiritual leader is able to influence others because the spirit is able to work in and through him to a greater degree than those he lead. If this reverses he no longer a spiritual leader. The road is through many prayers and tears, it is attained by confession of sin and much heart searching and humbling before God by self surrender, a courageous sacrifice of every idol, a bold deathless, uncompromising, uncomplaining embrace of the cross and by an eternal looking onto Jesus crucified. He must not be by seeking for ourselves or manipulation. This is a great price but must be unflinching paid by him who not merely a nominal but a real spiritual leader of men whose power is recognized and felt in heaven,on earth and in hell.( Oswald sanders,1980) http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/11/private-jets-can-slams-kukah-bakare/ http://thenationonlineng.net/new/news/pastors-with-private-jets-an-embarrassment-bishop-kukah/ |

themaskedman:I am talking about political leaders, even you yourself cannot name a political leader that have been above board. If it's technocrats and industrialist every zone has it in abundance. Take a look at all the nation you mention again and Google their economic induces, non is favorable. Don't shroud yourself in ethnicity saying, if we are alone we will be better off. It is a grand delusion. It is this same political leaders you have that will still be your leaders. I am not a tribalist and won't want to continue this with you bye. |
sexybaby22:Very smart guy, |
[quote author=Udmaster post=36877205]It looks photoshopped[/quote Agree completely. With all the money, couldn't even get an expert, |
brooklyn49:Brother please stop peddling rumors If there had been any dark side to Buhari, GEJ and his boys would have used it during the last electioneering to bring him down. Please wake up to reality of a New Nigeria. |
Brilliant! GEJ and his cohorts indeed pushed Nigerians to the wall. With almost her last cry to live Nigeria, cried CHANGE! BUHARI! So unfortunate a man we all loved 6yrs ago, broke all promises he made to us and couldn't even see our pain and agony. Ride on PMB clean up Nigeria. |
Ayameze2015:In a bid to quickly pass an insult, you've shown both your intellectual and unbridled reading deficiency. Kindly read through the earlier post carefully emphasis on 5 |
hinwazaka:I took time to read your post carefully. You never at anytime mention NIGERIA- our home, country and love. You're were more interested in individual and their gains and loses. I am more interested in Nigeria, which will outlive all those you have mentioned, above tribe or political affiliation. This anticorruption war is for Nigeria survival not individual, party or tribe. Wake up, THE PATRIOT are now in power. |
The country that interest me most on the list is South Sudan. They cried for independent and got it now what has become of them. The people clamoring for Biafra and their supporter should learn from this. This is a region that non of their leaders , with limited resources at their disposal have not been exceptional or above board. They claim Nigeria is unfair to them, yet leaders of this region have been unfair to their very own people. Another example is GEJ in 6yrs couldn't coordinate the cleaning of oil spillage in Ogoni land yet was son of the soil, OBJ couldn't build a good road to his very own house in Ota. I used this diverse example not to be termed tribalism. Let us watch our leader and not be gullible in just following them. Charity begins at home. |
owobokiri:No. The last I heard on Harllibuton case last week from a credible source was an order from PMB to re-open the case buried for more than 8yrs and this morning someone brought a news without a direct source that that the case was closed, that the CNN was investigating , and Buhari's integrity. To me this are the agent that doesn't want the anticorruption crusade to move. They want to discredit the crusader. Finally as a leader, action should be SMART-specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely. To start with the last administration the gains will be high also note the issue of unemployment, health, infrastructure, security and economy is also bedeviling this nation, hence with the limited time choose their priority. Maybe if God permits the next four years they may dig further. |
zendy:Please Stop the hate Most of the wealthy Nigerian today riches and wealth can be attributed to corruption. Think deeply before you cast the first stone. |
One way corruption fights back is blackmail, trying to make say ' it's not only me, everybody is also involved in it'. The looters have tried everyday to frustrate anti corruption war by shouting 'witch-hunt','probe from 1960' 'I helped you during electioneering', 'denials- I know nothing about it', 'you're overheating the polityk, 'Adbulsalam peace accord ' 'try it and Nigeria will burn', 'IBB and OBJ knows PMB secrets and they have promised to go public with it', now asking 'Buhari's integrity' We all know how far we've have gone into this corruption, and we can't survive as individual and a nation at the rate we are going. The moment you realize you are on the wrong path is the very moment to change your ways. Yes, loved ones and people we know or ourselves who have benefited from corruption upon persecution may cause us pain but it is a sacrifice we've got to pay for a better Nigeria and our children. It could also help us make heaven ultimately. Let cooperate with this anti corruption war |
Please help me out. Who among this is a sinner and why? 1-someone who steals a bible from a church to read at home 2- someone who steals money at home and gives it as offering in church 3- someone who steals offering in church to give to poor and orphanages. |
The name of that company always changing but that address never change. they did sent me a notice for interview but because couldn't recall applying I decided to call. The receiver was not patient with me trying to form busy and evade my questions Infact I wasn't told the name of the company and position. He hung the call on me twice. I decided to Google the address of the company and behold I saw it's a fraud. Ironically on Sunday they sent invitation to my sister who had never applied for a job. Those guys are 419 |
Anger and Lack of self control. An elderly man once told me. If you can hold your anger for 10min it can keep you out of jail for 10yrs. |
deadZONE:No sir, you are mistaken. There had been a CHANGE of government in Nigeria, GEJ is no longer president. The new man is PMB and money don't creep carelessly into individual pocket like before. If that happens now it is termed stealing and there are consequences. STEALING IS NOW CORRUPTION |
azimibraun:I don't understand this your write up. Are you praising GEJ that he couldn't prosecute one corrupt official in 6yrs? That suspected looters where wining and dining with him and he couldn't do anything? That GEJ didn't know corruption was brewing under his watch? Now he wants the peace accord to be implemented above the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which he has sworn to protect? Although I want a soft landing for him but PLEASE DONT EVER MENTION HE IS THE BEST NIGERIA PRESIDENT because he is the WORST |
I really feel it ought to have been captured alive and taken to possible Yankari reserve some few kilometers away in Bauchi. Where are our Rangers, why use military, why kill it, hippo don't eat flesh but grasses. I feel pained and sad, we got to change our approach to wide life, it's an area that could give lots of employment and income as tourism. Let's learn from other nation like Kenya, Tanzania and Ethiopia. |
weep no more my brother, but rejoice. Clean all your tears away. The day God anointed President Buhari to rule Nigeria, is the very day our prayers hit His throne room and he sent the answer that all tears of faithful Nigeria shall be wiped away |
Great leader are people that think ahead and outside the box. President Buhari, despite his age sees better than all our past leaders especially with the likes of GEJ, who folded his hands and began lamentation when he wasn't supplied arms. PMB has his eyes on a future where nations may even want to buy made in Nigeria weapon. Welcome to the great Nigeria of our dreams. Ride on Mr President. |
kerygalerie:A lady that can say this has both brains and beauty. Got my confirmation!! |
MosakuAW:Diamond bank accused her of owing N120m, see is requesting N500m as damages. This is cool business. |
dunkem21:Saraki issue to me is like a son that asked his mum for money and his mum refused him because she had limited resources and felt her other child needs it more at the moment, Saraki went to one of his father's ex- girlfriend whom his father was dating before he met his mum. The ex- girl gave him the money on the condition that she will help her chase his mum from his father's house and his mum heard about this. Now the question, the ex- girlfriend looks Saraki with suspicion, his mum sees him as a traitor and his sibling cannot trust him. Who will ever trust him again? |
Nigerians! Nigerians!! Nigerians!!! Someone once told me that as soon as a new born child breathes in Nigeria, he breathes in corruption. Buhari please help us with the antidote |
pafra:Now he is talking like the cannery bird. When faced with the consequent of his action and inaction. Failed his people in the north Failed his C- in - C Failed his primary constituency- the military Failed our beloved country Nigeria Embarrassed and disgraced our country- Money laundering Made Nigeria look like a cry baby before boko Haram My submission- he must be persecuted for not only corruption BUT all his action and inactions while in office. If he is not competent to hold such a sensitive position he ought to have tendered this Resignation and not resigning to stealing while in office. |
