Kobojunkie:Failure is subject and goodluck has not failed in the eyes of his supporters coupled with other factors. So can you good luck haters live in peace with the choice people has made and stick to yours?. Kobojunkie:Nobody is absolving anyone here because if you do not get the foundation of my argument then ask instead of making baseless conclusions. There is no perfect party in Nigeria because they all contain bad elements but that does not negates the possibility of finding electable candidates from such parties which good luck happen to be in the eyes of his supporters. Hope you can comprehend it now and i wonder why you have not been rolling on the floor today. |
People should put their mouth where there money is by influencing the results at the polls, especially those shouting from outside nigeria. Before the end of april everything will be settled for good and we shall all continue our next four years of a democratic term. |
Kobojunkie:I said there is no direct correlation which does not remove the fact that belonging to pdp will affect him one way or the other. People vote for individuals in the Nigerian context way beyond party affiliations and that is very evident. Ribadu has most of his support because of his individual stewardship when he was still the EFCC chiarman and not based on the party which he belongs to now. Buhari is riding based on his individual credibility and it definitely has nothing to do with the party he belongs to. So in the Nigerian context people vote for individuals and not parties but i believe you are not getting my point. |
I think voters are starting to vote for personalties, not parties.
Voting in nigeria has majorly been always inclined towards candidates and not to the party. Most nigerians who vote do not really belong to any party or strongly vote for just one party. Only PDP has retained its name since we started this democratic dispensation from 1999. AD - AC - ACN - only God knows what next will be the name, APP - ANPP i think. APGA - PPA and more, we have JP, LP and more will come in 2015. It has always been about the candidates and not the party, buhari will win the northern votes even if he is in pdp. |
Yes more endorsement for the official debates which is accessible to all Nigerians. ![]() |
^^ People vote for individuals and not the party in the Nigerian context so there is no direct correlation between the failure of PDP and goodluck. Kobojunkie:There are some people who do not have internet or a reliable fast internet for watching the live debate. |
^^ We are talking about this debate. |
hackney:Lol and what about those in asia, europe and other part of africa?. |
sledge406:Thanks for your maturity and she has answered the question exactly the way i wanted and i know you will do likewise but you did not understand. The answer she gave is what i wanted because i am asking specifically about this youth organization and not the overall happening in the country. Let us take the save Nigerian group for instance, they saved Nigeria quite alright during the yar adua debacle but what else after that. A group should have some goals or vision that they work towards to. So that's why i am asking that if the purpose of all these organizations is just to organize debate and that's it?. My brother thats why politicians win election and forget about the people or those they are suppose to represent. They will organize debate fine but then what else do they have for the youths?. What is the position or plan of this organization concerning education, youth empowerment and so many other issues that needs to be addressed?. I will rightly commend them for the debate if it is a first in a series of plans that they have for the country. But if their sole aim is just to organize debate, hear what the candidates has to say and vote the right candidate who might turn out to be something else then i am out. I want my youth organization to be beyond that and if you are outside Nigeria then you will feel our hypocrisy. Nigerians are among the group of Africans that find it difficult to form an association and impact to their various communities positively as a group. But they are here forming organization to conduct debate which looks cheap to me and are just a bunch of youth trying to seek relevance. We should start asking ourselves sincere questions instead of allowing sentiments to becloud our judgments and thinking. |
@Naijangel. From the bottom of my heart if there is anything i would have done to your life or maybe later in the future, i am very much indebted to that. You answered my question with perfect understanding more than sledge406 because my question was directed at this organization and not the wave of debate going on the country. I asked this question because we are sycophants in that country. I ask also because after the yar adua saga,i have not seen anything significant the save Nigerian group has done. We have Nigerian students association who has done nothing and to me i know that after this election all these organization will just go down. I want a youth organization just like you that goes beyond debate else they are just reacting to the situation around and do not have a strategic long term goals or vision. I asked those questions because are all these organizations springing up for the purpose of debate and elections only or what do they have beyond that. I asked because if they have any plan outside the presidential debate then they should be involved in other aspects of fixing the country like you mentioned which i am not seeing right now. You even talked about them doing the right thing after the election but i am asking what are they doing now. This is one of the reason that i just frown at this debate because i wonder where do all these righteous youth just spring up overnight in Nigeria or are they not the same people that will sell their votes during the election. I have reasons why it would look like i support goodluck but people will never hear your reason first before attacking you for your choice. Once again thanks for your answers and as you do not belong to the organization, i will not bother you much but i owe you if you will give me the opportunity someday to appreciate you for answering my question correctly. |
^^ The question i asked was not for you and you really did not answer my question in the context which i intend to present it. You can ask me for more clarification before you get overworked because the question was for naijangel7. Thanks though for answering the question. |
It's a free world, dear. even if i don't pretend to have all the answers. Please why is it only a presidential debate? is that the only problem we have in this country? What is the plan of this organization to ensure that there are credible candidates in other positions like the national assembly, house of representatives, governors, local government chairmen and councilors?. I have more questions also but we can start with this and why i support debates but whoever is invited and is not there should be left to the consequences of their own choices. There is no point for all these abuse but people should just vote based on their conscience and there is no point abusing those who do not align with theirs. |
This is it. ![]() |
Beaf:Please direct them to face the topic of this thread because some are clearly avoiding to post here and those already here are trying to divert the attention away from the topic at hand. What a shameful thing to do and thank God that they have been caught red handed in the act this time around. |
babaearly:What is wrong with a group of Nigerians endorsing a presidential candidate and who told you that okada riders are poor people?. |
debest1:Thank you because i just wonder why overnight every problem in Nigeria has to do with goodluck and PDP. I wonder why people cannot think beyond 1999 anymore because of the coming elections. |
Nothing new, if MEND can endorse him why not OKADA Riders, Birds of feathers
Okada riders are Nigerians just like you with a choice who their endorsement goes to. |
Commercial motorcyclists, popularly known as Okada riders, yesterday endorsed the candidacy of President Goodluck Jonathan for the forthcoming elections. The endorsement came from the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN) at a meeting of its executives across the country, with the President at the Eko Hotel and Suites at Lagos. This follows a commitment by the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chukwuemeka Nwogu, to mobilise the organised labour to come out en-mass and vote for Mr.Jonathan in the forthcoming polls. The President of the association, Babangida Shehu, who spoke for the group said the endorsement will be immediately followed with massive support across the length and breath of the country. Mr. Shehu who once a bike rider but now running for the Jos North Constituency of the Plateau State House of Assembly, noted that there are over eight million commercial motorcyclists with one or two dependants and more than 30 per cent of the riders are graduates from Nigerian universities. “The implication of this is that more than 10 percent of Nigeria population live on revenue from bikes,” he said, adding that “the commercial motorcycle is providing self-employment for a reasonable number of our youth”. He, however, noted that the bike business is facing serious challenges from state governors who see the operators as a nuisance to the society or as criminal elements as they have either banned or limited the commercial operation time. “These actions are taken without providing alternatives for the riders whose means of livelihood are threatened by these policies,” he said. Registering members He noted that the association has embarked on a nationwide live data capture and biometrics of their members to give the states some form of comfort and assurance. “To achieve this, the group is working with the Nigerian Police force, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Commission, who we are going to share our data with for enforcement and crime management,” said Mr. Shehu, who asked the president to assist in the provision of the data capturing machine for the group. “Capacity building for our members, make case for us with states that seek to legislate us out of existence; support our nationwide live data capture through provision of data capture and provide ACOMORAN with Federal Government’s subsidy for its ATCS Micro Insurance scheme,” he stressed. Mr. Shehu promised that the group will deliver the largest group vote come April 2011. In his response Mr. Jonathan thanked the bike riders for their services, noting that, since not all Nigerian roads have been fixed, it is easier to access where cars cannot go with the motorcycles as they constitute almost 50 percent of transportation. The president observed that, bike raiders have better chance of controlling crime rather than abetting it . The president noted that armed robbers can buy motorcycles and use it to rob, but this doesn’t mean it is the bike riders that are robbers. He directed that some members of the association meet with the Economic Adviser to the President and see how they can work out modalities to start assembling or manufacturing the motorcycles in Nigeria. The president promised to work with the group to sort out their challenges, especially those in the states. http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/News/National/5684629-146/story.csp |

Kobojunkie:I am not blind and i do feel for those affected one or the other but the government is trying to resolve it. Where did you get the idea that i am going to suggest that people will love the idea of queuing up?. The government is trying to fix a scarcity that just affected only two states and there is no point making a mountain out of it. No society is perfect but my point is the negativity on nairaland is just out of order. |
Kobojunkie:I understand your point but the actual people on ground who are experiencing the effects are not complaining much because they are very objective and see reasons why there is fuel scarcity again. They also know that the government is working to fix it which has already yielded partial results but not full judging from the comments on this thread. Some said it is back to normal why those against him are making a mountain out of it because it still exist in their vicinity. I am very sure that this will be fixed before the end of this month and just try and check the following feedback below. xremmy: bechex:
^^ Where do you live? Agbara? loool. Come to my area.
|
Kobojunkie:No i am not suggesting that but you will agree with me that the major reasons why we used to had fuel scarcity has been fixed hence that promise that there will be no more scarcity of fuel. My point was there is no need to condemn the government rather they should be encouraged to fix it when this new situation just developed to threaten the promise. Kobojunkie:I agree with you that there has been various causes of fuel scarcity which this is one of them but you do realize that this is one of the easiest to fix?. It is sensible to ask what happened to the promise and the answer was there right in the article ( strike by the tank drivers ). So that's why i asked that is not better to encourage or reach out to the government how they can solve this new ugly development instead of condemning them here on nairaland?. |
Someday the truth will come out. |
I wonder why those who know more than the president are not running to be the president to do the right thing. |
Kobojunkie:But you can clearly see the reason up there for the cause of this scarcity that can be easily fixed and normalized?. |
