When LASG announced the wish to host a virtual summit with the U.K govt, some pessimists were booing Gov. Babajide Sanwo Olu who was to be the main speaker and chief host. Well, one thing i asked them is how they think some investments the state secured came about? If you dont make the move, you cant get the juice. God bless Lagos state Eko oni baje o |
Following closely. @chaloskyx . Nothing really. They say people were killed there but when asked to present the bodies, they can't. Alright! If the bodies might've been moved like they subsequently claimed , then present the names and addresses. They gives names but those were busted as either not even in Lekki at the time of the incident or are even alive to refute the lies. If presentation of names and addresses were hard too, let their families come out but five months and counting, it's still media propaganda and lies. No real families. Yet they say they ain't seeking attack on Lagos. I only pity Falz and other Yoruba celebrities catching clout at the expense of their heritage. I hope they turn around before it gets too late. |
Good job, well-meaning Lagosians/Omoluabis. We gave our support for a just cause but they rode on it to cause chaos in the land. They really burnt their toast. Now they're angry they're failing while at the same time calling the Omoluabis names. They said we rant online only to chicken out in reality but we ask them why its them wailing now while Yorubas and Lagosians whom had shown their stands with many trends online against another protest keeping to their words by not participating except a couple of strays that were controlled. Perhaps the definition of cowardice has since change. Anyway, the messages are clearly sent and obviously recieved already; #demnoborntheirpapawell to stage any protest in lagos over that alleged lekki shooting. What for? #loriiro? We'll continue to defend our lagos because its our heritage. God bless Lagos state. God bless all the South West states of Nigeria. |
Hope this turn out false like the many sensational junks always coming from the SR source. But then, knowing the characteristics of the political platform under which the governor operates, I know this may not be far from the truth. That never-do-well party has nothing to offer but underdevelopment, corruption, and economic instability. I, honestly, hope Makinde is a diff breed though because the people of Oyo state deserve the best and also for the fact that we, the Omoluabis, want nothing but progress, growth and development in the south west. |
forgiveness:I don't understand why you should keep up lecturing someone who's blatantly refused to learn. If the entire education he's got ain't enough, you ain't the lecturer to whom he paid his tuition fees; and that's who he's got to seek for further explanation. Infact your patience is legendary! Besides, I don't see why we should measure d!cks with these cities. It's only inferiority complex that brings stuff like that; the rating are there for a reason and Lagos just needs to continue its developmental stride and things would even get better. #EkoOniBajeO |
SUFFERInSMILIIN:Funny how you can research Indian oil pipelines but can't research the rice partnership ongoing in your country. Sometimes before you criticize and/or defend, you need to know everything about what you want to talk about so you don't sound like a broken record. If India ain't afraid to venture into oil taking advantage of oil presence elsewhere and such is commendable to you, why do you have problems with Lagos state that have secured land in at least three states as a partner? If energy you use in criticizing others are channeled into demanding good governance from your state of origin, perhaps you won't have to be sad when others are making progress. |
Racoon:Enough of all these sh!t. Abuja has been the FCT for almost the time Lagos used as one, yet its unable to overtake the coastal city still. Big beauties of those days were the Ikoyi and Victoria Island and Lagos Island to some extent. FG inherited them from the colonial administration only to leave one of them , Lagos Island, regressing. The only part they built was FESTAC. Nothing more. Their urban planning was poor. Lagos was a business colossal before becoming the FCT. By the time the FG left, Lagos lost a sizeable number of FDI during that period and had most of its facilities deteriorated. Since been dropped as the capital, the state has successfully built LEKKI, BANANA ISLAND, and is building the mighty EKO ATLANTIC, one of the most exotic and leading developments ongoing in Africa right now. And these are aside some other development better than Festac like the MAGODO development, PERIWINKLE ISLAND, ORANGE ISLAND, LEKKI FORESHORE DEVELOPMENT, IBEJU-LEKKI et all. They were built from scratch and are all developing nicely as we speak. And of course there are obvious improvement in amenities too. BRT transit (first to do it in Africa), Modern Bus Stations built, modern jetty stations built, modern Waterway Transit, more road network in good shape now unlike the mess left behind by the FG and even though its shamefully slow, there is also a metro rail project on going. We are hoping their new deadline are met since they had approved money for the rail line. And lest I forget, the FDI is improving again all thanks to the resilient nature of the state. After all, Abuja is yet to beat the state behind for a reason; despite being only about a year short of the duration Lagos used as the FCT aside from the advantages of being built from scratch. |

It's time each state made laws to punish any useless publication or media (whether online or print) that promote or report unverified information about the state; especially one that might incite tension and/or unrest. All news of unrest come from certain elements who wishes war in the south west for political gain but God will shame all of them. They will all be defeated and embarrassed. They are losers and fvcked up. As for Sahara Reporter, they have sunk so deep the blue sea like the person of their owner and CEO that no good thing can be expected to come out of them by any well thinking Nigerian. #LongLivePeaceInSouthWestNigeria #GodBlessAllSouthWestStates #GodBlessAllWellMeaningOmoluabis #IleOoduaAGbewaO |
Allen102:Then it's time the governor stood up for the state and close down on bad elements affecting the sanity and values of the environment. He shouldn't sit down while non indigenes spoil his administration; and the state. Anyone contributing menace in a society does not deserve staying up there. Flush them out. |
Coronavirus1:For real Lagos-Ibadan rail project, that of Jonathan Com'on! pettiness doesn't suit you, come off it. |
Nice one, Gov. Sanwo Olu. The only governor after Fashola touching all areas of governance without ignoring the projects he met unfinished. That was exactly what we expected of the Ambode's administration but I guess, he ain't ready for the post. Lagosians did what they had to do and we are beginning to see the results. Moreover, Haters would always tell you that you have the wrong system when in actual fact they wish they were in your shoes. Just keep on doing what you know how to do best. #ForAGreaterLagosState #EkoOniBajeO #GodBlessLagosState. |
It's easy to discern that the majority of the supporting comments here aint from the Omoluabis. They are too full of boastfulness, threat and war-inciting which are different from the warn-and-observe nature of the Yorubas; even while they're sure of a favourable outcome. Some elements want to ride on this situation to incite war but trust the Yorubas to treat the situation with intelligence. Unless the north wants disintegration, I see calm return soonest with the Fulanis vacating or finally signing an agreement to co-exist peacefully with their hosts without any harm to the people or their properties. |
Cam we all see the nature of comments on this thread? |
Great one there, Mr Governor. Always adding one more project to his achievement everytime. I can see the children of hate are already wailing; it's their custom. Good news about Lagos often make them sad and complaining but what can we say? We can only hope they dont stop wailing 'cause Lagos will never stop improvinag at a good pace, by God's grace. Over to you, Mr Governor; do commission the couple of the housing estates you built in Lekki too. Let's keep the trend going non-stop. Eko o ni baje o. May God continue to bless Lagos State. |
Good job, Op. And don't mind the negative contributions. Even the advance countries have videos showing places and sections in their cities. They are done by bloggers, leisure-drivers, etc. That aside, I happened to be in Yaba a couple of weeks ago and i realised things are gradually changing there for good. I saw like four highrises going on around the places i covered too. Most of the roads have been reconstruted too. With the way things are going, we just need to be patient and supportive by contributing our quarters, Lagos will get there. And to him that made mention of seeing skyscrappers in mockery; please be aware that skyscrapers isnt a measure of development but facilities and commercial and social viability. Else your Dubai, Tokyo, Beijine, Osaka, Hongkong, Seoule, etc wouldnt have been behind Paris and London, that have got only few of your skyscrapers, in the ratings of developed cities. I expected the critism to be based on the drainage system and some few old houses still around. |
Sonyboom:Thumb up to you. I always doubt if these haters ever live in lagos at all whenever they rant about Gov. Sanwo Olu unseen works. This is a man whom barely months into his tenure had built and commissioned a VIO headquarter (burnt during #EndSars protest) in Ojodu with modern-day equipments aside the rent-to-own housing estate in Badagry, and many blocks of new classes in various schools across the states. Just under months. And this is apart from completing projects he met unfinished. I just love the way you kicked their asses. They're bunch of losers. |
We wait. Eko o ni baje o |
@favor914, this much you know about Nigeria and the Yoruba kingdom is hilarious. I would've ignored -in fact, i wanted to- but for a single part of your comment. Humour me, when did the first civil war happened and which State(s) participated in it? Or is your definition of war, an unrest? Moreover, in the ancient time, how did the two monarchs you mentioned related? Which was accepted as the cradle of the Yoruba kingdom? Did the current ones ever argue over supremacy or has any of them point that out as a bane to the kingdom development and unity? If no, why then is knowing the supreme one necessary? Lastly, why all riled up about my innocent comment, attacking persons from the kingdom, if you belief the kingdom is ruse? Or is there a part i'm missing? Are you an enermy of the kingdom? Or must i not correct impression that the security outfit target a sect when its around 2 address all security challenges and put d enermies of d kingdom behind them 2 defeat? And do well 2 grab your dictionary for d definition of kingdom. |
Good. Lagos must be great by force. Eko o ni baje o. |
@Makavelli25, it's not a war against a tribe/religion/section/party/region. It's war against enermies of the Yoruba kingdom. They shall be shamed and defeated. This is not to target a sect but to cleanse our land; therefore any group, faith or region, planning destruction of/on our kingdom, not leaving out the sons/daughters of the soil in collaboration with the enermy, shall be defeated sooner than later. May God continue to strenghten the South West states. Ile Oodua a gbewa o. Ase |
See them having a field day of insults on the man they tried but failed to defeat. Anyway, that's by the way. We welcome you back HRH. May your reign last longer than the longest reign of your forefathers. Relax well and peacefully, Omo akin. We live to fight another day. According to the sage: Moja mosa laa mo akikanju l'oju ogun, akikanju.... Ati wipe, 'Bi won ba ni ki laa se, a o so... (i leave the end of these proverbs for my fellow Omoluabis to finish offline) Let's just continue on our unstoppable progressive activities and leave enermies of the kingdom to continue playing their game to their destruction. Eko o ni baje o. |
Thanks to all well-meaning Lagosians/Omoluabis that have commented so far. May God continue to strenghten us. To the topic, the lgas cda have a big role to play in all these. They are appointed to ensure the development of their immediate envirnment, a role which they should know includes disallowing or fingering out shanties and illegal housing before they gathered up. That all these happen under their nose is a big question mark on if they are adequately aware of all their roles. Its time Lagos stood up to wipe out the mess of the past era. Shanties and illegal structures are forbidden and anybody should only be a part of the decay at his and his properties detriment. Kudos to Lagos on this. Lagos must be great by force. Eko O ni baje o. Aa tunbo maa dara si ni. |
Another imam of slowpoke-like episodes on the internet/horizon. I wont be surprised if it later turnd out that people behind the handles are Nigerians and that all these are politically motivated with the person of dangote being made a target to test the water. I see this dying the same death the 'moronic imam' died. All the same, this is showing that some few neutrals still get decieved with pictures and doctored videos. |
Nice work, omoluabi atata. The sky's is your start of height. Climb on babe, we got your back. |
This is lagos... This is the zeal. Come what may, we always rise again; we always rise better, greater and mightier. This coming year, we're picking up again and rise to the greatest of ovation. Its our world, let's show them haters how the game's played. #LagosWinForever #EkoOniBajeO |
Even as the Op gave us half-truth, we should also admit the commissioner for education and that of tourism should sit at a table to discuss how to make that place a tourist attraction. The building should be seperated from the new ones but no renovation should be done on it other than giving the surrounding a facelift: plant trees and flowers in the newly-fenced historic site, beautify the environment outside too, create a modern tour-guide in the premises, create a classic children section, allow a couple of refreshment stands, put plastic signs/symbols on walls to signify/separate the (grade of) classes away from the staff rooms/quarters and the administrative offices et all. Then, they can promote it like other attraction in the town. My take. |
This one's available, they dont see him to kill. They have other thieves ruling them too who can hardly point at any achievement that has positively impacted in the livelihood of their people and economy, yet their focus is on a man who'd once governed a state that has been outperforming others for years in many fields including but not limited to, local investments, fdi, human development indices, infrastructural development indices, gdp, igr and what have you; and that's since he took charge till now. If godfatherism of Tinubu is bad, they should show us the effect of the better politics they practise in their domain that's make their state(s) performing better and more attractive to investors than Lagos. |
Kare Omoluabi Atata. Yoruba lagba, Yoruba lasa, Yoruba leye. Ile oodua a gbe wa o. A o ni ku sona bi efin o. Aa ma juwa se o. |
Good one by the NSE. At least we're ending the new year with some good news. In respect of the comment so far, it's clear some people are just filled with hate and sorrow, and they're so damaged that they see evil in everything... even in good news. |
Good one, Lasg. If they cant handle it, let's give 'em a hand afterall the mess is affecting us too. We cant afford to stand aloof while they make a rut; time we manned up and helped clear the mess. Lagos must be great by force. Eko o ni baje o |
