owobokiri:Which particular environment are you refer to? The departure point at Falomo, Ikoyi or the arrival point at Port Novo? Shows most of you ain't even residents of Lagos with this comment of yours. Lagos was trying to showcase how far they've gone in infrastructural development, especially its waterways transport facilities, to the world hence the transit. The environment was cool too. Many pictures the team took while boarding the boats was all over the internet and there are videos too. Stop the hate; Lagos would always get better whether you like it or not. Pics below: 2, 3 are the Super Eagles team at Five Cowries jetty, Falomo, Ikoyi. Pic 1: Kaduna tourism team on a study of Lagos tourism and creative development recently. The picture was the one they took at Five Cowries after a boat cruise. Pics 4, 5: Arrival point at Port Novo, Benin Republic.

plaindealer:Imagine that. I was opportuned to see a clip on the destruction of illegal structures and shanties in Lekki of recent. When the affected were interviewed, the Yoruba ones among them were pleading with the government to provide succor for them because they had no where to go, the local mechanical engineers were pleading for another provision of space directly from the government where they could work with confidence of legality but then came the turn of a couple of our people from the other side of the Niger and then there were explosions of curses on the government. To them, government have no right to demolish any illegal structures except they can provide alternatives for the dwellers, particularly as the country situation is terrible. They'd preferred things stagnated everywhere because their region is unproductive and inefficient. And don't be surprised that most of these idiots are typing from a rotten hellhole somewhere outside Lagos. |
plaindealer:Big ups, bud. You killed that argument. Imagine someone complaining about thrash he and the neighborhood contributed to the society. To them government has to take responsibility for everything, even the barren nature of their wives. If the UK, America, France and other developed nations treat their societies as Nigerians generally does, would any of them dream of traveling there? Even some African countries are environmentally friendly than us in many ways but instead of calling ourselves to order, we rather shift blame around onto a soft target which in this case is the government. Anyway, they say we defend the government because we haven't traveled; perhaps, we should rather ask him how many times does he sees the Europeans and the Americans, including the Africans in the few societies they always throw at our faces, engage in dumping of thrash around anyhow because they have a certain system versatile in cleaning up. Dumb haters. Always looking for faults in any development in Lagos and within the South West. |
Why the worry when the facility is already nearing completion? And where else would you suggest he site it that don't have people around the vicinity. 2022 is around the corner, let's hold our breath and see what measures are in place to curb these pollutants. Besides, the facility is tucked away in a LFTZ for safety with traffic meant to be directed outward through Epe-Ota and Epe-Ikorodu axis. Only components to be used on the Island goes inward through LEKKI so expect minimal impact on traffic situations too. Don't forget the proposed GREEN RAIL LINE would link the refinery enroute to the Lekki Seaport. Perhaps existence of activities from the refinery would speed up the rail development. |
Tomcorp:Done with you. Remember, you own your curses 100%. No one's sharing them with you. They're all yours. By the way, check the word 'rant' on your dictionary. Seems you just discover the word too. Go through our convo, check who's calm and who rants. Anger and insults has never been a good sign of a constructive argument hence we steer clear of it. Below pic would surely help.
|
Tomcorp:Hail the way you were brought up. Mama and Papa are very proud of your subsequent replies. You take after them too well. And I proclaim this again, you ain't Yoruba. You can continue to deceive yourself with all utterance, insults and responses from your other monikers and all, it would never make you an Omoluabi. And of course, dumb minds attack arguments with insults. And its your trademark down that side. Hate, hate and hate. |
Tomcorp:You keep displaying traits that further show you ain't Yoruba and surely, not an Omoluabis. Let the people worry about the name; not you. At least, everyone of these people easily addresses himself/herself as Omo Odua in their everyday convo so what seems to be your headache. Moreover, learn more about the people you want to impersonate. By the time you discover some few things, you'll surely know who between us is a lazy mind. It seems you just saw the picture of Oduduwa of recent and you started getting ideas. These kids! Anyway, that's what cheap internet services has done to the world. Anybody can just spew any gibberish. |
As a Yoruba man and an Omoluabis, this thread is better ignored. The moniker behind it displays characteristics not accustomed to the Yorubas and surely has a lot to learn about the people. Like many has observed already, he's perhaps another child wishing to display a learnt tricks. |
Nice work, Op. It shows we're making progress in this part of the world. And ultimately, it show them haters that we may not be too far off as they imagined, wailed about and wanted. In term of facilities/infrastructures, in Nigeria, Lagos is a runaway leader. In Africa, its amongst the most developed. After all, reputable stats have always confirmed as much. May God continue to bless Lagos state May God continue to bless all south western states of Nigeria May God bless all yorubas Eko o ni baje o... Aa tunbo maa dara si ni. |
9jaRealist:I don't understand why you have to go on with the argument when the person behind the moniker you're contending with has programmed his mindset to oppose anything Lagos state does. He has no good control over the course of the argument but he was/is hellbent on finding faults. Most of them Ipobians/Easterners are like that. They throw themselves into an argument they don't understand and drag you about for a mudfight. I won't be surprised if he or someone else come to his defense to proclaim that you celebrate mediocrity because you're yet to travel. They pretend as if they like Lagos than the aboriginals when we all know they want is its destruction hence the pain and wail whenever there's one other development in the state. Check how they celebrate common multi-level Innoson car showroom, calling it world class, until someone cured their madness with the picture of the same facility that innoson must've copied from Lagos. That essentially killed their pathetic vibe that day. If you check the thread about the hospital constructed by a businessman in Anambra village. You'll understand their inferiority complex as they measure dick with LASG with emphasis on a certain elevator it has as if elevator is an essential facility a medical center must possess before being considered perfect/standard. One even raised the same glorification in another thread until a particular moniker cured him of his madness by showing him health facility in Ibadan built decades ago with elevator facility in it. Just ignore him, he's pained. |
Icumsa45:I wonder if you know that hospital was constructed by a private entity and that it has nothing to do with Fashola or pre-Fashola administration. You just sit down in one corner in ALAIGBO and spit thrash with pathetic confidence because you hate to accept that the Lagos state governor is already outperformed whatever your region could put forward under his two years in office. |
Thread on Lagos always attracts pathetic pigs. They have nothing to show and don't care but would always wail about others doing something. They are losers; they don't count. Lagos is a moving train and will continue to build infrastructural development with unstoppable tendencies, God willing. God bless Lagos state God bless all South Western States of Nigeria God bless all the Yorubas Eko oni baje o... Aa tunbo maa dara si ni lojo gbogbo. |
Imagine the hate over another man because of tribal difference. Why not go ahead to host yours in wherever and give 'em awards to whomsoever you like? See 'em calling something/organisation trash but they can't stop having multiple seizures over the activity(s). SMH |
Cantonese:Don't mind them. They will be quick to compare the state strength and development to an advance country while at the same time, they are the same troops who are supporting lawlessness. They don't like how the state's progressive: so they would always want to intimidate the officials into doing nothing by attacking each development with another in advance country or by making moves to eradicate abnormalities look like wickedness against the residents. Thank God the government ain't concerned about their antics. LASG just does what it thinks is best and proper for the progress of the state. Lagos is just another state in Nigeria and it has right to govern its state according to its vision for smart-city development. Anyone who has problems with any policy the state put out can try another state (no problem) else law-breakers would continue to be punished without remorse or restrain. |
Op, they are coming for your head. How dare you say Benin took their tradition from a Yorubaland ![]() Benin that they believe was independent of any affiliation except for birthing Onitsha. |
That he featured in such classic is an achievement on its own. Welldone, David. Keep on climbing. |
Very pathetic how people who have often hate on and insult Lagos government would still be sad/pained over the decision the government make (which they alleged to be bad). What an irony! Shouldnt they be excited instead, after all, it was an open knowledge that none of them had ever being happy about any progressive stride the state make. Don't know what's bad in tax revenue improvement, job opportunity increment, improve gdp, improve transport system, etc. Those people should face their region for once. Shun Lagos if her policies aint buying with your logic. The state has only one top responsibity and that's to take Lagos state to the height of good standard of living. Anyway, for those shouting Chinko, the state is targeting various investors with partnership already signed with the U.K and the U.S respectively over the course of the week to rebuild the state. One of the contracts signed is to fix Otto community and both LASG and UK reps had met, discussed and concluded their plan with the community already. |
Nice one Lagos state. Linking that road that far would open up that section of Badagry to improve commercial activities and development. |
elmessiahs:Not entirely true. At least, in the case of this guy, it isn't. If he could procure drugs worth a billion on the street, then he can start biz and earn legitimate income but he chose the fast lane and only him should shoulder the blame for his crime; not the government, not peer pressure, not anything else. Even if the street value of the drug is 30m like someone suggested, the money used in procuring it would start a good biz nonetheless. So he's got no excuse for committing his crime. |
kings59:Always riding on any opportunity to stylishly lash on the country. Someone was murdered in the US but it has to be an insecurity issue in Nigeria to you or what other intention is the reason why you made such advice ![]() That 37 likes graced your comments says so much about whom we share this forum with nowadays. Neddstark:Sometimes we overrate this advance countries so much. Of course, they have far better system and society but the fact still says they have many unsolved cases too and yeah, many cases get closed unsolved after having elapsed the duration of time the law permitted. Thank Goodness someone's given you famous examples already and there are many unpopular ones too. Infact, there are even cases where the law ended up punishing the wrong individuals. So they ain't perfect. No one, place or system is. |
ENGINEERG:What makes Lagos the easiest state to manage How are other states more difficult?Besides, from which stat did you discover that 70% of the state is water? SMH. Some people will just spew gibberish for reasons best known to them without asking themselves first how factual the beer-parlour fact they shared among their peers is. So very pathetic. |
The problem is competition; nothing else. Similar projects with equal amenities the EAC has to offer abound on the Island. And they are cheaper. Plus, investors are taking advantage of many underdeveloped seasides around Lagos to stamp their signature on the state skyline. The speculation about fear for water surge is just a useless conspiracy. The EA city is being built on a lofty elevated height of land and with the wall of Lagos also shielding it, it should be safe for a very long time to come. Acquiring land at Eko Atlantic seems to be a little more expensive than at other places, like I pointed, safe for Banana Island of course and when you factor in the fact that there's a minimum limit on sqm investors must purchase and that as an investor, you have to be able to construct a skyscraper to be confident of the ROI, build a green tower in compliance with the trend, amidst some other things to compete, then, you realize that there are few investors around capable of meeting up. Forget about some rumoured purchase of properties in Dubai. What they buy there are apartments; skyscrapers are expensive to build. So unless Chargoury is ready to finance construction at a speeding rate and sell apartments at whatever pace market permits, the project will go on at this pace for some time more till it will accelerate especially when there is limited availability space because by then, the beauty would be too good to ignore. One thing is sure, the project will succeed; it's just a matter of time. And it will give rise to another giant housing project...perhaps bigger in the future. The future of Lagos state is bright. |
November1857:Your wish over Lagos will always fail. Lagos had been successful before Nigeria and will be successful even after Nigeria, God willing. What y'all don't understand is that some many factors are working for the prosperity of the state and such was the reason why it was successful as a commercial center when the respective Europeans discovered it. Once again, nobody is holding ports from anywhere from functioning. Ibom is ready to build and the FG is supported them. LASG is already building in Lekki, so ask Calabar to build one too and stop wailing. Tell your governor to man up to his responsibilities and not turning his state's indigenes to sadists over another state/region developments. Remember Ondo needs ports too. And the state is already courting investors; not waiting to wail to the FG over it. Now if they finally succeed and start work, you'll start another cry of FG focusing only on the South West states forgetting majority of presidents who have ruled Nigeria are not even Yorubas. |
Moodle:How d'you escaped through the Uni with this comprehension issue of yours? How does 'The rail project as well as the Badagry highway are state projects under the supervision of LAMATA even though there is a point that the Apapa-Oshodi-Iyana Oworo-Ojota road project shared right of way but they are different projects.' suddenly meant that Badagry highway is a state road? Even my following post was quite explicit that I understand the road belongs to the FG but that doesn't change the fact that the project is a state project; or how best must I explained that? The discussion was on the project not the road and before you jumped into any discussion next time, try understand the point of argument before barking out your fury like a dog. |
chibnnodi:Not Onne seaport again And why not Ondo seaport Why'd you always sticking out your head with thrash like this whenever Lagos ports are mentioned? What's your state governor doing? You shouted PortHarcourt, Enugu et all over airport only to get the airport and yet, Lagos still has the most used and congested airports in the country. And of course, money make in Lagos runs these other states airport facilities. Even when FG mismanaged facilities at the international airport, the incoming airlines would rather go to another country than use any other airport in the land. FG has obligations to partner any state ready to build any port facility (like the ongoing Lekki seaport which is a state project under PPP and the proposed Ibom seaport as well as the Ibom Airport) but your state governor should be ready to shoulder responsibility. Simple. |
9jaRealist:Of course, the Lagos-Badagry highway is a federal road but the project in question is a state project. And you're right about all the delays too. Let's just hope the projects come alive at the new deadline. Lagos needs underground rail network too for smooth transit but I doubt the possibility now with such congested landmass and her financial condition considering her numerous endeavors. Unless a huge partnership comes from somewhere, we should rather be contented with the lines earmarked in the blueprint. |
Moodle:Sorry that was wrong. The rail project as well as the Badagry highway are state projects under the supervision of LAMATA even though there is a point that the Apapa-Oshodi-Iyana Oworo-Ojota road project shared right of way but they are different projects. What I see here is that unless the rail line is completely ready to use, the highway would not be tarred in order to avoid waste of resources which may result from reconstruction. The rail itself was conceived by Fashola administration to move on diesel alone but it has since been improved to include facilities for electricity powered trains too after the old coach Fashola bought was scrapped and the old contract revisited which led to the CCECC company coming on board hence the obvious changes we see them make to the previous construction to suit the new locomotives they'd acquired from China. Of course, fund availability was a factor thus Ambode ignored it entirely but Sanwo Olu has taken it up, approved the needed funds with consideration for the red line too which they hope to deliver by 2022. Note that this time, CCECC has been fully paid according to LAMATA and the LASG. So the onus rests on the construction company to deliver the project under the timeline. |
delpee:The way Sanwo Olu is touching every facets of development in his infrastructural provision, he's already mocking the performance of Ambode just under two years. All he needs to overshadow his predecessor and compete with Fashola is the delivery of a giant project that can make an impact like the Lekki toll gate or the Oshodi interchange. I guess the delivery of the ongoing red line rail and perhaps, the forth mainland bridge would do the job. By the way, there's the deep sea port this administration has successfully kickstarted too after the project had been ignored since proposed during Fashola's administration. God continue to bless Lagos state Eko o ni baje oooo |
Imagine the comments above: instead of putting the blame on the junk journalism that reported wrong information, they rather lambasted the government who called out the lies since the government, to them, have to bear the burden of the failure of all institutions, leadership and/or even themselves (who's sitting down and expecting mannas to fall from heaven). That's why even in the face of good news, they still complain. |
@richie240, omode n'ise, agba n'ise l'aa fi da otu ife. Eventhough, the govt has a role to play truly in reshaping the society in order to decrease the number of thugs on the streets, the major onus lies on the parents/homes. Most of these nuisances are products of broken homes; especially ones where either one of or both the parents care less about proper upbringing. Many of them werent even born in the state. So, Ile l'aa wo ki a to so omo l'oruko ati wipe ile paapa l'aa ti n ko eso r'ode. Or how many of them can you point at that come from a responsible homes? If the upbringing/foundation is wrong, it takes a big grace to set things right back on the right part. Even the ones that make it to the few schools around are mostly there to forment troubles and disturbance. |
At times, haters may tag you a doom with just a simple look at you but continue working and stay focus... You'll end up shaming them. Even at your success, they find faults and weakness(es) but don't bother much about 'em; they ain't that important. Just be more focus, creative and hardworking, while they wail on over another and another prosperity you make. And don't pray to satisfy them because their satisfaction is your doom. You may hope they change though. My message to all Omoluabis. |
The more reason why some sects in the country incite and rejoice over recent violence in the state. They're doomed and want company. But in lagos, we only succeed and progress unstoppably. Long live lagos prosperity God bless lagos state God bless all Omoluabis Eko o ni baje o...A tunbo maa dara si ni. |
